I really can't say enough good things about Paris and the way that he navigated our wedding reception from start to finish. We had good vibes right from the start when we spoke on ...the phone, in large part because of his pleasant temperament and warm nature. I recall looking at my wife as Paris was beginning to explain how we might organize the reception, and she was silently but excitedly mouthing "he's the one!" So here are just a few of the reasons why we felt so satisfied with the way Paris hosted our reception.
First and foremost, every decision that was made in regards to the reception felt supportive and collaborative. I could tell immediately that Paris excelled at this sort of thing because his suggestions were always focused on reducing our overall stress and allowing us to appreciate the moment. He understood that we were aiming for an evening that felt both classy and fun, which is not an easy thing to achieve. Our reception took place at the Hotel Bethlehem, and Paris was already familiar with the location and staff, which made for a seamless transition. On top of this, our guests were a pretty diverse group of folks, and I'll be honest... I was worried that given how different everyone's personalities were, the dance floor might have looked kind of deserted. I'll never forget (because I was so pleasantly surprised) that the hotel staff had to start reminding people around 11pm that the reception was over, since our guests literally danced the night away. It was kind of surreal actually. We've since had many guests tell us things like, "we've been to a lot of wedding this year, but this one just had great energy."
When I shook Paris's hand afterwards he laughed warmly and said, "that was a good one!" Frankly, he was being too modest by attributing it to luck. The reason everything flowed so well is because he knew precisely how to organize the evening. Everything about our reception felt personalized, manageable, memorable, and enjoyable. As our emcee, he kept the evening rolling, but never made himself the focus of people's attention. He worked with us to ensure that our wedding party's introductions were humorous and fun, that the music was snappy and fit the moment, he helped us customize the father/daughter dance so that it included the bride's late grandfather singing in the background, his up-lighting transformed the room in such a beautiful way (we had collaborated on this as well), and he somehow was able to work-in our guests' requests for music with the songs that we had pre-selected in a manner that felt seamless. I suppose I'm emphasizing that last bit because our music selection was pretty diverse as well, and yet everything flowed so naturally. On top of all this, his pricing was transparent, reasonable, and in retrospect, we both felt like we really got what we paid for.
So those are our thoughts about Paris. It's funny how you start out hiring someone to do a job for you, but then end up feeling like there is a personal connection because they went the extra mile to make your plans a reality. He really is a consummate professional who knew exactly how to bring our vision to life. Therefore, we are more than glad to recommend Paris to you. I anticipate that if you read his other reviews, they will be equally glowing.
