From the moment we toured the Sterling we knew that we wanted to have our wedding here. From the beautiful ceremony area outside on the pond to the beautiful indoor reception area it really is just an absolutely stunning place, butwhat really stood out about this venue were the people that worked there from the coordinators to the kitten staff to the bartenders everyone clearly had one goal in mind which was to make our day truly special. Which they absolutely did and more. We had the privilege of working with Marissa as our lead coordinator and it was very obvious that she was made for this job. She was quick to respond to all of our emails throughout over 16 months of planning. She made sure all our concerns went away as fast as possible, and every question that we ever could think of got answered right away. She had no problem offering suggestions, but more importantly just listening to what we want and making it happen. Marissa and her team never made us feel like we were annoying them with questions or asking anything silly, which really meant a lot for us. On the day of the wedding everyone came up to us expressing how they were having a great time. The bar staff was amazing and no one was waiting for drinks. The cocktail hour was great, and then the dinner entrees were amazing as well. If you want a venue where you feel like you are prioritized and everyone there just wants to make sure you have a special time this is the place for you. It also helps when the venue is stunning. There is an awesome groomsmen and bridesmaids suites to get ready in. Lastly, this venue offers a comfortable environment for people of all ages during the reception time. Meaning there’s an active Dancefloor area, an outdoor area, and indoor area to lounge inside for some of the older folks. I cannot recommend this venue, and the people who work here enough. An absolute dream day!

The Sterling is a wedding venue located in the grounds of Arrowhead Golf Club in beautiful Akron, New York. The Sterling offers seven unique areas to accommodate every aspect of your memorable celebration and sets the standard for top-notch events in Western New York. It features indoor and outdoor spaces with scenic views and is available for ceremonies, receptions, bridal showers, engagement parties, elopements and rehearsal dinners.
Facilities and Capacity
With over 10,000 square feet of event space, The Sterling can comfortably accommodate 250-500 seated guests. They offer seven event areas including:
Main dining area - A 90-feet by 36-feet space with glamorous warehouse chic design, featuring a tall glass wall, cathedral ceilings, modern crystal chandeliers, and state of the art kitchen.
Interior mezzanine area for surplus seating - Area features a catwalk across the glass wall and leading to the outside balcony.
Side covered patio - 5 French doors provide seamless overflow space for the reception and dance floor which is heated for 3 season use.
Back and side uncovered balcony - The balconies feature stunning views of the golf course and island. The side balcony is the ideal setting for a rehearsal dinner with an intimate setting and sunset views.
Bridal Suite - A getting ready room with glamorous makeup stations for the bridal party.
Island ceremony and photography area - The area includes a steel arch, wood bridge, walkway, and aisle and provides an intimate and unique place to tie the knot.

The Sterling and their executive chef provide a large wedding menu from which to choose your meal options. Options include hand-passed appetizers from their hors d’oeuvres menu, crudités for cocktail hour, and a choice of either a relaxed buffet or a sit down plated option for dinner. There is a choice of entrees available for the sit down dinner which is served with salad, steamed vegetables, freshly baked bread, your choice of sides, and tea and coffee. The Sterling offers various beverage packages including beer, wine, champagne, liquors, and soft drinks. There is also an evening snack menu available.

to the wedding of our dreams - probably better than we ourselves had imagined. The team, rounded out by Alexis and Netasha, were responsive, professional, and honest about what is feasible and what is far-fetched. Their kindness and dedication to our needs and wants was somsething extra special.
Eric reverse reciped a few cultural dishes from our parents so that we did not have to cater them. At the tasting, my parents were boasting about how, with even a few twists, the dishes tasted authentic. The chef’s experience traveling the world and willingness to work with us is something we cannot ignore or stop revelling about.
On the day of our wedding, surprise rain derailed our plans to get married outside and we had to move our ceremony indoors. Tanya Sue was kind and patient with us as we changed our original plan. It stung a bit to make a last minute change, but the Sterling team created an atmosphere where our attention was in t he moment and not thinking about what could have been. The ceremony was perfect. The day was perfect. Everything was perfect.
Highly recommend trusting this team with your dream wedding. Guarantee it will turn out beyond your imagination.

he white glove package, and felt like every detailed was attended to. She was very prompt at responding my questions, and I never felt like I was left in the dark. The rest of the staff was great during the actual wedding and did a wonderful job setting up the venue just as I had envisioned.
Food: You know the food hit the spot when you take a bite of everything, look at each other, and give each other a thumbs up! During the tasting, we asked for some substitutions/alterations to the buffet, and they were executed perfectly on the day of the wedding. I think the only criticism I received was that the food was very dry for the last table that got served--we were trying to avoid this via the buffet, but otherwise everyone else raved about the food being one of the best wedding foods they've had. I think it's just an unfortunate consequence of food being under the warmer for too long. Oh, and everyone loved the late night snacks--I would comment on the taste, but by the time we noticed they had been served everyone had eaten them already. They were definitely a hit!
Venue: What you see in the pictures looks just as good in real life! My guests had a lot of fun with the outdoor games and roaming through the venue. I saw quite a lot of people take pictures on the island during golden hour, and heard someone say, "Guys, let's go outside, it's actually so nice out there." There were plenty of beautiful spots for photos--I didn't even know there was a tree swing, but that's one of my favorite pictures of the wedding!
Fire: Honestly, a lot of my guests didn't even know there had been a fire. We were a bit trepidatious when we walked in that morning because there was still soot and ash EVERYWHERE, but by 3PM everything had been cleared up and the second floor (which received the most fire damage) was skillfully draped over. I think I also just lucked out when I decided last minute I wanted a signature scent, so the candles successfully masked most of the smoky smell. To make up for the lack of a bridal suite at the venue, we went and used the suite at the Timberlodge and also received complimentary snacks (more than we could eat!) throughout the day.
Cost: This was the pricier out of the two venues we narrowed down to, but I think it's totally worth it (the husband was stressing over the price, but even he admitted it was worth it after the wedding). The food, ambience, space, service, and swift accommodations in the setting of an unexpected disaster more than made up for the cost.
Summary: the wedding played out just as I had envisioned it. I would recommend the Sterling to any couple who is looking for a venue in the area, they'll make your special day a dream come true!

From the very beginning, Tanya Sue was absolutely amazing! She was so fun, kind, organized, and incredibly easy to work with. She made the entire planning process feel stress-free and truly cared about making sure our wedding day was perfect.
On our wedding day, she went above and beyond in every way. She made sure everything ran so smoothly, stayed for most of the night to make sure everything was going perfectly, and was always checking in to see if we needed anything. She even brought drinks to the bridal suite right when we needed them! She also worked with our photographer to help us get some amazing photos that we’ll treasure forever.

He immediately gave me his cell phone number and told me to contact him anytime I had a question or concern. From that moment on, he became my lifeline throughout the entire process. Whenever I felt overwhelmed or started to doubt whether everything would come together, Jason was there to reassure me, answer my questions, and help me stay calm. His communication, compassion, and commitment were truly exceptional. On the wedding day, Shannon, my white-glove coordinator, was absolutely incredible. She made sure every single detail was handled flawlessly so that I could simply enjoy the day. Everything ran seamlessly, and I never once had to worry about a thing. Jason was also there throughout the day, personally ensuring that everything was perfect. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care did not go unnoticed. My mom and I are not easy customers—we have high expectations and pay attention to every detail. The Sterling team didn’t just meet those expectations; they exceeded them in every possible way. Their service was first-class, their hospitality was unmatched, and they handled an incredibly difficult situation with grace and professionalism. Despite everything that happened leading up to our wedding, if I could do it all over again, I would still choose The Sterling without hesitation. She toured us through both properties being sure to answer any and all questions and we were blown away by how both venues were absolutely stunning! We were on a tight budget, and being 2 engaged people in our early thirties feeling very overwhelmed! Krystle made sure we were taking it all in and that not all dreams are off the table! We told her exactly what we wanted and we feel in love with the sterling venue. She sat down with us after a wonderful tour and did all the numbers. During this time we shared some family stories, hard times, smiles , and of course talked about our vision for the wedding! This is when the second women came to join (Maggie) she greeted us with a smile, handed Krystle the papers and it was time to talk numbers. When these ladies spun around the spread sheets, I literally burst into tears!! They had made sure we stayed within our budget and we were over turned with joy! We booked right on the spot! We all cried together as it hit that I was finally going to have a wedding date!! I could go on forever. The love and care I felt in that moment will forever be my most cherished memory!! The day of was stress free as Shannon and my vendors took care of everything behind the scenes. Shannon Mowry is the most amazing human I have ever met. She was so attentive the day of the wedding - to not just us, but to our whole wedding party. She went above and beyond and even drove a golf cart to help my mom get to the locations for pictures. Following the ceremony, she was there with a celebratory drink in hand for us. I cannot say enough amazing things about Shannon - she alone was worth every penny we spent.

We held our ceremony out on the island, the reception indoors, with the dance floor outside in the covered portion. We worked with the lead coordinator, Tanya Sue, who was so helpful in making sure we had everything together for our special day! She met with us in person and we went over a detailed outline of everything you would need the day of. This was a huge help and took a lot of the stress off. She was great with communication- she encouraged us to reach out with any questions or concerns and replies were fairly quick! We did the food tasting and it was just incredible- guests mentioned how much they enjoyed dinner afterwards. The day of, Tanya was there with us running around making sure everything was taken care of. She coordinated with all the other vendors and queued the wedding party when it was time to walk down the aisle. She communicated with us throughout the night and stayed until the end. If it wasn’t for her, the day would have been a mess! The most unique part of our day was the first dance on the catwalk above all of our guests. It was so cool- really made the pictures look incredible. I would really recommend to have your special day here, you won’t have any regrets!!!

y July 17. For peak season, the price was fair, especially what we were getting out of it. Our ceremony was on the island which was stunning and really adds to the overall experience. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. Our wedding coordinator Tanya crushed it in every way. She was on top of things and was never afraid to step in and take control to keep things flowing and keep our special day stress-free. We can tell how much Tanya loves what she does and how happy she was to celebrate with us. We would highly recommend The Sterling and Tanya for your big day.

toured, and from the moment we stepped foot on the property, we knew it was the one... (literally.. we had other venue tours booked that day that we cancelled). The venue is breathtaking and truly one of a kind. We knew we wanted an indoor/outdoor area so our guests didn't feel crammed all in one place, and the sterling gave us just that. From the island, to the multiple patios, the balcony and options for both indoor and outdoor seating, there was plenty of space for our guests to spread out and move around.
The team at the Sterling made the planning process as simple as possible. We had our planning meeting with Paige who was beyond phenomenal to work with and truly put my mind at ease, answering every question we had and reassuring us that the day would go smoothly. I am a very type A bride and had a very specific vision that the team brought to life exactly as I'd have hoped. We paid for the white glove package, which I highly recommend. This gave us a coordinator and we also didn't have to worry about decor breakdown. Our original coordinator left the company and we very last minute were placed with Kayla. I cannot say enough great things about her. For being added to our wedding on such short notice she caught up to speed and made sure the day went exactly as I had wanted it to (even stepped into the role of makeup artist when my makeup got ruined during my first look.)
Our guests could not stop raving about the atmosphere of this venue, as well as the delicious food. Out of every wedding I have ever been to- the sterling's food was by FAR the best. They have an amazing drink selection, and we added the high noon bar to our drink package, which was a huge hit with all of our guests.
Our whole day was planned out perfectly and exactly as I envisioned it. This venue is absolutely worth every penny, and I cannot recommend it enough.

The night of my wedding a few guests came up to me to tell me how great the food was and that I had “the wedding of the year!” I had no anxiety over anything potentially going wrong because I was confident with how my coordinator and other employees there would handle everything. My biggest worry was just walking down the aisle and having people look at me! My coordinator was Stephanie and she was amazing too. She responded to all my emails very thoroughly and quickly which is something super important to me, as well as many other brides. As someone who is a perfectionist and pays a lot of attention to detail, I felt 110% comfortable handing things off to Stephanie if need be. I know she would do it right. She was very attentive to me and my husband the whole night of our wedding checking in on us, making sure everything was going as we had hoped, and made sure my glass of diet coke was never empty lol. I would also fully recommend the white glove package that they have, as it takes a lot of work and stress off of the brides shoulders. The other employees at The Sterling fully set up the reception area with my decor, as well as packed everything up for me at the end of the night. Everyone was super kind and attentive. It is very very expensive to have your wedding here, but I would say the price matches the services you receive. I hope to be able to come back to The Sterling one day to experience a wedding there as guest!

Right from the start, we could feel her excitement for us and she was beyond amazing at answering any questions that we had. We knew this was the place where our dream wedding could become reality. Tanya was our coordinator and she was honestly beyond amazing. Words truly don't describe how detail oriented and hard working she is. She communicated with us regularly and was so beyond sweet and thoughtful at all times. Leading up to the wedding day, Tanya was always willing to answer any questions we had, big or small. She did an amazing job hosting our Rehearsal and made sure we were all set to go for the wedding day. What really impressed me most about Tanya was her ability to ensure we had a proper timeline for our day and keep the day running smoothly. We had a lot of moving parts to our day, including sharing a first look, island ceremony, a cigar bar, an ice cream truck, fireworks, and sparklers. Tanya made a timeline to ensure we had time to do everything we wanted to do. At our planning meeting, we could feel Tanya's excitement for us and could tell how important it was to her that our wedding day ran smoothly. So many of our guests complimented how great the food was and how hard the staff was working.
Many things stood out to us about the place in general as well as our coordinator but our favorite detail was as soon as we got married and exited the island from our ceremony, Tanya was standing right there waiting with our signature cocktails for us, it was such a nice surprise. She made sure every last detail was perfect for us. The venue is truly so beautiful from the bridal suite/groomsmen suite, to the island ceremony, and the outside dance floor. From the food, to the staff, to the grounds, this place is an absolute dream. I would 100% wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone! Our day ran so smoothly and was everything I imagined and more.

Our wedding at The Sterling was beautiful and we were so happy with it. Hannah was an amazing coordinator and did a great job of making the day flow nicely and helping to calm down...

I did take off a star because we told them that, even if it snowed, we wanted to take pictures outside. Nothing was shoveled or salted and our photographers had to create a trail for us to walk down and kicked away ice that was on the stairs.
Also, look over your invoices with a fine toothed comb! While Hannah was out on vacation, someone else was helping us with our final payment. We told them we wanted the less expensive bar option, and they tried charging us for the more expensive option instead. Also, we originally planned to get married outside, but had to move the ceremony inside on the day of. Thankfully I remembered that the pricing is less expensive to have it inside, because we were never refunded the difference until I reached out and asked them about it.
Aside from that, we had a wonderful time at The Sterling. The food and drinks were excellent and the venue itself was stunning!

team were such a joy to work with. Our main coordinator was Paige and she did such an amazing job helping us plan every detail. The Sterling also has beautiful getting-ready rooms onsite that made the entire day so easy and stress-free! I would highly recommend!

process, extremely responsive, and very thorough during our planning meeting. The way he floats around the wedding venue day of is amazing - he is so efficient and it is clear that he thrives during the actual event and loves what he does. The bridal suite is perfect for getting ready, and food was absolutely amazing, and the bar and wait staff was phenomenal. If I had to do it all over again I would still choose The Sterling and definitely recommend Michael and his team.

nish the process was made so easy. I’ve dreamed of my wedding day since I was a little girl and they delivered on every aspect and exceeded all our expectations. We are still getting compliments on the food, service and how beautiful the venue was. They were worth every penny that we spent. If you are debating between them and another venue choose The Sterling, you won’t regret it. Michael was super attentive throughout the whole night. He was always checking in on us and making sure we were having the time of our lives. We had so many people come up to us and say “we love Michael! He’s great!”. For so many of our guest to know our coordinators first name shows how much he paid attention to our guest.

Michael, our wedding planner was an absolute pleasure to plan with and no doubt, well deserving of his most recent accomplishment of winning the Best of 716 for Event Planner award. He truly went above and beyond and made the planning process, to the day of, so very simple and stress free. Our guests were blown away and very impressed on how talented and wonderful Michael and his team were the day of our wedding. Everything was so efficient and smoothly done, that we were were able to enjoy the day and night with family and friends without any worries at all. The suites were clean to get ready in and hang out prior to the ceremony, the food and drinks were delicious and the outdoor grounds made the most perfect scenery to capture all the moments on our special day. I can not speak more highly of a venue and their team! We will cherish always, the beautiful experience that the Sterling gave us on our Wedding Day.

the planning process and was always available for the million questions I had. By the end she was more of friend than a coordinator and I wish I could plan a wedding with her every year! Another highlight is that they’re familiar with a lot of vendors and can communicate with them on your behalf. The venue is beautiful, the service was great, the food was delicious. I don’t know of a single guest of mine that didn’t have a great time!
