Terra Mia is a venue that ONLY works when it doesn't rain. It unfortunately rained on our wedding day, but the rain wasn't even the biggest problem — it was the venue itself not ha...ving a good rain plain, or even being upfront about what one would need to do to make it passable. When the owner showed us the venue the first time, we asked about a rain plan and he said there was a tent that fits perfectly at Terra Mia. We should have done more research, because what he meant was a rental place in town had a tent that could work. That said, it actually is smaller than the reception area, so we had to adjust our tables, get rid of our band's stage and at one point was told we couldn't even fit a dance floor. That said, even having a tent was not enough to protect from the elements. There would have needed to be *multiple* tents, heaters and umbrellas to make a rain wedding at this outdoor venue feasible. Our guests had a great time because they were INTENT on it, and being mostly comedians and entertainers, were able to make lemonade from rain water. If there is any part of you that is nervous about an outdoor venue, this is not the one to go with. There is no other options provided by Terra Mia, and since it's clay, it's SO dirty in the rain. My younger brother actually got them to put hay down in front of all the entrances into the tent and the bar and bathrooms. (That should have been down as a no brainer). The dance floor was a HAZARD until that happened. TM says there is a covered area -- what they mean is they have a barrel room, which is not an area that many guests can fit into at once. You can't adjust your wedding to be in there instead of outdoors. Also, when we had our wedding, one of the mens room toilets was broken, and no one told me, not the venue, not any of the staff. I was just informed of this by a guest 6 weeks after our wedding, as no one wanted to tell the bride (thank you) day of. Also, their venue manager -- not a bad person, but truly not equipped to handle a large wedding. She cried to me during our wedding, and a guest told me she popped a Xanax mid-way through. Also, don't hire her to be your Wedding Coordinator/Planner, because what you get is someone that doesn't quite know how to handle that, and then they are also spread thin "venue managing." Don't get me wrong, the venue itself is very beautiful. On a perfect day with a different planner/manager, and probably only 100 guests, it could have been great. However, the on-site amenities are null. And the bridal suite is tired -- the shower doesn't work normally. I actually had to call the night before to figure out. The venue is definitely not worth almost $13k. And Karly as coordinator definitely not worth $3700 (on a discount because she worked for the venue). Even if it hadn't rained, I feel confident that Karly was not equipped to handle a large wedding and Terra Mia is not equipped to host a large wedding. I give it 2 stars because the venue is pretty, but I really want to give 1 star. Since the wedding, not one person from the venue has reached out to ask for feedback. To say we were disappointed in Terra Mia is an understatement.
