The Perfect Knot

mail or phone call away, making sure every detail was handled perfectly. She made the entire planning process feel seamless, stress-free, and actually enjoyable. Her organization, professionalism, and calm presence gave us complete confidence throughout the whole experience. On the wedding day itself, everything flowed flawlessly because of her hard work and dedication behind the scenes. She genuinely cares about her couples and goes above and beyond to make your vision come to life. We could not have imagined our wedding without Lucy, and we are beyond grateful for everything she did for us. If you are looking for someone who will treat your wedding like it’s the most important day in the world, Lucy is the one.

uld recommend her to anyone I know!

o choose from. After speaking to each vendor, we were sort of at a loss as to which one to select, and so we went back to the venue and pressed them as to who they would MOST recommend. They said we should go with Lucy, and with our wedding now complete, it is not hard to see why.  From beginning to end, Lucy was a complete pro: methodical, organized, and detailed. She negotiated quotes and handled contracts from vendors across each area of the wedding: DJ, ceremony strings, photography and video, floral/décor, furniture, hair/makeup, and more. She even helped us plan our Friday night (night before) event. Throughout each step of the way, she was communicative and accommodative to our needs.  One highlight from our time working with Lucy was how responsive and adaptable she was to changes. We changed the design scheme/concept shortly before the event, and she was able to work with the vendors to help modify everything to fit the new vision. At the same time, she was also able to work with our ceremony strings vendor to upgrade from a duo to a quartet on short notice, and accommodate a host of other last-minute changes: last minute wedding party swap outs, music changes, and seating arrangement modifications.  When I wasn’t sure how to draft a wedding party photo list that could fit within the designated time window, Lucy was able to take the initiative to draft it herself.  As people who are not exactly experts in things like florals, design, or décor, Lucy’s practical suggestions to help bring our broader conceptual vision to a practical reality were also very much appreciated, whether it was stationary items like invitations, save the dates, or signage, or other elements like furniture, florals, and silverware. Organizing a wedding can be completely overwhelming due simply to the volume of decisions required, and when the wedding venue emails you two weeks in advance asking you about your preferred napkin fold, Lucy is there to step in, offer her expertise, and save you your valuable time.  During wedding weekend, Lucy is professional, detailed, and organized, even when chaos reigns and there are a million things going on. During our ceremony rehearsal the day before the wedding, she had printed timelines ready to go for all family and wedding party members, and presented a detailed overview of wedding day events and each person’s responsibility. She specifically made sure that everyone involved in the wedding had her contact details and information, so that they could reach out directly to her with any logistical questions and leave the couple (us) to focus on enjoying our wedding.  But perhaps most importantly, Lucy makes sure to give you a VIP focus during your wedding. Small little details, like her coming over to the head table during the reception and asking us if she could get either of us anything, such as a drink, really meant a lot and were just an indicator of how she goes above and beyond what her contracted role was to elevate the event into a truly extraordinary experience.  Ultimately, the wedding planner is the fundamental building block for the entire rest of your wedding. If you want that event to be everything you have hoped and dreamed for, there is simply no better place to start than with Lucy.

sted vendors, answered every late night email, and provided support far beyond what I could have ever expected. In what can be a chaotic time for every bride, Lucy was a shining beacon, guiding me every step of the way, from detailed timelines, to vendor choices, and in times where I hit decision fatigue and needed her to step in, to helping navigate complicated family dynamics. I cannot sing her praises enough. The smartest investment I made for my wedding was having Lucy guide me, and I could not have done it without her.

ient, kind, and overall pleasure to work with. I to this day, think she was the best investment during this entire wedding process. I booked her partial package, and I honestly feel like she was a full time planner. She took care of so many things, was so attentive and aware of every detail. She was so easy to communicate with and even went above and beyond to accommodate! Lucy is the best! We felt so secure and happy with having her coordinate our wedding! Thank you again, Lucy!

nsider partial! Lucy really goes above and beyond. We were thrilled with all aspects of her services - professionalism, organization, communication, attention to detail, and passion for her craft. You can tell how much she cares about bringing your dream wedding vision to life. We got married at a resort, but had so many outside vendors, a huge wedding party and guest list, and Lucy managed it perfectly. She kept everything organized, on time, and always came prepared to all meetings. We are so grateful. There were no problems and everything went so smoothly because of her. I would 100% recommend her to all brides and am hoping that all of my engaged friends will use Lucy for their weddings as well!

t about her: 1. Organization and 2. Empathy. In terms of organization, Lucy is proactive in emailing/texting to set up calls and meetings. She always calls on time and will show up early to in-person meetings. These may seem like little things, but it makes a big difference when you work together over the course of several months. During our meetings, she always took detailed notes and would send a nice summary afterwards for us to keep track of everything. She knows how to balance following up on things that need our input while also making sure not to spam/overwhelm our inboxes. Another thing that we liked about Lucy was that she did a great job of trying to understand what we wanted our wedding to look/feel like, and she connected us with the right vendors to be able to make it a reality. There are a million different decisions you need to make while planning a wedding, and Lucy was great at breaking down each component in ways that were easy for us to make progress on. It really felt like she understood what we wanted, and everything turned out just as we imagined on our wedding day. One last thing I wanted to mention was just how nice it was to work with Lucy. She never made us feel like any question or idea was too silly, and she often went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day turned out just the way we wanted it to. We couldn’t have asked for a better planner!

er enough!! She helped to make it our perfect dream wedding!!

was the reason our day went so smooth. It couldn’t have gone better!! Do yourself a favor and hire her if you want a picture perfect day!!

er than an entire year in advance, and yet she was confident that she’d be able to get everything together in such a short amount of time. She gave us great recommendations for vendors that she’s worked with in the past, and they were all fantastic as well. One of the best things about working with Lucy as well is that she is fantastic at communication; from being proactive in terms of giving us timelines throughout the process and deadlines, to quickly responding to any minute details we had questions about, we never felt unsure that Lucy would be there to help us. Besides all of her exceptional professional qualities, she really cares about the people she works with. It never felt like we were just clients she was working with on an event—she genuinely got to know us and made us feel so comfortable that our wedding day would be perfect. For anyone looking for a wedding planner in the San Diego area, working with Lucy is one of the best decisions you can make.

e the entire planning process so easy. I was honestly dreading the whole experience of planning my wedding but Lucy actually helped me to enjoy It. She has amazing relationships with all of the vendors she recommended and each one we worked with couldn’t say enough kind words about her. I truly had no worries leading up to my wedding because I knew Lucy had everything handled. The day of my wedding I couldn’t have been more calm knowing that everything would go smoothly with Lucy there. She handled everything and just told us where we needed to be. My family and friends were in awe of Lucy the entire wedding day! Not only is she amazing at what she does, she is so kind and sweet. Hiring Lucy was the best decision we made for our wedding!! If you’re considering hiring her for your wedding, DO It!! You will not regret It!!

n Beach and not San Diego, but I am so happy she agreed! I was MOH for a different wedding planned and coordinated by Lucy and knew I had to have her for my own. Lucy will go above and beyond for you in ways you didn't even know you needed. I had "all the bigs things" taken care of, so I thought I had plenty of time and there wasn't much left that I needed to do. Man, was I wrong. My wedding date was quickly approaching and right when I was feeling the pressure, Lucy took over and saved me. After our consultation she understood our (my husband and my) wedding vision and what was important to us. She coordinated all of the vendors and communicated with the venue to ensure we were all on the same page. She created a wedding timeline with a breakdown of each event. She even developed a "to do" checklist for me with (soft) deadlines to keep me on track (I am a horrible procrastinator). These are only the things that were pertinent to my participation. There were things behind the scenes that she took care of too. Things such as proper paperwork, vendor proof of insurance, and answering vendor/venue questions. I'm sure there were more, but this is the extent of my knowledge. Lucy really wants to make sure that you have nothing to worry about once she takes over for you. You can be rest assured that she understands your vision and you can trust her completely to make it come true. My (now) husband is the planner of our relationship and I am very Type B. I am also a nurse so I experience decision fatigue rather quickly. The day of my wedding, I didn't want to think anymore. The questions and decisions became overwhelming, I could no longer do it. At one point I turned to Lucy and asked her to "just tell me what to do", and she did just that. With grace and gentle guidance I might add. She kept us on track throughout the entire wedding and I LOVED that she was with me the entire time. I received so many compliments from my bridesmaids and groomsmen about Lucy being extremely organized and amazing at her job (We're older so we've been in and attended many weddings at this point). My matron of honor got married in San Diego and used the venue's provided day of coordinator. She told me she wished she knew about Lucy sooner and would have GLADLY paid for her services because it would have been money well spent. Don't make the same mistake and hire Lucy for your wedding! I promise you won't regret it. I can't thank you enough Lucy and your team for everything!

ng—every little detail we never would have imagined—and brought our ideas to life in the most beautiful way. Her creativity, expertise, and dedication turned our wedding into an absolute masterpiece. It was perfection in every sense of the word. Beyond her incredible planning skills, Lucy was such a warm and kind presence. She was patient, relatable, and always knew how to calm any stress or nerves. Her vendor recommendations were spot on—every single one of them reflected Lucy’s own wonderful disposition and commitment to excellence. Lucy went above and beyond in every way imaginable. She wasn’t just our planner; she became a part of our story, and we couldn’t imagine our wedding without her. If you’re searching for someone to make your wedding everything you’ve ever dreamed of, stop looking—Lucy is the one. She will make magic happen!

we were quite incorrect and I could not imagine our day without Lucy. We started our planning with her 3 months before our wedding and she made everything so seamless for us. Between making our complete schedule, contacting the vendors, and being our "fairy godmother" the entire duration of our wedding day, Lucy made sure everything moved on time, we had everything we needed, and everything was in its place. Even down to small details like having fashion tape, bobby pins in her purse, Lucy thought of everything. Every time I would feel stressed that we were behind on timing, Lucy was always there to reassure us that everything was moving exactly as it should. She also took the time to bring our things up from the reception room, to our hotel room so we did not have to collect these items ourselves. She thought of all the small things, which turned into big things that made our day unreal Our guests loved her, our wedding party adored her, and we had the most amazing day because of her. We love Lucy so so much!

tress of the process from us and our family, letting us relax and enjoy the season. She told us time and time again she was there for us and asked us time and time again if we needed anything. And she was truly there for us. It got to the point we didn’t need anything else because she had taken care of everything, usually long before we even realized a need. We came to feel like she is an old friend, supportive of us and our big day, and genuinely excited to share in it with us. All our vendors were her recommendations, that ended up so wonderfully capturing our uniqueness, especially the ones she chose for us when we didn’t know what we wanted. Our wedding day was honestly perfect, so peaceful and easy. We all truly got to experience the day, taking it all in. We will be talking about that day, and the whole process leading up to it, for a very long time, all because of Lucy’s creativity, care, and excellence. Thank you is not enough to tell you how grateful we are, Lucy!

weight lifted off my shoulders. Even before then, she was gracious in answering questions when I needed an expert opinion. In the days leading up to my wedding and on wedding day specifically I didn't have to think about timelines, set up, vendor communications, or any other details - we could just enjoy ourselves. I typically have issues delegating or relinquishing control in other areas of life but I knew that I could trust Lucy to handle everything and she did not let me down! My favorite thing about her is that besides being an expert wedding coordinator with wonderful attention to detail, she has such a pleasant and warm persona that absolutely put me at ease during a very emotionally intense few days. I could not recommend her more and you should absolutely work with her - you won't regret it.

he's kind, understanding, supportive, and extremely organized and detail oriented. She guided us for over a year as we planned our big weekend. She kept us on track with vendors, helped us plan little details, and went above and beyond to make sure things went smoothly. When things would pile up she was always there as a supportive friend to coach us through and calm us down. Without Lucy I really don't think I would have survived the planning process - she made everything SOOOO much better and easier for us. Words can't express enough gratitude towards Lucy the past year+ working with us - we have enjoyed every interaction and moment and are sad that our wedding planning together has come to an end. Anyone in the world would be lucky enough to work with Lucy - you won't regret it. She is truly the best in the business and cares so much about her couples.

ontrol. Lucy is the wedding coordinator we didn't know we needed. We started working with Lucy shortly after we booked our venue a few months before our wedding day. Lucy gently guided us through the planning process and kept us on track while we planned our wedding in about five months with busy work schedules. She recommended and provided introductions to our photographer, officiant, baker, hair and makeup artists and more, handled communication and coordination of all the logistics, created a timeline and made sure everything went smoothly on our wedding day. We worked with a great group of vendors and Lucy made sure all the details came together for our guests to enjoy and for us to have a day we will always cherish. And she was lovely to work with too. I would highly recommend working with Lucy for an enjoyable planning experience and stress free wedding day!

uest necessary to make our day as perfect as we dreamed it would be. We adore her and will be staying in touch. 1000/10 I promise!

sure our wedding went off without a hitch. From recommending vendors, to making sure everything was paid on time, to coordinating everything the day of the wedding it was absolute perfection. Every wedding we have been to we have been told to “expect something to go wrong the day of your wedding and don’t get stressed out about it because there is nothing you can do”, Lucy took that as a personal challenge and made sure there was not one hiccup or problem on our wedding day. We were able to relax and get ready without a care in the world because Lucy was there to make sure our day was perfect. If you have the opportunity to hire Lucy as your wedding planner, jump at the opportunity because genuinely it would be impossible to find anyone even close to matching how amazing she is.

our wedding day perfect, and Lucy did just that. She was always so responsive and had answers to all my questions, and she didn't miss a single detail! Lucy is kind, organized, thorough, and thoughtful. Even though I had a timeline in my head for the day, I never had to get to the point of writing it out because she was a step ahead and put together a perfect timeline that put into consideration not only the things that were important to me, but also things I hadn't thought of like what time we should go down by the beach for sunset photos. While our wedding venue did have preferred vendors, I asked Lucy for recommendations for hair and makeup and I ended up loving the woman I hired for that as well! Lucy reached out to all my vendors ahead of the wedding and made sure they had the timeline, knew when and where to arrive, and coordinated any insurance paperwork that was needed from them. On the day of our wedding, I never had to worry about whether things were being set up correctly, whether vendors had arrived on time, whether the guests knew where to go, whether we would get back our items, or anything else, because I knew she was on top of it. Of all the vendors I hired, Lucy was absolutely the one I was the happiest with and I am so thankful for her!

your wedding day. I had a very specific vision to my wedding day style and decor and on the day of the wedding Lucy executed it perfectly. Her communication with vendors is incredible and provides you with such comfort knowing she is taking care of everything and asking all the right questions. Christopher and I are forever grateful to have had Lucy as our wedding planner and if you are looking for a planner, look no further, Lucy is your girl!

we embarked on this journey. She read our minds and was always one step ahead with solutions for every scenario. Every time we went to her with a question, we came away with peace and reassurance, knowing that every detail was meticulously taken care of. On the big day, her calm presence and proactive approach allowed us to fully embrace the joy of our wedding without worrying about a thing. Thanks to her expertise and dedication, our special day went smoothly. To any couple embarking on their wedding planning journey, we absolutely recommend Lucy at The Perfect Knot for all your wedding planning needs.

ry much overwhelmed, when the director at our venue recommended Lucy. She came highly regarded, and from the very beginning, I immediately understood why. She is the most organized, knowledgeable, and supportive wedding coordinator I could have imagined. Lucy is so good at her job that I really do not think I can do it justice through words. She is kind and understanding, diligent and communicative, and I will be thankful to Lucy for ensuring a smooth and amazing wedding day forever (the gratitude I have for her runs deep!!). Lucy will make your experience so, so, so much better. I am SO lucky to have worked with her.

s exactly how I pictured it. I couldn’t have pulled it off without her! It was extremely easy to contact her via phone or email. I was able to schedule a meeting or a chat with her at any point during the planning process. She made sure that we didn’t forget anything. She made sure that anything important to us was covered with ease. My husband and I will have the best memories forever because we decided to hire Lucy. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

is an investment that pays dividends, plus more, especially if you hire Lucy. You plan your wedding for months or even over a year in advance; thus, you want to ensure you can enjoy that day (trust me, it will fly by due to the busy schedule alone) thus you want to ensure you have everything in place to enjoy that moment you deserve. Lucy is such a genuinely sweet individual who just has the purest intentions for you and your spouse. No words can describe her value, her work ethic and kind spirit. There was one moment where I was very nervous due to unhealthy family dynamics, and she picked up on it instantly and provided a moment of support that allowed me to remember I am safe. This is something she did not have to do, but just speaks volumes to her character. Lucy is extremely organized and ensured that I had everything finalized well in advance before the wedding. I have never planned a wedding before so it was nice to have a resource to ensure I, indeed finished everything. She had contacted all of my vendors for me, obtained all of their documents required by the venue, established the timeline, arranged each vendor's arrival times and locations, set up reserve signs for me at the ceremony, created a timeline for the bridal party, and so much more. She was able to tame our rambunctious bridal party. It was great. She has a variety of plans to fit your need and budget, so please inquire with Lucy. I think something important to note is that through all of the emails and channels of communication, she never missed one detail, and trust me, many things change the month and weeks before the wedding. But she did not miss one single thing. My husband and I are forever grateful to Lucy and her team. We would not have had the wedding of our dreams if it was not for Lucy. I hope you choose Lucy to be a part of your wedding. It will be the one decision you will find the most value in (besides marrying your spouse!) Happy wedding planning! (we chose the 3 month package however she was nice enough to allow communication beyond the 3 months. She is amazing.)

Even if you are planning your wedding yourself like I did.. We had a short 6 month engagement so I did all the research for vendors and what type of set up I wanted.. There is so much more to planning and executing the perfect day than what I could do. You can buy all your decor, signs, organize vendors, but when it comes to the month of planning and the day of coordination, you will want to have Lucy by your side making sure everything goes well. She is exceptional at what she does. She does offer services for full blown wedding planning from start to finish which I didn't need but I know if you are interested in that, she would be amazing to have. Lucy is very organized, communicative and calming. My nerves were starting to get the best of me and she is so cool, calm, collected and that really helped me out on our wedding day. She was also amazing leading up to the wedding and communicated via email and text with me and answered all of my questions and gave me friendly reminders of things I needed to get to her. She executed our day perfectly and didn't forget anything. My husband I loved working with her and on our wedding day my family met her and loved her as well. She really is the nicest and sweetest person. I highly recommend working with her for whatever type of wedding you are planning. :)

t with planning a multi-day, multi-culture wedding and Lucy was soooo helpful. She took the time to think about budget-friendly ideas, went above and beyond with communication and speaking with our vendors, and was the reason everything ran so smoothly. Lucy is kind, patient, organized, and just the best wedding planner! I could not recommend her more!!

ovided the guidance we needed while we sorted out the never ending details of our big day. Prior to the big day, she managed our full day's timeline, communication between our many vendors, kept me on track time wise, and managed to calm me down when certain aspects of planning caused me frustration. She was kind enough to make sure our ceremony rehearsal was straightforward and quick, leaving us to enjoy our rehearsal dinner and time with our friends and family the night before the wedding. On the morning of our wedding, Lucy made sure that everyone was where they needed to be, every detail was in order, nothing was misplaced or forgotten. She made sure that I drank and ate throughout the morning, decorated the entire reception area with the help of her assistant and the florist (everything was stunning and well beyond my expectations), rounded up my large family so that I got all the group family pictures I wanted, and ran back to our hotel room to grab things I had forgotten in all the chaos. If you are on the fence and think you may not need a wedding coordinator, save yourself the stress and hire Lucy. You will absolutely not regret it. You deserve a fun, beautiful, stress free day and she can help you achieve it! Our day was PERFECT and we owe so much of that to her. Thank you Lucy!!!

d we were to work with her. Suffice it to say, that in whatever capacity, you’ll want her involved in your own wedding if you want to enjoy your day to the fullest. “Weddings are stressful” is the conventional wisdom. Incredibly less stressful with the assistance of a wedding planner as capable and skilled as Lucy Tan. She was adept at including everyone in the process while prioritizing our vision of the perfect wedding. Whenever we felt flustered, Lucy was calm and prepared with a solution at hand. The enjoyment of our wedding day by all in attendance was in no small part due to Lucy’s attentiveness. Additionally, she had great relationships with all of our vendors and the venue. They loved working with her as much as we did! We highly recommend working with Lucy Tan and the Perfect Knot!

f our wedding seamless. The wedding day was perfect - everything was on time and better than anticipated. Her ability to manage vendors, guests, family, as well as appear at the right place at the right time to guide us through the day made the entire day stress free and picture perfect. We couldn't have asked for more and highly recommend!

d experience were to making our wedding possible in the midst of challenging and stressful family events. Even without these events, I highly recommend hiring a coordinator, especially for destination weddings. We live in Seattle but got engaged and planned our wedding in San Diego. As non-locals, it was critical to have someone with experience and local contacts to help us narrow down the vendors and options, which is undoubtedly one of the most time-consuming and overwhelming parts of the wedding planning. Lucy is experienced, focused, and attentive--she will listen and understand the couple's preferences, style, unique circumstances, budget, and will keep all of those factors in consideration throughout the planning phase and on the day of the wedding. We also very much appreciated that Lucy tried to come up with more cost-saving options and was incredibly helpful in guiding us regarding a million details and decisions given that we both came into the wedding planning pretty clueless. My then fiance and I had lots of questions in the beginning, later followed by many ideas --Lucy was key to helping us understand what was important and prioritize accordingly. She also beautifully and quickly incorporated all of our ideas into a wedding day timeline so that it flowed smoothly and perfectly. In addition to her great event planning skills, Lucy is a great person to work with: she's open, considerate, and kind and yet is ready to share her opinion and honest feedback when asked. On the day of, Lucy ran the show: she got everything well-coordinated and covered--from vendors, small and big details, timing, bridal party, guests, and us. I have no idea how she managed to be everywhere and keep an eye out on everything yet never being in the center of attention. Lucy truly made the wedding seem to flow effortlessly and perfectly, managing it all from behind the scenes. It is an impressive ability that we did not take for granted! Also, despite it being a SD wedding, it started pouring rain on our wedding day. While we were disappointed regarding the timing of the weather, I didnt worry at all about the ceremony (the location of which had to change since the rehearsal), because I knew that Lucy had a back-up plan in mind. It is hard to overstate how much of a difference it made to have Lucy by our side and running the day so that we could just let go, not look at the time, not stress about back-up plans and details, and instead be in the moment and enjoy our special day. We had a truly fantastic wedding despite the rain, resulting in a change of plans on the day of. Many of our guests noticed how well-planned our day was and we got tons of compliments about it being one of the most fun and enjoyable weddings they have ever attended. Lucy played a key role in making all that happen, and we are forever grateful.

ing us with checklists, helping us find vendors, confirming all details, decorating - and most importantly being a source of emotional support through the stress of planning. Lucy is knowledgeable, organized, calm, and made our day feel effortless, even though I knew she was doing one million things behind the scenes. We loved working with her and would 10000% recommend her!

and adaptable. She was in communication with us every step of the way over the 1.5 years of planning and never failed to ease my nerves when various concerns arose. She truly thought of everything and I knew we were in good hands on our special day - we really couldn’t have gotten through wedding week without Lucy! I cannot recommend her enough!

yacht, I promise it will be the best investment you could make for your wedding! Secondly, HIRE LUCY!!! If I could give 100 stars I would! Lucy was incredible. From big picture plans to day of details, Lucy made things seamless on a day that many brides refer to as stressful! She made excellent recommendations, set up site visits and taste testing's, did all the follow up and gave insightful suggestions based on her experience that were game changers. Lucy had every "i" dotted and "t" crossed. She was so in tune with what we wanted for our day and she was able to bring it to life perfectly. I can't even begin to express my gratitude for all she did for our wedding. She was such a delight to work with, and we could not have been happier with the service she provided.

ld recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone and everyone. My (now) husband and I live on the East Coast so we knew we needed to work with someone who was familiar with the area & vendors since most planning would occur remotely. Lucy recommended vendors to us that were within our budget and that she trusted. I cannot say enough positive things about all the vendors she recommended to us that we used (not to mention some of them were vendors that we likely would have never found ourselves by searching online). Lucy has a very even and steady demeanor that was perfect for us through the whole process – she has found the balance of being both a calming force, but also is steadfast in making sure everyone is on the same page and that everything is in place as it should be. We were able to visit for one long weekend prior to the wedding. Lucy attended vendor appointments with us and asked questions that I truly would have never thought to ask – down to how heavy certain appetizers felt in our hands in order to make sure they were easy for our guests to eat during cocktail hour (while at our catering tasting). On the day of the wedding, Lucy made sure we were all where we were supposed to be without stressing anyone out and was on top of everything. I’m sure there were things she handled that we don’t even know about, which is the true mark of an incredible wedding planner in my book! She also flawlessly handled take down so that we could continue to enjoy our day with our guests at the afterparty. Again, we couldn’t recommend her any more highly and if we had to do it all over again, we’d choose her every time!

could be hands-on "on the ground," have good connections to vendors, and be highly communicative & organized. After our wedding this past month, we are so happy to report that Lucy was all of those things and more. We hired Lucy for full-service wedding planning and from the very start, we needed a lot of help finding a venue considering we wouldn't be in town for any of the process. We thought it would be impossible to get an oceanfront venue that matched our budget with a 6 month engagement, but within a few days Lucy had sent out dozens of emails & was fielding a thousand quotes. The wedding venue we chose in the end was beyond perfect and my (then) fiance & I agreed that selecting her was already proving well worth it in the first two weeks. Beyond that, she maintained a great amount of communication and organization for everything from major details (vendor selection) to tiny details (picking out easels). Thanks to her connections, we were able to negotiate some great deals that would have cost us far more if we were doing it ourselves. She consistently went above and beyond: once, by driving to our preferred donut shop when she couldn't get in contact with them via email or telephone. Another time when she rearranged one of her own trips to meet with us in person during a small time-span that we would be in town. She quickly understood our vision, what was important to us, what we were willing to save money on, and managed to bring everything together. The two things we appreciated the most was how she saved our inboxes by consolidating all of the research/vendor emails for us (we both have extremely demanding jobs) & made sure that no balls were being dropped. She did a great job of bringing things to attention only when they needed to be dealt with, so we could tackle little sections at a time. I can't imagine dealing with everything on our own! As a person, Lucy has a warm & reassuring personality, but is also extremely sensible and will share her opinion if needed. We really valued having someone like that rather than just a "yes" person who agreed with bad decisions! She brings years of experience to the table, and that really came through on the day of the wedding when she managed to catch that my dad had forgotten to pick up a major item (fortunately with enough time to resolve it with no issues!). There were so many other little things that made it immeasurably helpful to have Lucy there - from making sure we stay hydrated, to only informing us of things when we needed to be, to setting all of the decor up perfectly. We truly can't imagine going through this wedding planning process from 3000 miles away without her. I would definitely recommend her to anyone planning a wedding in San Diego!

e had a small list of planners from my sister-in-law who had searched previously for planners in San Diego and after checking their websites, reviews, and looking at photos of weddings they had organized, we decided that Lucy would be perfect for us. We got the full package with her. Our wedding was in May 2017 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego. It turned out to be an elegant and fun-filled event and I know for sure that Lucy was the one who helped it all come together! Even from the start, we were skeptical that such a nice event could come together in the short time of two months, but Lucy was very calm, full of insight, and offered us a plan to get everything done and on track. She laid out the expectations early on, that we be in touch at least once a day, and was always focused on the things we wanted and gave us more options to work with than we thought could be found given our short timeframe. She's really exceptional at considering the values of the couple and full of suggestions as to how we can work to incorporate those things into our wedding. (For example, we were really adamant about bringing in some fun activities--we had a pinata, nintendo game, pop-a-shot, giant jenga, and foosball at our wedding. And she always made all of our ideas seem like possibilities, as crazy as they were.) She helped us find the venue and negotiated a good price for us, which worked out perfectly given our desire to have a wheelchair-accessible wedding in a setting with some San Diegan amenities (the marina was beautiful). She gave us recommendations to great vendors, was super understanding of our desire to keep our budget low, also realistic about what could be our budget, and had a detailed and organized plan for everything that helped our day go so smoothly. Since we were out-of-towners, we had just one weekend meeting (one day and half) in person with Lucy, which worked out perfectly and goes to show how organized Lucy is because I didn't realize everything could be done in such a short time period (meeting with venue, cake-tasting, and with florist to determine basically everything). I know she was also bombarded on the wedding day by all of my bridal party, family, and even friends who had many demands, but she took all of that in stride and was always trying to put us (bride and groom) at ease. Even when weather-related last minute changes had to be made, she didn't panic or cause us any panic, but patiently gave us options and the space to figure out how we wanted to proceed. We really felt that she did an exceptional job guiding us through this wedding process process. We had so much fun at our wedding, and thankfully, all of our guests did too!

mend her without hesitation. Here are some reasons why: • Lucy’s services started 1 month prior to our wedding day. During that final month, she seamlessly handled and finalized all arrangements with our vendors, allowing us to disengage from the logistics and feel excited rather than overwhelmed as our big day approached. • She took the time to deeply understand our vision for aesthetics going into the event, and helped turn the vision into reality by working step-by-step with the florist, caterers and furniture rental crew for several hours on wedding day before the guests arrived. • Every time we met her – whether it was just Lucy, Shannon and I, or if other parties were involved – Lucy was always the first to arrive. • She talked through every conceivable detail with us –from the rehearsal the day before, through our triumphant exit from the reception – and asked us questions we would have never thought of. “How are the groomsmen/bridesmaids getting from the pre-wedding photo session at La Estancia to the wedding venue?” Hmmm, great question! • Everything was written down on paper going into wedding day. This applied to both the ceremony - reserved family seating chart, exact order of wedding party members walking down the aisle, ceremony music (song, artist, and order), and it also applied to the reception – table numbering, order of speeches, exact time of cake cutting, etc. • She was our dedicated troubleshooter to deal with the inevitable day-of mishaps. We found out a month after the event that our beverage vendor only arrived with half our alcohol order. Lucy checked the delivery against our order sheet, and when she saw the discrepancy, she insisted that the delivery person leave and come right back with the balance of the order. She was sweet 90% of the time, but could turn into a taskmaster when needed, which is exactly what this job calls for. • She somehow managed to get 6 young flower girls/ring bearers (aged 2-8) to walk down the aisle in pairs, to walk at the right pace, and to not stop until they reached the altar. Shannon thinks it was Lucy’s British accent that commanded their attention. Maybe, maybe not, but whatever works! :) • She performed her duties masterfully until the very end of the reception, ensuring that cleanup/tear down happened according to script. Again, all in the name of taking care of the little details so Shannon and I could relax and have fun on our special day. Bottom line: 15 minutes before the ceremony, one of my friends noted that I seemed shockingly calm. I told him that besides knowing that I was marrying the right girl, it was because I knew we had hired an ace coordinator who had everything under control. And my confidence in her was 100% validated. Lucy nailed everything, and we owe a huge part of our successful day to her. Kevin

ar, direct and concise communication style best fit our personalities and made us confident that she would have been able to handle any unforeseen wedding-day mishaps. In the months preceding our wedding Lucy promptly answered all the questions we had and provided us with several vendor recommendations to make our wedding-day vision come to life. Lucy met with us a month before our wedding to review our ceremony, reception and photoshoot timelines, music choices, and close any action items still open with our vendors. The meeting was of great help as we had not realized how many hair/makeup, ceremony, bouquet toss and speeches details needed to be finalized before our big day. In the following weeks Lucy made several suggestions to improve both our ceremony and reception timelines, and continued to tweak them according to our last-minute requests. She also contacted one last time all our vendors and took great care to ensure that our big day at La Valencia was flawless. During our rehearsal she made sure all the members of our wedding party had a chance to practice their entrance until they were completely comfortable with it. On our wedding day everything ran so smoothly we only had to worry about enjoying it. Lucy coordinated the arrival of all our vendors, found somebody who could help my husband avert a bowtie crisis, helped our musician getting setup and directed our guests as necessary. We did not have to keep track of time as Lucy and her assistant made sure we were where we were supposed to be without making us feel rushed, and allowing us to fully enjoy every moment of our very special day. We couldn’t be happier with how the day went. Lucy was fabulous and we highly recommend her for your wedding day!

r wedding and the best decision we made. Lucy was so fabulous and her execution so seamless, that multiple women at the wedding asked for her card (and some of them were not even engaged). Lucy kept us happy, on budget and sane. There is no better wedding planner than Lucy Tan. If you are going to hire a wedding planner, do yourself a favor and hire Lucy. In terms of price, Lucy’s rates were very reasonable for full services. We interviewed 5 different Knot-recommended planning companies. Lucy’s rates were by far the most inclusive and budget-friendly. And out of all of the individuals we interviewed, Lucy was the only one to come fully prepared to our meeting with ideas, schedules, suggestions, and resources. Overall, Lucy’s level of professionalism was unmatched by any other planner in San Diego – including the ones charging twice her price. In terms of budget (the brides main concern) Lucy got us amazing deals on all of our vendors. Every vendor that Lucy recommended gave us a discount because of her personal relationships with them. In total, we saved more money than the full planning services cost based on just the discounts Lucy negotiated. And because of Lucy’s amazing resources, we came in under budget despite adding 30 people to the guest list last minute. We also had to hire a wide variety of vendors because we were having the wedding and reception outside at a garden. Lucy was able to find us exactly what we were looking for. She also set up and attended all of our vendor appointments to make sure we were completely happy and asking all the right questions. Also, all of the vendors Lucy suggested were completely dependable and professional. We had no concerns or issues with any of the vendors and all of them praised Lucy’s coordination and organization. Any time a question, change or problem came up, Lucy handled it immediately and efficiently with minimal to no need for consultation from us. For two busy people, that was an amazing asset and kept us both sane through this process. Lucy was always available and reachable. But she was able to take a ton of the work and pressure off of us through her own amazing organization and management. Finally, Lucy put out numerous fires during the month leading up to our wedding. The week of the wedding, I had a bridesmaid in the hospital and a death in the family that lead to multiple people not attending. Lucy handled changing the hotel reservations and making sure no one was charged for last minute cancellations. When our guest list jumped from 85 to 115 less than a month before the wedding, Lucy was able to get all of the extra items (chairs, tables, food, beverage) handled with no problems and no surcharges. Despite the addition of numbers, Lucy managed to keep us within our budget. In addition, when I forgot to buy a guestbook and picture frames, Lucy showed up the day of the wedding with various options for us to choose from. And when we forgot the tips for the vendors, Lucy went to an ATM, tipped them with her own money and let me pay her back after our honeymoon.

mention we have never planned a wedding before. When we looked in to getting a wedding planner we had already booked our venue and just needed guidance and support on the rest of the steps. Lucy customized a package for us that fit our needs precisely. Working with Lucy was a pleasure. She is bright, responsible and prompt at returning calls, emails and for meetings. She is on top of any request or questions and gets the job done without a fuss. We had a couple of hiccups prior to the wedding, such as the restaurant for the rehearsal dinner closing a week before the wedding, but Lucy went to work and found us another place within a few hours. The day of the wedding she was professional and handled everything with poise and confidence. I would highly recommend Lucy to anyone looking for a professional planner that is honest and provides value for her clients.

both wanted a wedding, but didn’t want to plan it or deal with logistics, so we hired our miracle worker, Lucy, for full package planning. The initial reason we chose Lucy was because of her professionalism. After working with her, the reasons to hire her are too many to list. The biggest help she provided was in dealing with our constant indecisiveness and coordinating with vendors. We came in knowing only that we wanted a romantic atmosphere and vendors with top service. What we ended up with was a wedding that we’re constantly getting compliments for, especially about how nicely it came together. We asked for advice on so many different things (dress, invitations, cake, etc.), and Lucy always responded quickly with helpful suggestions. As with any big project, there were hiccups along the way, but Lucy always found a solution. Day of, we didn’t have to worry about a single thing, except enjoying ourselves! We don’t even want to think about how stressful the last 5 months would’ve been without her. Coming from management jobs, we know first hand how many details Lucy shielded us from and would never hesitate to recommend hiring her. Thank you Lucy!

after falling in love with Balboa Park. Initially we did not think we needed a coordinator but after we found all the vendors, we realized we had to have someone to direct everyone and take the pressure off of us. Thanks to Lucy we really got to enjoy our wedding day!!!! She did so much more than just one day's worth of work. She developed the timeline, made very helpful suggestions. and kept in touch with all of our vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page. We were DIY when it comes to flowers and Lucy came in early to help us arrange all the centerpieces. She found all the place cards, party favors, and other decor that we brought with us before we even got to tell her where we put them. She stayed calm the entire time, which really put everyone at ease, especially the bride:). We were all very impressed by her professionalism. She made our wedding go so smoothly and we received tons of compliments on how well organized everything was. Lucy was such a pleasure to work with, she listened to everything, and worked very hard to make our dream wedding come true!!!!! Thank you so much Lucy!!!
