The venue changed ownership after I booked and I had a terrible experience with the new ownership. My wedding was on 2/28/26. The person I was in contact with was always out of the...
country and missed our first scheduled meeting because I did not text to make sure she would be there. Any time we had a meetingi had to make dot she would be there. I don’t think me managing her schedule should be part of the process. She was difficult to work with and get straight answers from. She contradicted her self all the time and was combative. I would inform her of my plans and she seemed fine but then she would tell me we could not do something that was previously discussed. I had to change my plans last minute several times. She kept trying to add extra fees every time I turned around. The new ownership didn’t seem to be aware of what my previous contract said either. On the day of my wedding she told us we could not serve liquor after we had discussed a cocktail hour multiple times, but thankfully we were able to get around that. All in all dealing with this venue made wedding planning not enjoyable. I wish I would’ve left after the ownership change.

Was highly considering until I found the VRBO... What even.... Blacks have extra fees and Muslims not welcome. That is astonishing.
Beautiful place, but if you’re black or Muslim don’t bother. It seems the owners have a white supremacist streak. I’m not sure if they allow Hispanics, I wouldn’t count on it. Appa...
rently, they are hoping to go to back to the time of plantations where POC know their place and wouldn’t think of being able to stay there. I can’t believe the Knot is okay with this.
I was considering using this venue that I found via The Knot. But after doing additional research I am baffled at the racism and ignorance of the owners/staff. On their VRBO listin...
g it says, and I quote "Black guests are to pay additional $500 security deposit and we don't welcome Muslims." absolutely despicable to discriminate against HUMAN beings. I hope this venue is shut down! I will be sharing this on social media and I hope that YOU THE KNOT remove this listing from your platform or else you'll be supporting racist antics, unless you too are RACIST.
The site was exceptionally beautiful and very well maintained. The staff provided to us were extremely professional and accommodating.
We had our wedding reception at the “Wedding in the Woods”/outdoor venue on the Red Barn property on 11/6/2022. My review is a bit late!
The barn itself is adorable and really wel...
l-thought-out. If our outdoor event had been rained out and we’d had to move it inside, I still would have loved our wedding reception. But our evening reception in the outdoor venue was genuinely like something out of a fairytale. I think a lot of people would hesitate about an outdoor, nighttime reception, and I did too, but seriously just go for it; it was so worth it. Ours was the first of its kind at this venue, and I physically cannot recommend it highly enough. See photos! The price was very reasonable, and included rental of a bathroom trailer from 5 Star Rental (same owners).
Way beyond just the space, words just fail to capture how grateful I am that we chose to work with this company. I think it would’ve been really easy for them to have said that using the outdoor space at night wasn’t going to work and move on - in 2022, it’s not like they were hurting for bookings. The manager, Cecelia, was just an absolute angel. She went so far above and beyond to make sure that everything worked out for us, and the owners did too. One example - every wedding has to have at least one disaster, and without giving too much detail, ours would have been 99.9% my fault for failing to follow up with our event security. When I called Cecelia about it two days before the wedding, she just told me not to worry about it and had everything sorted out by the wedding day. It rained the whole week before our wedding, and she and I were emailing up to the morning-of about the conditions of the outdoor space (almost perfectly dried out and entirely usable, for the record).
It’s easy to think that visuals, amenities, and cost are the things that matter most when picking a wedding venue, and this place exceeded our expectations in all three areas! But you also realize that your vendors being great people who are going to do right by you and make things happen for you is a HUGE plus, that’s impossible to put a price tag on. Can’t recommend this place highly enough!
