True Grace Makeup Artists

ng the planning phase, ALWAYS answering my calls and questions and with each call we ended up laughing a ton! With my first call with Jen I immediately felt a connection and knew she would be the best addition to the day! The hair and makeup trial was so fun with Jen and Jenna and Jenna was very flexible and worked with me on a couple style variations until I was completely satisfied. We all looked beyond gorgeous and the compliments we received were countless. The makeup was flawless and lasted all night! True Grace Makeup is amazing!

n on the phone that I loved her already... meeting her in person for the trial just sealed the deal. They not only made me and my guests look amazing, but they were genuinely wonderful to be around! They kept everything on schedule, and the morning stress free! Hire Jen and Jenna for your wedding! You won't be disappointed!!

autiful make-up skills and she was totally right!!! Jennifer is not only kind, enthusiastic, warm, and makes you feel immediately comfortable, but it is clear upon meeting and working with her how knowledgeable she is in this field. In the hair trial, she always explained what she was doing while she did it and was so open to feedback throughout, which made me feel comfortable in asking to adjust certain things to help give a better picture of the look I wanted on the wedding day. Her style is definitely more of a natural look, which I appreciated because I tend to not wear too much make up on a daily basis. On the other hand, when I asked to to add a bit more, she was totally able to take my feedback and integrate it into what she did on our wedding day. She did an absolutely fantastic job working with me and my 9 bridesmaids and mothers of bride and groom; we all truly felt that she had individualized and listened to what we wanted. We all felt beautiful, which as a bride, was exactly what I wanted. I would recommend Jennifer to anyone!!!

l at ease and relaxed when I needed it most. My hair and my daughter’s hair were beautiful. The hair stylist, Jenna did a wonderful job. The stylew were exactly what we wanted. Jennifer completed the look I wanted. She understood my vision for my wedding. Everything about my experience with True Grace was top of the line.

what they do, but are great at it, too! Jenn was so great throughout the entire planning process; she was so supportive & I felt she really genuinely cared about me & my needs as a bride. When her and Jenna showed up at our place to begin the day, it was a real party. We seriously had a BLAST - they were so fun. My 'maids were just as thrilled with them, and I've gotta admit, these ladies made us look GORGEOUS. Thank you sososo much to True Grace for the amazing job & for making it fun! (Side note: it was nearly 100 degrees the day of our wedding and I was sweating like a pig and whatever magical makeup Jenn used on me stuck throughout the entire day - NO running or anything, it was incredible!)

ergies eased any tensions I had on my big day. Jeni's makeup applications were classic and natural, which is exactly what I wanted. Chris worked well with a bunch of different hair styles and created beautiful, natural looks. Overall, I would high recommend True Grace Makeup Artists for your big day!

repeatedly asked it be secure. Jen insisted I get extensions, even though my hair had been done this way before. I was surprised with an extensions bill that was 2x what I was quoted& I never would have bought extensions had I known my hair would fall out. It was completely down after the 1st dance. My friends followed me around with bobby pins all night trying to fix it until we gave up. 4 people had to completely redo their hair before we left for pictures, 1 was in tears. They asked for alterations but were given attitude by Chris, who was rushing to a trial for another bride. I'd think a wedding of 10 should be prioritized over 1 trial. 2 were told the price was less for pixie hair & were charged full price. 1 described skin allergies to the makeup artist and was told ‘i’m allergic to bullshit.’ Brushes were NOT cleaned between clients. A few asked their makeup be fixed more than once because it wasn't what was asked & was ultimately fixed themselves. I was given a parking bill when initially assured it wasn't an issue. Knowing there was no time for disputes, Jen took advantage& overcharged. After the wedding we complained & she didn’t take accountability for the dissatisfaction. Jen didn't believe me and called a handful of my other vendors asking for proof of my hair falling out, creating an awkward situation. We couldn't come to an agreement on a refund, as she was only willing to give less than half of my services and a measly $20 for overcharging the pixie styles. After a month I didn't receive a refund& had to 'remind' her. She finally sent a check, for even less, with a threatening letter so the check was returned. Jen plays games with clients& made EXTREMELY negative memories. Look elsewhere, this business is a gamble and you don't want them to have a bad day on your big day.

ugh the entire morning while getting ready, which is exactly what a nervous or anxious bride needs to relax and enjoy the day. We all gave them pictures of what we wanted for hair and make up and they knew exactly what to do. I did not hesitate to ask them to change one minor detail of make up or hair because they are more than happy to do so and only want you to be completely satisfied. They really make you feel relaxed and treat you like a close friend. I couldn’t have asked for anything better for my big day!!

on never changed throughout the entire process. She was not only available and accessible, but also encouraged communication whenever I needed it, even when I felt crazy for changing my mind. (For those of you getting married, there may come a time when the stress of wedding planning makes you feel like somebody you can’t even recognize. It happened to me, not in a Bridezilla sense, but showed itself in my inability to settle on a hairstyle - at first I wanted it up, no pieces, so I wouldn’t have to worry about it, then maybe a few pieces to make it softer, which evolved into wearing my hair down. Crazy, right? Super out of character.) Anyway, I couldn’t give you a good explanation for why I was all over the place, other than I wanted to make sure I felt like myself on my day… my husband did too. And this is where Jen and Chris excel. They made me feel like a) I wasn’t crazy, and b) between the hair and makeup, they transformed me into a natural, more beautiful me. AND THEY DID IT ON TIME! You don’t have to worry about a thing! Beyond that, their energy, positivity and hilarity were the perfect way to start the day. My girls all loved them! It’s hard not to… what you see is what you get. They’re genuine, down to Earth people, who just want you to feel stunning on your wedding day. (And if you spit your mimosa out from laughing too hard, oh well!)

t :) They perfectly captured the look I wanted and I had such a great time working with them. I highly recommend them!

your girls so much fun. I am someone who wears literally no make up. I wear bronzer to not look like a ghost and that is absolutely it. I'm embarrassed to admit, but I didn't even know what foundation was when Jenn was asking me questions! Needless to say, when I have been in wedding or going to special events and getting my makeup done, I leave not looking like myself, which I absolutely hate. Jenn is the only professional that I have worked with that actually listened to me, and made me look like me. Anyone can doll someone up and just throw makeup on their face. It's so important you have someone like Jenn to listen to what you want! Chris did a phenomenal job with my hair, giving me a chic, sexy look, yet still classy. It was everything I wanted. His humor is exactly what you need while getting ready with your girls! They both are such a wonderful duo and work so well together. Thank you Jenn and Chris! ❤️

From the very beginning, Jen made working with her a pleasure. Both Jen and Chris were very warm and welcoming the day I first met them at my trial. The environment was relaxed and cheerful. I showed them some inspirational pictures off my 10,000 Pinterest wedding board. Needless to say the results were stunning! In addition, I happened to set up the trial the same day as my engagement photoshoot. Before leaving the salon, Jen touched up my make up while Chris re-curled my hair. When I received my engagement proofs I knew then that I made the best decision to go with Truce Grace Makeup for my wedding. Fast Forward 5 months, two weeks before my wedding I received a phone call from Jen. She just wanted to say hi, finalize some minor day- of details and discuss all of my wedding plans. When I hung up the phone, I wondered if I spoke to my makeup artist or a long time girlfriend. The day of the wedding was a blur. When people say it goes by quick, enjoy your day...BOY were they right! Jen and Chris arrived to my suite on time. I was again greeted with warm hugs and bright smiles. Both of them were so accommodating to scheduling in unexpected family who saw their work and wanted to look glamorous as well! Periodically Chris would check in with me to make sure I was ok. "Do you need anything bride?" or he would turn up the music and start dancing. He is extremely personable and connected with each one of girls. Chris was a great asset to my day and helped keep my nerves in check! I don't know where to begin with writing my review for Truce Grace Makeup. I felt I had a lot of imperfections with my dress and self image leading up to the day of my wedding. But after Jen and Chris did their thing...I felt like I belonged in a magazine. I remember looking in the mirror while getting dressed with my MOH and mom. I started to cry and said "I have never felt or looked this beautiful in my entire life." I owe this memory and feeling to True Grace Makeup. They are talented and caring individuals who care about the wants/needs of their customers. Jen & Chris- thank you for making me feel and look absolutely stunning on my wedding day <3 Corinne

or the professionals that will help you to look amazing on your special day, they are a MUST BOOK!!!!💕💁🏻

dule my trial, and overall just a sweet, fun, & skilled artist. My mother & mother in law both came with me to my trail. Both of these women haven't let anyone touch their hair (other than their hair dresser) in 20+ years. They were so impressed with Chris and Jenn's work that they got their hair & makeup done with True Grace Makeup the day of the wedding. To me, that is the one of the highest praises I can give! Ladies, if you are looking for an artist who is professional, reliable, and talented go with True Grace Makeup! I promise you won't be let down!

dled the contract part & put me in touch with Molly who is part of her team. She is so customer oriented and extremely responsive. Molly drove 1 hour to do the trial for me and met us at the hotel the morning of the wedding; everything was perfect. She has only the best makeup brands, all water proof, and a talented eye that can only be innate in an artist! She was so funny, professional, and it was evident she just loves what she does. I had a very diverse bridal party who all had very different styles and a VERY picky mom. Molly kept us on schedule throughout and I never had to worry or even think about anything. Everyone felt absolutely gorgeous. Most of all, I felt the most beautiful I ever had in my entire life. I looked flawless. It was the first (second, including trial) time in my life I ever liked my makeup more than what I can do for myself and the best part was I still looked like myself. I wish I could have her do my makeup everyday! Seriously look no further than Jennifer & Molly to take care of you on your wedding day!! She gave me touch up lipstick & mascara to take with me to venue also but I didn't even need it because my makeup didn't budge on a hot august night where I was crying at all. THANK YOU & I'll miss working with you both!!

o so much fun to be around--they were truly the highlight of getting ready for the wedding. They are such pros at making you feel happy, comfortable, and beautiful--what else could you need? I only regret that the wedding is over so I can't hang out with them again.

ake you feel so comfortable! I can not wait for them to come and do my hair and makeup for my wedding! I would highly recommend them for your hair and make up for your big day!! <3

ted for me bc we were driving from NYC. On the wedding day they were timely and professional but so much fun. They listened to me and were great at what they do. I trusted their opinion and that made everything go so nicely. My hair and make-up was perfection and so were all my bridesmaids. LOVE LOVE then and highly recommend them.

-up on so I wanted a natural look. Without a cake of make-up, she made me look so beautiful, people couldn't stop commenting. Chris is so talented with hair and I wish I had the money to hire him to do my hair every day! I simply showed him pictures of what I liked and he worked his magic and my hair was perfect! Many of the other woman in my party had no idea what they wanted and he gave each of them a style they loved. Most brides cry when they find their dress - I cried at my hair and makeup trial. You won't be disappointed by them.

meone who could give me a natural look without looking overdone. Jennifer and Chris did all that and more. Not only did my pictures come out perfect, they are the most fabulous people you will ever meet. Jennifer and Chris were honestly one of the best parts of my wedding day. Despite the fact that it was early in the morning, they had myself, my bridesmaids and mom cracking up all morning. We were having too much fun to get the jitters! They got to every single girl without rushing, even though every single party member decided to get an extra service last minute. Even now, my bridesmaids still talk about our experience and all the fun we had that morning.

he best time ever with them! Not only did they sing along to songs with us, they made each one of us feel SO special and beautiful. They kept the conversations going, opened up a happy atmosphere and even as they were leaving there were hugs everywhere. My mom ran down the stairs to give her a hug. Not only so, but I changed my mind about the make up and hair after the trial, and they were able to meet everyone of my wishes. My first look in the mirror brought tears and hugs! Everyone of my bridesmaids, my mother, my mother in law, my sister in law… got compliments on how beautiful they looked that day, and it lasted… ALL through the night. They are a wonderful duo, very professional, super positive & easy going. I highly recommend them!

to be a bit more natural, which is what I was looking for. No caked-on foundation or hard hairspray hair for these two! I actually considered doing my own hair/ makeup or asking a friend to, and boy am I glad I didn't. These two have the wedding-specific know how that make them so perfect for your big day; What looks best in photos, how to make your hair/ makeup stay perfect ALL day, how much time it takes. I absolutely loved the way they did my hair and makeup!! Many of my bridesmaids came up from NYC where they've had hair and makeup done for weddings and they all raved about how amazing Chris and Jen were. And of course, like all the other reviews note, they really do have the best personalities! They're not going to let you dwell on your nerves because they'll keep the mood lighthearted and the laughs coming all day. Jen is just the absolute sweetest, and Chris entertained us with hilarious stories (and made a new best friend in my mom). I was thrilled with the work they did for me, my bridesmaids, mom and aunts, and I can't thank them enough!

trust pictures and other brides' reviews, which paid off. We first met during Christina's hair/makeup trial and right off the bat I knew we were all a perfect match. They made us feel at ease, worked with all of our suggestions and the trial went smoothly. Jen made her look her natural self but enhanced features for a perfect look; Chris worked his magic and her hair was stunning even for the trial. Of course, like many brides day of wedding came and my daughter completely changed her mind on style. We were worried but as the true professionals they are, Chris didn't even flinch. We showed him the picture and he went to work; the end product was perfection. Jen and Chris made us all look amazing and I credit them for keeping her calm with their humor and antics that kept her relaxed and enjoying her day. If you want to look amazing and have fun getting ready on your special day, then this dynamic duo of Jen and Chris is the team for you.

make-up she used a great product that didn't make anything feel too heavy at all. Didn't pressure me into any one thing and basically told me whatever I want more of or anything like that, to let her know and she'd change it up for the day of! She's such a sweetheart and absolutely hilarious. Chris too, he's so nice and funny, they are an absolute blast to work with. I was worried about what he could do with my hair as its very curly and not very long right now, its right around my shoulders now, so I wasn't sure how we would do an up do. But he did and I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup. They are affordable and like I said do amazing work and they are an absolute blast to work with. My hair held up perfectly and sure as heck like Jenn said that makeup didn't MOVE even when I did cry, nothing ran, smudged or anything, it looked as if I had just gotten it done, all. Day. Long. I am hoping before I move to California I've got a reason to work with at least one of these two again because they are great. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs hair and/or makeup done for any occasion!

ank you so much

Grace Makeup they were to my house on time, they finished everyone in a timely fashion and gave us enough time to relax before the craziness began! We didn't have to rush through anyone's makeup, and they catered to everyone's makeup preference. If you want reliable service from very talented people use True Grace. -Ashley Hilton

iately wowed by Jen when I met with her months before my wedding. With all her knowledge and experience I knew I was in GREAT hands. Jen and Chris were kind enough to come to my hotel the day before the wedding for my trial since I live in Rochester. This was GREAT and another example of what they'll do for their clients. As soon as they arrived it was like they were old friends, no nerves what so ever! Chris immediately knew what I wanted done with my hair and Jen's vision for my makeup was perfect. The next day they arrived for the wedding and the party continued. Chris did an amazing job on the girls hair, by just talking to the girls he was able to style them and they absolutely loved his work. Jen went above and beyond with our makeup and we all looked stunning. I have never felt so beautiful and received compliments all night on how natural and beautiful my hair and makeup looked. We continued to look gorgeous for the whole day and night as well, even with all the hugging, crying, and dancing we did! I can not recommend Jen and Chris enough, they really are THE BEST! You would be so lucky to have them with you on your big day!

ection with Jen right away while booking her and Chris way ahead of my wedding. Finally meeting them at my trial run was amazing. They both knew exactly what I envisioned, and executed perfectly... in the midst of a ton of laughs! I knew I had made the right choice. Chris and Jen put both myself and my mom (who was very hesitant) completely at ease. Day of came, and the girls, my mom and I looked perfect! Between the mist/rain for some pictures(and my refusal of an umbrella), our dance party of a reception, and the after party, my makeup and hair stayed flawless and perfect. Best of all, I looked like the bride I had wanted to be. Thank you both, you are incredible artists!!

nerves at ease as they use their expertise, laughter and listening skills to give me a flawless, beautiful, natural, modern bridal look. They listened to my mom's and I preferences and did not stop trying different looks until we were satisfied. They are very patient especially with myself who is very indecisive and didn't really know much about makeup hahaha! I didn't only look and feel my best on my wedding day but I also learned daily makeup tips. The only negative I can write is that they are not around to make me laugh and do my makeup/hair everyday !

bridesmaid the fun and fabulous looks they each wanted. Our group of girls was looking for a fun, stress free and upbeat day while getting ready for the wedding and True Grace Makeup provided just that! All of bridesmaids kept commenting on how happy they were with the make up and experience. I have been in a lot of weddings and the hair and makeup has been a disaster! I was so happy and relieved to work with people that were on the same page as us and really know their stuff! They use high quality products, arrived on time and never made us feel rushed. I would recommend True Grace Makeup to any bride!!!

so so SO glad I did! Jen made me feel like we were old friends when we spoke on the phone. Jen and Chris (amazing hair stylist) came to my house to do my makeup and hair trial and also came to my room at my wedding venue. They were hysterical and a lot of fun! All of my bridesmaids were laughing with them and having a great time which actually calmed my nerves. I do not wear a lot of makeup normally and I am so glad I hired Jen and Chris because they made me look awesome. The makeup stayed on all day and did not come off even when I was crying! I want to get married again just so I can re-hire them! ha ha I would definitely recommend them to any bride, you won't regret it!

y put me at ease. I don't wear a lot of make up and wanted a very natural look. Jen knew right away what would look good on me. She came to my house for the trial appointment and to the venue the day of the wedding. My family and bridal party absolutely loved her. She had everyone laughing, and talking right up to the ceremony. I received so many compliments on my make up, people told me I never looked more beautiful. They wanted to know where I found Jen. I spoke with many people before Jen and was shocked at how reasonable her prices were compared to everyone. Her prices, experience and personality are second to none. Selecting Jen to do my make up was the best decision I made. I can not thank her enough for making me look and feel like a princess.

Quality, Top Choice, Top Love in the Capital Region. xoxo

axing and stress free! I also don't typically wear a lot of make up and she kept my look beautiful and natural. I highly recommend her!

bride, and everyone was extremely happy with the experience having their makeup done and how their look turned out. Jen is extremely outgoing and accommodating, and an absolute pleasure to work with! I don't wear very much makeup as a rule, and Jen worked with me to get the perfect look for my wedding day. It's amazing how much of a difference Jen's makeup made, because everyone who had their makeup done still looked amazing in photos from the very end of the night! I HIGHLY recommend Jen and True Grace Makeup!!

eup look amazing but they were so personable and fit right in with my family and friends! It was like they were part of the wedding, so much so that we invited them to stay for it! I got SO many compliments on how beautiful I looked that day and my makeup stayed flawless until I washed my face the next morning! Through tears, hugs, and lots of rain I had no worries about my makeup. Thank you so much Jen and Chris... you guys are the best!!!!

ove her.

offee for three hours! The trial was included for me and it was greet to meet them both and to try a few different styles. We took photos so that I could see what my face looked like on film and I was blown away by their work and knew I had selected right! The day of our wedding they came to my parents house to get me and the girls ready and they were just a blast. Their work was stunning and they were a pleasure to share our wedding day with!

She was so fun, patient and knowledgable of health and beauty, specifically makeup. She made me look and feel more beautiful than ever on my wedding day.  I don't normally wear too much makeup but definitely wanted to stand out for my wedding. Well, she made me stand out AND made me look completely natural!  My husbands family who weren't going to get their makeup done had to when they saw how incredible Jen had made everyone look!  I wish I could have her do my makeup everyday.  Love her!!  Chris is amazing too, made our day so relaxed and fun!  True Grace Makeup is a perfect choice for every bride!

hris (doing hair) were perfect. They are so helpful, stayed right on schedule, and were tons of fun! On the day of the wedding, they came to us at our venue and we all got ready together. My girls and I don't get dolled up too often, so both Jen and Chris knew exactly what to do to make us comfortable with our different styles. The price is very good - you even get a lip gloss to keep for touch-ups and fake lashes are included for the bride. I'm so happy that I went with True Grace Makeup for my big day - they really made me feel at ease and I knew that my groom would love my look, which lasted throughout the whole reception and a lot of dancing! I recommend TGM to every bride in the area. You won't regret it.

True Grace and she assured me that she would make sure that I had the best team she had on my wedding day even if SHE herself was not available. The feeling of being in good hands on the day of your wedding is really all a bride can ask for. We met for dinner and scheduled a trial And I knew she was a blessing in disguise in such an unfortunate pickle. I can say I am so happy my first makeup artist went off the radar because I would not have ever had the chance to work with True Grace. My makeup was flawless, I have to admit it stayed so long I wore it to brunch the next morning! As well as my hair, Chris as usual did a fabulous job. I would recommend this team in a heartbeat. They truly encompass True Grace. They are both extremely talented at what they do and you can tell it is a passion...not to mention they are such fun am energetic people :)

she's just the absolute sweetest and insanely fun to have around on your wedding day! My maid of honor had had a small amount of facial surgery a week before the wedding and had her stitches out the friday before our big day. She was a little concerned about having her makeup done over such a fresh wound. Jen, listened to her concerns, put her right at ease and was more than happy to work with her on what she wanted to have done. In the end you could BARELY tell my MOH had any mark on her face at all and even remarked at how gentle she was around the area. Long story short, she's the best and you NEED her at your wedding!

hris were amazing. I originally wasnt going to have my hair or make up done because I typically keep both pretty simple but was convinced by family to splurge. I was a little nervous, I didnt know anyone in the field and didnt want to look like a clown with prom hair....so I asked my photographer who to use and i am so glad he suggested Jen. She and chris didbhair and make up for me, 2 bridesmaids and my mom, all of whom have different styles. My sister, for example, came in with her own fake eyelashes, wanted a dramatic updo she had already picked out a photo of and dark, smokey eyes. I on the other hand only knew that i wanted an updo and "light" make up. Jen helped me understand how to choose appropriate tones and shared some make up tips that i never learned :) not only were she and chrisntotally professional but they were happy and soooo sweet....even though they had to meet us at 7am on a cool rainy fall morning. I couldnt have been happier. And the prices were WAY LESS than I expected and much less than what others had quoted me (I got some other quotes since I didnt know what to expect with pricing). I would have paid much more if I could have known upfront how happy I and my bridal party was going to be with the results :) thier shinning personalities and the chemistry they have when they work together were just as impressive as each of thier individual talent. Its great to work with an expert but some personalityband kindness go a long way too. I would definitley recommed Jen and Chris to ANYONE, whether they are a makeup artist and hair stylist themselves or have never had either service before, they are truly talented and amazing!

a more beautiful form of yourself. When she's done you just can't stop staring at yourself because she gives a beautiful, enhanced natural look. She makes everyone around her feel at ease and have fun. If I could go back and do my wedding day over, I would pick True Grace every time. My mom was absolutely amazed with how her makeup turned out. All my bridesmaids loved theirs as well. All in all everyone looked absolutely amazing and have a blast while Jennifer was at our home. I feel like I gained a new friend through the process.
