y! Our family has never done professional photoshoots and my husband and I are quite camera shy. Nicole makes it so easy for us by giving detailed enough guidance for the photos to turn out amazing without seeming overwhelming at all. She just "gets it." Our wedding was a fusion of Indian (Bengali) culture and American/Western traditions. She captured all of the critical moments of the ceremony beautifully, which isn't always obvious. She also helped us manage our guests all taking a photo with us near the mandap before ushering them downstairs to enjoy lunch at our multi-level venue. My in-laws were astonished by how orderly she was able to keep the process while still maintaining a gentle/hostess like demeanor. She made our day seamless, special, and most of all, memorable with her beautiful photos!

She also turned our first look in to us (sneak peak of the pics) so fast that we were in our honeymoon when we got them so it was extra special. We had our engagement photos taken at a park in Palatine, one of Nicole's recommended spots, and they turned out beautiful! We had so many great shots to choose from. We even included our small dog in the photos, and Nicole took this beautiful portrait of him that is still my phone background to this day. Our wedding day went so smooth, we did a first look and got all our group pictures done before the wedding, which was nice that we could enjoy cocktail hour. Nicole is so so talented and got so many amazing shots. She directed the bridal party to be at the right locations at the right time--including a sparkler send off which the pictures turned out amazing! She provided a sneak peek within a week of the wedding, and then within the month she had edited all the rest of our pictures edited and finalized. I was shocked with how quick she was! Her photos are so vibrant in color - one of our groomsmen is a professional photographer and he actually helped us select Nicole and The Still Life out of a variety of other potential photographers and we're so happy with how our photos turned out. Sneak peek came out the week of, and full set of photos about 6 weeks later. I especially appreciate that the full set included "duplicate" photos from various orientations (horizontal, vertical, etc) so there was plenty to choose from. Highly recommend and really have no complaints at all!

We used TSL to shoot our Chicago wedding in August & also for a covert-op boudoir session ;) If I were to do it all over again, the only thing I would do differently is add an extra hour or so to the initial contract to get some shots of our friends and family dancing & letting loose at the end of the night. Nicole is such a pleasure to work with & extremely helpful. I was getting stressed and confused about day of timeline and she went out of her way to have a call with me so we could talk it through which ultimately gave me a better understanding of when I needed to tell other vendors when to be where, etc. We received multiple compliments from our rowdy bridal party of what a good job she was doing at directing us through our group shots/basically herding cats. The blog is a nice treat to get to see some of your pictures quickly & share with friends and family! I asked Nicole if she would do a boudoir shoot with me on short notice & she was very flexible & again extremely responsive. I had never done one before so was a little nervous but it seriously was so fun to feel like a model for the afternoon! Nicole did a great job of cueing & directing me on poses which also helped put me at ease. The pictures came back promptly & I couldn’t be happier with how they look.
