About this vendor
Wedding Photography for the Moments That Matter Most
Your wedding day is about so much more than beautiful portraits. It's about celebrating with your favorite people, soaking in every moment, and creating memories you'll be talking about for years. Your photographs should bring you right back to all of it.
I'm Carly, the photographer behind Wild North Weddings! Based near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I've spent over a decade documenting weddings, from elegant ballroom celebrations and laid-back outdoor gatherings to intimate destination weddings across the country and around the world.
A Little Less Posing, A Lot More Living in the Moment
My approach blends candid, documentary-style photography with natural, timeless portraits. I'm drawn to genuine emotion, meaningful interactions, and all those wonderfully imperfect moments that make a wedding day uniquely yours.
I'll guide you when you need direction, help you feel comfortable in front of the camera, and know when to step back and let things unfold. You won't spend your entire wedding day posing for photos, and you definitely don't need to know what to do with your hands. I've got you!
My editing style is colorful and true to life because I believe your wedding photographs should look just as beautiful decades from now as they do today.
More Than Just Showing Up With a Camera
With 10+ years of wedding experience, I know how much goes into making a wedding day run smoothly. From helping you create a realistic photography timeline to navigating family portraits, coordinating with your other vendors, and adapting when things don't go exactly as planned, I'm here to make the photography experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.
I want you to feel confident knowing your memories are in good hands, so you can focus on what matters most: getting married and having an incredible time celebrating.
Your Wedding, Your Way
Whether you're planning a big celebration in Pittsburgh, a romantic wedding in the Laurel Highlands, or a destination wedding somewhere entirely new, my goal is always the same: to document your day honestly, beautifully, and in a way that feels like you.
If you're looking for a photographer who values genuine connections, embraces the unexpected, and believes the in-between moments are just as important as the big ones, I think we'll get along pretty well.
I'd love to hear what you're planning!
Let's create photographs that feel like your wedding, not just look like it.

o come! Thank you, Carly!!!
Our experience with Carly D’Angelo of Wild North Weddings was absolutely amazing from start to finish! We had a traditional wedding at Windham Manor in Windham, NY, and Carly truly...
captured our wedding exactly as we had pictured it in our minds. We spent a long time looking through different wedding photographers, but once we found Carly’s work on her website and social media, we found ourselves comparing everyone else to her. From the very beginning, Carly was incredibly friendly, professional, and easy to work with. She provided so much guidance throughout the planning process, from helping us with the timing of our timeline to keeping everything moving smoothly on the wedding day. Looking back at our photos now, we honestly don’t know how she captured some of them because it never even felt like she was there. She was able to capture so many genuine moments without ever being intrusive. Her communication, professionalism, and attention to detail throughout the entire process made us feel like we were always in great hands. And the photos themselves are absolutely stunning. They turned out even better than we ever could have hoped for, and we are so grateful to have these memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. If you are looking for a wedding photographer, we cannot recommend Carly and Wild North Weddings enough!
Carly did such a wonderful job with our elopement. I cannot recommend her enough. She is simply the best!
Not only are Carly’s photos amazing, but so is her personality. She is friendly, supportive, and professional all at once. Her knowledge and expertise shined through in every step ...
of the process. From our very first emails, she completely understood our vision and helped bring it to life. Shooting our engagement session with her was the perfect warm‑up for the wedding day, and she made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera.
Carly is incredibly timely with her galleries, and her editing style is timeless. We are so grateful to have such stunning photos to look back on for years to come. She is an absolute pleasure to work with, and we could not have asked for a better photographer for our special day!
Carly truly helped us create the elopement experience that we envisioned and made our day so special even while a nor’easter was going on and we were outside in a state park. We lo...

no Mountains, and Carly made the entire process effortless, joyful, and truly unforgettable.
From our very first meeting, we immediately felt a connection with Carly — her positive energy, organization, and genuine care instantly put us at ease. She guided us through every step of planning our adventure elopement: scouting breathtaking locations, recommending local vendors and restaurants, and even officiating our ceremony. Carly is truly a one-stop shop for couples seeking an intimate, stress-free, and beautifully personalized experience.
On the day of our intimate woodland elopement — just the two of us — Carly went above and beyond: carrying props, helping us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and even reworking our entire timeline last minute upon our request, without hesitation. Her flexibility and calm energy made everything flow naturally and perfectly. She truly listened to our ideas and brought them to life through her creative direction and artistry.
The very next day, we received a sneak peek album that absolutely took our breath away. Our entire album turned out amazing. Carly’s skill behind the camera is unmatched — every photo tells a story, capturing the emotion, beauty, and intimacy of each moment. The images were stunning, natural, and full of heart.
Carly is not only incredibly talented but also an exceptional communicator who goes above and beyond to make your day perfect. We couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful experience, and we are endlessly grateful for everything she did to make our elopement so special. It was truly more than we ever envisioned — simply perfect in every way.
I don’t even know where to begin because our photographer, Carly was truly the heart behind our entire elopement. What could have been an overwhelming three-month planning process ...
became something beautiful, simple, and full of joy because of her. She didn’t just show up to take photos — she guided us, supported us, and genuinely cared about making our day unforgettable.
Even though our wedding took place in a state none of us lived in, she went out of her way to scout locations for us. Carly sent Google map links, photos, and ideas that helped us picture exactly what our day could look like. We had several phone, email and video meetings leading up to our wedding, and every single time she made us feel heard, understood, and excited!
She helped us find vendors in the WV area, reached out to some of them herself for initial date availability, and created a perfect timeline that made our day feel effortless. She also worked alongside a videographer that she didn’t know.. you would have thought they worked together in the past with how professional and well they worked off of each other. On our wedding day, she brought such a happy, calming, warm presence — the kind of energy you hope to have around you during such an intimate moment!
And the photos… they were everything. Beautiful, emotional, and delivered so quickly. She captured our love and the spirit of our day in a way that we will cherish forever.
We are endlessly grateful for her. She didn’t just give us photos; she helped create one of the most meaningful days of our lives. If you are lucky enough to have her as your photographer, you are truly in the best hands!! Thank you again Carly, we knew you were the right choice! 💗
Carly and Wild North Weddings were the best quality, and simultaneously best value not just among vendors or artists on our wedding day, but thus far in life. The quality of work s...
peaks for itself and can be seen on her instagram…what may not be shown or obvious is all the extra Carly does. Carly made my wedding timeline, so there’s that. She also gave sage advice on setup, timing, order of events, all with a contagious and positive attitude while still being a total boss. I can not say enough kind and appreciative words of Carly and her services. If I could keep 1 vendor of my wedding the same and do it again it’d be this.
Carly is hands down the best elopement photographer I could have ever asked for. My husband and I don’t like getting pictures taken and can be rather awkward lol but she guided us ...
and somehow delivered an entire album worth of beautiful photos. We wanted our elopement to be as simple as possible and Carly made it all come together perfectly without any hassle. She’s the total package and a true professional.
We absolutely loved working with Carly! She is very down-to-earth and kind, it felt like she was a friend after the first time meeting her. Our wedding photos look beautiful, too!...

On the day of, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to shoot our wedding. Carly was an absolute joy to have with us, our personalities worked really well together and she is really game for anything! She was a trooper with our larger group and hike that day and captured some absolutely wonderful memories perfectly.

nough to ask for a great photographer, but on top of that, she is also an amazing human. She is kind, personable, patient, and makes the photoshoot process so seamless. She is willing to try every different angle and pose just to get that right one, she makes the entire experience so easy and relaxing, especially for those who feel anxious or nervous having their picture taken. I would recommend Carly to everyone and anyone who asked, it was an absolute honor to have her photograph our wedding and engagement shoot, and I plan to use her for everything and anything I need pictures for in the future!! I recommend you reach out to her ASAP to guarantee she is available!!!

every spot in the city (PIT), you get a coordinator to plan logistics and photo timelines, and most importantly you get a friend to lean on during the most stressful parts of wedding planning.
There was never a moment in time that we ever had to doubt Carly, she was always there and ready to do her job. There is so much security in knowing that one of your most important vendors is in control and ready to roll.
Carly was the best investment we made for our wedding and as cliche as it sounds, the photos were priceless.

nding with our engagement session and I knew she would be perfect for the wedding. Carly helped with timelines for the day, thought of things before I ever did, and made our day so special. She focused on us as a couple and what we wanted! It was truly a wonderful day with them. Our sneak peak arrived within 24 hours of the wedding and I was truly speechless at how perfect the photos were! When we got all of our photos, it was even better than we would have imagined!! I can never thank Carly enough for capturing our perfect day in the most perfect way. Forever grateful to have booked with WildNorthWeddings and to have such wonderful photos to remember the best day of our lives with! 10000/10 would recommend!

to our elopement and made us feel so comfortable on the day of. She was up for anything we wanted to do and really prioritized making sure we were having the best day. And the photographs turned out so much better than I could have expected! She did such an amazing job and I am so grateful to have had her there to capture the important moments of that day. I am looking forward to having these photographs to look back at over the years and reconnect with the beautiful emotions of the day. I 1,000% recommend Carly!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Carly! Working with her was genuinely a dream. From the moment we started talking in our initial screening call, it was clear that she is ...
not only incredibly creative but also a genuinely caring, sweet and fun person to work with. After going through her portfolio, what really stood out was her ability to create a scene from something that is seemingly ordinary, as well as her attention to detail. The care she puts into capturing the feeling in each of her clients' major life milestones was so evident and simply stunning.
Carly did both our engagement and wedding. We had the best time at 5 in the morning, drinking champagne down on the river walk in Pittsburgh. She was even so sweet to make sure our dog had her moment to shine. During the planning process, I expressed interest in having film photos, too, and Carly was quick to say "let's try it!" and we have both incredible digital and film photos from both days that we will cherish forever.
We received our sneak peek for our wedding photos LITERALLY THE DAY AFTER THE WEDDING and our entire album within a month. When I tell you I was blown away going through the album I was BLOWN away. Of the seemingly millions of photos taken, every single one was composed in the most gorgeous, creative, and detailed way. When my husband and I went back through to create a favorites album, we had literally 800 in there. It's impossible to narrow down.
Another thing that truly set Carly apart was her ability to make everyone feel at ease. First of all, my husband and I are not natural posers - she captured the most amazing portraits, but also incredible candids of us and our loved ones that I love equally. We had a wedding party of 23 plus us, and Carly and her second shooter's friendly, laid-back (but timely!!!!) demeanor made the whole process fun and relaxed. I even felt like I didn't waste my whole evening taking pictures, and yet there were SO MANY gorgeous, varied shots to go through. It was so amazing to have these memories captured and still get to fully enjoy the day that we worked so long in planning.
Everyone says it, but your wedding goes by in such an amazing whirlwind; having Carly there to make sure that every bit of the day is captured in a way that is beautiful, natural and authentic was the best decision we made. You genuinely could not put a price on the memories that she was able to preserve for us - she is beyond incredible and we were so lucky to work with her.
P.S. I really couldn't even decide on pictures for this post, how can I be expected to pick some for a book?!

y way and when we look at our photos, we feel that same love and joy we felt on our wedding day. To add to it, not only is she INSANELY talented, she is so kind and so fun. We are two people that feel a bit awkward in front of the camera and she made us feel so comfortable. Our engagement session was a blast and our wedding was amazing. I’d book her 10x over.

hose to get ready with just my makeup artist and her, and she helped me to feel calm, taken care of, and able to focus on my excitement for the day.
Later on, it felt like she was a part of the party, which we absolutely encouraged. Her ease at mixing with various personalities made it so she could capture the most authentic moments from a wide variety of characters. She included details that mattered so much to me, as well as expressions and moments that allow us to look back and remember everything we lived and felt on that special day.
She was also able to edit a small number of specific photos based on my request, which made a frustrating moment from my ceremony seem like it never happened. The peace of mind from this alone is beyond worth it to me.
I'd also like to add that Carly is an adventure/outdoor pro photographer. Even if you aren't scaling mountains or wandering into rivers with her for the perfect shot, she has such a good eye for beautiful nature that your outdoor garden wedding will be just as stunning as a Yosemite elopement.
HIGHLY recommend, and will think of her for any future professional photo needs.
I can't even BEGIN to say how professional and talented Carly is for weddings. Wow, were we ever blessed to find this amazing photographer! She was with our daughter and now son-in...
-law at the proposal, then for engagement photos, and then for their wedding. She got to KNOW them and everyone just fell in love with her. Her photos provide that wow-factor every bride looks for to remember her wedding day. And, I want to stress how she and her team were not distractions during the ceremony or reception. There are some weddings we have attended where we completely miss the ceremony because the photographer is in the way. I get it, but Carly proves that it isn't necessary to be on top of the couple to capture those special moments. Carly and Wild North Weddings is the team anyone would be fortunate to have document the big day!

lanning process and reached out to provide assistance/guidelines to ensure we didn't miss a deadline or detail. She has a wealth of knowledge and ideas to assure you don't miss a beat. On our wedding day she captured every beautiful detail of our venue and the special moments I shared with my husband, friends, and family. I was blown away that at any moment during the reception, I could turn to look for her and there she was ready to capture the moment! She was incredibly quick too, which allowed us to take every possible photo we wanted and have some extra time to spend with our guests. Best of all by Sunday evening she had over 50 beautifully edited photos to share with us! I was blown away by the quality and beauty of all the photos and I couldn't wait to see the rest of them. She even surprised us with two small clips of our dance floor during our favorite songs that she was not previously aware of. ONE MONTH LATER, we had all of our photos! If you're looking for a professional, organized, well priced photographer who provides breathtaking photos, Carly is your girl!

d was very helpful throughout our wedding planning process. Not only did she take amazing pictures to capture our special day, but she provided suggestions and insight into different wedding ceremony spots in Pennsylvania based on what kind of scenery we wanted. She also provided us with details on the elopement process and things we needed to acquire (licenses and permits) before the wedding. She gave us suggestions on things we could incorporate into our ceremony and different ideas for our vows. She searched for local make-up artists and restaurants that we could use for our wedding day. We landed on Boulder Field in Hickory Run State Park. It was such a unique venue and perfect for us. She was in constant communication with us and was well prepared for any situation. Carly is a true professional and went above and beyond for us. Thank you so much, Carly!
