We were so grateful to Zoe and her team for photographing our wedding—not only for her creative and exacting eye for a good shot, but also her calm, unflappable, stabilizing presen...

ce on such a heady day. For the posed shots, she wrangled everyone from elderly relatives to fussing kids with professionalism and quiet charm. And with the candids, she and her assistant really captured the spirit of our event. One anecdote we love to share is the moment Zoe pulled us out of the reception for a couple of minutes to take a picture near a bush with a strand of lights (our venue was in the middle of a park). She kept telling us, "Trust me, this seems weird, but it will look great," and of course she was right. That's now the closing shot of the wedding album we gave my parents. We highly recommend Zoe Smythe not only as a vendor but as a person—someone you'll be glad you had in your corner on one of the most important days of your lives.

When my fiancé and I were looking for a photographer for our wedding, we really wanted to get an independent, local one. The idea of a large(r) organization picking someone for us ...

just didn't sit right. Being able to sit down with Zoe prior to signing any contracts was crucial as we got to feel each other out. Zoe is warm, smart, funny, and really wants to bring the best out in her clients. Her goal is to make you feel and look as beautiful as you are. We weren't originally going to do an engagement session, but Zoe convinced us that it was a good way for us to all get comfortable with each other and for us to be in front of the camera before the big day. It was also a chance for us to see how she photographs us and the results are fantastic. I can't wait to see how our wedding photos turn out.
