Weddings by Hanel

ade us feel very comfortable during our video consultation and in-person chat: answered all our questions, set expectations, guided us through how photography and videography would work at our wedding, and just had such a warm, patient, kind, and professional demeanor. He walked us through the entire process, was extremely responsive, and gave us suggestions when we weren’t sure what to do with our photo timeline. During the wedding, he was a pillar of support and directed group photos well, which can get crazy if you have a large family like I do. He went above and beyond and even offered me and a bridesmaid a ride to the wedding venue—seriously, what other person would do that?!? HANEL! He was extra generous with his time and ended up staying longer at our wedding than necessary to finish taking group photos. He simply did everything out of the kindness of his heart and always went the extra mile. We were blown away by his commitment to our wedding. We also decided to go with Wedding by Hanel because of the extra care and creative detailing in his photos. Our engagement photos and wedding album were gorgeous! We loved the photo quality and felt so lucky to have him as our photographer and videographer. He captured all the important moments and highlighted the beauty of that day. His work is immaculate and we recommend him to everyone we know!

is the output artistic and amazing, their kindness and patience is incredible. Day of my wedding, I was stressed out - until Hanel walked in. I knew we were in good hands because he is a great director for where to go and what to do. I found Hanel because my brother used him for his wedding, a cousin used him, and of course I had to too. Word of mouth - but I hope to spread the word to others as well. Very deserving for the best recognition possible!!

e wanted and how to make the most of the space. We were very impressed with his adaptability and professionalism. Our guests even said they were impressed.

s important to my husband and I, and helped navigate all of our requests within our jam packed schedule. From the beginning of the day to the very end, Hanel and team were always nearby and full of energy, capturing all the big and little moments of us and our guests. I felt like a celebrity/model for the day, with the ease of a seasoned coach to guide me through poses. From detail shots to our first look, portraits to group shots, dancing, cake cutting, catching up with guests, and everything in between - Hanel and team were there and ready (with superb lighting I may add). If I could do it all again, I would add additional hours because I felt so sad when our 10 hrs together were up, and had to say goodbye. I highly recommend Hanel’s services, you will not regret it.

r didn't want to be awkward but Hanel made us feel comfortable from the moment we met. The photos and videos from our wedding are more beautiful than we could have imagined and exceed our expectations. They truly look like they belong in a magazine. Hanel is such a professional, gives off such a calming energy, and was able to pivot and accommodate us without a second thought when things changed or popped up. we cannot recommend working with Hanel enough.

and emails in a timely manner and really took the time to understand the vision we had for our engagement photos and wedding photos/films. During all of the stress of wedding planning this was the least of my worries! We cannot say enough about Hanel and his team and their commitment to their craft and delivering the most fantastic, beautiful and high quality photos and films!!

heir cameras. Their attention to details, their expertise of utilizing the lighting, and most importantly, their personality really helped to ease all the anxiety and just to focus on enjoying the moment. We never imagined things could all happen on one of the biggest days in your life, i.e. when you realized the tuxedo buttons were missing a few mins before the guests arrival, etc. Mike and Adam are just like someone you've known for a long time, they calm us down and led us into our comfort mode quickly. The day passed by so quickly, we are very thankful that they have great eyes to capture the touching and beautiful perspective that we missed - immersing us with beautiful sounds and big smiles. Highly recommend getting the package with videography! His work captured our hearts, and allows us to relive the moment as if it happened yesterday!

bout a year later, we are so so happy that we did. Hanel’s highlight film and feature film of our wedding are going to be cherished forever. Hanel was extremely easy to work with and was able to be flexible given the series of events we had all day. He required very little from us over the course of the day to get all the footage he needed. His videos are masterpieces of excellent footage, combined with great editing that captured the day and night wonderfully. We would definitely recommend Hanel for your videography needs!

live our wedding every time we look at them. He and his assistant Mike were very professional, competent and had such a calming presence on our big day. They were thoughtful and warm, even going the extra mile to help corral family and keep us on schedule. He clearly and calmly directed us while shooting and everything felt natural and easy, especially for two people who aren’t used to having their photos taken. Hanel has an incredible instinct for framing epic shots, capitalizing on the lighting and setting, and capturing sweet, intimate moments between a couple and their guests. No detail was missed! We got tons of beautiful first look photos, family portraits, and fun, candid party shots. He managed to take pictures of just about every guest who attended, which was a wonderful surprise for us. We were so taken with each and every single one of our photos, and will treasure them for the rest of our lives. We can’t thank you enough for capturing our day so beautifully, Hanel! You are a truly talented, amazing photographer and we loved working with you.

erything for us. He's adept with staging and posing, helping put us at ease and directing the show when he needed to. During the ceremony, he was unobtrusive and never missed a beat. Ceremony, details, glamor photoshoot, family shots, dancing; or noontime direct sunlight, dimly lit libraries, or triggered flashes, he has it all covered. Extra shoutout to Mike too, his second shooter. General advice: your photographer is the vendor that you work closest with throughout your wedding day, so find someone you trust. While we were searching, Hanel stood out to us because we thought we sensed a strong distinct style throughout his gallery. His work is both honest and dramatic. We will treasure these photos forever.

d. You will gain a friend and an amazing photographer! He is hospitable, kind, eager and yet so focused on his craft. The process in preparing for the wedding was smooth and organized which I admired because every little detail was not overlooked. Every angle, every moment was captured perfectly - even more so, more perfect than I could have EVER imagined.

d Hanel was really flexible around the time differences etc. On the big day Hanel ensured we got the photos we wanted (relaxed documentary-style) and even acted as our witness. And the photographs are amazing - thank you so much Hanel for being part of our day.

ilm. And after we decided to work with Hanel as our own videographer, Hanel helped us continually for over two years and during the unprecedented times. Hanel was always so professional and personal at the same time and made our planning and our wedding date effortlessly smooth. With the outcome of our film, we are so amazed how Hanel was able to capture and edit the most precious and beautiful moments during our special day( and night). We are beyond thankful for Hanel for the most sentimental film that we will cherish forever!!

high quality, would highly recommend!

te, my husband and I both cried and we didn't even know the couple in the video! Hanel's ability to capture the love story between two people and turn it into an incredible keepsake is unmatched. Throughout our wedding planning process, Hanel was nothing short of fantastic. He was understanding, helpful and truly dedicated, not just to his work and reputation, but dedicated to us and to our friends and family. We can honestly say Hanel made sure our day was perfectly captured and as stress-less as possible. His attention to detail is phenomenal! He captures the most beautiful moments, ones that you would never even think of. He has left an everlasting impression on us and even on our guests. We got married May 2021 and our guests are still talking about him to this day! There aren't enough words to describe how thankful we are to have had the privilege of having Hanel as our photographer/videographer! We HIGHLY recommend him and his team!!

t had lots of nice spots, and he was so helpful in guiding us on how to pose for the camera. On our wedding day, he brought two more people in his team and they were all very nice and helpful, and my family liked them too! I saw them using walkie talkies, so I knew they had everything in check. There was some rain in and out before the ceremony, so I appreciate the quick response and creativity to find some workaround shots for our first look. Rest of the day, I was in cruise control and Hanel and co did their magic to capture important moments. I'm very glad that we had Hanel's talent and expertise to be part of the most important days in our lives. Highly recommend!!

eat, I think that's obvious. 2. He is flexible and very attentive to details --we had our wedding in Rochester, NY, and he arrived there a day before the wedding day to survey the area, all the while getting a flat tire during the process. Diligent quality you want from anyone. 3. Has a great personality--we were a bit nervous about having photo shoots in the public area like inside the Central Park NY,; my wife and I are relatively shy about posing in front of others in public, but he made the entire photoshoot a really fun experience and we didn't make us feel uncomfortable at all. It's a shame. I can't give him higher rating than the ones the system allows us to give, because we really loved Hanel and I would refer him to all my friends and family that needs a photographer. Thank you Hanel!

in person. It was soooo incredibly successful. When I got to our sweetheart table, I glanced at my phone to find text messages from friends/family that tuned in virtually. They all proceeded to tell us how beautiful the ceremony was and how grateful they were able to be with us. Weddings by Hanel was kind, detailed, knowledgeable, and so pleasant to work with! For anyone looking for a videographer, this is the vendor to book!

dgeable, friendly, and paid such great attention to detail. We confirmed Hanel for both our engagement shoot and on our wedding day and we loved how all the photos and video came out! He was also so understanding and worked with us to reschedule because of covid. I seriously would recommend Hanel to anyone (and we have recommended him to our friends already)!

0-200 or so watching via Hanel’s livestream. This was crucial given that my husband’s family and family in Germany, plus numerous others could not travel to the States given travel restrictions. The quality of Hanel’s livestream was perfect. Friends sent us screenshots and they looked like stills from a film. We also got a copy of the Zoom recording, the camera recording itself, plus the saved Zoom chat (it was great reliving the ceremony by reading guest comments). Lastly, Hanel is an utmost professional, very responsive, and easy to work with. HIGHLY recommend!

n idea for great framing strikes him, he will literally run across the street or parking lot or wherever to get the shot and it always turns out amazing and well thought out. Second, he is extremely gracious and easy to work with. We went into 2020 thinking we would have one wedding of ~150 people. Through scaling back to 20 people due to COVID, and rescheduling the larger reception event for 2021, then later cancelling the 2021 event, Hanel was extremely fair and flexible when it came to adjusting plans and contracts as necessary. Highly, highly, highly recommend working with him.

graphy as we both used to own a film production company. I was drawn to Hanels eye when I saw his portfolio. Know he did not disappoint. If you're looking for a pinterest worthy picture, without looking cheesy with a cinematic edge Hanel is your guy. Not only did he do our photos, but he also did our Zoom for the many guests who couldn't be there that was put on a Massive 75 inch TV for us to see. I'm British, so none of my family could be there, he made this so unbelievably seamless and special. Everyone raved how professional it was. He is very approachable & great at directing pictures in a non invasive way. When I was younger I modeled for a living and know I have met so many annoying photographers and Hanel is literally a dream. He also worked with our budget seems we had a microwedding. Highly recommend him!

ay itself he was punctual, took care of everything without adding any stress at all, and quickly delivered us a totally memorable video. Our guests who attended via Zoom started emailing us immediately to say how great it was on their end!

d throughout the planning process and on our wedding day. Our family and friends were so grateful for the ability to be there virtually, and the footage came out great! We would highly recommend. It was some of the best money we spent on our wedding day! Thank you!

th Hanel, we cancelled on the other photographer because we didn't want to waste his time when we knew we were choosing Hanel! He is so friendly and truly cares about his clients. He wasn't quick to talk to us about packages, pricing, etc. but genuinely wanted to hear about our story and what we were looking for. We booked him (photo/video) for our big wedding (August 2020), but because of COVID, we moved our big wedding to next year. However, we still got married this year (June 2020 - 15 people total including my husband and I), so I asked Hanel if he would be willing to shoot our small wedding as well. He was more than willing and we are SO HAPPY with our pictures. Honestly, it seemed like a friend was taking pictures of us. We were so comfortable and he made great use of our surroundings. I highly recommend Hanel for any event!!! Affordable and awesome!

ile still being warm and kind in a way that sets you at ease and makes you excited and comfortable in the present moment. Hanel will capture your wedding in ways that you would never imagine. Hanel’s photography literally creates your wedding into a work of art and we are so thankful we chose him to capture our special day. Choosing Hanel to do our wedding photography was probably one of the easiest wedding decisions we made. From the moment we met with him we felt at ease and excited to have him capture our day. The package we chose included an engagement shoot. We had never done a photo-shoot before and definitely had never worked one on one with a professional photographer so to say we were nervous is an understatement. The engagement shoot was our first time truly experiencing how talented Hanel is and we were beyond blown away by his ability to make us feel comfortable and enjoy the moment as a couple. Hanel effortlessly directed us from where we should lay our hands, how to stand and to where we should look to create that perfectly romantic shot. When our wedding came a year later I was confident and excited that Hanel was the one capturing our special day. Hanel was everything we'd ever hoped for and more in the photographer capturing our day. Hanel was able to snap the most gorgeous and unique photos that made our hearts swell when we saw our gallery. I also must say his ability to work in different environments is quite amazing. My bridal party and myself were running 4 hours behind and in November that means little to no natural light and that gave me such anxiety but Hanel was able to capture BEAUTIFUL pictures using his techniques, team and years of experience. We’ve gotten and continue to get numerous compliments from our bridal party, family and friends about how on point Hanel’s direction was as well as his level of professionalism. Hanel is able to use the surrounding venue/space to create unique pictures that will make your jaw drop. Our venue was the Palace at Somerset Park and there are many cookie cutter pictures that all couples take there but Hanel has such a unique eye that even the staff at the Palace was impressed by his ability to capture moments differently and better than large wedding photography companies. If I was nervous or concerned leading up to the wedding I was able to easily contact him directly and express my concerns and every single time Hanel would respond in a timely manner with great suggestions and words of comfort. If you’re engaged and looking for a photographer please take the time to check out Weddings By Hanel. You will not be disappointed.

Adam, our videographer for the day, went above and beyond to capture footage from multiple angles. Hanel put together a lovely highlight reel that really captured the joy of the day. Throughout the process, Hanel was easy to get in touch with, made sure everything was discussed in advance so the actual day went smoothly, and followed up at appropriate times. We got a package that included full footage from both the ceremony and the reception, and we are looking forward to revisiting our wedding day for many years to come! I would highly recommend Weddings by Hanel for your wedding videography (and photography) needs!

ry helpful. We were one of those couples that didn’t have a ton of direction but Hanel always seemed to be one step ahead. His team showed up impeccably dressed (straight out of Vogue!) and seamlessly blended in, capturing moments for almost 8 hours. Creatively, Hanel has an eye for weddings that is few and far between. He is constantly ideating and thinking of different poses, and does a great job not only executing but making those participating feel comfortable. We were blown away by the final product, which was an album consisting of both candid and staged moments that perfectly captured our wedding. Looking back, hiring Hanel was one of the best decisions we made going into our wedding. We cannot recommend him enough – he is beyond talented and would not be surprised if he starts to book up seasons in advance. Thank you Hanel and team!

rful personality. He always knew exactly how to direct us before each picture down to each little detail and did so with a down-to-earth and respectful attitude. Working with Hanel during the photos felt like a perfect fit, and when we saw the finished photos, we immediately knew that he would be our guy for our wedding day. He has a great ability to understand our personal preferences and to capture those elements in any surrounding. His knowledge of lighting and artistic elements are evident in the final product and you know that you will be getting unique and professional results. We just received our wedding day photos and were blown away by how great they are. It will be a challenge to pick the few photos we want to include in our album! We found Hanel through family friends and we will surely recommend him to all our friends and family. Thank you Hanel for some amazing photos and for going above and beyond our expectations!

beautifully! He was also super flexible and so easy to work with leading up to the big day. On the actual day, he was so incredibly patient with us and helped calm our nerves - which is exactly what we needed. For the proposal (which was a surprise and at the end of a long hike), he actually did the hike with my husband a few days prior to the proposal to help him find the perfect spot to propose! Overall - Hanel is not only an incredible photographer but he goes above and beyond to make the bride and groom feel at ease and stress free! Can not recommend him enough!

o kind and approachable at the very first meeting that we had zero reservations in choosing him even though we didn't know too many details about his style of photography or what it would be like to work with him. Turns out his style is both inventive and artistic, and and he is extremely easy to work with (we got so lucky!) At our engagement session, he went out of his way to get shots that were absolutely gorgeous. One particular shot of us on a bridge involved him walking out very far away and still try to give us directions so we look our best in the photos. To get to all the locations we had in mind, an unanticipated cab ride was involved. Even then, Hanel took that opportunity to capture some of our favorite shots. He really goes above and beyond in every way. For couples who are not comfortable in front of the camera - do not worry! Hanel will talk you through all the shots and he does not actually pose you, so everything looks natural and beautiful. My husband learned how to pose for photos ever since. On our wedding day, Hanel and his staff were punctual and so pleasant to work with. Looking back at our wedding photos, he did not miss a single significant moment and in fact captured a lot that we had missed. Our photos came out looking authentic and so very beautiful. Some of the ones at sunset are jaw-dropping gorgeous - our friends and family keep telling us unprompted months after the wedding (and I really do think it's the photographs that they love and not just us). Once again, Hanel and his staff went above and beyond - he even took photos while standing precariously on a moving golf cart (again, one of our favorites that's getting framed!). One of the staff who works at the venue said he had seen over 500 weddings and never once did a photographer do that. He was so patient in giving our huge wedding party directions, and took the time to learn everyone's name. All of the bridesmaids and groomsmen were so amazed by his incredible work ethic. At another later wedding, one of the groomsmen remarked to me that "yeah that photographer was not even close to Hanel". It's not a competition, but it does speak a lot to Hanel's professionalism and how great it is to work with him. On top of all this, he is so kind in his demeanor and so patient in answering all of our questions. He is overall just a very good person and the entire experience was a pleasure. He is the best and we can't wait to have him take our family portraits in the future.

stress free. Most importantly-we LOVE the photos that Hanel took of our wedding.

ia email, we were even more impressed with his passion and professionalism. He is patient, quick to respond, helpful with lots of suggestions, and flexible to accommodate our changing plans and requests. We recently had our proposal/engagement photo session with Hanel, and the experience was outstanding. He was great at posing the two of us and our friends. Hanel was so kind, attentive and friendly that the all of us felt comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. The photos turned out exceptional. My favorites are his candid shots; he captured the joy and excitement of the day perfectly. I’m so happy we have chosen Hanel as our photographer, and I can’t wait to have our wedding session with him. If you are looking for a dedicated, talented and kind photographer, look no further; Hanel is the best for the job!

ady recommended him to my friends! So great. I love how he edits photos!

y our wedding even more. From the very first meeting with Hanel, we felt an instant connection. Photography was one of the most important items on our list for our wedding day and we knew we had found the photographer for the job. Hanel’s passion for his profession was evident in the way that he spoke about his work and we knew that he would really be able to capture those special moments on our wedding day. We definitely warned him that we were an awkward couple that did not like being the center of attention and he told us not to worry. He was right. From our awesome engagement shoot, that felt more like friends exploring a city and taking cool photos along the way, to our wedding, Hanel offered tips to help us warm up to the camera and capture incredible shots. On the day of the wedding, Hanel and his team photographed our day beautifully. From the small details to the big family shots, all photographs came out perfectly. We had a few hiccups that were unforeseen and Hanel rolled right through them with poise and captured such amazing moments. We would recommend him a hundred times to anyone who is looking for a creative, passionate, talented, and fun photographer who will surprise you with the most remarkable photos from your special day.

ng him and couldn’t have wished for more. When searching for a photographer to capture our NYC elopement, Hanel’s journalistic style caught my eye. And when we spoke on FaceTime, I instantly understood his passion to capture a full love story and knew he was the right photographer for us. On top of this, his manner and perfect communication just spoke volumes - I really liked him. When we stepped out of the car at the conservatory Gardens on the day of our wedding, we hit it off instantly. He set about reading the vibe of each part of the ceremony and capturing it without fuss. And afterwards I can’t believe how he managed to make an afternoon of posing for photos so much fun! He calmly posed us, ensured we were looking our very best and found some exquisite shots. Thanks to him, we relaxed and had the best time - we felt like we were with a friend. Thank you so much Hanel, not only for capturing our day beautifully and producing an iconic set of photos, but for being our wedding witness, and for carrying my handbag around! I know we will see you again soon in NYC.

h every request we made. Thank you for your excellent work!

imited control, the photos came out great! He did my engagement photos, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, post-wedding brunch, and trash the dress. You're in good hands if you have your wedding indoors or a destination wedding. I chose to hire a local photographer for a destination wedding for his work and so I can trust someone that communicated with me every step on the way. He addressed any concerns I had and made me feel calm.

photographer that you will ever have the opportunity to hire. I was exhaustive in my search to find a NYC photographer whose work was elegant and sophisticated. There are SO MANY photographers out there, but so few with any actual talent and understanding of lighting, posing people, attention to environment and ambiance, etc. I know that sounds harsh, but just take a look around your Facebook or any wedding website and it seems like everyone with a decent camera thinks they are worthy of a National Geographic cover. If you are going to splurge anywhere, SPLURGE ON A GOOD PHOTOGRAPHER! And save yourself the regret and book Hanel right now. He will be professional, he will be calm, he knows how to pose everyone (no random, rushed grouping of people, no awkward poses), he has excellent ideas that will execute flawlessly and his work is STUNNING. Literal perfection. He truly understands lighting and has actual vision and taste! I really hit the jackpot with Hanel and I will never stop singing his praises. Even my wedding guests kept coming up to me during the day to tell me how impressive of a photographer he was. I’ve been to so many weddings where the photographer was mediocre at best and it showed when the wedding photos came in. My wedding photos look like a staged shoot and it’s all because of Hanel!!! I cried when I got my album because he truly captured everyone in their best light. My photos effectively tell a story from start to finish. No tacky poses, no ugly angles, no horrible coloring or cheap purchased filter packages. Hanel is the real deal. Book him before Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar snatches up all of his time!

and his team were punctual, professional, and even helped us wrangle family and friends for photos! Hanel’s and his team’s professionalism actually added order to our other vendors as well, making our day run a little smoother. Hanel captured not only great posed stills, but also amazing candids. Our parents hugging each other after the ceremony was a personal favorite. The photos have a photojournalistic feel and the quality is outstanding. They captured the joy, emotion and excitement of the day without feeling at all generic. After the wedding, Hanel delivered both the preview album and all the photos ahead of schedule. Our biggest challenge has been picking our favorites to share with family and friends, because we love them all!

bly patient and takes time to get to know the key family members to be sure to capture candid and posed shots of them. He is easy to communicate with and prompt to respond to questions. We highly recommend him!

and gives good directions. He puts us easily at ease during both the engagement photo shoot as well as during our wedding. He also accommodated specific requests from family and friends and was fine that we were dog enthusiasts and really wanted pictures with our dogs during the wedding. Even my family noticed his good nature and professionalism and kept complimenting on the photos we received. He captured every moment beautifully and we are so grateful we found him.

but Hanels personality really made us feel free spirited and comfortable! It totally was evident in the pictures. Even my husband who hates taking photos said “that was so worth it and I’m glad we took these pictures.” Hanels expertise in taking artistic pictures allows him to capture moments/scenes naturally. I totally loved him and will definitely use him again or any other important events. I’ve been raving to my friends about his talents and professionalize!

and text to his suggestions on photography locations. I am blown away by the quality of pictures we got back. Thank you so much for making us feel like movie stars and for spending your Tuesday with us <3
