Amazing gem of a business! We found Your Kitchen Chef on the Knot, and after reaching out the process went so smoothly. We went in for a tasting and after being blown away by how delicious everything was, we made the reservation. Keith, Julie, and the whole team are not only prompt and organized, but made sure everything went very smoothly the day of our wedding. Our guests were left pleasantly full and happy :) Highly recommend them!

You Kitchen Chef was the perfect catering experience for our wedding! From beginning to end they were professional, informative, and helpful. One of our favorite parts of the experience was how much flexibility we had with the menu. There were so many options to choose from that we were able to create a menu that felt personal to us and fit perfectly with the Mediterranean theme we envisioned. We even had the opportunity to do a tasting with the chef in his home kitchen, which made the experience feel especially personal and collaborative. They were also very mindful of our budget and worked with us to stay within it without making us feel limited. As we got further into planning, we were able to add on additional services, including dessert and day-of coordination, which made them a true one-stop shop for several of our wedding needs. The catering staff on the wedding day were wonderful. They were professional, efficient, and somehow managed to blend seamlessly into the background. We barely noticed them unless they were going above and beyond to help — which happened often! Everything felt taken care of without us having to think about it. And a special shoutout to Julie, our day-of coordinator. She was a lifesaver! She met with me regularly leading up to the wedding, helped with decorating and setup, coordinated with our vendors, and kept things moving smoothly throughout the day. She was incredibly friendly, professional, and proactive, and having her there gave us so much peace of mind. Overall, they provided not just great food, but an experience that genuinely made our wedding planning and wedding day easier. We felt supported and we’re so grateful to the entire team for helping make our wedding day everything we hoped it would be.

I'll never forget the hours spent in that kitchen absorbing the aromas that were created each day plus learning the finer details of food, food service, and serving people. With a true enjoyment of food and love for its preparation that in 2011 I opened Your Kitchen Chef as a personal chef. YKC has grown from a personal chef business to one of the leading wedding caterers in the Portland metro area.

From the start, Julie managed all the logistics with so much care and patience, even with our many particular requests, while Chef Keith wowed us with his incredible cooking. We had a tasting beforehand, which really set the tone for what we could expect on the big day. The appetizers—bruschetta, pigs in a blanket, and caprese skewers—were a hit right out of the gate. For dinner, they served perfectly cooked chicken, brisket, roasted mixed veggies, potatoes, and homemade rolls that tasted like they came straight from grandma’s kitchen. The bartenders they brought along were fantastic as well, keeping drinks flowing and guests happy. One of the things we appreciated most was how they left us the remaining food at the end of the night—because let’s be honest, wedding food this good deserves an encore! Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how delicious everything was, with many going back for seconds (and even thirds). Your Kitchen Chef truly made the dining experience one of the highlights of our daughter’s wedding day. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for amazing food, impeccable service, and people who really care about making your day special.

We particularly recommend the mushroom puffs for an appetizer, so good! And the gouda mashed potatoes, yum. We had some rare allergies and some vegans to feed, it was no problem at all and very easily managed by them. Keith Banks from Your Kitchen Chef was a great communicator from the beginning. He was flexible and worked with the budget we hoped to stay within. He provided a personalized tasting session for us where we tried multiple dish combinations. A short time later he provided us a quote with a few different options based on our favorite dishes from the tasting. We ended up choosing Greek Lemon Chicken and Marinated Tri-tip for the main dishes, Roasted Potatoes with Garlic and Rosemary and Balsamic Asparagus for the sides, and other appetizer/salad dishes as complements. We were so happy with the final catered meal and heard an abundance of positive comments from the wedding guests. It was definitely one of the highlights of our wedding!
