was doing much of the planning since my daughter works full-time and attends graduate school at night. Initially, Marita invited me and my daughter to meet with her several months prior to the wedding and we thoroughly discussed our plans. She kept in regular contact with me between our initial meeting and the wedding. Marita read and responded to all of my emails in a very timely manner and nudged me when she needed additional information. We also met two days prior to the wedding when I dropped off the escort cards, gift card box, and decorations. Marita provided essential advice during the planning process.  As the wedding day approached, she reached out to all of the vendors multiple times to make sure that everyone was prepared. Marita attended the rehearsal the night before the wedding and provided essential guidance regarding how to arrange the ceremony. On the wedding day, she arrived at the venue prior to the wedding party and vendors so she could greet everyone and understand what was being done. As a result of her excellent coordination, the wedding and reception went extremely well.  Mari provided strong support.  Timeline in hand, both were ahead of so many things.  While we did have a professional photographer documenting everything, Marita took photos and videos with her cell phone and sent them to me that night and the next morning which was much appreciated. At the end of the evening, Mari extracted flowers from one of the large florist bouquets to transform them into a lovely and manageable arrangement in a vase I brought so they easily could be transported back to the hotel. She also checked in with me to make sure all went well on the return trip to the hotel. It is very clear that Marita is extremely experienced and will do an excellent job in planning, and providing planning and day-of-the-wedding services. I cannot praise her enough!

She was very knowledgeable about weddings and helped us in many of our other decisions! In fact, when our next child gets married, we hope to hire her as our wedding planner for the entire event! Oliver did the photography for the wedding and took such exquisite and amazing pictures. He shot from different angles and creatively captured special moments perfectly. e. Marita is not only incredibly talented, but she is an absolute joy to work with! I had no vision whatsoever of what I wanted, and somehow, Marita translated what little direction I gave into such wonderful floral arrangements that it took my breath away! Add to that, Marita never once pressured us to go outside our budget - and her prices were reasonable enough that we were actually able to add more displays than we originally planned because we wound up having wiggle room in our budget. Even more, Marita has this wonderful way of making you feel like you've been friends for years. She's warm, welcoming, and incredibly patient - all qualities that made a world of difference to my husband and I because it kept us at ease throughout the entire planning process.

ing was at a vineyard in July, and I was set on having muted pinks, and crème flowers. Marita is a lover of bright color, but she understood my vision, and was able to deliver. We met twice before the wedding, and she showed me every single flower she would be using. Certain individual flowers were too bright for me, so she found muted alternatives. I wanted pale earthy green vines, and loose bouquets, and again, she completely understood. I also requested a certain shade of peonies, which were challenging to get in July. But she worked hard to find them, and got the exact kind I wanted. She’s also very respectful of budget, and was much more reasonably priced compared to many other vendors. But I do not feel at all that her services are of lesser value. On the day of the wedding I hardly saw Marita, but was able to trust she would do a phenomenal job. I did not feel the need to have anyone check on what she was doing – we had set a plan and I felt confident in her. And she absolutely delivered. Looking back in pictures I am blown away by the beauty of my bouquet, and our table arrangements. She truly brought my vision to life, and I am so grateful!

The cascade bridal bouquet of lillies, blue delphinium, and roses that she made me was spectacular, and the reception centerpieces were gorgeous. She really went above and beyond, and was patient and understanding of my slow communication throughout the planning process. She understood how overwhelming it is to be a bride planning your wedding, and she was flexible with us. I met her with 2 days later ( I was swamped) and she greeted me with a hug :) Marita listened to each want, need, and desire I had and we came up with a quote/price. Yes it only a picture but it was SO perfect. Marita captured exactly what I wanted and asked her to. Before the preview, Marita would check in with me, sending me wishes, and inquiring if I needed anything from her. Hands down best decision I made in my vendor selection. Being that I eloped, none of my friends were involved in the planning process. Marita stepped up and gave me all of the the candid advice and feedback/guidance I needed! She was not only able to provide a hair and make up stylist, limo services, and other vendors, but she was willing to set up all of the reception decor for me, not just the flowers. re so accommodating! We had hoped to have Cherry Blossoms grace the table by the Cherry Blossom SIgnature cocktails, but Cherry Blossoms are not blooming the end of May. Sure enough, Marita kept buds cooling in her flower cooler until the reception and they were blooming beautifully the day of the event! The arrangements and bouquets were spectacular. The colors and arrangements were stunning. Our guests have all been commenting on how fabulous the flowers were. We have seen the preliminary photographs from our wedding and are overwhelmed with how gorgeous they are, too! Oliver was creative in seeking the perfect spots for photographs around the cathedral. My favorite shot of the newlyweds was in an alcove that I didn't even know existed! We are beyond thrilled with this couple and their talents. In addition to the flowers and photography, their experience with weddings, in general,enabled everything in our wedding to go smoothly. They are just top-notch!

We really appreciated this because we'd heard a lot of stories from friends about florists trying to upsell you on wedding flowers. This was not the case with Marita. She listened to exactly what we wanted and was happy to work within our budget. She didn't push things on us, and went out of her way to make our wishes a reality. While we didn't spend a fortune, our flowers looked so elegant and expensive and all of our guests thought so too! Also, Marita was so professional and responsive throughout the entire process. We found that a lot of vendors stopped responding to our e-mails/questions once they'd received their deposits, but Marita always responded promptly and went the extra mile. (She went searching for the black & white river stones that I wanted so much, but couldn't find online, and she found them!). The whole experience was so personal and completely stress-free!!! I can't say enough about Holland Flowers and would highly recommend them.

My initial visit went very well. I had not clue what I wanted. But Marita was very helpful and helped me with deciding the best look for my wedding. My colors were orange and gray. The bouquets that Marita provided turned out beautifully. Another fact that had me worried was that my wedding was at 930am! I was so worried that one of the vendors would be late. But Marita was there WAY before I was and had everything set up and ready. She was such a pleasure to work with. Her prices are very reasonable and her flowers are gorgeous! I definately recommend The Wedding Loft over the many I researched in the Northern VA area.

When I first contacted her to get a general idea of how much it would cost when using such such flowers, she emailed me back saying $500 deposit is required to give quotes. Given the fact that we didn't have much time, we just sent her the check thinking it shouldn't be a problem - after all, she was "recommended" by our venue. BIG MISTAKE. I didn't know exactly what I wanted except that I didn't want roses. So from the beginning I told her no roses. I was hoping she would make suggestions or recommendations since I wasn't too sure about what style I wanted. She didn't make recommendations other than putting roses in all the bouquets. Majority of my flowers at my wedding ended up being roses. She doesn't remember the things you tell her - such as "no roses" - and just keeps asking you what you want. She was very unpleasant to work with throughout the entire process. We got attitudes from her and repeated "reminder" emails on the balance we still owed. Wedding planning itself can be pretty stressful, we the DYI brides know that. Vendors like Wedding Loft Holland Flowers definitely raises the stress level by...let me just say, a lot. Half way through the planning, I stopped talking to her and begged my husband to deal with her. She is all over the place. In 3 months, we received more than 5 different quotes with all different prices.Very unprofessional. Very unpleasant. We ended up paying almost double the amount that she initially had quoted us. The flowers were pretty. I wasn't happy with the mini bouquets nor family boutonnières but my bouquet was pretty - after pulling out some greens that were hanging too low and out of place. My wedding was perfect except for the flowers. The fact that she was so difficult to work with makes the flowers less pretty, hahaha, if that makes any sense, because it's the whole experience. I looked at my flowers and was reminded of how unpleasant and upsetting it was working with her. I do not recommend this florist. Not even to my worst enemy.

and I was beginning to worry; everyone of them had plopped down about 10 large books and asked "what do you like?" "what do you want?". I didn't know! I have worked for a high end caterer and so I knew what I wanted in a lot of other areas (and what to avoid), but I have no knowledge of flowers. I had a vision of what I wanted the wedding to feel like, but needed a florist who could really listen and be creative! Marita was the only one who fit the bill!! At the first meeting we talked at length about my personal style and what I wanted my wedding to look like and she started to help me by showing me flowers, talking candidly about prices and offering solutions that would be lovely and affordable. As the wedding date got closer, we needed to finalize flower details. I had a long engagement and the "feel" and style of my wedding had evolved. I was getting tense when Marita seemed worried about the direction the wedding was heading; she felt there were a lot of changes. I was very busy at work and so my mom and wedding coordinator handled the flower details the last couple of weeks. I really needn't had worried a little bit!! My bouquet - gorgeous! MOH and BM bouquets - beautiful! We had the ceremony in a church on the historic registry, so there were only 2 arrangements in the ceremony space and they worked beautifully! The flowers worked with the clean simple lines of the church and just made the space feel romantic. However the flowers at the reception took my breath away!! Marita had captured my dream wedding/vision PERFECTLY!! When I saw the dining room before the guests were seated I was blown away!! I had no clue how she got exactly what I wanted when I had been struggling to explain what I wanted clearly, but I chalk that up to experience and professionalism. Everyone (from me and new hubby to guests and other vendors) thought the flowers were amazing! Marita is amazingly talented, I highly recommend her!! I don't remember what the final bill was, but I know it was very reasonable and a little less than all the other florists in Old Town Alexandria I met. Five stars with no doubt!!

She was frequently in contact with me every step of the way and stayed at the ceremony site until I got there to explain everything to me in person when rain impeded an outdoor ceremony. If her knowledge and skill of flowers don't convince you, then her knowledge of every aspect of weddings and vendors definitely will. She helped me find a hairdresser/make-up artist and videographer. She is just amazing.

ople have never seen such beautiful flowers. They were so fragrant and so elegant. Marita did a great job capturing exactly what we wanted for the wedding and was so flexible throughout the process with suggestions. She is very thorough and purchases some of the best long-lasting flowers. My bouquet still looks like it is in mint condition and it has been a day since the wedding. We were so happy to work with both Marita and Oliver, her husband and our photographer, and would highly recommend others use them for their weddings. They were both so relaxed and easy to talk to and made us feel so comfortable the entire time. The quality is definitely worth the cost, especially if you love flowers as much as I do!

It was so easy being able to take care of both flowers and photography together, but I felt like we got custom individual services from two outstanding professionals. I was completely clueless about flowers and Marita was my saving grace. She patiently walked me through the process of figuring out what I wanted, explaining what was available in season, and helping me find options that were both creative and cost saving. She really knows her stuff - several times she graciously guided me toward sensibility when my imagination started to go off in a direction that would be too expensive or a mismatch for the venue. But she patiently listened to all my wild ideas, and in the end, was able to incorporate many of my favorite flowers into a truly unique floral theme. The result was absolutely stunning - I wanted something creative and distinct, and never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined what Marita came up with. Her table arrangements were works of art - gorgeous and lively and the perfect balance of elegant and playful. Everyone loved them! I will never forget the flowers at my wedding. I highly, highly recommend Marita. I was the opposite with photography - I knew exactly what I wanted. Oliver was quickly able to meet my needs with a team of photographers to capture every moment of our event. He even brought on an extra photographer at the last minute to take posed shots of guests in the "photo booth" we wanted to set up. The photographers were not intrusive at all, and aside from posed photos, I hardly realized they were there. After the wedding, the photos were available to view very quickly, and it was easy to send the link of the online gallery to family and friends. We spent hours pouring over the hundreds of photos from the day--Oliver's work is just spectacular. I feel like I am reliving my wedding day each time I flip through just a few photos. And when it came time to select prints, the online system was so easy to use. To top it all off, Oliver is wonderfully charismatic, and was such a delight to have around on our wedding day. He is an outstanding wedding photographer!

She was a charm to work with - always on time, delivering what she said she could when she said she would deliver. All of the flowers were fresh, sharp in appearance and lasted for a decent amount of time after the wedding day passed (they were still pretty when I returned from honeymoon). When I needed last minute flowers for my rehearsal dinner, she jumped right in with a great concept that was perfect for the theme and, again, with an appreciation of my budgetary needs.
