About this vendor
Based in Detroit, MI, Terri’s Cakes Detroit is a cake shop specializing in bespoke cakes and desserts. Founded in the mid 70's by mother-Terri, now owned by daughter-Garnet, the bakery is a dream come true for these passionate cake designers and visionaries. Boasting over 40 years of experience mixing and making beautiful wedding cakes, the duo continuously strives for high-quality results.
Initially operating from their home kitchen, Terri was creative and prolific in her baking, from family events to catering for friends. Garnet learned everything by Terri’s side, and when a serendipitous opportunity arose to manage a large request alone, she discovered their family business’s true potential. Now, the pair manage a team of bakers and cake designers, producing wonderful designs for couples throughout Detroit.
Terri’s Cakes Detroit offers customized cakes and sweet treats for weddings and special occasions. You can tailor your wedding cake with a variety of cake flavors and frosting colors or opt for something unique like cheesecake and cupcake displays.

I used Terri's Cakes for my October wedding and cannot recommend them enough for their desserts and as vendors.
First, the desserts. I'm not a huge cake person (sorry!) but Terri'...
s Cakes know what they're doing and they do it WELL. The flavor options are all amazing, I actually can't pick a favorite of what we tried. The cakes are moist and the frosting isn't overly sugary and sweet.
For our wedding, we ordered a 3-tiered cake that could feed all of our guests, as well as the cake jars for people to take home as a favor. Terri's cakes also offered to customize the jars for us with stickers of whatever we wanted - we chose our dog and it was such a cute, small detail that a lot of guests loved.
Second, the customer service. This is a family owned business and they will treat you like family as well. The woman we did our consultations with was so helpful, fun and nice. She explained all of our options to us clearly and made sure we were happy with what we were getting.
We had a number of guests with nut and gluten allergies, and we were assured their bakery takes these issues very seriously. We felt comfortable serving these products to our friends and family with dietary restrictions.
As a bonus - we get a complementary dessert for our one year anniversary so we didn't have to worry about freezing part of our cake! I'm already excited to see them next year.
I used Terri's Cakes Detroit for our cutting cake at the ceremony, and it was perfect! The process was so easy with their online ordering, and I was worry-free as they offered to d...
eliver the cake right to my venue the morning of the wedding. Our order included the cutting cake, a cake stand, and a custom topper which was perfect for what we were looking for. The cake was delicious too! I definitely recommend!
