About this vendor
I, Zig Metzler, do solemnly swear to bring integrity and enthusiasm to your celebration.
I promise to document you & your day with compassion, humor, and heart.
Getting married in a National Park? An abandoned mall? A remote mountain-top chapel where Bear Grylls officiates? You know I'm down. Whether your wedding is in your grandma’s backyard, a swanky hotel, or a desert canyon, I’m here to create photographs that feel like classic *you* -- but with some extra magic on top that helps elevate the day and honor your experience. I excel at working with folks who might be a little alienated from traditional wedding or "bridal" culture and want to help make your day A) super-fun B) reflect you: you values, interests, and tastes.
It’s exciting to get to make images of such a special time in your lives. I want to preserve those moments and create something honest, personal, and beautiful that endures.

Zig deserves a million stars. The kind of photographer that gets it -- is professional but still a human and super fun, is thoughtful and dynamic and puts everyone at ease, a strai...
ght-up joy to be around and still sneaky enough to have never realized that your picture was being taken in those ~candid moments~.
You can & should trust Ziggy with documenting your special day. I never had to think twice about anything, and what a gift that is!
Such kindness coupled with clear communication and planning is so rare, and we felt/still feel incredible lucky to have worked together. Cannot recommend enough, and hope that we get to work with Zig again in some way, shape, or form!
Zig takes photos that are more than just a photo. It’s like Zig can capture a feeling and turn it into art. Zig’s professional, can-do attitude combined with their ability to tune ...
in and listen to a couple’s desire and wishes makes it a true gift for anyone who wants to work with them. Zig was able to capture so many special moments while blending into the scene to make the whole evening effortless. Highly recommend!!!
Zig is literally the best of the best. hands down some of the best money i’ve ever spent is hiring this gal for my wedding. Zig was kind, flexible, and understanding during us havi...
ng to postpone our wedding (TWICE) because of the pandemic. she is a dream and when we weren’t taking formal/portrait pics - i truly didn’t even see her sneak around and get stunning shots. (seriously. there’s a pic from behind my MOH giving a speech and i didn’t even notice Zig right behind her?! magic). our price included an extra session but we live across the country and couldn’t squeeze it in before our wedding so two days after she asked to meet for a shoot so we could have some day-wear pics at a cool spot. which was so fun because we actually got to hang and i got to see her process which is so fun to watch.
her work speaks for itself, and not only do i have incredible pics from the most incredible day, but i have a photographer that i’m going to continue to hire throughout life. oh and did i mention it was pouring down rain and she still made it work and made pics beautiful? again - magic. 10/10, all the stars, lifetime recommendation.
Ziggy is the best—I am SO glad we chose to book her for our elopement. All of our plans were extremely last-minute, and Ziggy was so wonderful and flexible about all of it... even ...
serving as our location scout for Austin, basically planning our day. We had a really intimate elopement with just us and our parents, so it mattered a ton that our photographer was fun and chill and helped everyone relax. The photos Ziggy took are crazy gorgeous, and she ran with some of our incredibly vague ideas (lol) to create images that friends and family are continually telling me look like magazine spreads. The work is stunning, and Ziggy's *way* of working is kind, genuine, and unfussy. <3
I cannot say enough good things about Ziggy. Not only is she an amazing photographer who takes beautiful and emotional images - she’s one of the best people to be around. You will ...
spend most of your wedding day with your partner and your photographer - probably more time than you’ll spend with your parents or best friends on that day. Ziggy is the most fun, warm, caring person to be around and will make your day a blast. She’ll make you feel comfortable in front of the camera, and when you look at the images afterward you’ll notice that she captured not only the people and events of that day but the FEELING it held for you and everyone who was there. She is also radically inclusive and very capable of working with LGBTQ+ families and multicultural families. I have worked with Ziggy on multiple occasions and every time I come back to her images I am blown away by the care, thoughtfulness, and artfulness she pours into them. Book her IMMEDIATELY ❤️
I spent a while looking for the perfect photographer. The photos were one of the most important things for us when it came to the wedding. Aside from the amazing photos on her webs...
ite, what struck me the most was Ziggy’s about section. I could instantly tell she was going to be the perfect fit for us -- she was down-to-earth, passionate about her job, and truly wanted to make her clients happy. She didn’t disappoint! Her communication was phenomenal, she made us feel comfortable (neither of us are naturals in front of a camera!), and she was a joy to work with. I recently ordered our album and feel so grateful that we get to relive the best day over and over thanks to her art.
Ziggy was absolutely phenomenal! She was very easy to communicate with and always super upbeat and fun. She was so friendly and really helped everyone feel comfortable with having ...
their picture taken. She was really able to blend in and get those really fun candid shots without it being super obvious that something was being photographed. We had met with her prior to the wedding and she really cared about seeing the type of vibe we were wanting and she 100% delivered. We have been so in love with our photos and are still so overwhelmed with all of them. Her personality really helps the day go smooth and so many of our guests have mentioned to us how cool our photographer was. She even took bridal photos for me a few weeks before the wedding and it really helped get me even more excited about the wedding and my choice of dress. The photos of course turned out insanely beautiful and I trusted her vision all the way. She was nothing but a delight during the entire process and we can't stop recommending her to everyone. Thank you Ziggy!!
Zig went absolutely above an beyond our wildest expectations. She was an absolute joy to work with, made us feel entirely comfortable in our skins, and was a huge hit at our recept...
ion! My sister warned me that the only thing she regretted from her wedding was not hiring a professional photographer and she couldn't have been more right. Our photos are immaculate and we've never looked better! I truly could not have asked for more.
Out of a gazillion vendors all our guests want to know is, "Who was your photographer?!" Not only are our photos AMAZING, but Ziggy is a genuinely wonderful and fun person to be around. Best decision (aside from marrying my wife) I've ever made!
Ziggy is absolute perfection. I wish I could shout from the mountain tops how much we love this girl! From the first conversation I knew she was our dream photograoher. She made it...
a priority to get to know us which made us feel super comfortable right away. She's very professional, kind, and fun to be around. Everyone at my wedding couldnt stop talking about how great she was. She was able to capture our love in a way I didn't think was possible in photos. I would HIGHLY reccomend this amazing human that I now can call a friend.
Where to begin? Our entire experience with Zig was exceptional. Seeing as this was our first wedding and all, Zig helped guide us through the process like a mama duck with an artis...
t's heart. She helped us think through the flow of our day, our colors and styles, and helped us pinpoint the feeling and environment we wanted to create for ourselves and our guests. She listened to our concerns and priorities and made sure that our values were reflected in the way she captured the day. Looking through the photos from that weekend is magical - not only were her photos technically and aesthetically gorgeous, they felt like looking at a documentary of our wedding from the perspective of a lifelong friend. Of course she captured the big moments, but she also captured the tiny moments with friends and family that made the day so special. I can't imagine having worked with anyone else. Thank you, Zig!
