DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE I purchased a wedding dress from the Sample Room and the store manager, Ivan, highly recommended their seamstress, Martha, to do the alteration...
s. Martha destroyed the dress to the point multiple other seamstresses said it was beyond repair. I was left without a dress less than 2 months before my wedding. Ivan refused to take any responsibility for this and both he and Martha have not returned my calls and emails. It was a horrendous experience that I would not wish upon any bride.
Save your time and shop elsewhere. The store manager is very rude.
While I ultimately did not end up buying my dress from The Sample Room, I did appreciate how helpful and knowledgeable the manager (owner?) and her assistant are. The showroom is c...
ozy and intimate, and they had some fantastic jazz music playing in the background!
I bought my gown from The Sample Room for my wedding in July and it was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. I had made an appointment in advance and went by myself after ...
work, not expecting to find a dress, and I ended up buying the first one I tried on! The Sample Room has some of the most beautiful dresses that are super unique and one of a kind, and not to mention their staff is amazing and was so helpful throughout the process. They do not offer alterations in house, but they do recommend a seamstress who allows for alteration appointments at the shop, making it super convenient. Everything about my dress experience at The Sample Room was perfect and I would highly recommend to any NYC bride!!
If I could give the Sample Room 10 stars I would! I did not have a lot of time before my wedding so I expected to just find a pretty dress. Instead, I found the most beautiful dre...
ss imaginable and Ivan was absolutely amazing through the whole process. The Sample Room supplies designer dresses to high end stores, think Bergdorf, Saks etc and they have samples of runway dresses for a fraction of the price. I ended up trying on a dress that I loved but wanted a couple of changes, Ivan said he would reach out to the designer, which we did via facetime, and he said he would make me a brand new dress! The talented designer is Julio Gonzalez and he is based out of Columbia. He kept me in the loop for the entire process and I had a custom made dress that fit me like a dream. Ivan worked with him and flew back with the dress!! I never felt so beautiful in this dress and I had so many compliments. Everyone at the Sample Room was amazing and talented. And they are not the least bit pushy. They have an excellent aesthetic for all of the accessories as well. I would not miss a stop here for your wedding dream dress!
I booked an appointment at The Sample Room NY for my bff. She wanted a unique gown for her big day but she couldn't find anything to her liking at the other stores around town.

make a long story short she ended up finding a one of a kind runway sample for an amazing price. I can say enough about the no pressure store and the employees that work there. If you are a bride looking for something different, I would recommend booking an appointment.
I had a lovely experience with The Sample Room NY. First, I feel like there was great selection in my taste and price range. I wanted something special that did not have all of th...
e lace and beading that I was seeing everywhere else. (They did have that stuff too, but there was more variety in their inventory.) The friendly and professional team (Yolanda, Ivan, and Mindy) made me feel at home with my small group...And then I went back last minute with a huge group and they accommodated us. AND brought out the champagne to toast me when I made my decision. AND connected me with my alternations specialist. I would highly recommend this shop!
