Tom is phenomenal!! We had an exceptional experience working with him from start to finish. From our initial call to after our wedding, Tom was communicative, professional, and FUN! We had a few calls leading up to our engagement session and wedding, and each time we were more excited to work with him. From posed pictures to candids and detail shots, he captured every moment, and us, perfectly. He is an amazingly creative talent and we couldn’t be more thrilled with our engagement pictures and our wedding sneak peek. Beyond his talent, he is a genuinely awesome person and such a joy to be around. We cannot recommend him enough!! Thank you, Tom!

Hey and thanks for visiting my profile! I’m gonna cut right to the chase. If you or your fiancé feel awkward or uncomfortable in front of a camera, then stop reading and call or text me right now! If this isn’t you, still read on because I have something for you too, duh. My ADHD superpower is the unfettered ability to connect with all people, make you smile, and always get you to laugh. Don’t get me wrong, I do love changing the mood to serious, or seductive, or somewhere light and whimsical in between. And I will always be on the hunt for a great creative opportunity. My first focus is to get all the “classic” wedding photo list images you’ve seen a thousand times, but in my own way that tells a story, and if I can, attach people or family members to those moments to make them more authentic. I’m there for family as much as I am there for you, the couple. I’m confident that I can make you feel and look like yourselves when the time comes, and I can prove it to you over a quick call.
Now, if you are the type that lives in the moment, carefree, and open-minded, we also need to talk! Nothing inspires me more than when couples (or individuals) offer ideas, or ask to try something. My answer will always be YES. Unless you might hurt yourself, then… maybe? Anyways, my energy is built to motivate when you need it, step back (or comfort) when you’re overwhelmed, or play body guard when you’re looking for a break. I’m sensitive to the energy around me, which makes me great at what I do. If this has you curious and thinking about things differently when it comes to picking a photographer, then reach out and we’ll dive deeper into what you’re looking to get out of your photo experience, both from a product offering, and as your wedding day field-guide.

I grew up in Chicago and at a young age developed a passion for cinema and photography. So, I studied Film & Video at Columbia College Chicago where I achieved a BA. I immediately moved to L.A. to work my first job in Hollywood as a sound editor on several studio feature films. 5 years later, I decided that this lifestyle wasn't fulfilling to me, so I started my wedding photography career in 2011, and have been loving it ever since. Each wedding I shoot I'm given an opportunity to tell a story, capture the beauty of the day, and fulfill my need to be creative. I can't believe I get to do this!

is very familiar with TC/the surrounding area and knows many of the vendors. He helped immensely with the timeline of the wedding day. I wish I could give him 6 out of 5 stars for the photos he delivered. They are absolutely perfect. He captured the love, fun, and excitement of our wedding day perfectly. Our engagement photos are also stunning. He made us feel so comfortable. You should definitely book with Tom!

Candid photos were really important to us, and Tom did the best job capturing all of our genuine expressions AND he got amazing photos of our wedding guests having fun at our wedding.

Oh! AND we took engagement photos with Tom - and we adore those. He did such a great job at making us feel comfortable and confident behind his lens, and we have so many beautiful photos to showcase this incredibly special time in our life. I would work with Tom again in a heartbeat.

r. Neither my (now) husband nor I are especially comfortable in front of a camera and were a little nervous about taking lots of pictures on such an important, emotional day. Tom knew exactly how to put us at ease and provided just the right level of instruction so we felt comfortable and still very much like ourselves.
I really appreciated that he took the time in advance of our wedding day to get to know us and figure out what style of pictures would feel the most "us" - his service never felt cookie cutter or like we had to take arbitrary photos we didn't want. On the wedding day, I couldn't believe how much FUN the photo sessions were; they're some of my favorite memories from the day.
We are extremely happy with our photos; in addition to the lovely portraits and family/couple photos, Tom did a fantastic job photographing the reception itself and really captured the spirit of the evening (and the dancefloor!). I love how easy it is to re-enter specific moments of the day in my memory just by looking at one of our photos.
I could not recommend Tom and Two Twisted Trees more.

Best money we spent on our wedding!! Tom is a seasoned professional, dedicated to his craft, fun, easy to get along with, and full of jokes. Planning our wedding from out of state,...
we were anxious about our vendor choices given we wouldn’t meet most vendors before the wedding day. With Tom, he was the easiest person to talk to on the phone, incredibly knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. We decided to fly up to Traverse City for engagement photos 9 months before our wedding. He braved the elements and took our photos in an actual blizzard. It was freezing but he didn’t complain, made us laugh, and got the most incredible photos of us.
On our wedding day, having him around was like having another friend (but one who was also a really great photographer). He made us feel so comfortable and at ease that it was easy to forget there was always a camera trained on us. When we got tired of the endless family photos, he helped get us out of the crowd and to a quiet place so we could have a moment to ourselves. Our family and friends have commented how kind and professional he was.
Tom recently sent us ~20 “sneak peek” photos and they are incredible. I am continually blown away by his skill. We are excited to see the rest of our photos and will forever be grateful to Tom for capturing our special day.
Between the engagement photos and our wedding day, he became a trusted advisor and a friend. If you are looking for a photographer that will make you feel comfortable, follow your lead, capture your special day, and deliver Hollywood level quality photos, Tom is you person.

nd the results! Tom went above and beyond, arriving before the wedding to capture beautiful shots of the venue, ensuring that even the smallest details would be remembered. He was incredibly easy-going, making the entire process fun and enjoyable rather than feeling like a task.
During the event, Tom moved seamlessly through the crowd, capturing amazing photos without disrupting the flow of the day. He had clearly put thought into the different shots he wanted to take, which helped maximize both his time and ours. Tom was also very courteous and understanding of our desire to be present at the reception, while still getting tons of photos of us.
For our engagement shoot, Tom even drove 30 minutes to meet us, and when the weather turned bad, he happily returned later that day to finish the session. He took the time to get to know our style, FaceTiming with us to go over his work and ensure we were on the same page. We were blown away by how quickly he provided us with a sneak peek of our wedding photos—just days after the event!
One of the best things about working with Tom is that you get all the digital files without having to choose from limited packages. This allowed us to enjoy every moment he captured without having to compromise. If you're looking for a photographer who is professional, thoughtful, and truly invested in your big day, we highly recommend Tom from Two Twisted Trees Photography!

disappoint. He was so great to work with leading up to the events - he scheduled Zoom calls with us and made sure he got a detailed idea of what we were looking for in our photos. He certainly did not fall short in making all of our wants and dreams reality in what he was able to capture on our wedding day. Tom is laid-back and approachable, but also very professional and efficient. He has a creative eye and artistic style, and really makes sure you are engaged and comfortable the whole time he is shooting. We are so happy with all of our wedding memories thanks to Tom and highly recommend him to anyone looking for unique and personal event photography services!

t photographer!
We were recommended Two Twisted Trees by our wedding planner, and we could tell at the engagement shoot that it was the right call. Tom made us feel so comfortable in a very uncomfortable setting — not only had we never taken professional portraits together, but we had decided to take the photos outside in the middle of winter! He made sure we spent plenty of time with our coats on, taking plenty of breaks, and his professionalism and friendliness made the whole afternoon something special.
At the wedding itself, Tom was working non-stop. He made sure to take plenty of time both before and after the ceremony to get all the shots on our photo list, and even when we got sick of smiling, Tom knew how to get the best out of us. We got married at an old cherry farm and he used the natural environment and the lighting for some spectacular results.
When the photos came in, we couldn’t believe how good they looked — we spent three hours on the couch just scrolling through them one by one! He was the only photographer at the event, but somehow seems to have captured every attendee and every moment - it felt like we got two shooters for the price of one! We shared the gallery link with the bridal party and everyone had a blast finding themselves and sending photos around.
We can’t recommend Tom enough. He got a lot of great shots out of very limited time, and worked with us the whole way to make sure we got all the shots we wanted, as well as some new ones he suggested on the fly. If you hire him for your wedding you won’t be disappointed.

I cannot say enough great things about working with Tom at Two Twisted Trees! We booked him as our wedding photographer and he provided great support throughout the entire process ...
– making us feel comfortable about the services provided, meeting with us in person and over the phone prior to the big day and guiding us through our wedding day with confidence. On our wedding day, not only did he provide the perfect recommendations on how/when/where to take photos, but he was great working with the other vendors and snagging candid shots. Not only do we LOVE our photos, but our bridal party and guests all still remember Tom by name and have gushed over our photos. Thank you so much, Tom!

d all the photos we wanted. I had a particular image in mind for my engagement photos and not only did he bring my vision to life, he utilized his artistic eye and gave us spectacular photos that I wouldn’t have thought of. Tom can scan unfamiliar areas and come up with numerous creative ideas using the environment. The photos always came back high-quality. He also has incredible editing skills. I ordered a dress online that appeared to be a vibrant cherry red. When it arrived, it was more of a plum color. Tom was able to take the pictures and go through each photo to make my dress the color I had wanted. It was so impressive and looked perfect.
He was very efficient when it came to the wedding day and family photos. He was also able to get more than enough photos of us and guests all on his own. He was also able to get photos from multiple angles as I walked down the isle, so we got photos of both my husband and my reactions to each other. He did an amazing job. He will make sure you get exactly what you want and beyond.
Thank you Tom, for helping make my wedding the best day of my life!

Both Drew and I knew as soon as we initially met with Tom that we wanted him to photograph our wedding. He was the first vendor we booked, even before our venue, and he stuck with ...
us when we postponed from 2020 to 2022 due to COVID. He is great with communication, fun to work with, extremely creative, and very organized! Tom took notes of our inspiration ideas, and he suggested scenes that we could incorporate. We did two engagement photo sessions with Tom (since we postponed due to COVID, we added a second photo session just for fun), and both sets turned out just beautiful!! Such a variety of scenes and unique poses and angles, and he truly captured our personalities and genuine emotion in the photos. Tom is very creative with lighting sources, and finds different ways to use lighting to get cool effects.
For the wedding day, our second shooter was Stefanie, who was also great to work with! Tom and Stefanie both have outstanding attention to detail, and they both worked flawlessly and efficiently with our videographers, DJ, and day-of coordinator. We received our wedding photos back quickly, and looking through them makes us laugh, smile, and relive all the happy memories from our wedding day. Tom perfectly documented the day. I'm so glad that Drew found the Two Twisted Trees website when we were looking for a wedding photographer, and whenever we need a photographer going forward, Tom is our top choice. Thank you Tom, for all of your beautiful photos and fantastic work - you are truly talented! For anyone looking for a photographer, Two Twisted Trees is the absolute best!

There is no other choice than using Two Twisted Trees Photography! Honestly, hiring Tom was the best decision we made!
He took so much time with us during our engagement session. ...
He was very professional, patient and made us feel at ease. He travelled to us and spent extra time for our engagement shot in the blistering heat without rushing us or sending us extra charges.
We had Tom for the entire wedding day from getting ready, first look, ceremony, reception and a fun night of dancing. We also had Brenningan for part of this time because we are 2 brides and needed an extra photographer for the morning and first look. This turned out to be the perfect choice and in the end was worth the extra amount of money.
We could not have been happier with how at ease they made us and our guests feel with a camera being around. They had great suggestions and photography skills.
Taking Bridal party pics was very well organized and hassle free. We actually ended sooner than we expected. Everyone raves about Tom and all of the truly amazing photos he captured.
