Working with Jill Hare and Kristle Redic was an absolute pleasure from beginning to end. Their professionalism, responsiveness, attention to detail, and genuine care gave us complete confidence throughout the planning process. No question went unanswered, no detail was overlooked, and every interaction made us feel like our wedding was just as important to them as it was to us.
Of course, every bride hopes for perfect weather, and unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans. While we were disappointed that we couldn't have the outdoor ceremony we had envisioned, Jill, Kristle, and the entire Drake team immediately sprang into action. What could have been a stressful situation became a seamless transition thanks to their experience, creativity, and incredible teamwork.
The indoor space they created was absolutely breathtaking. They transformed it with such care and elegance that it truly felt like the wedding of our dreams. Guests repeatedly commented on how beautiful everything was and how smoothly the entire event flowed.
From the moment guests walked through the doors until the last dance of the evening, everything was flawless. The service was exceptional, the staff was attentive, the food was spectacular, and every detail was executed perfectly.
As the mother of the bride, one of the greatest gifts they gave me was peace of mind. I was able to stop worrying about logistics and simply be present, soaking in every moment of one of the most important days of my daughter's life.
If you are considering The Drake Oak Brook for your wedding or special event, do not hesitate. The venue is beautiful, but the people are what make it truly extraordinary. We will forever be grateful to Jill, Kristle, and the entire Drake team for helping create memories our family will cherish for a lifetime.

ent that wasn't a typical Western wedding. We were able to bring in our own caterer for the Indian food, which many other venues I'd visited took a hard line against that. The grounds are so beautiful, but it was the service of the staff that made everything perfect. Every wedding has bumps along the way, and ours certainly did, but the team at the Drake handled everything so effectively that no one could tell there had even been an issue in the first place!

If I couldnt get what I was trying to say over email, she was a quick phone call away. The first time we were talking she told me " I will not tell you do something that I wouldnt do personally' And from that moment I knew were in good hands. It is so easy in the wedding industry to be taken advantage of, and I truly felt like Melissa was our friend. Through the whole experience everything was seamless, and when rain was showing on our wedding day and Melissa and Anna (banquet/catering manager- who is absolutely amazing) did everything in their power to wait until the last minute to make the call. While it is unfortunate we had to move our ceremony inside, we picked the Drake because the rain plan was just as beautiful. I wouldn’t change anything about the day. They flipped our ceremony into our cocktail hour in 10 minutes flat. Everyone loved and still raves about the food. The steak, truly melts in your mouth. Wine glasses were never empty, and our plates were quickly cleared for the next course. They even moved our. head table after the dinner, to make a bigger dancefloor, and I still to this day never even saw them move it, that is how quick they were! A glass was dropped and before anyone could get someone to clean it, someone came out and had a mop and broom to clear it. They knew what we needed it, before we even knew we needed it. The Drake truly goes above and beyond, and I would recommend them to everyone. I am so bummed the day is over, but I have 0 regrets with choosing them to be our wedding venue.

ou could tell they cared about making our day special for us. Our Catering Manager, Melissa Smith, was exceptionally helpful in helping us bring our vision to life and was so wonderful to work with.
The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and contributed immensely to our photos! There are so many locations throughout the hotel and grounds that were great for photo ops. We had our ceremony in the Flower Room and reception in the Three Oaks Ballroom with access to the Veranda. We were so fortunate that the weather was nice, which allowed our guests to flow throughout the connected spaces and sit outside by the fire tables.
We had several guests rave about how excellent the food was too, from the hors d'oeuvres to the dinner. The staff was also very accommodating to our guests that have dietary restrictions.
Overall, we were so happy with the venue and would choose it again.

you will have plenty of space to eat, dance, have cocktails, and other extras like a photobooth, etc. The food was amazing and as someone with a food allergy, I was very, very happy with how seriously they took my request our guest allergies during the tastings and during the actual event. Karla and Anna were great to work with and they care about guests having the event go according to the customizations requested. The wait staff is all very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a suburban location to host your reception!

n, Melissa Smith. She immediately made us feel so comfortable in what can be a very overwhelming process. Throughout the year she was checking up on us, answering any and all questions (both our good and dumb ones), and making us feel confident that our day would go exactly how we'd want it to. We were very impressed with her professionalism as we could tell she has clocked a lot of hours in this industry. It was easy to tell that she takes her job very seriously and takes pride in providing the best experience for her people. One of the number one compliments we heard from our guests after our wedding was how sharp the staff was at The Drake. This didn't surprise us at all as we got a taste of this at our wedding tasting earlier in the year. We're thrilled that something that we put so much love and care into felt so reciprocated and then some. Even though we experienced rain on our wedding day that resulted in us having to move our ceremony inside, this venue's interior is just as beautiful as its exterior so it all worked out in the end.

e in planning the perfect wedding was professionally and caring. They presented three packages we chose the Champagne package which was perfect for our 136 guests.
The selection of Hor d’ oeuvres, soups, salads, and entrees were outstanding.
We also had a phenomenal sweet table and late evening snacks as part of the package.
The service by the wait staff and bartenders was absolutely first class. The attention to detail by set up team and support staff could not have been better. If we had questions or concerns up to and including the wedding day, they had people available to address them immediately.

The venue exceeded our expectations as the Three Oaks Room, Flower Room, Veranda, and Grand Ballroom were all utilized to accommodate our large wedding. The space was elegant, clean, and first-class.
The food and beverages were excellent. Many of our guests commented about the quality of the food. The service was exceptional and the staff worked diligently to stay within our dinner timeline.
The hotel staff made the check-in process seamless for our guests. The bellman was helpful in loading our belongings for the wedding into the space before the event. Overall, the entire staff at The Drake Oak Brook were phenomenal.
The banquet coordinator on site during the day of our wedding was exceptional. She was helpful, polite, and polished. She made our guests feel welcome from start to finish. We felt like we were her priority and she did everything in her power to make our wedding dreams come true.
Overall, we would highly recommend hosting your wedding at The Drake Oak Brook. The event space, staff, food and beverage, hotel accommodations, etc. were second to none. We received positive feedback from our wedding guests regarding The Drake Oak Brook and are so thankful we chose this venue for our wedding day.

I cannot thank them enough for helping me through this process that turned out beyond expectations for us and all our guest. All our guest were raving about our event and The Drake made this happen.

dding venue that could be a one stop event. We had many friends and family come in from out of town and we knew we didn't want people jumping from place to place for the events. Once we found The Drake, we knew it was perfect. Unlike nearby venues, it was smaller, but also had private spaces to not feel as if we were all on top of each other. Our older family members did not have to walk far to get anywhere. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception all on the grounds. We shut the bar down almost every night!
Outside of the venue being near perfect, it was Karla and the hotel staff that really helped make the decision easy for us. From the initial email that Karla sent when I requested a quote, to meeting her in person, and throughout the entire process - I cannot say enough good things about her, Fabiola, and Anna. There were many times I would even call Karla to vent or to pick her mind on suggestions and advice and she was phenomenal.
Even when the weather did not cooperate with our hopes, the wedding was still a hit and so beautiful. I kept telling the staff and Karla how they flat out spoiled us and made us feel special. From the bartenders, the front desk staff, the banquet team (and Enrique!) - they treated us like family.
We would do it all again in a heartbeat and would not change a THING about our wedding and this venue!!

Everything about it was amazing. We had both the room and the outdoor space for our cocktail hour and after dinner. It was really nice to have the outdoor space for the whole event. Everyone loved the food and the service was great.
We also had many people staying at the hotel. The rooms have been redone and are very nice. Everyone who stayed there was very complementary of the hotel. The suite that they gave the us to get ready was perfect.
We also had a post wedding breakfast buffet for our family and guests that stayed at the hotel the next morning. Everything was wonderful. Again, people commented on how good the food and service were.
They made our day special and very easy for the bride and groom to host.

The food at the wedding was AMAZING!! Everyone is still talking about it. My husband and I also ate at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and we were blown away with the food. We had a waitress the night before the wedding, we talked to her for over a half an hour and we ended our meal with hugs, she was the sweetest. Our hotel room was also beautiful, we were gifted champagne and a fruit and cheese tray as well. If I had to plan another wedding, I would hands down choose the Drake Oak Brook. onstruction rooms. The hotel was at the time renovating its guest rooms to become part of the Marriott Autograph hotel collection. Let me tell you, it's tough to believe a sales person when she walks you through dusty hallways to one complete, albeit beautiful, room and says, "Don't worry it'll be done by next summer."
We researched countless additional venues and visited about six and nothing held a candle to the vibe, service and overall aesthetic of The Drake. So we really put our faith in the construction being done.
The little touches are what really make this place wonderful. We had champagne with Gina when we signed our contract, our menu tasting with Michael was not only delicious, but also incredibly fun and the communication was clear and organized.
When we decided to postpone our wedding an entire year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team made sure our date was available and kept us abreast of the changing event landscape so that we could plan accordingly. And guess what... the construction was beyond done by that point and The Drake is looking as beautiful as ever.
Our wedding week was seamless. Michael arranged a time for us to drop off all of our decor two days before our event and stored everything in a safe place. Upon arrival at the venue the day of our wedding, Michael greeted us, said hello to our parents and delivered a plate of happy hour appetizers to the bridal party. The room looked impeccable and the evening could not have been more perfect. It really was the wedding of our dreams.
Guests complimented us on the ambiance of the venue, the food and the accommodations. If we had to choose two things to improve upon, they'd be the room reservation system and the delivery of welcome bags for our guests. When booking rooms, guests needed to book through the Marriot system which was a bit unforgiving. There were a few instances where we were booking rooms on behalf of our guests or trying to work with Michael to acquire certain rooms we needed (which is out of his team's control). Additionally, we took the time to pack welcome bags for each of our guests staying at the hotel, but unfortunately less than half of our guests received them because they were not handed out at check-in.
Overall, this place is a gem and we plan to celebrate our anniversary here every year. Michael and Gina are an incredible team and our experience was extremely positive and memorable. We'd work with this team to plan another event in a heartbeat.

made the whole process smooth and seamless. Here are some of the highlights of our experience.
1. Incredible Staff: Every person involved in the process was extremely attentive. Michael Dubina has a gift for planning and execution. He has a great eye for detail. The banquet captain, Niri, did an amazing job of keeping the staff on task and the wedding on schedule. He was readily available in case we had any questions or last minute requests. Finally, the servers provided quality service to our guests. They were there from start to finish. At the end of the night, they so kindly collected all the forgotten items and helped us get everything packed. Then less than 6 hours later, some returned to help with our brunch in the morning.
2. Great Food: A big kudos to the chefs. The food was DELICIOUS and left guests satisfied. Guests are still talking about the entrees and how they loved the late night snack of tacos.
3. Nice Location: 250 guests at 10 to a table fit very comfortably inside the Grand Ballroom. Access to the cocktail room and hotel bar gave a spacious feel to event. Parking was plentiful.
4. Decor: The chiavari chairs and chargers really took the decor to the next level.

To make things even more stressful, my husband and I planned our reception from out of state. Michael Dubina helped make things easier on us. He always responded to our concerns in a timely manner and provided helpful advice throughout the entire planning process. The food tasting was so much fun! Michael always cracked the best jokes and made us laugh the entire time.
On the day of the wedding, Michael Dubina and the staff at the Drake Oakbrook did an excellent job coordinating the event. All of our guests absolutely loved the cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and food! We received SO many compliments. Our guests are still talking about our wedding! The light up dance floor was absolutely gorgeous ! I also want to mention that all of my guests absolutely enjoyed staying at the hotel!
Overall our experience with hosting our reception at the Drake Oakbrook was AMAZING. My husband and I will truly miss laughing with Michael Dubina.
The only feedback I want to provide is that we paid for top shelf and towards the end of the event my husband noticed that the bartenders were serving different liquor. We did bring this to the attention of the Drake Oakbrook.
