Having the museum for our ceremony and reception was a dream! Our guests got to enjoy the Dinosphere for cocktail hour and the carousel during the reception! Definitely a wedding t...
o remember! Melissa was also amazing! She stuck with us for 3 years after we postponed our 2020 wedding, and was incredibly helpful in the days leading up to and on the day of the wedding! Only complaint was that the Levy catering staff started dismantling the reception tables before our last private dance was even finished, which kind of ruined the moment. Our guests belongings were still on the tables! And they really rushed us out even though we had an hour of cleanup so we ended up losing a couple decorations in the confusion. Despite this though I would recommend, just be careful at the end!
If you're looking for a wedding venue that is unique but not tacky and memorable but not totally over the top, I highly recommend the Children's Museum of Indianapolis. It seems th...
at many people don't know that Children's Museum is a fantastic wedding reception venue with a talented event staff, fantastic caterer, and comparable price to other venues in downtown Indy. Reasons we loved the Museum: 1. You have a selection of any two exhibits to use during your event. We had our cocktail hour in the Dinosphere - so cool. 2. Catering is available through the Museum and there are a ton of great options and the ability to customize. 3. Free and convenient parking, tons of space, and if you're there during a certain time, you and your guests can use a slide to travel from level 2 to 1. My contacts there, Courtney Colbert (event planning) and Ann Hanson (catering) were both responsive, professional, and supportive even during my nearly-bridezilla moments. Our guests had an AMAZING time, and I'm confident that is nearly all thanks to our venue selection.
We were very excited to choose the Indianapolis Children’s Museum for our wedding, but disorganization and communication disappointments along the way made us shy away from this as...
a venue. First, the person we made an appointment with apparently did not take the information down and our appointment would have been lost if not for a bridal show we attended. Then the appointment to view the venue was with the catering department, not the event coordinators. We never received a contract, despite asking twice. Finally, the last straw was when, after being in communications for over a week, they informed us that the date we wanted the venue may not actually be available after all. Why wasn’t this told to us from the beginning?
We’re very disappointed that it didn’t work out, but the miscommunication and seeming lack of organization within the teams at the venue created unease in us that would have never allowed us to be comfortable. Hopefully they work it out soon, but beware in the meantime.
A few snags in communication along the way, but in the end the event was wonderful. I had my reception at the Children's Museum and they took care of all sorts of details (champagn...
e flutes, moving the card table from downstairs to upstairs after cocktail hour, etc.) and even fixed the cake we brought in when it got messed up in our car! I never even realized there had been a problem with the cake. They did a great job!
Very unique venue and in a wonderful location! The manor was perfect for our small number of guests and we didn’t need many decorations due to the rich atmosphere already provided....
Taking pictures in some of the exhibits was a big hit!!
Beautiful venue! We had a wonderful experience with the staff and coordinators. It was a lovely day and we are glad we chose this venue.
The Manor at the Children's Museum was a fantastic for our wedding. Everyone was very helpful and supportive both throughout the planning process and during the event
The Children's Museum was not only the perfect venue for us, but the staff was so incredibly helpful throughout the planning process and they were as excited for our big day as we ...
were.
The ceremony and reception went off without a hitch, the food was delicious and all our guests had an amazing time. We would absolutely recommend this venue to other couples.
