Theresa did an outstanding job on my make-up, as well as my mother, mother-in-law, and sister’s make-up. I was worried about having it done professionally, because the last time I had it done by someone else, I told them I wanted a natural look and I felt like a bit of a clown. When Theresa was done with me, I looked and felt exactly like myself but I was glowing and everyone kept saying how stunning I was. I was blown away at how talented she was. She kept the look natural but gorgeous for the moms and bridesmaids, too. I was also worried because I tend to have allergic reactions to a lot of products, but she used very high end, excellent quality products that left my face feeling light and fresh with no reaction at all. The best part was that my face looked exactly the same at the end of night as it did right after she put the make-up on in the morning. It stayed ALL DAY LONG. To top it all off, Theresa was so professional and personable the entire time. She kept the atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable. If you want to feel like a queen on your wedding day, Theresa is your girl!

Not to mention she finished us earlier than we had planned in the timeline, even though a couple of bridesmaids were late. She brought out our best qualities and made us look glamorous without overdoing it. We still looked like ourselves, just super elevated and elegant. I received more compliments on my wedding makeup than i can even count! And the best part was, my makeup lasted all day and night! ion and I am so thankful for how beautiful it turned out for me and my bridesmaids. She listened to my feedback from the makeup trial and really did a great job highlighting the beautiful features of all 5 of us girls who all have very different colorings, but still made a cohesive look!
Some things that kept this from a 5 star review were what I felt was a lapse in professionalism. One example is that the makeup trial was in her apartment - at her kitchen island, she arrived in sweats on the day of the wedding, I felt she could have had a bit more sanitary one use applicators, and she made myself and my sister feel a bit like we were inconveniencing her with my sister's baby who was a bit more in a needy stage and didn't want to be put down. Theresa worked around it and still did a beautiful make up application, but we could tell it wasn't something she felt she should be navigating around. After the wedding when "checking in" she asked for a review from me, and then less than 48 hours later texted me again asking why I hadn't written a review yet. It resulted in a bit of a terse text communication which left a poor tint to the service. Overall I am very grateful for the beautiful job she did to help make all 5 of us feel so beautiful with our makeup. I also wish she had given me a touch up kit or anything that I could have used to reapply after the ceremony or even photos. My lipstick was basically completely gone before the cocktail hour even began.

I did want to gently clarify a few points, as I always strive to provide a consistent and professional experience for every bride. My makeup trials are held in my home studio space, which is communicated as part of my booking process and has been my standard practice for many years. I also maintain strict sanitation protocols, cleaning all products, brushes, work surfaces, and my hands between each client.
Regarding your sister and her baby, I’m so sorry if anything came across as anything other than supportive. That was certainly not my intention. I remember checking in with her to ensure she felt comfortable and offering space or a break if needed. As a mom myself, I always aim to create a calm, accommodating environment, especially in situations involving young children who may be having a difficult morning being away from mom & amidst the hustle & bustle of the day.
For wedding day attire, I wear comfortable, non-distracting clothing such as jeans or dark pants due to the long hours and hands-on nature of the work. As a working artist, I am constantly handling products and tools throughout the day, and it’s not uncommon for makeup to transfer onto my clothing. For that reason, I choose practical attire that allows me to work efficiently while still maintaining a clean, professional appearance. Hair and makeup artists also aim to remain unobtrusive in the background of photos. This has been my standard for 18 years in the industry and has never previously been a concern.
In terms of touch-up items, I do offer lip products for purchase for brides who would like one for the day, but they are not automatically included unless requested. I also encourage brides to wear their makeup throughout the day after their trial to test longevity, which you did, and there were no concerns raised about the lip color at that time.
Lastly, I want to sincerely apologize again for any frustration around my automated review follow-up. I never intentionally reached out within 48 hours or asked why a review had not been left. I send a general, automated end-of-season follow-up to all of my brides, and unfortunately, yours was sent closer together than intended. Once I realized this, I did apologize, as I never want anyone to feel pressured.
I truly value feedback and am always looking to grow, while also wanting to ensure my practices are clearly understood and fairly represented. I’m grateful to have been part of such a special day and wish you nothing but happiness in this next chapter.

She was open to all the changes I requested and truly listens! Her professionalism, punctuality and sanitary practices were everything and so much more. She truly has the magic touch. Prompt, professional, great conversation, the whole package!
