The Hook Club

ur vision for the day to life. During and after the wedding, we received countless compliments about how amazing and fun the band was. The musicians were all so dynamic with a majority of them playing instruments AND singing, which made the performances feel so energetic and engaging. They truly kept the dance floor going all night long!! We had an absolute blast and a night we will always remember thanks to The Hook Club. If you’re looking for a wedding band in the NY/NJ area, we highly recommend them!

d, and we even based our wedding venue selection around their availability — that’s how incredible they are. Since our wedding, we’ve received dozens of messages from guests asking about the band and telling us they were the best wedding band they’ve ever seen. The dance floor was packed all night long, and the energy never dropped for a second. Dan and the entire team were unbelievable to work with. They accommodated some unique music requests and created the perfect blend of oldies and modern music that kept every generation on the dance floor. The DJ/band hybrid was such a game changer because they were able to play songs that many of our guests said they had never heard at weddings before. They also provided violin music for our ceremony and cocktail hour, which was absolutely beautiful and such a highlight of the day. Every detail was handled perfectly, and their attention to detail throughout the entire process was truly unbelievable. If you want a wedding where your guests are talking about the music all night, book The Hook Club. They exceeded every expectation we had.

ward DJ A Ball + The Hook Club and we never looked back. MC Jesse got and kept everyone pumped up, and we intrinsically trusted DJ Ash to read the room and keep the energy right where it needed to be. And, THC gave us so much room to customize our experience. We’re both music heads, and we had a lot of very specific, queer, sentimental song requests. We came away from our wedding truly feeling like we had the best DJ of any wedding we’ve ever been to.

and vocal set for our ceremony and then turned up the energy with a live saxophone and stylistic DJ set that our wedding guests are still talking about! They are a standout company and will collaborate with you in the most wonderful way to make your entertainment vision a reality no matter how big or small!

ad a guitarist playing before the ceremony, which set the vibe perfectly and was an excellent lead-in to our acoustic processional track. During cocktail hour, two musicians from The Hook Club performed on saxophone and an on-site piano. Several of our guests highlighted this pairing as one of their favorite parts of the night. Lastly, during the reception the guitarist, saxophonist, and pianist joined the rest of the band in one of their DJ Band arrangements. The sound from the DJ Band is really, really great, and the footprint is tiny compared to a full classic band. We were astounded by how good this sounded! All of our guests talked about how great the band was, and somehow everyone felt like their musical taste had been appealed to. We opted for a 6-member version of the DJ Band that included an extra vocalist, and it opened up the setlist and sound in a great way. The planning process was very smooth. They have a web application that allows for selecting “must-haves”, “maybes”, and “absolutely nots” from across their extremely wide repertoire. You go through this selection process for each sequence in your wedding for which they are providing music. There are also song requests available in each sequence, and a separate selection process for any songs or tracks related to “special moments” during your reception. Because we opted for the DJ Band, it was really easy for them to work in the specific track-only pieces we wanted (an acoustic song for first dance — which they did a custom edit of to match the length we desired), while beefing up the presentation of some others (”My House” by Flo Rida for our intro song, which they performed as a track with live vocals). It was also the little things — the amplification and microphone quality for the ceremony, the way the uplighting accented and transformed the space, the live management of the event. I highly recommend The Hook Club.

ange of music - from American wedding classics, to Pop, to Reggaeton, to Merengue, to Bachata — and a group that could MC the evening in Spanish and English, and bring the energy to keep the party going.  We went with Hook Club’s 7 piece DJ Band, and they were above and beyond fantastic. They curated a setlist that somehow, despite the wide range of music, flowed together and was cohesive. I can’t express enough how talented they are vocally, instrumentally, professionally, and as performers. The dance floor was absolutely lit; even my brother who was on crutches and had a torn labrum couldn’t stay away. It makes me tear up thinking about how much energy, positivity, and happiness they brought to our night — they will always have a special place in our hearts. They are also true professionals - the planning process was easy, they were prompt in all communication, and on the day of they handled venue-related hiccups with grace. They were the first vendor to arrive to ensure a thorough set up, and the last to leave.  They are truly such a special, one of a kind group, and I cannot recommend them enough. Of all the many decisions we made in planning our wedding, choosing THC was by far the best decision of them all. Although our wedding was back in August; our friends and family are still talking about The Hook Club, exlusively referring to them as “ the best wedding band they have ever heard before”. We had a fairly diverse crowd in terms of age, background, taste in music and their ability to please that wide range of people is a testament to their talent. THANK YOU TO THE HOOK CLUB !!!

oy to work with—genuinely kind, passionate people who care deeply about creating the perfect musical experience. They know events, they know music, and they know exactly how to bring the two together seamlessly. My husband and I have very different music tastes (think “recession-pop meets ’80s hits”), but Jesse and his team completely nailed the challenge. We hired their Hybrid DJ + Band, and they blew us—and our guests—away. The dance floor was packed all night, and even our self-proclaimed “non-dancers” couldn’t resist joining in. THC handled every musical moment with perfection: elegant strings for our ceremony, fun pop-classical vibes for cocktail hour, and a curated dinner playlist that set the perfect tone. They even went above and beyond with special requests, including a crowd-favorite “horah tutorial.” Every part of our day felt personal, elevated, and effortless thanks to them. We had the best time working with this team and can’t recommend them highly enough—book The Hook Club if you want your wedding to be unforgettable!

rought the FUN! The ceremony, the cocktail hour funky trio and into the dancing - the whole night was epic thanks to the Hook Club!!!

uly delivered! Hire them for the best wedding ever!

understanding your musical taste and the experience you want to create. In the months leading up to the wedding, they worked closely with us to refine that vision and then brought it to life in ways that completely exceeded our expectations. Both my wife and I come from Caribbean families, and we had older relatives attending. We wanted to honor that with some Caribbean music, but I struggled to create a playlist that would satisfy everyone. Jesse listened, smiled, and said, “Don’t worry, we got you.” And they did. Midway through the night, the band launched into a live Caribbean set that wasn’t even on our list, but it was perfect. It was so nostalgic that even our older relatives with canes were on the dance floor. That moment said it all: these guys truly know music, understand the formula for a great time, and make it their mission to elevate your vision. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Just book them. You won’t regret it.

Club was incredible. They were so easy to work with, with a huge repertoire of songs and willingness to accept requests. They made our entire wedding feel so special. Our guests had so much fun at the reception and we received compliments on the musicians for weeks after!

ng. It felt like we were back in New Orleans. It was also a pleasure to plan everything from booking to planning out the music/MC details. The custom excel makes it so easy and transparent. Jesse even went above and beyond to meet with our family to learn/discuss special song requests. All of our special requests, events, and Jewish songs were executed perfectly. Thank you Jesse, Emily, L'Marco, Bree, and the rest of the band!! - Lindsay and Sam (NYBG 2025)

plus they are willing to work on any song requests you may have. We asked them to play the Notre Dame fight song and they did not disappoint. You know you have the best band when everyone is complimenting them long after your wedding. We cannot thank them enough for making our wedding so special.

they played was absolutely perfect. They were so welcoming to suggestions and custom song choices to make our day uniquely tailored to us. The entire planning process felt effortless with The Hook Club, and people of all ages were dancing for the entire setlist! Everything was executed perfectly, including our new orleans-style second line from ceremony to cocktail hour! We definitely recommend Hook Club for any event!! Thank you for everything, Hook Club!!

ebration was to hire The Hook Club after seeing them at a friend’s wedding before we met. It was the only part of the wedding planning process he felt truly passionate about from the jump – we knew we wanted them before we even had a venue or date and went so far as to clear our potential dates with them before booking anything else. Fast forward, and Dan made the band planning process so supported and seamless that my husband’s one job went off without a hitch. The problem? Despite me planning every other single little detail of our three-day wedding weekend, the first thing that every single guest complimented (and still raves above, 1 month later) was THE BAND! But in truth, we wouldn’t have it any other way. We are absolutely ecstatic with our choice of hiring The Hook Club for our wedding. We did acoustic guitars for the ceremony, sax and tracks for cocktail and band and DJ for reception. THC was outstanding to work with from the jump. Dan is a wealth of knowledge and organization, and brings a calm, cool, collected vibe through every step of the planning process. Not to mention, he’s a great musician who can come discuss timeline with you while also playing the base day of :D. The process THC uses to help plan is smooth and clear. The communication was great throughout – we knew what to expect from the first planning call all the way up to some adhoc timeline changes day of. The band has an extensive repertoire and was able to take in our song, vibe, and timeline requests while also using their extensive experience to guide us along the way. The music carried the vibe throughout the day – from guitars at the ceremony to sax and tracks leading through cocktail hour and a mix of dance sets, slow dances, and expert MC’ing on the dance floor, we couldn’t get enough. So much so, that we extended the end time of the event just to have more fun on the dance floor with THC! Everyone was so nice, supportive, energetic and just brought their outstandingly talented A game and the absolute best vibe. The band got out on the dance floor with us, led us in call and response and a little choreographed proud Mary moment. Our first dance song is not a very common song, not only did THC learn it for us, but they provided us a track of their composition beforehand so we could practice the dance. You’ll see in the pictures my face when I first heard them play it – completely awestruck! That was pretty much my inner face the entire rest of the night in their presence. I have so many fond memories of engaging with THC throughout our wedding. If I could do it again, I’d hire THC without a second thought.

ice, and so knowledgable. Dan and THC team made planning super easy for us. They took time to hear about our hopes and helped recommend different band sizes for us. We hadn’t heard of a DJ band before, but loved the idea of some live music with the versatility to play all sorts of music, but our venue wasn’t very big and we also didn’t want to break the bank and hire a huge band. We chose the 4 piece DJ band with singer, sax, drums, and DJ. We knew we LOVED the sax, so we also had the sax play for cocktail hour (shout out to Elijah, who was amazing), and it was one of the best parts of the night. For planning music, they sent out a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet with more songs than one could imagine, and we could rate ones we liked the most, choose ones we definitely wanted or didn't, and choose specific songs for important moments. We met a couple times to review music choices as well. One of our biggest fears with a DJ was that they'd talk too much and be a little annoying, but Dan did a great job as MC, and was very low-key like we asked but announced important moments clearly. Dan and all the musicians had such great energy and got everyone on the dance floor. Our vocalist, Christen, was also amazing — her voice was spectacular, and she was such an amazing performer and got everyone involved in the music and dancing. So many people told us how much they loved the music and the energy, and had never heard of a DJ band but thought it was an amazing concept and the addition of live music over tracks added extra excitement and fun. THC also helped out with lighting (uplights and dance lights), and worked with our fantastic planner and the venue to help us decide the best setup. Ultimately, we loved working with THC. Their DJ-band setup is unique and adds so much variety to your music while allowing for some of the energy that comes from live performers. We danced the night away and had an absolute blast. 100% would recommend THC to anyone!

. They are way more than a wedding band, they become part of the party! The chemistry, excitement and energy they bring out from the moment they start was amazing to watch and we felt incredibly lucky that they were available on our wedding day. From ceremony to cocktail hour all the way through a longer reception and after party; they didn't miss a beat. The music planning prior to the wedding was also easy with great guidance as they want to make sure they play what you want but can adjust to the crowd in the moment. They are professional through and through with a personal touch that creates magic. WE LOVE THEM!!!

d the emcee - Emily - who absolutely was amazing!!! They were SO helpful and made the night so much fun. The drums and sax killed it!! We can’t thank them enough. The whole process working with them was so much fun - they are so organized and detailed and Dan helped with beyond we expected, from the itinerary to the timing of the whole thing. We had no idea what we were doing and Dan and Emily just helped so much in guiding us and making us feel comfortable. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!

acoustic version. Trista’s voice brought it to life in such a special way that left everyone talking. From our intro call with Dan to the big day, they made the entire process seamless and personal. Highly recommend them if you want something memorable and one-of-a-kind!

eautiful and added such a special touch to the moment. Even when a few unexpected hiccups came up that were beyond their control, they handled everything flawlessly, keeping the atmosphere calm and magical. When it came to the reception, they really brought the energy! Their song selections were on point, keeping all of our guests on the dance floor the entire night. They were also fantastic at accommodating song requests, which made the evening feel even more personalized. The talent of each member of the band was undeniable, and their ability to keep the crowd engaged and having fun was incredible. We highly recommend The Hook Club for any event—they truly went above and beyond to make our day unforgettable!

d, professional, and easygoing. Planning with them felt effortless, and they really took the time to understand the vibe we wanted for our big day. But the night of the wedding? WOW. They blew us (and all of our guests) away. Their energy was absolutely insane—in the best way possible! They didn’t just play music; they brought the party to life. They were incredibly friendly, super interactive with our guests, and made everyone feel like they were part of the show. It was exactly what we were hoping for and more. We just got sneak peeks back from our photographer, and there are so many incredible shots with the band in them. You can literally see the energy radiating off the photos—people dancing, smiling, and having the time of their lives. The pictures capture how electric the night felt, with The Hook Club right at the center of it all. It’s clear from those images alone how special they made our wedding. We’ve lost count of how many people have told us they were the best band they’ve ever seen at a wedding. Friends and family keep asking us, “Where did you find them?!” because they were that good. Honestly, now we just want more of our friends to get married so we can tell them to book The Hook Club. If you want a wedding that your guests will be talking about for years, do yourself a favor—hire The Hook Club.

looking for that, absolutely go with the Hook Club. It truly blurs the lines of live performance and studio quality. Sometimes you need a live sax, and sometimes you need the bouncy synths of a Beyonce song. Have you ever wanted to hear 50 Cent's In da Club with live horns? Its perfect for a wedding. Loved working with them, they nailed all our our special requests and kept people DANCING. That's what it's all about

ony/cocktail hour which was lovely (and we had a special request song for walking down the aisle that they perfected). Then we had a 9 piece band for the reception and they absolutely killed it. They are talented musicians and were so upbeat and fun - they knew how to get the crowd going. Many guests commented to us how amazing the band was. And the after party dj was great too. They were also so easy to work with - they sent a music request sheet ahead of time for us to indicate songs we wanted/didn’t want that was easy to use and very helpful. And they took special requests. They were also very flexible and kind throughout the whole process. Cannot recommend highly enough

instruments added just the right amount of depth and dimension to the songs. They even arranged and learned a custom request for the processional at no extra charge. Several guests commented that they loved The Hook Club's classical renditions of pop songs. I definitely recommend them!

ired a fiddle player for our ceremony and the jazz trio for our cocktail hour and were so happy with this decision – they really knocked it out of the park. Dan was a pleasure to work with throughout the process – he was professional, communicative, and gave us invaluable advice throughout the process. For example, he gave very helpful input on our reception structure and timeline. We were so happy with our music and highly recommend The Hook Club!

were looking for. The Hook Club played a major role in making our wedding reception an unforgettable celebration. The energy they brought was simply electric and it’s no surprise that we received countless compliments from friends and family about how much fun they had. The band was engaging and created a vibrant atmosphere on the dance floor. Beyond their music the band also left us fun messages on our audio guestbook. This extra touch let us know that they aren’t just a band but a group that genuinely loves what they do and who they do it for.

3 horn players a few weeks before our wedding (also a great choice). We had several meetings with Dan and other band members during the planning process, during which we went through their Music Planning Worksheet - an INCREDIBLE tool that allowed us to guide the set list and also helped us plan out our wedding day. We planned an unconventional parade-style disco processional and a few performances by guests and Dan worked with us to bring our vision to life. My dad, a veteran drummer who has played thousands of wedding gigs in his 5-decade career, had lots of questions for THC during the planning process, and they patiently worked with him to plan for him to sit in for a few songs. He was totally impressed with the band, especially the drummer, (and he’s hard to impress!) and loved playing with them. The dance floor was packed throughout the night with guests ranging from my 10-year-old cousins to our grandparents and great-aunts and -uncles in their late 80s. Our guests loved the energy of the band and the variety of styles that they were able to perform, way beyond the standard wedding playlist. Each musical moment of our wedding - the processional parade, ceremony and recessional music, cocktail hour playlist, the hora (during which the dancing moved outside and the band followed), our guests’ performances, and hours of amazing dancing - was absolutely seamless and perfect beyond our wildest dreams, thanks to The Hook Club.

pecial requests for classic rock songs that were not on the band's initial list, and boy did they execute everything! From Peter Frampton to Bowie to the Grateful Dead to Boston to the Talking Heads, the Hook Club flawlessly performs a massive range of music. Our guests were stunned. Oh – and they absolutely nailed DJing our silent disco after party! The video and photo footage of guests dancing is absolutely hilarious, the Hook Club brought the moves out of everyone. Thank you SO much to this incredible band. If they are available on your wedding date DEFINITELY HIRE THEM!!!

n & the team were incredibly knowledgeable and committed to making my vision a reality. From custom requests to audio/visual support for a DJ playing later in the night, The Hook Club delivered on it all. Their seemingly infinite energy was matched by the crowd and, weeks later, we’re still hearing from friends and family what a great job they did. They offer an easy to use spreadsheet for tracking the night, giving you the ability to rank songs everywhere from a ‘definite yes’ to a ‘definite no’. They took the time to understand the vibe we were looking for and ran with it. Every member of the band was professional and, of course, insanely talented. They’ve considered everything from energy levels, transitions, and even how the music plays with the lighting package they offer. Don’t think twice - book The Hook Club.

yed songs that were special to the couple, that they interacted with the crowd and really had fun throughout the night! When it came time to planning my wedding, I knew I wanted to use them and not the typical NYC bands with no personality. We chose the 13 piece with horns. They were so friendly and organized with a massive, and well thought out setlist & planning sheet. They were so great with our special and quirky requests and the guests loved the unique songs we chose because it made the party feel different than every other wedding. We loved that everyone in the band gets in with the crowd because they brought so much fun energy. It's been 2 weeks since the wedding and everyone keeps talking to us about the band! How they had so much personality, how they were enjoying themselves and how they carried the vibe of the night. I could not recommend them MORE!!!!!

o engaging, energetic and talented. We had so many people tell us they were the best band they’ve seen. Stop your search and book THC now!!!

sound amazing, but they also had everyone on the dance floor the entire night. Their ability to engage with the crowd and keep the party going was truly impressive. If you want to ensure your wedding is a memorable and fun event, this band is an absolute must!

said " you have a concert at your wedding". It was the highlight of all of our nights and I am already looking for an excuse to hire The Hook Club Again! They made our night so special, took time to create special mixes for us and brought all of our visions to life! we LOVE The Hook Club.

ly delivered. They covered rock, pop, R&B, and everything in between. The band members were interactive and went out into the crowd, which everyone loved! They also accommodated and let a few of our performer friends sing/play, which was awesome! They had great energy and were also really flexible with any changes we wanted to make. For the planning of everything, they were super professional and communicative, probably the best vendor we had for the whole wedding! I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a fun and talented band!

l and made what felt like a nearly impossible task of narrowing down the music and vibe we wanted, so seamless, easy, and fun! The dancefloor was packed the entire night and the band was interactive with the guests and really knew how to keep people engaged and having the best time. I truly could not reccomend working with The Hook Club more. I am just hopeful we get to be at future weddings as a guest with them performing!!!!

iest vendor of all to work with). Dan listened carefully to our desires and performed flawlessly. He is a true professional, and even provided specially created “Fiddler on the Roof” music for my “Father of the Bride” speech. I believe we had 3 vocalists, and that also makes a very big difference. The intensity and energy of their music is unforgettable. Thank you Hook Club!

t your wedding band was? Great, you're done with your search. We worked with The Hook Club on an ambitious two-day wedding, which included them doing live sound for our Friday welcome party, live sound for the music at our ceremony, some deep cut requests, and our desire to not just have "another wedding band." What we got was an incredibly talented, creative, and kind group of people who were ready to make whatever we wanted happen, ready to add ideas and layers, and who then completely blew away our expectations. We're in that era of our lives where we've been to about 100 weddings in the last 10 years, and we can honestly say that no band has even come close to The Hook Club. A year later everyone is still talking about how great our band was. They are true professionals in every sense of the word, and you should seriously consider booking your venue around whether or not THC is available. That's not hyperbole - they were that good.

ocktail hour. They were super nice and awesome musicians. It started raining an hour into our cocktails so we had to move inside, and the bassist switched to playing a piano so that we could continue the music inside. Everyone was so impressed by how multi-talented they were!! Loved them and wish we had them play music for more of our reception. Dan, the founder, as well as the rest of their staff were incredibly organized and attentive throughout the planning process. Highly recommend!!

em sing! Loved working with them and you'll regret if you don't have them at your wedding!

ept coming back to THC because their online videos had an authentic, non-studio-enhanced sound that still beat out the quality of in-studio work from others. We really didn't want to take the final leap though until we could see them live. Dan was super-patient with us throughout the process, keeping us posted on when a showcase came down the pipeline. When we finally got to see them, it took about 2 songs to confirm they were the band for us. On our big day, we had an 11-piece band after the bride's dad surprised us with an add-on fiddler. Having said this, the band had 14 or 15 different people making music over the course of the night, as even their sound engineers got in on the action at different times. Every style and tempo was phenomenal--from songs in Spanish to the Hora to Motown to pop, they nailed it all. My wife and I have different tastes in music, yet both came away immensely satisfied with the setlist. I can't even count how many of our guests came up to us throughout the night complimenting the band. On top of it all, they learned (at least) four special request songs--these were performed with the perfect balance of true to why we love the songs, but with that live-music spin on things. THC was our favorite of all the vendors we worked with. Seriously--hire them now and save yourself time to plan the million other things on your list!

es throughout the evening how great they were - would definitely recommend!

hour and four piece DJ band at the reception was a highlight for us and our guests. Highly recommend!

r kids. Dan and his team have made it a breeze, we love the idea of a hybrid band and DJ. They even had a mini performance for the kids at cocktail hour!!!! Our guest LOVE their “cocktail kids” hour. The music and the band were a cherry on too of our perfect day! We appreciate The Hook Club sooo much! Oh! And thank you Dan for making my bubble tea dream come true for dessert! Guests were talking about it for weeks after. We can’t thank you guys enough!
