About this vendor
Our Story
We are a sister run floral design business, passionate about making life more beautiful. Our story began at the ages of 7 and 5, when we spent summers cutting and arranging flowers on our family farm located in Little Compton, Rhode Island. When we were young we never imagined that we would own a floral design business together, however our passion for flowers and design became evident when we found ourselves designing flowers for family friend’s weddings and local restaurants. In 2016 we decided to turn our passion into our livelihood and establish Young Designs. We are proud to be 3rd generation floral designers in our family and will forever cherish our farm roots.
Our farm roots continue to shape the way we run our business, from sourcing locally grown product to developing cherished relationships with our clients. The designs we create are garden inspired and always a reflection of our client’s vision.
After 6 years of owning and running Young Designs, our passion for our work only continues to grow. We could not be more excited for the years to come; where we take our business, the clients we will have the opportunity to work with, and the humbling experiences that come with being floral designers.
Our Location - Newport, RI
We own a retail floral and gift boutique located in the heart of Newport, RI on Thames Street. Our shop is walking distance to Belle Mer, Gurney's, and more.

st vendors I had spoken to prior. They were super responsive leading up to our wedding. The flowers came out beautiful and we got so many compliments!
I got married on June 26th 2022, and the Young Design team made my floral dreams come to life. From the church flowers, to the reception, and floral bouquets I was blown away with ...
the colorful outcome. Hattie & Sarah (sisters, and business owners) are two incredible ladies behind the beautiful floral designs and masterpieces. They are both so very patient, detail oriented, organized, and talented. For someone like myself who loves flowers these ladies went above and beyond finding the most beautiful dahlias I've ever seen!
The flowers were absolutely lovely. Hattie and Sarah were easy to work with, professional and talented. Definitely recommend.
Young Designs was the first vendor we booked and absolutely fell in love with! I cannot recommend Young Designs enough. The sister duo, Hattie and Sarah, are absolutely top notch! ...
They worked together with us to design the perfect bouquets, table decor and ceremony florals. We changed direction a few times over the course of the year planning and they continued to edit our proposal happily and graciously. We are so fortunate to have found this company on Instagram! Hurry and book for your wedding, you won’t regret it!
We can't thank the Young Designs team enough for the magic that was our wedding flowers! As a fellow wedding vendor and photographer, I knew that flowers were *the* item that could...
transform our space and really set the tone of the overall wedding design. I truly believe that flowers are the item worth the splurge to create something extra beautiful. I had a very specific vision and it was important to work with someone who felt invested in understanding that vision and making it even better (versus some others florists we interviewed that felt a little cookie cutter in their approach). At the same time, I wanted to hire a professional that I didn’t have to micromanage to get the end product that I was hoping for. Sarah and Hattie couldn’t have been a better fit to make that happen! They are incredibly personable and made the sometimes daunting wedding planning experience feel so much easier. I had very high expectations but they fully exceeded them. Two of my favorite YD moments: 1) when they walked into our suite with the bouquets that were BEYOND stunning, and 2) when my husband and I walked into the cocktail/reception space for the first time and even he was blown away and couldn’t stop saying how incredible everything looked (with flowers being the focal point of the design). We still (4 months later) have people tell us that they were the most beautiful flowers they’d ever seen at a wedding, and we can’t thank Sarah and Hattie enough for all of the hard work that went into our day!! I wish our flowers could have lived forever, but am beyond grateful to have Young Designs’ work live on in all of our photos!
While Hattie and Sarah were wonderful to work with and we had every expectation they would be great, we honestly weren’t prepared for how beautiful our florals turned out. I had a ...
very specific vision and they not only nailed every detail but exceeded my expectations on everything from our arbor to the bouquets to the tent decor to our wedding cake. I will hire Young Designs the next time I need a florist without question!

They made the tent look magical and our ceremony arbor exceeded all expectations!
They are also the two kindest individuals! Feel so lucky we got to work with them!

emic (5/30) was enough to make anyone crazy. Every step of the way Sarah and Hattie we’re there for us in the most gentle, encouraging and supportive way. It’s obvious they are insanely talented (just check out their insta!) but their genuine personalities just sealed the deal for us. I’m also one of the pickiest brides to possibly ever exist and changed my mind countless times. I never thought someone would be able to bring to life EXACTLY what I was picturing, but that’s just what Hattie & Sarah did! I only cried twice on my wedding day. Once when seeing my Husband-to-be and once when I walked into the reception and saw the florals. Do yourself a favor and book these ladies!!!
Super professional and excellent quality. Our choice with Young Designs brought our wedding to the next level! We couldn’t be happier with our flowers!! Thank you Young Designs!!

put it into words, but these girls created the most beautiful sweetheart table garland and bride’s bouquet for me. And they were so accommodating with me changing my mind many times! Everyone was in awe over the flowers. They made my wedding experience so wonderful!

o over budget and initial ideas and then they sent us a vision board and proposal with our budget in mind. They came up with exactly what we had envisioned. They were super great with working with our budget and trimming down unnecessary costs. For example, I wanted to see the difference between bouquet sizes for both myself and our wedding party so they sent me pictures examples with the pricing. This helped a ton to see what the difference would be in appearance. I was able to stay within our budget by choosing different sizing for some of the pieces and they were equally beautiful. Just tell them what you like and they will work with you! I would highly recommended this sweet sister team for any event!

ng day, they were friendly and professional. Our wedding color scheme was rust orange, wine red, and olive green, and they did a great job with the bridal bouquet, flower comb, bridesmaid posies, arbor flowers, mantelpiece flowers, and more. Exactly fit our vision for a splash of color at the wedding! I’d definitely recommend Young Designs for any wedding flowers — in fact, I already have, and one of my bridesmaids has contracted them for her wedding next summer! Thanks Young Designs!

ver she works with them on an event, I knew I couldn't go wrong with picking them for our October, Newport, wedding. Hattie and Sarah were a joy and pleasure to work with and they far exceeded our expectations on our wedding day! They were attentive to our needs in the planning process, always available to answer questions and kept on top of us when we were horrible at making decisions :). The arrangements were beautiful and everything arranged perfectly on the day. The arrangement they did for our wedding alter is something I will never forget. Hattie and Sarah are true professionals and I would highly recommend them to anyone. We will definitely be using them again for our next event!

re so beautiful they left me speechless! They were also familiar with my venue - a private club - and that was helpful during the design phase.
I would encourage any bride looking for a florist to consider Young Designs!!
Young Designs provided the most beautiful arrangements for my June wedding! They captured my style and vision EXACTLY and even embellished it a bit, which was impressive because I ...
was planning the wedding from 3,000 miles away (and don't really know anything about flowers!) They sent me pictures/inspiration for everything we discussed so I was able to see exactly what I was getting. There were details I had never thought of, and Sarah and Hattie went above and beyond in all respects - even down to repurposing the bridesmaids' posies and placing them in bud vases at the venue. Sarah dropped off all of the arrangements exactly where and when we needed them and was super punctual and communicative. Everyone was commenting on how creative and lovely the arrangements were. I could not be happier with how everything turned out!
Young Designs made choosing flowers for our daughter’s wedding an absolute treat. Sarah and Hattie Young, the owners, listened carefully to our ideas and also, importantly, made pr...
actical suggestions in order to stay within our budget. They handled everything: the church was beautifully done, the wedding party looked gorgeous, and all the arrangements on the tables at the venue were breathtaking and creatively done as well. The Young sisters are incredibly hard-working and professional and returned emails and phone calls immediately—I can’t recommend them highly enough.

flowers and the aesthetic were exactly what we had hoped for. In addition to the flowers for the event, they also led a workshop on flower crowns and posy making for our guests. We absolutely loved it!
It was wonderful for each of our guests to be able to go home with a piece of the shower to remember. We were so pleased with every aspect of their work! Certainly will ask them to do an event again in the future.

ity. From the bouquets and altar arrangements to the reception centerpieces- it all was beyond beautiful and above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined. They were very easy to work with throughout the planning process and also super understanding and flexible in adding in some last minute requests. We would absolutely recommend Sarah, Hattie, and Young Designs for any couple looking for their wedding florist! Our wedding would definitely not have been the same without them!

were extremely fast with emails, helped me figure out what my fiance meant by "lapel flowers", and were so flexible and kind when I needed to change my # of personal 2 or 3 times. Everyone loved the bouquets! Can't say enough how beautiful they turned out and they didn't feel like cookie cuter bouquets that anyone could ask for, they were personalized and uniquely mine!

g color schemes and then we had to order a huppah and pick the arrangements -- Hattie and Sarah held our hands the whole way, and no task was too big or small for them. So many last minute details had the potential to go awry, but those two lovelies kept it together and pulled off a gorgeous evening
These gals are perfect if you want to keep your flowers locally sourced and support a great independent company run by some kick-ass women. Our florals were breathtaking and I will forever be grateful for all of their hard work.

ommunicative, accessible, and the sweetest ladies you will ever meet in the wedding industry. Seriously, the most genuine people ever. Oh, and did I mention yet that their work is BEAUTIFUL? They went above and beyond for my wedding and I am forever grateful. They worked with my budget and executed the most unbelievable bouquets, bouteniers, tablescapes, and small floral details. I was in awe when I finally saw the amazing garland at our head table. (I’m so obsessed that it is currently the background on my phone!) These ladies can do anything! Thank you, Hattie and Sarah, for making our day so beautiful and for being so wonderful to work with!!
Young Design was the perfect florist for our wedding. Hattie worked with me from day 1 and helped us figure out what our flower needs were (I was pretty clueless!). She dealt with ...
me so well as I changed my mind repeatedly about certain things and was so patient and caring! On our wedding day, I was stunned by the flowers. I absolutely loved all of the bouquets, centerpieces, and decorations and could not have imagined anything better! I would HIGHLY recommend using them!!
I can't recommend Hattie, Sarah, and Young Designs highly enough. For my July wedding, I knew I wanted some flowers...but that was about as much as I knew. Types of flowers, colors...
, shapes...I was very much that annoyingly indecisive person who means well, but just doesn't know what they're doing and second-guesses everything, you know? Luckily, Hattie could not have been more awesome and helpful to work with. She took my indecisiveness and created the loveliest flower arrangements I've ever seen for the tables, bouquets, and boutonnieres. She also made a floral comb for my hair that got all the compliments. Hattie and Sarah also, at the last minute before my wedding, figured out how to split some arrangements up because I had miscounted my tables (still so sorry about that). Zero stress, super positive, amazing work. They are artists. They are wonderful. Hire these women.
Hattie and Sarah are amazing! They asked all the right questions to get a full idea of how we envisioned the day, and provided advice on how to make our vision come to life. They ...
designed a color palette for us, based on our mismatched bridal party dresses, that perfectly created a cohesive feel and tied all of the dresses together. Every single arrangement they created was stunning and more than we could have imagined. They were also very understanding of our budget and helped us stick to our budget without sacrificing any style. They pour their hearts, vision, and incredible talent into every aspect of their work. Can't wait to watch their gorgeous take over the RI wedding scene!

ery detail, and they were both completely on the sample page with us from start to finish! Everything from the table flowers, to the bouquets, flower crowns, and corsages were absolutely beautiful, and exactly what we pictured for out special day!! They were so great to work with, and the communication was amazing. They kept us posted on changes and details and were willing to work with our budget while capturing the exact look we wanted. I could not recommend them enough!
We loved working with Hattie and Sarah. The flowers were above and beyond our expectations! They were so easy to work with and accommodating. The flowers were exactly the vision I ...
had and many guests complimented them!
Young Designs assured me time and time again over the course of a year that they would be able to get close to the color and flowers I was looking for in my bouquets. Even saying "...
We definitely can get close to the look like the pictures you have provided." I understood that no bouquet could be identical to what I wanted as it's a natural product and some flowers aren't in season, however their confidence in being able to create an arrangement of a similar nature and color made me feel comfortable that they could achieve the look we discussed, which is why I hired them. I was very specific in our contract and created a very direct Pinterest board with them so that they fully understood what I wanted. They included these images as inspiration and added the in-season flowers I wanted to our contract. On the day I received my bouquets, only 2 flowers in our contract were used (although the rest were all in season and our reception florist was able to source them) and the color scheme was incorrect. When I spoke to Hattie she responded apathetically stating they had creative license and (even though they had months to discuss the color palette with me) said "From a design and color perspective I tried incorporating the dark purple flowers in with the other colors you wanted and I decided it didn't blend well." Our reception florist had to re-do the bouquets for us and thank god for that. She was able to achieve the look with no problem. My experience with Young Designs was an upsetting one. They have a lot to learn about customer service. Save yourself the tears and hire someone else.
Sarah and Hattie were so awesome to work with! So easy going, professional and nice....I got so many compliments from guests wanting to know who did our flowers. They listened to...
what I wanted, were flexible, and delivered the most beautiful flowers and table arrangements. Would highly recommend Young Designs for a beautiful and stress-free experience!

understood the look I was going for and they created the most beautiful bouquets, flower crowns and arrangements!! They clearly love what they do. I would recommend them to anyone!!
Thank you Hattie and Sarah!

e ideas of flower arrangements, but Hattie and Sarah were full of ideas and options for us to choose from.
We changed our minds many times, and Hattie and Sarah were so accommodating and supportive every step of the way! They worked with us to use farm-fresh and local flowers to help stay within our budget, and were always giving us recommendations of which flowers would be the most beautiful given the season and availability. We met with them at their family farm to look at certain flowers and to discuss our options, which was so helpful.
We even had a major venue change 6 weeks before the wedding, yet Young Designs was flexible and helped us to create our dream wedding. Even though the new venue was now a 45 minute drive from the original venue, this did not seem to matter!
Our guests are STILL talking about the floral arrangements many months after the wedding. We are so glad we chose to work with Young Designs, as the flowers were more beautiful than we could have imagined for both the ceremony and the reception!
Thank you both for your amazing work!
Absolutely top-notch. They did such a great job in making sure our Four Seasons Boston wedding was stunning. They are very professional AND affordable AND talented.

rs were only for special occasions, but I've learned that having flowers in your home creates a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy every day. I have worked with Hattie and Sarah numerous times now for special events like dinner parties and holiday decorating, and for simply having vibrant floral arrangements adorn my home. They do an amazing job each and every time. I highly recommend them!
I had an outstanding experience with Young Designs for my wedding. The finished product exceeded all expectations, Hattie and Sarah were a pleasure to work with, and pricing was ex...
tremely reasonable. I was wishy-washy when trying to explain the picture in my head of what I envisioned my flowers to look like, Hattie was beyond patient and reassuring that the finished product would be what I envisioned, she was so right. Hattie's confidence and experience eliminated stress in the planning stages and I was absolutely in love with all of the florals on my wedding day (bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, potted arrangements for church, wreaths, table arrangements, bride/groom chair florals, cocktail table florals, card table florals, and more). Unlike other vendors I worked with, Young Designs was reliable and right on time with their quotes and revisions. I have and will continue to recommend Young Designs to my family and friends!
