About this vendor
Nestled in the valleys of Oakland, MD, Twin Tails Event Farm is a barn wedding venue. Its gorgeous lakeside ceremony space and rustic decor are perfect for couples who feel most at home surrounded by country charm. Tuck a blushing wildflower in your hair and share your first kiss as newlyweds among the glorious pine trees.
Twin Tails Event Farm is located just outside Oakland, a quaint small town in Western Maryland. The owner, Karen Hineman, applies a lifetime of experience as a business owner in the food and beverage industry to her beloved venue. After falling in love with Deep Creek Lake and the Pleasant Valley area while vacationing with her family, she decided its rural beauty needed to be shared. Driven by instinct and a feeling that it was "the place," she purchased the farm property and added venue ownership to her impressive repertoire. Her passion for design can be felt throughout the event rooms, from the clever reclaiming of barn wood to the rustic-chic decor. After a final touch-up in their get-ready suites, to-be-weds can make their way to the lake and exchange vows beneath a stunning arbor. The Veranda is the perfect place for a poignant toast at sunset before a reception in one of the venue's two indoor spaces, The Traditional Bank Barn and The Celebration Pavillion. Both accommodate celebrations of 200 or fewer, and The Veranda allows for additional seating.
Karen and her dedicated team at Twin Tails Event Farm aim to provide an inclusive wedding package that outlines every last detail. They are happy to recommend overnight accommodations for your out-of-town guests and vendors that complement your style. Couples can expect the support of on-site staff for the entire day, from setup to teardown, and all bookings include farm tables, cross-back chairs, linens, tableware, lighting, decor, and two ranch-style bars. The venue's exclusive caterer is provided at an additional rate and provides hors d'oeuvres, plated buffet service, and bartenders.

What a fantastic day this was for me and my family. Britney and staff made everything I could possibly want from my wedding come to life! They went above and beyond!
My wedding was a FAIRY TALE thanks to Twin Tails Event Farm! The staff, service, and venue were everything I could have wanted and then some. From the moment we stepped on the prop...
erty for our tour, I knew this was the place I wanted to get married. Karen and Christy continued to deliver from start to finish and never left me to feel stressed or overwhelmed even when I emailed them 5,000 times over the course of a couple of years. They are professional yet compassionate and truly want your wedding to be the best that it can be. I still can't believe how perfect our day was, and I will always recommend this venue to anyone and everyone I talk to!

The Antique Bungalow is the perfect place for the bride + bridesmaids to get ready. Twin Tails made it cozy with plenty of seating, candles lit, coffee and water provided, as well as lunch so that we wouldn't go all morning without eating.
The entire venue location is GORGEOUS! From the Woodland ceremony site, to the Milking Parlor, to the Celebration Pavillion, the Hayloft, and the pond - there is no shortage of picture perfect views.
The food is AMAZING! I have heard it from several of the guests who attended my own wedding, as well as from guests who attended other weddings at Twin Tails. You cannot go wrong with the filet!
The staff is extremely kind and helpful. Every interaction I had with them was welcoming and warm and they are LOTS of fun!
Twin Tails Event Farm has been incredible! From the beginning, Christy and the team were easily accessible and communicated consistently. Christy asked all of the right questions, ...
gave us professional perspective, and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The team genuinely cared about our big day and did all they could to accommodate us.
My husband and I absolutely LOVED the venue!!! It is so natural but gorgeous, has a rustic charm to it. We highly recommend this venue for your ceremony and reception! They know what they are doing!!
This was the best day of my life and Twin Tails made it so easy for us. Christy and Karen are absolutely amazing. The food was incredible for the rehearsal and the wedding dinner. ...
Everything was well organized and all of our guests were raving about how amazing the venue was as whole. They really know what they are doing and it is evident from start to end. Book this venue!
My best friend just got married this weekend and I had the privilege of being her maid of honor. All I can say about this location, the people who own it, and the business they hav...
e created is perfection. There is no venue I have ever seen that makes you WANT to use it exactly as it comes with no extra decoration needed. They make the bridal party feel like royalty, the cooking is to die for, and they way they present the food is so fun. Most of all the bride couldn’t have pictured her day going any better. I can’t thank them enough for everything! It’s a truly wonderful place!
Twin Tails is the perfect venue for any wedding! The venue is a picturesque farm with a renovated barn as the reception building. We had an outdoor ceremony in their woodlands cere...
mony site. We had the most beautiful pictures around the grounds and in their buildings!
Christy and Karen were extremely knowledgeable and personable. They were a dream to work with! We did most of our business through Christy, who was ready to help with anything we needed and always had an answer to our many questions. Our day was absolutely perfect and it's all thanks to this gorgeous venue and their owners!
We had the most incredible wedding at Twin Tails Event Farm. The venue is absolutely gorgeous! The woodland ceremony spot is incredible and the whole property was the perfect backd...
rop for our wedding vision. The facilities are beautiful as is but also versatile and able to transform to fit any aesthetic. The farm is expansive and our guests raved about the venue all night! The bridal suite is stunning. My bridesmaids and I loved having access to it all day. We also hosted our rehearsal dinner at the venue the night before and we were amazed at the transformation of the venue from "chill BBQ" on Friday to "glamorous gala" on Saturday. This property can house it all!
Karen and Christy were flexible and accommodating to all of our ceremony requests (ceremony mixed drink and a mid ceremony toast complete with shots for all of the bridal party) The bartenders hired by Christy and Karen were fabulous and during the week Mark and Greg were extremely helpful on the grounds as my husband and I were getting to town and unloading our GIANT U-haul of wedding stuff.
The BBQ from Magnolia Catering for our rehearsal dinner was AMAZING. We especially loved the squash casserole and the macaroni and cheese. Our spring rolls, coconut shrimp, and chicken and waffle appetizers were awesome. Our main entrees were the goat cheese and strawberry salad (fabulous), the beef tenderloin, miso salmon, mashtini bar, and crack broccoli. The beef tenderloin was incredible and the mashtini station was a huge hit!!.
Our wedding was the most perfect day and required extensive planning to the last detail. Christy was available at all times and extremely responsive to all my 43534543 text messages. We brought a huge vendor team to Oakland with us and Karen and Christy allowed us to come up multiple times during the year leading up with our whole team to tour and plan. We could not have asked for more beautiful weather or a more perfect day. Thank you Twin Tails!!
If you're looking at wedding venues in the Deep Creek area and you're not looking at Twin Tails just stop now! Twin Tails is the complete package! From the Antique Bungalow and the...
Sky Parlor where the bride and groom get ready, to the Milking Parlor for cocktail hour, to the Hayloft for dinner and the Celebration Pavilion for dancing, they have everything you need! Although we didn't get married onsite, they have not one but two ceremony sites to choose from, and they do the catering too! When we did our first walkthrough, Twin Tails had not yet done a single wedding, and most of the venue was under construction, but we believed so much in what the owner, Karen, and coordinator, Christy, had envisioned that we didn't even see it as taking a risk. These two ladies are amazing and have become like family to us. They went above and beyond to make our wedding day absolutely perfect, and unlike their competitors, they didn't charge us for all of the little extras that made it so special. I could go on and on about everything that makes this place so incredible, but honestly, words won't do it justice, so please just go check Twin Tails out for yourself. I promise you won't regret it!
For my wedding, Twin Tails did everything we needed. We forgot to pick up cupcakes for the night of our rehearsal dinner, and they sent someone( I think Christy’s husband) out to p...
ick them up for us. They think of everything and they are there to help you every step of the way! From first tour, until the day of, Christy and Karen were always checking in to make sure everything was going well. The night of the wedding, I received so many compliments about the venue. Many people said it was the prettiest wedding venue they’ve seen, the best wedding food they’ve had, and the most fun they have had. I couldn’t have asked for anything else. It was beautiful.
My husband Drew and I celebrated our Wedding at Twin Tails in July 2018. Our experience with Karen & Christy and the entire Twin Tails team was exceptional - from the initial tour ...
to the big day. We could not have found a more perfect venue for ourselves, our family, and our friends to enjoy.
When we initially toured the venue in July 2017, the Twin Tails team had not yet hosted a single wedding. Even though the venue was still "in progress, "we knew they were the right people for the job after hearing them talk so passionately about their love of service, food, decor, as well as their endless visions for the farm.
After we signed and over the next few months, Karen & Christy delivered everything that had promised, AND MORE. From the dreamy bridal suite and grooms loft fit for royalty, to the perfect, rustic cowboy cocktail lounge and patio, to the exquisite catering (which included amazing tacos that everyone drooled over), to the peaceful, woodland ceremony set-up overlooking the pond. Someone even asked us afterward the ceremony if we had "meditation music" playing through the speakers during the ceremony, or if that really was just the birds and frogs of the farm chirping! Our guests are still commenting on the details and what an amazing venue it was!
We have no doubt that Twin Tails Event Farm is just going to continue to grow and host 5-star weddings and events for any function! Invest in them for your rehearsal dinner, ceremony, bridal shower, baby shower, or ANYTHING. Between all the logistics and details, this venue and the staff are truly incredible. These people know what they're doing :)
My husband and I were married at Twin Tails in May 2018 and it was easily the best decision we made! With us being only the third wedding they hosted, we were a little nervous that...
all of the kinks were not worked out yet. But when we arrived the day before, all our hesitations went away. Everything we had discussed during our meeting was all set up and ready to go. Twin Tails has so many decorations and signs you are welcome to use included in your rental fee. The only decorations we brought were the table arrangements. On the day of, there was a chance of rain during the ceremony. While we were getting ready, they provided me with updates on if we had to move the ceremony inside or not. Christy was amazing to work with and I would highly recommend TT to anyone looking to get married in western Maryland!

Food was delicious and the spaces you all have are AMAZING!!! We were at the perfect place for Lindsey and Drew’s wedding!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
