h. Ask for Carly as your event coordinator. She is incredible! Engagement Party: I have always dreamed of a ULCC Holiday Event, and my dreams came true with our Christmas Engagement Party. It was on the 7th floor and just incredible. Carly brought all of my dreams to life, including bringing Christmas decor into the room early (they don’t typically decorate the room until later in the season). Carly made sure every detail was as I expected and more, and also recommended some amazing vendors (guests still rave about the cake!). The bartenders kept the drinks flowing all night. We even stayed a couple of hours after the party ended, and the staff let us hang out in the room and get additional drinks from the bar downstairs. It was so kind! Everyone had the best time, we had some crazy stories, and it was one of the best nights of the entire engagement period (after the proposal and actual wedding). Rehearsal Dinner: Carly made sure every detail was perfectly set. My husband and I had a very specific vision: we wanted the rehearsal dinner to feel like a journey through our most memorable trips. Carly helped us with the menu selections (cocktails based on our favorite cities, foods based on our favorite destinations), flow of the evening (perfect timing for cocktail hour, dinner, speeches, etc.), and the layout of the room (this was the trickiest part!).  I wanted to have the room laid out to cleanly flow from the rehearsal dinner straight to the welcome party. It was difficult, because the room was so large, but Carly helped us brainstorm it all. We went through so many iterations, and she was patient with each. We’d ask, “Can we bring in other furniture?” And Carly would send photos of all of the sofas in the club. We’d ask, “Can we lay out the tables like this?” And Carly would send a floor plan with a recommendation. Then, we’d say, “Can we lay out the tables like that? And Carly would send another floor plan with additional notes. Welcome Party: There were so many unknowns (guest count, arrival times with an open house, what time rehearsal dinner speeches would officially end, etc.), but Carly handled them all with ease. She made it feel so seamless! But where Carly truly went over the top for me is - we had a vision of laying out themed desserts based on our favorite trips. For example, a pink and orange tart to represent Hilton Head Island’s sunrise, along with a photo of us on a trip to Hilton Head Island, and a story about experiencing the sunrise. Carly understood the vision, helped us to execute it, and even helped us to pick the perfect serve ware. We explained to Carly how we thought the tables should look, so she invited us to ULCC to view a few different options and laid out cocktail tables with all of their serve wear options. It was so over the top and helpful! At the end of the day, this type of service allowed us to pick our favorite things & make the perfect rehearsal dinner and welcome party. I truly loved every party of working with ULCC, from touring the venue, to the tasting, to the actual event. Then, we went back for a 6-month anniversary celebration. If you are at all thinking of doing an event at ULCC, you must! But the best part is - it doesn’t have to be a traditional wedding, they can make any event so memorable & special.

e perfect size for a large or even intimate sized wedding. The food is also fantastic! We had our ceremony in presidents hall and reception in the Lincoln ballroom. Highly recommend this option if you intend to do your ceremony and reception at a single venue.

The weekend went perfectly from getting ready in the bridal suite through brunch on Sunday. Guests were especially complimentary of the incredible service throughout the cocktail hour and reception. The Lincoln ballroom was absolutely stunning and we are so happy we chose ULCC for our special day!

utely gorgeous and the wait staff and food/ drink service were unmatched. The minute I walked in the doors of the venue I did not have to think about a single detail as the team at Union League handled everything perfectly. 

ostly family wedding and gave us only 11 weeks to plan. Smaller ended up at 114 guests. The wedding could not have been more beautiful or more perfect if we had a year to plan it. Claire was very helpful and gave us great guidance. The whole event took place on the second floor with the cocktail hour/ceremony in the Heritage Room and the reception in Lincoln Hall. Claire worked with my daughter when she wanted the ceremony to be casual in the middle of the cocktail hour. We really appreciated that. The food was amazing. The room warm, cozy and very pretty. There was a snow storm roaring outside and the lit fireplace in the Lincoln Hall was so welcoming. The best part is a one stop shop with the venue and the food all provided by the ULC - no need to find a separate caterer or rent tables, chairs, linens. It was a beautiful, elegant, warm and super fun wedding. Thank you to Claire and the whole ULC team.

We could not have asked for a better person to work with, as he made the planning process go so smooth from start to finish. The club is absolutely beautiful and is the perfect venue for a classic, timeless, Chicago wedding celebration. The food is absolutely delicious and even the tasting experience was unforgettable. We'd give the Union League more than five stars if we could! The entire experience exceeded our expectations and our wedding was a dream come true thanks to Union League!

Joanne Diaz was incredible to work with — so easy to talk to and truly supportive throughout the process. She helped us bring our personal style to life in a place that holds so much meaning for us & our families. She made planning the wedding myself feel completely manageable. If you're considering self-planning your wedding, Union League is a big reason it was so doable for us. From the phenomenal catering and bar staff to the delicious food customized to our needs (yes, we had a mostly gluten-free wedding!), everything was handled with care. The hotel accommodations were excellent, and everyone we encountered showed such genuine kindness. We could go on and on about how perfect it was to celebrate at ULCC. It was everything we hoped for and more.

le. I can honestly say, there was no stress when planning this part of the night. Get to the day of, the bridal suite is beautiful- perfect for myself and 9 bridesmaids to get ready in. My husband and the groomsmen were able to use the facilities in the gym as well as the cigar lounge patio which made for some great pictures! The room is absolutely stunning and does not need a ton of flowers to make it look great in pictures. The food was delicious - we had so many people come up to use and rave about how good it was. We could not have asked for a more perfect night. Every was incredibly helpful from the planning, to hotel blocks, to night of. I HIGHLY recommend doing your wedding here. Ken was AMAZING to work with!!

In addition to direct support to the bride and groom, the other staff serving at the reception were exceptional! Multiple tables had told us how much they enjoyed their servers and how friendly and kind they were. We have always had the same experience at the Club when just visiting but it was so great to hear our guests received the same treatment. We cannot recommend this lovely venue enough!

- the gym facilities are superb. The food is wonderful. The staff is incredible, especially Carly. We don't know what we would have done without her. She helped us so much throughout the process. We are from out of town as well so we needed someone we could count on. Our reception was in the President's Hall, such a beautiful room with all the artwork and fireplace. It was truly a dream. Out-of-town guests will love ULCC, and it's in a great location to walk to many Chicago attractions. They really go above and beyond for weddings, even their menu options are out of this world. If you are thinking about booking this venue, do it. ULLC will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we will be back every year to stay at such a wonderful place. . She made sure to clearly communicate with us and our vendors, musicians, and guests throughout the entire day. Carly was an absolute pleasure to work with. She really went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and facilitate our mixed culture wedding. When we decided to have a Hindu ceremony, Carly played an integral part with ensuring important cultural elements were made possible. She ensured the Mandap was placed in the optimal location along with the florals and other décor. She coordinated with the chefs to ensure our food requests were all met and most importantly kept us and the event on schedule. Major thanks to the Chefs as well for their willingness to make Lebanese cuisine. It was absolutely delicious. A+ job by her and the staff at ULCC.

Our guests loved their stay in the charming hotel rooms and everything went off without a hitch. We could not recommend this venue, and Ken, the Associate Director of Catering, enough. We were looking for a place that knew what they were doing and would make it easy on us, and this was the spot. Not only was it totally stress free and no issues occurred, we were truly blown away with how beautiful everything turned out. Our classic wedding aesthetic was achieved and everything was a breeze with ULCC. Could not be happier with our experience! Thank you to Ken and the ULCC staff - we will be back!

Our guests could not stop talking about how stunning the venue was and how great the service was. The food, from the hors d'ourves to the dinner to the desserts were also top notch. A major perk is also that the Club has plenty of beautiful rooms for your guests, which is convenient and affordable. Our friends and family still cannot stop talking about how unique and special our wedding was, which is a true testament to the Union League Club. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience!

Not only is the venue stunning from the lobby staircase and 2nd floor space (President's Hall) where I hosted my ceremony to the Presidential Suite and the Lincoln Ballroom (where my reception was held). It is the heart and soul that the staff put into each event they execute, that make this venue stand out from the rest. From the moment you enter and are greeted by the front desk staff, to the banquet managers checking in with you to ensure the lighting is what you want during dancing. They are always one step ahead to ensure your every need is met and that you are happy. The food is delicious and the dinner service is superb. This is the type of venue, where after your event, your guests will be reminiscing on how magnificent their experience was. And that is what any bride wants...she wants her wedding to be memorable. The Union League Club is of such high caliber it is in a league of it's own when it comes to wedding venues. And the very best part of hositng your venue at the ULC is you get to work with Ken Severn who will truly make the whole planning experience a dream. He is the absolute BEST! I highly highly recommend the ULC to any considering bride (or someone looking to host an event).

The facility itself is stunning and the level of service our guests and bridal party received were impeccable. The Union League Club worked extremely well with all of our vendors and my wife and I didn't have to worry about a single thing; we got to enjoy every moment together. Our wedding was roughly one month ago and I am still receiving compliments from our guests. The food was delicious and the drinks were plentiful, including during our cocktail hour. This is the third wedding I've attended at the Union League Club and the other weddings have echoed my sentiments. Not only was it a perfect evening, the pricing was incredibly reasonable. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful our experience was. I truly commend Ken Severin and his entire team for making our wedding perfect.

He was extremely responsive to communications, also allowing us to communicate by FaceTime and email often which was greatly appreciated since one of us lived in a different state. We did the bulk of the planning for our wedding, and we had special requests primarily related to our morning Hindu ceremony and meal accommodations for the day. He quickly offered great suggestions and special food selections for both the luncheon and the dinner that helped blend our two cultures. The day of, everything happened like clockwork from the moment it was 6am: morning refreshments were delivered, the hair stylist, makeup artist, and decorations team all showed up (Ken also helped with contacting and confirming with our vendors in the few weeks before the wedding), and we began without a hitch. Our Baraat and morning ceremony was phenomenal and the evening just as spectacular, with our florists and photographers creating and capturing everything to the fullest. Our guests were constantly telling us how enamored they were with the events and how happily full they were with top-notch drinks (including incredible mocktails!) and food. The day seemed to flow effortlessly in a way that we can only attribute to having the best people working with us. With a family dinner on Friday night, two weddings, a luncheon, cocktails and reception on Saturday, and a family brunch on Sunday, we were so glad that the Club has such fabulous resources for creative food choices, rooms that are aligned with the tone and size of the various groups, and of course all supported by a phenomenal staff of people who are the ones who make it happen! From the precision planning of Ken and the Catering team, to the smiles and welcomes at the Front Desk, to the seamless execution of every meal, it was absolute perfection. To everyone at the Union League Club of Chicago, thank you so much for everything!

xtremely helpful. They do their own food and alcohol, and we wouldn’t have gone anywhere else. Both myself and my (now) husband are vegan, and they were extremely accommodating. Some of the best vegan and non-vegan options around- just ask for what you’re looking for, and they will help. We also had our ceremony and cocktail hour at this venue, so we were able to do it all in the same place. We were there from Thursday thru Sunday for pre- and post-wedding festivities. Two amazing restaurants with a great wine and cocktail list and an outdoor cigar lounge area on the 8th floor for socializing to top it off. Best part- your suite is free on your wedding night! This suite is basically an apartment, so getting ready the day of was a breeze for my bridal part. Cannot recommend highly enough. (Oh and they also have a whole list of vendors they’ve worked with in the past that should help you get started on those if you’re early into planning.)

He offered support throughout the entire process and even came up with a custom salad course and signature cocktail that we loved! Ken also made sure that my husband and I were able to enjoy some appetizers and a cocktail alone in our bridal suite after arriving at the venue prior to heading to cocktail hour so that we could take a few moments to ourselves after the ceremony. The ULCC is known for phenomenal food and service and they lived up to the hype! Our guests have been raving about the delicious dinner, cake, and late night snacks saying it rivals some of the best restaurants in the city. The availability of the room block was essential as we had many out of town guests and they were so thankful for the friendly service and staff who quickly responded to any request. The attention to detail and thoughtful service could not have been matched elsewhere. They really made us feel valued and special and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. The entire event ran smoothly and our guests have been raving about what a fun, beautiful wedding it was. We could not imagine a better venue to have held our wedding reception and are forever grateful for the hard work that Ken and the Union League Club put in to making our day absolutely perfect!

Further, the staff does a wonderful job with their meal presentation for each course at dining. The Union League Club prides themselves on this dining experience (as they should). Every single staff member from the front desk to the bartenders to the catering team is incredibly kind & supportive of your event. They make the event truly enjoyable for all in attendance. If you're lucky enough to work with Ken S., one of the Directors of Catering, you'll find he is one of the most knowledgeable & responsive professionals you can have for your event. He makes great recommendations from past events while still supporting your choices to make your event your own. He was a pleasure to work with. Overall could not have been more satisfied with our experience.

If I could do it again, I would not have hired a planner because he handled every aspect of the day with respect to our reception and coordinated with our band and florist. The ballrooms were exactly how I pictured our wedding to look. The food was excellent, the dancefloor never stopped, the bars were never backed up, and the ballrooms for cocktail hour and dinner were so beautiful. ULCC offers a room block, which is so convenient for out of town guests or even those who don't want to drive after a night of dancing. The entire venue is gorgeous, well-maintained, and photographs beautifully. Ken will make your wedding unforgettable, not just for you but for your guests as well. Our guests still comment on how much they enjoyed their evening at ULCC. I could go on and on...you will be so happy you had your wedding at ULCC!
