The planning team is EXCELLENT! They are so thorough, work to understand and create a vision and give any input or ideas throughout the process. I had MANY questions, ideas, and was very specific about what I wanted and I could not have made my vision come to life without the planning team. They were always responsive and worked collaboratively with each other and with us. From decor to making sure the ceremony ran seamlessly, to cocktail hour, to mapping out the timing for the reception and everything in between- they had the answers! Everyone was so kind and approachable and easy to work with. Shannon was incredible and always kept me grounded when I felt stressed. She surprised me the day of the wedding and came by to see how everything turned out and that was extremely special. The food at the Barns was PHENOMENAL! We could not believe how far it exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend tacos and tequila and Eataly for cocktail hour stations. Having 10 passed horderves allowed for a fun variety! All night long, guests were telling us that this was the best wedding food they have ever experienced- and our guests have been to many, many weddings. The staff serving at the Barns were ridiculously kind and attentive (to the point that a guest asked me if I had personally picked the staff because of how amazing they were). They genuinely seemed to be having fun while serving guests, which made the whole experience even more fun and playful while still extremely professional. Mary, our day of coordinator could not have been more perfect if I had dreamed up exactly who I wanted to be there to support us the week of the wedding. She was organized, approachable, funny, and really understood what aspects mattered to us most as a couple. I am obsessed with her! I am literally crying while writing this review because I am so grateful for all of the staff at the Barns. We had some rain on our wedding day so we didn’t use the outside area for cocktail hour at all but instead they opened up the little barn for everyone so that there would be more space for people. Mary thought of everything before we could even ask. And the whole team was friendly and supportive leading up to the day! We are still hearing from friends and family about how great the food was at our wedding, particularly the Mac and cheese and cocktail hour apps, and about other special and thoughtful touches like packing up cupcakes for people to go and handing out waters at the end of the night. Choosing CT Wedding group and the Barns was the best decision we made!

t our process. When we toured The Barns, we were immediately hooked. Not just because of the beautiful space, but because of the amazing people involved. It is VERY clear that the people who work here love their work and treat your wedding just as special as you would. With customer service: I am an extremely, Type-A, over-thinker bride. I assumed I would be stressed and overwhelmed throughout the process. When I tell you, because of this venue and group, I felt little to no stress, it’s the truth! They are in constant communication with you and really are there to help along the way. They have a number you can text that really helps you along. Even if it was the smallest, silliest question, I never hesitated to reach out. They always answered with patience, grace and their expertise. When it came time for the rehearsal, and getting closer to the big day, we had the pleasure of working with Eddie as our event manager. As soon as we met with him, I just felt a huge weight off of my shoulders. When he said, “Don’t you even worry- I got it,” I knew he really, really did. When it came to decorating our guest book/ seating chart table, he worked his absolute magic on his own. It was one less thing I had to worry about and he just executed everything flawlessly. He really helped us enjoy our big day. From checking in on us throughout the day, to feeding and making sure we had drinks, to helping us pack up at the end of the night, we felt so cared for on the biggest day of our lives. The Barns may be a little pricey, but I felt as if every cent was worth it. We’ve had so many positive remarks from guests about the food, decor, and experience that it was absolutely worth it. The Barns was transformed into a magical, romantic setting with Eddies touch. The food was served flawlessly executed by the wait staff. Our guests walked away from the bar with high spirits (😉). The Barns had everything we ever could have wanted from the beautiful grounds with weeping willows, to the restaurant quality in house catering, the exceptional bar with tasty signature drinks, and of course, a beautiful rustic barn that was so perfect for the wedding that we were dreaming of. The “Day of” staff was as impressive as the rest. My husband and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Eddie, our day of coordinator was AMAZING!!! He even helped bustle my dress!! As someone who gets overwhelmed with a lot of tiny details and moving parts, the wedding planning team at The Barns was a dream come true. They handled EVERYTHING so I didn’t have to worry about it. They are knowledgeable, open, kind, and went above and beyond to make sure I had peace of mind. Every time I had a question, the response came back quickly and explained in a way that was easy to understand. By the time the big day was there, I was truly so at ease because the planning process had felt so calm and relaxed. We were able to just show up and enjoy our day, and know that we were in excellent hands. The space is so incredibly beautiful, and the food is OUTSTANDING. All of our guests raved about how our wedding had been the best one they had ever been to and it is not lost on us that it is all thanks to The Barns staff. Every single one of them routinely went above and beyond to ensure that our day went smoothly and was everything we could ever want.  I especially have to shout out our day of event manager, Dimitri. He was amazing and so much fun to work with. He took the time to understand all the things we wanted for our big day and made sure they all happened. We also appreciated that he ensured that we had quiet time to ourselves in such a whirlwind of a day, because those became the moments that stuck out the most. He stayed late to make sure everything had gotten put into vehicles to be taken home at the end of the night and truly was the driving force that made our day so spectacular. We could never thank him enough.

We personally had Sean as our event coordinator for the day, and my wedding party, family and attendees all recognized how on top of his game he was. He made our day a breeze. I didn’t have to think about anything. We truly lived in the moment, and because of him, our day was magical. We also love that the venue offered a military discount of a milk&cookies station for our day, and were truly grateful to book at a venue that supports military. The entire day was prompt, enjoyable, and organized. The food was great, service was top notch, guests mentioned they loved how everyone at each table was fed simultaneously. Truly impressive waitstaff. The execution of our decor was exactly our vision, again thanks to Sean for your attention to detail.  A few things that did steer us from a full 5 stars– A confetti cannon was offered to us in our wedding package, we had penciled it in to our day of schedule when reviewing fine details and unfortunately it was never set off. We really wanted the photos with the confetti like we saw online. With how busy the day was we didn’t have a chance to configure a “plan b” route as to how it would be incorporated so we missed out on that.  - The documents towards the final date were not big enough to write in everything we needed and were truly difficult to read/maneuver. Simpler “user friendly” verbiage for guests who are not in the industry should be considered, and larger text boxes would be helpful. We essentially had to redo them morning of because we couldn’t fit all the info.  -Not really the venues fault, but the bakery we utilized did not reflect the cake we wanted. We had shown pictures of the cake at our tasting and when I saw our cake I was honestly embarrassed. They emailed us the day before our wedding to ask what we wanted but hadn’t checked our email as it was obviously a busy day, traveling, rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, etc., so our cake was ugly. Due to contract we had to utilize this bakery.  -The venue does not provide any lighting for reception. The additional $1500 for string lights to be provided, that are not removed ever, seems a bit outrageous. Why that isn’t factored in to the overall cost rather than listed as an “add on” just put a sour taste in our mouths. I find it very silly to not offer lighting of any kind, especially for something that never comes off the ceiling. Add on lights, totally understandable. But overhead lighting, just factor it in? We were gifted additional lighting day of which was a plus.  -Receiving an email 2 weeks before wedding day about potential cancellation felt a bit harsh. The last 6 months of communicating felt more transactional than heartfelt. I can’t imagine what people with “cold feet” or potential pre-marital issues feel when they read an email mentioning potential cancellation.  Overall, our wedding was beautiful, the staff is more than kind, the bar service is timely, efficient, and overall a beautiful look.  The Mac and cheese bar was a hit– everyone’s FAV part. The food is what sealed our deal. We love the Barns, we loved our day, and still are on cloud nine. Thank you everyone at the Barns for making our day unforgettable.
