We had the BEST experience with the Blue Heron! Debbie is exceptionally professional and always on top of everything. They always responded promptly and accurately, no matter what our questions were or how silly they might’ve been. We planned our wedding almost completely remotely and only visited the venue one time, and it was still so incredibly painless. No unexpected charges, no unreasonable fees, and they setup and teardown all the decor for us (except for the pergola, which was easy enough to do ourselves). We were even expecting a massive storm and they still prepared everything for both the indoor and outdoor ceremony options so that it would be easy to shift if the weather changed, and fortunately we were able to have it outside! The location is beautiful, the food is excellent, they are so easy to work with, and they give you so much power over how you want your day. A lot of venues we talked to were very restrictive, but the Blue Heron was always willing to work with us to achieve our vision. I cannot recommend them enough.

g process both Debbie and Alexa we extremely communicative and helpful getting everything completed. They are super up front with a good timeline to follow for the planning process and very quick to respond with any answers to questions or updated requests. Not only were they super appreciated during the planning of our wedding, but the day of and for the rehearsal they knocked everything out of the park. For the rehearsal, Alexa was there to help us get everything in order as well as bring in all of our decor and extra stuff for the wedding. For our day of both her and Debbie were there for anything we needed, whether that be a glass of water, tissue, or if the bride forgot her bouquet before walking down the aisle, they were there to run inside and grab it. There was also a third team member (apologies i cannot remember her name) but she was there throughout the day and to through the end of the night to help pack everything back up for us to grab in the morning. The bartenders and Chefs also made the day excellent, we had raving reviews on how amazing the food was and how quick and delightful the specialty drinks came out. I cannot express how thankful we are for the Blue Heron and the team who helped make our wedding day perfect!

communication leading up to the wedding left a lot to be desired. One of our biggest frustrations was the lack of clarity around what was actually included in our package. During our tour, we were told that certain things, including a display and a champagne tower, were included. I also had a pamphlet listing the pricing and those inclusions. However, when we asked about them later, we were told they were not included because they were not listed in our contract. Despite showing what had been advertised, the response was doubled down on rather than an effort to resolve the discrepancy. We were ultimately surprised with a champagne tower on the wedding day, which made us a little happier, but we are still frustrated and confused at the conflicting communication. We also were never entirely sure which event planner would be present on our wedding day, which added unnecessary uncertainty during a time when we wanted to feel confident that everything was being handled. Additionally, some meals for guests with dietary restrictions were incorrect, which was especially disappointing because those details are important to get right. Overall, the venue is beautiful, but the disorganization, inconsistent communication, and mistakes with guest meals took away from the experience. For the price and the importance of a wedding day, I expected more consistency and attention to detail. I would recommend making sure every promised inclusion is explicitly documented in the contract and confirming all dietary requirements well in advance.

r planning purposes and she was always very detail oriented, helpful, and responsive. She ran our meetings in a way that was very helpful to me and assisted in final details planning which was the most stressful part of the planning process. We had both our rehearsal dinner and wedding completely on site and the staff was wonderful and professional and the food was excellent. We received many compliments on the food for both the rehearsal and the reception. They provided tickets for the Friday night summer concert to everyone that attended the rehearsal and it was a perfect way to kick off the weekend festivities. The coordinators at the venue were able to link up with all of my vendors and the wedding day itself went off without any issue. We dropped off all the decor items the night before and they decorated the reception space absolutely beautifully! I did not have to do a single thing or answer any questions on our wedding day. They took care of everything! We got nothing but compliments about the venue, the staff, and the food. They helped us have a weekend we will never forget!

Their team did majority of both set-up & tear-down, and we were completely blown away by the amount of effort put into both. They really went above and beyond to ensure a smooth evening & as a DIY bride, I was impressed with the amount of care & concern before, during, and after to ensure my vision came to life. Everyone was so kind and they were also very accommodating with the food menu. The food was fantastic- the chef & team did a fantastic job! We still hear from guests how great the meal was & how beautiful the event space is. Truly couldn't have asked for a better overall experience, I would highly recommend a meeting! Let me start with saying, my day went great but I feel like it was only because I had stayed on top of my tasks. To start, when we toured, we practically signed the same day our o...

riginal contract. We signed for the Heron room, and yes this is important to know. Some time goes by and we schedule our next meeting which is our tasting for the reception food. We arrive but we are not greeted by the wedding coordinating staff, so we’re left wondering if we’re in the right area. A nice lady on the janitorial staff helped us essentially flag down Debbie who wasn’t warm or friendly upon meeting her. We sit down in the giant ballroom side of the venue, do our tasting and when we ask to tour our reception area, she says we’re in it. This was our first concern/red flag. We told her no we signed a contract for the Heron room and I pulled up my digital contract that I thankfully saved when we originally toured/signed for. She then says let me check and see if the room is available. Excuse me?? It should be because WE were the ones who signed a contract and PAID a deposit for, not for the bigger room because we had a smaller wedding. Thankfully it was available and made sure we got a new contract to have with the old one. Then we got to our final details meeting and another issue once again, we were told that we were doing double protein for the dinner by a different wedding coordinator that works with Debbie. We had to clarify that we wanted choice because we had people that had eating restrictions and already had people choose their meals. They would also ask my MIL questions about the wedding because she was hosting the rehearsal brunch, which they had to keep adjusting the time on her for because of other events even though she had it booked for a while as well, and ask me question about the rehearsal and not the wedding. Day of the wedding, barely saw Debbie or any coordinator even though they assured us they would be there the whole time. Even though they made it right, they also forgot to feed me, the bride, until my husband went up to the bar to tell them I didn’t get my food. There was just lack of communication all around and we didn’t feel like we were taken care of all that well.

ially grateful to Debbie, who helped keep everything on schedule and made sure the day moved along smoothly. One thing we really appreciated throughout the planning process was the communication. Debbie and Bethany were both responsive and easy to work with leading up to the big day. It helped ease a lot of stress and made us feel confident in how things were coming together. Our guests raved about the food and the overall atmosphere, it was exactly the warm, inviting celebration we had hoped for, and we received so many kind compliments afterward. However, we did experience some frustrations with the way our decor was handled and set up. Despite providing detailed instructions and reference photos, several areas were not arranged as we had planned. This was disappointing, especially after putting so much time and thought into those details. After the event, we also discovered that our personal decor items had not been packed with care, glass pieces were tossed loosely into boxes, resulting in breakage. Vases were still filled with water and some even contained live flowers, making cleanup more difficult than it should have been. We understand and respect that the venue expects guests and vendors to treat their property with care, which we absolutely did, but it felt like that same level of consideration wasn’t extended to our belongings. Overall, the venue is beautiful and offers a memorable setting, but if you're someone who is very detail-oriented or particular about how things are executed, this may not be the right fit without very close oversight.

was a beautiful touch, timed perfectly to start as we shared our first kiss as husband and wife. The grounds were generally well-maintained, creating a truly magical atmosphere. However, we were disappointed that two dead bushes were left at the entrance to the aisle. Despite assurances that the landscapers would address this (on the day before our wedding), on the morning of the wedding, my mother was asked to cut them down herself, which was unacceptable. The Grand Ballroom was an excellent choice for our reception. The space was elegant and spacious, and the staff, particularly the servers and bartenders, were phenomenal. They were attentive, friendly, and ensured our guests felt well-cared for throughout the night. The food was absolutely delicious; every dish was flavorful and expertly prepared. Our guests raved about the meal, and we extend our compliments to the talented chef and kitchen staff. While there were a few minor hiccups with the setup, the decorations were beautifully executed according to our detailed instructions. We were however disappointed with the venue's interaction with our florist. Despite being a preferred vendor, the florist reported to us that the staff were rude and unhelpful, which hindered the florist's ability to fully execute their vision. The bridal suite was spacious and helpful for our preparations, but the lack of electrical outlets near the vanity proved to be a slight inconvenience. Adding outlets in that area would be a helpful improvement for future brides. Overall, Blue Heron provided a beautiful setting for our wedding. However, the issues with the dead bushes and the unprofessional treatment of our florist detracted from our experience. With a few minor improvements and better communication with vendors, it has the potential to be an exceptional venue for any couple's special day.

Blue Heron is a well oiled machine when it comes to weddings so you can feel safe putting your trust in them. Our guests also RAVED about the food. We also ran into a small issue at the last hour of our wedding where 2 wedding crashers came into our reception. Once we informed them they were not invited guests security handled it quickly, so it didn't ruin a thing and now we have a funny story!

Communicating with both ladies was very easy, and they were quick to respond to any questions we had. Having children and a busy life, it was great that they reached out to remind us about meetings or deadlines approaching. I would love to give Blue Heron five stars because they are totally worth it, but we did have a meal mix up at the reception. When it was noticed, Francesca did everything in her power to fix it. She even offered the guests a different meal. It was very easy to see how the mix-up happened, but it was a rather large "oops" that affected about half of our guests. We were compensated for the error, and everything else about the wedding and reception was exceptional. The quality of the food was extremely high, as it is a wonderful restaurant that also happens to be a venue. The ladies did a fabulous job setting up the reception, and they made sure that we received everything that was left behind (as they also tear down so you can just leave). The value for the cost is based on the beautiful outside ceremony site, which is weather dependent. We almost needed to use the indoor fireplace site, which we would have been really bummed about. Even though it is beautiful, neither of us felt it was as worth the price as the outdoor site was. We felt the food quality and the outdoor site really made the value for Blue Heron. However, it is very nice that they have an indoor option in case of inclement weather.

The food was absolutely amazing, we went with the plated dinner option with appetizers and champagne. We had several guests comment on how good the apps and craft beer were as well. Bethany and Francesca helped us out from beginning to end with the planning, organizing, helping...it made the process so seamless. They organized the wait, bar and clean-up staff. All we had to do was schedule a time to pick up our things after the wedding and tip the staff for great service! Thank you Blue Heron for making our special day so perfect!

he food is beyond amazing! We got so many compliments about how good it was. They also work with you if there are any food allergies with guests or a special request from the bride or groom. We had our wedding on 12/3/22 so we didn't have the ceremony outside by the pond with the fountain but, since our guest list was family only (about 25 people), we were able to have it inside infront of the fireplace & it was beautiful. Overall, we had a great experience & would absolutely recommend having your wedding here!

Everyone we worked with from our start with them in 2019 to our finish in 2022 were knowledgable, friendly, accessible, helpful, and professional. Special shoutouts to their event coordinators Bethany and Francesca! Blue Heron is a well oiled machine that knows what they are doing when it comes to running and coordinating a wedding. Everything went so smoothly and my husband and I did not have a worry in the world when it came to the day of. Not to mention, their ceremony site is especially beautiful outside by the pond and pergola and their reception space in the grand ballroom is perfect for a large wedding! Finally, their food is INCREDIBLE! The amount of compliments we got on the food from our guests - the limit does not exist! People LOVED IT! (Shout out the short ribs and risotto). Some special things we loved were they offered their own beers on draft during the reception, everything is included such as tables/chairs/linens when booking with them, their staff sets up and tears down making for a stress free start and end to the wedding and reception, and their location is beautiful and perfect for wedding photos!! They were very easy to get in touch with throughout the entire process and worked so hard to make our day perfect. They also had a lot of great suggestions for our timeline and how to best decorate the venue! Speaking of the venue, I was truly taken aback by how beautiful it is! We took photos by in several areas around the pond, and the fountain made the perfect backdrop for our first kiss! The reception hall was large, elegant, and had more than enough space to accommodate all of our guests. Everyone we interacted with at Blue Heron were kind and professional as well. From the waitstaff that kept us full to the bartenders who kept the drinks flowing: your hard work did not go unnoticed! We were also taken aback by how amazing the food was and our guests still cannot stop raving about it to this day! I truly cannot say enough great things about Blue Heron. Their team worked with us through not one, but two Covid postponements and never once added to the mountain of anxiety and uncertainty we were facing. They helped us plan our small intimate wedding ceremony on July 11, 2020 (our original wedding date) as well as our big wedding day event on December 11, 2021. Both days turned out beautifully. For our December wedding date, we dropped off our decor on Friday morning and the team transformed the bits and pieces we gave them into a beautiful and thoughtfully planned out reception. Never in a million years could we have made their space look the way they did. Each member of the staff that had a hand in our wedding day was professional, understanding and accommodating. Every question, email, request or worry I may have had throughout our wedding planning process was quickly and mindfully managed by Khadar, Britney and Bethany with ease. We experienced a lot of ups and downs during our planning process due to Covid, but never once did we question our decision to hold our reception at the Blue Heron. We were willing to wait over 3 years (including postponements from the pandemic) to have our wedding at our dream venue and we don’t regret that decision at all. Thank you really isn’t a big enough way to express our appreciation for the team at The Blue Heron and how amazing they were to work with. 10/10 recommendation for any event you might be hosting.

us from the beginning was not transparent with pricing, or really anything. He literally wrote up five floor plans after asking him to correct it, and he could still not give us what we asked for. I am blown away by how he treats the people that pay him. Brides, seriously look into anywhere else. I cancelled my dream wedding because he has been that terrible to work with. I want to add that when I originally signed my contract, Mary Jane was their coordinator at the time and not Khadar. We would have never of signed a contract there if we had known he was taking over everything. Very disappointing. He will reply to this statement saying I could’ve had our wedding during the pandemic and risked peoples lives so they could be in business and make money... however I was very sick and hospitalized with cancer and other health issues in 2020, after letting him know this he still insisted we could have our wedding. Obviously this was a very ignorant and ableist statement and shows they have zero empathy and compassion for their couples what so ever. I also have a recording of him admitting he lied to us but will still not take responsibility for it. The most unprofessional vendor I’ve ever dealt with, if you want to avoid a nightmare during wedding planning then avoid this place at all costs.

It is disappointing to see a review like this in the midst of a pandemic WHILE we provided you numerous options to make your day special. For example, we offered you alternative venues with our sister company, we offered you an at home catering, we offered you dates down the road. You were given a courtesy while we we were rescheduling brides that had weddings for March, April, May & June that ALL had to reschedule indefinitely, all of those brides understood that the COVID-19 situation was out of our control and were gracious in the process, we are sorry you don't feel the same way. Your contract was updated after your tasting as are all contracts. You wanted a Head Table style that is not conducive for our space and our job as the venue is to let you know that. We host 6 weddings a weekend and never ran into this issue. We wish you the best in your future!

gorgeous! Khadar has been a pleasure to work with. It was hard planning a wedding during COVID (we legit booked this place early March 2020- RIGHT before things went bad), but K made it as stress-free as possible. The food was soooo good- we chose the executive BBQ (their brisket- AMAZING). The staff working the bar and general areas were SUPER attentive and made sure everyone had what they needed, especially bride and groom. I was asked so many times if I needed a drink or food by the floor staff- that really stuck out to me! Our guests have been raving about everything- the venue itself, wonderful staff, food, you name it.

Plus, it's reassuring to know you have the ability to make the decision to move the ceremony indoors due to inclement weather just hours before the ceremony (especially with the unpredictable Ohio fall weather)...Most places required at least a day's notice. Thankfully, despite the weather forecast, we were able to have the ceremony outdoors as planned. The lobby and reception hall were absolutely breathtaking... and the appetizer and dessert stations were beautifully displayed. And the FOOD... I can't say enough about the food...Everything was absolutely delicious and the plate presentation was perfection. Beautiful venue, outstandingly delicious food, yummy cocktails, and great service...what more could you ask for for your special day. I highly recommend Blue Heron!

He along with the BH staff, went above and beyond working with our other vendors to ensure seamless transitions throughout our busy day. It was a lot to pull off and they made it look effortless. Due to COVID, we like many others had to reschedule / postpone and reduce the number of guests at our wedding. Although we originally were not going to host our wedding at the Blue Heron, we ended up changing to their venue due to scheduling and availability. We could not be happier with the way it worked out! We held two ceremonies (Christian and Hindu), lunch, cocktail hour and dinner at Blue Heron. The venue has so many event space options that we were able to use multiple spaces throughout the day which gave incredible views for our guests. Khadar and Blue Heron Brewery and Event Center are the full package for all your wedding and event needs!

tdoor scenery beautiful with the area designated for a ceremony with a huge arch and fountain (great for bridal party pictures), but the inside is just as stunning with an amazing entrance followed by a ballroom with gorgeous chandeliers. Without even being decorated, we knew Blue Heron is where we wanted to have our reception and are so happy we did. Both Jen and K made everything so easy for us. They listened to what we wanted, asked questions, and literally took care of everything. It was so nice not worrying about setting up or taking the decorations down. The following morning all we had to do was pick up our decorations and it was all assembled nicely in the bridal suite, ready to go! We got married a week ago and I am amazed by the amount of texts and calls we have received (and are still receiving) complimenting how beautiful Blue Heron was and how it was the best wedding they have been to. We are so happy we had our reception here and cannot thank Jen and Khadar enough for making the best day of our lives so easy and perfect!
