I had done DIY Flowerman several times as a bridesmaid and was so excited to finally experience it as a bride. Unfortunately, my experience was incredibly frustrating and disappoin...ting.
During our meetings, I was very clear about the colors I wanted and provided multiple inspo pics, which were also included on my quote. I specifically requested white and pink hydrangeas. When I arrived, I was shocked to find that the hydrangeas that were supposed to be pink were literally LIGHT GREEN. Not even a slightly different shade of pink or an attempt at making them pink - they looked absolutely nothing like what I requested or the pics I provided.
I understand that exact flower colors cannot always be guaranteed, but this felt like there was no attempt made to provide pink hydrangeas at all. Hydrangeas were in season at the time of my wedding, and I was seeing pink ones in full bloom all around town. As someone who grows hydrangeas myself, I know their color can be influenced and adjusted, which made the situation even more frustrating. They should’ve at least given me white hydrangeas, not GREEN.
I also paid extra to have the design team create my bridal bouquet, and unfortunately, I was very unhappy with it as well. My inspo photo showed balls of hydrangeas separated by baby’s breath, but there was hardly any baby’s breath in my bouquet at all. It looked nothing like the design I had requested. I wish i had a picture of it but i was too stunned by how bad it looked and started to cry
Thankfully, the team working that day was incredibly kind and willing to fix the situation. They took the green hydrangeas into the back and spray-painted them pink. While I appreciated their effort, it was frustrating that this had to be the solution in the first place. They only had blush and raspberry pink spray, even though I had requested a light bubblegum pink - what flower place doesn’t have every color spray??? One employee kept trying and was eventually able to get them somewhat closer to what I envisioned, which I truly appreciated.
However, this meant we had to spend much longer there than planned, waiting while my wedding flowers were fixed. It added unnecessary stress and was an awful way to kick off my wedding weekend.
Thankfully, the team was able to get the flowers closer to what I wanted, and my bridesmaids did an amazing job arranging everything and making the tables look beautiful. I am grateful to the employees who worked hard to fix the situation, but overall, this never should’ve been a stressful situation in the first place. Absolutely absurd that I was given green flowers. I can’t be the first bride who has asked for light pink flowers before.
First bouquet pics were inspo. 3rd pic is the hydrangeas after they sprayed them pink once we asked. You can see the green underneath - none of that pink was there when we arrived, only straight green
