d reception) were 10/10.  From the first message, Bruce’s enthusiasm came through -  he wanted to make sure that we’d have the best dance party at our wedding. We wanted to have a saxophone and Bruce said no problem. We wanted to have a clarinet and he said no problem. For our first dance, they had a demo track recorded so that we could practice with the actual music. He worked with us on our song selections for the procession, recession, wedding party announcement, etc.  Melissa’s voice was the reason we found TheGrooves and ultimately decided on working with them. Her voice was stunning (as was Bruce’s and the other female singer that we didn’t catch her name). Bruce also rapped! And did a very convincing John Lennon “Twist and Shout”! He also helped us stay on track with the night’s sequence and came up to us during dinner to chat which was very nice.  The band’s music selection was great. We felt like there was a good progression to the night, with a good mix of songs, though at the very beginning of the dancing, we thought that there could have been one less Motown-type song, but this is a small nitpick: We gave Bruce a list of songs that we liked, but we knew that some on the list weren’t the most danceable songs and relied on Bruce’s expertise to select the best danceable songs. Our guests were very happy dancing the whole night, so we are happy! One thing that I think illustrates how good Bruce and the band were is earlier in the wedding, as the ceremony was getting underway, I caught Bruce’s eye and he gave me a big smile and a nod -  a very nice personal touch that I think other vendors might not take the time to do so. We felt we weren’t “just another wedding” but the most important people to him.  If you want a live band for your wedding, with live music for the ceremony and reception, then go with TheGrooves. 

we were excited about their sound. But Bruce and the band made our planning process absolutely seamless. They were so responsive and communicative throughout. As a couple that had some requests of songs that weren’t generic, Bruce and the band made sure to make our vision come to life. When it came to the day of, everything was perfect. The ceremony music was everything we envisioned. Atndthe reception was an ABSOLUTE party. We were fielding compliments all night about how incredible the band was, and we just had an absolute blast. IF you’re not sold yet, we got this incredible service for an extremely reasonable budget. I can’t recommend the Grooves enough. Bruce, Melissa, and the rest of the crew- thank you for making our wedding day perfection!

The Grooves play a wide variety of music that is entertaining to all ages. Their quality of sound is great, and they find a way to engage everyone at your gathering. loved what I saw on their website but that hardly compares to how wonderful they actually were at our reception! Bruce, the band leader was especially communicative throughout the months leading up to the wedding. He reached out every few weeks to make sure we were on track and talk about how he and the band could make the night more perfect for us. The Grooves have a huge list of songs but they were willing to learn our wedding song and any other requests we had. We were requesting With This Ring by the Platters because we wanted to learn the Carolina Shag. The band played that perfectly and created a full Shag set to keep my NC family and us on the dance floor. They were very flexible throughout the night willing to make adjustments as needed for our schedule. They worked seamlessly with our MC and the catering captain. Our caterer even mentioned how good they were...and I imagine she sees a lot of bands. I think the most important review I can give though is from my guests. I had countless people come up to me all night long and ask "WHERE did you find this band?" and proclaim "I LOVE this band!" or "Good job picking the band!" My advice to you is to book them as soon as you can!

e and they had our date available! The only thing I kept hearing is, you can’t book your music unless you hear them live. So we took the trip to see them at a showcase gig. If you are unable to make it out to see them live let me tell you what you see in the videos is what you will see live! We were thrilled their videos did not falsely represent them. Communication with Bruce was extremely easy. I am a bit particular and he was great to work with. Another thing I really liked is he was readily available to answer questions. Some of the other bands I found on the knot would take a week or more to respond. Communication is important to me. The price was super affordable and they were able to stay within / work with my budget. Not only that but the day of they were prepared and ready on time and they were super flexible. I gave them a schedule before hand, unfortunately my venue was running behind and they accommodated that no problem. They sounded just as good as we expected, harmonies were amazing and they had everyone up on the dance floor dancing around for an unforgettable night!!!

howed up early to set up and had everything handled. We had some unfortunate heavy rain, but the band worked with us and we made it work. They are true musicians and absolutely rocked the party! Everyone from all ages was dancing and kept coming up to tell me how good the band was. I would 100% recommend them for any event. They MADE the night absolutely unforgettable.

They were so accommodating and put the bride and grooms needs well above their own. They are dependable, professional and very respectful to the requests that were presented.
