I am extremely disappointed in how our day of coordination went. My fiancee and I were concerned when we learned The Gage was going to be taken over by new management and that our ...original day of coordinator Kristen was quitting, and it seems like we had every right to be. Unfortunately, it seems like our wedding got the short end of the stick when it came to the changes that The Gage has undergone, which has been sad and unfair for us.
I think the root of the problem was that our day of coordinator was setting up everything during the day, so we had no one actually by our side running our timeline for the wedding, which was what was ensured to us. There were also several details missed. A couple things here and there I get totally happen, but for a day of coordinator fee of over $1300 and weeks spent on a day of binder that appeared to not even be out or touched was insane. All of the many questions our coordinator had were listed in the binder that was sent directly to The Gage. Here are some things that occurred that was disappointing: our dance floor sunglasses were never set out or touched, brochures for the ceremony were handed out last minute because thank god I caught the coordinator in time before the ceremony began, teacups for the guests were not set out until the last minute (similar situation, no one knew where they were even though they were dropped off accordingly and my Aunt had to run out and get them), the seating chart situation was a mess even though the layout was sent to The Gage directly, I was told day of coordinator would be there to fluff my dress and cue me to walk down for the ceremony and I had to grab a BARTENDER to do it for me at the last minute. Luckily her sweet soul tried her best. No one gathered the bridal party to tuck away upstairs at the loft, we just gathered people ourselves. Our contract stated we would have a security guard that never seemed to appeared. My cousin who provided a champagne tower was rudely dismissed with where to set up even though that floor plan was sent to The Gage. This happened in such a way that my aunt had to intervene to get a straight answer. Again, a couple of things here and there are going to happen but when I spend weeks communicating every little detail and even more weeks creating a binder that was detailed to the T, this should never have happened.
The cherry on top of everything is learning management at The Gage was joking and talking poorly about the disorganization of the day to our florist. Insane behavior. On the positive, catering and bar service was fabulous. Everything else though, not worth it.
