We were happy with The Driskill (absolutely gives that old Austin/Texas vibe), but mainly want to highlight Paige, who was wonderful to work with, and made our wedding dreams come true, including helping us to create an off-the-menu Hugo Spritz (my favorite)! Thank you very much!

I got married here in August and cannot recommend it enough to brides. A+ aesthetic, A+ convenience, A+ location, A+ service, A+ food, A+ guest experience. Our guests truly had a blast staying on site and loved being so close to everything in Austin. The Driskill has its own wedding manager who does a ton of heavy lifting. Lily signed our contract and then got a transfer to another Hyatt, so we had Paige for most of the process. Both were wonderful. Paige is on top of it, kind, accommodating, and unpretentious. Truly worth her weight in gold, as she’s running interference between bride/family/the Driskill’s different departments. The Driskill let me use whatever vendors I wanted, which was nice, although they really want your personal wedding coordinator to be someone on their approved list. (Go with Amina Garrison, the Wedding Day Girl! She’s done a ton of Driskill weddings, and you’re going to want someone like her with knowledge. She had really good insights on what decor would and wouldn’t look good in the space. I trusted her, and she was right!) A few bonus perks about getting married at the Driskill: My husband and I spent a lot of time at the Driskill leading up to our wedding, and we always got special treatment when we were there, which was really nice. Having the whole mezzanine and the adjacent suites weekend weekend is a HUGE perk. And the best kept secret is that the Driskill is a Hyatt property, so we got 150,000 Hyatt points, which paid for half our honeymoon at a resort that would have been $3K/night. As for the wedding itself, we had 230 people on the mezzanine, and the mosaic “D” was our dance floor, with the band set up in front of the Driskill ballroom (hire Danny Ray and the Atlantic Street Band while you’re at it). We LOVED this setup, as it felt really intimate with everything in the same room. We used the Driskill ballroom only for cocktail hour, and that was perfect. We had the side rooms open for people who wanted a more quiet space. We tried our best to use what the Driskill provided, and I really think it was perfect. All we rented were chairs, a stage facade, and long tables for the mezzanine so I could have the dinner party aesthetic I wanted. But we used the Driskill’s round tables, cocktail tables, votive candles, table cloths, bars, and table settings/linens, and I’m so glad we didn’t waste money renting those things when the Driskill already has beautiful stuff. (I would say if there’s one thing you should rent, it’s chairs. Loot’s natural bentwood chairs looked beautiful in the space.) The food was divine, and we opted for the 3-course plated dinner with grand marnier crème brûlée for dessert—this was a crowd favorite. Food service took a really long time and the dance party started pretty late, but I partially blame myself, because we had poor indicators on the table so it was hard for the staff to know what people ordered. Just talk to Paige about the best system for dinner service—I’m sure she’ll know where we went wrong. But it really didn’t matter, because no one went hungry, and it was more time to enjoy the beautiful setting! I always said I would never have a hotel wedding, and in fact, I had planned an outdoor tented reception in Hill Country, when I came to my senses about tx weather in august. But the Driskill has more charm and intrigue than any other hotel—or wedding venue for that matter. I’m eternally grateful we switched. Thank you, Driskill team, for our dream wedding!
