The Santa Fe Grass brings real, high-energy bluegrass to weddings in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and across northern New Mexico.
We're a four-piece band — guitar, mandolin, five-string banjo, and upright bass, with tight three-part harmonies — David Thom (guitar & lead vocals), Bob Bruen (mandolin & vocals), Marc Bolen (banjo), and Ken Williams (upright bass & vocals). It's joyful, danceable music that feels right at home in New Mexico, from a mountain ceremony to a barn reception to an elegant Santa Fe courtyard.
We can cover your whole day: ceremony music as your guests arrive and you walk down the aisle, an upbeat set for cocktail hour and dinner, and a full reception set that gets people on their feet. Want a special first dance or a song that means something to you two? We'll learn it.
We also provide MC services to keep your day flowing, and we bring and run our own professional PA — for both the ceremony and reception, indoors or out — so you don't have to arrange separate sound.
You'll find us playing regularly around Santa Fe, but most of our wedding and private-event work is in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. If you want music that's warm, authentic, and unforgettable — not a generic cover band — we'd love to play your wedding.
