St. John’s County Hairstylist

ecute the hairstyle I envisioned for my wedding. She even helped my mom and mother-in-law with their hair as well and did great (as they loved her work too!). Throughout the planning process, she was the most prompt in responding to my inquiries, which made things so much easier. I highly recommend her—she’s professional, easy to talk to, and incredibly skilled.

was one of my favorite vendors.

help. They are both extremely kind, patient, and beyond talented. I would definitely use them again for any future special events and recommend their services to anyone in the Hudson Valley. A phenomenal duo that you will want by your side for your special occasion!

icularly to those who were not familiar with getting their hair and makeup done. Highly recommend for your upstate NY wedding - thank you, ladies!

g to worry if my hair-or the bridesmaids/Mother in law/ mother’s hair will look. Melissa single handedly did 8 styles (all different with very different hair textures and even extensions!) Melissa was interactive with us and made sure we were happy with our hair and that we got out in time for the wedding! I would recommend her to anyone looking for the best for their big day! Thank you, again, for your wonderful talent!

my concerns and created the absolute perfect look. Each bridesmaid looked absolutely fabulous and she is amazing at what she does. And I cannot put into words how grateful I am to Melissa for not only doing an incredible job on our hair, but doing so with no power for over two hours and literally using her own car to keep the curling irons going. My hair and makeup lasted the whole night. Picking Tiffany and Melissa was one of the best decisions I made. I cannot imagine anyone else doing my makeup and hair for my wedding. I would 100% recommend them to everyone

was in NY for my bridal shower for my trial. They knew exactly what I wanted and were so professional. The morning of the wedding they were punctual, set up and ready to go when we got to the venue. They worked like a well oiled machine together, while listening closely to the wants of all my girls and bringing their visions to life. All of my bridesmaids were impressed and had nothing but good things to say about both of them. Even my mom, who is extremely picky, was in love with her look. Would recommend these girls to anyone!

and fair pricing, and they were extremely professional from start to finish. I highly recommend their services!!

hey knew exactly what to do! On the day of the wedding they arrived on time and they even accommodated one of my vegan bridesmaids in regards to animal free products! My mom looked stunning and I am obsessed with my wedding pictures! Their professionalism is exclusive and they truly brought my vision to life! They even styled my dad’s hair last minute! I danced all night and my makeup and hair survived the night! I couldn’t have chosen a better glam team and I highly recommend these girls for all your glam needs!

n going to Melissa for years for my hair, so there was no question she was the right choice for me. Tiffany (makeup), I had met recently, and had a trial for my engagement shoot. It was the HOTTEST day of the year, and my makeup (and hair) lasted all day long until the evening shoot in 95 degree weather with 100% humidity. I also had Melissa and Tiffany do me up for my bridal shower - they are a tag team, and have been working together forever. On the day of my wedding, I had a tight schedule with hair/makeup before pictures where everyone had to be ready, and they both assured me that they’d work within the time they had. Needless to say the day of, all went smoothly! My bridesmaids we’re so happy with their looks the day of, one of them admitting that her hair that day may have been better than her own wedding day updo. Thank you both for putting me at ease, and making me feel like the most beautiful bride ever!

heat and lots of dancing! My bridesmaids loved their hair too! She helped keep my day running smooth and was a huge part in helping make it perfect!

I wanted and my hair stayed perfect throughout the day. If you are looking for a great hair stylist, do not look any further and go with Melissa. She is amazing at what she does!

want the “typical” wedding look. All my bridesmaids LOVED their hair and makeup too! They were so accommodating and would highly recommend them!

the pre-wedding hair & makeup trial, it was very easy to work with Melissa and Tiffany to finalize the look that was right for me for the big day (makeup: mostly a natural look with some slight enhancements, hair: updo with loose curls, a braid and a flower crown). Also, both were able to adapt their styles and techniques for a variety of requests from our bridal party and other beauty guests. In particular, two of my bridesmaids are Indian and Melissa and Tiffany were more than capable of creating looks for a range of skin tones and hair textures. Other requests ranged from a look to complement one of my friend’s trendy look (who had a side head shave) to a makeup look that helped my mom reduced the appearance of her rosacea. Lastly, Melissa and Tiffany were very flexible during the wedding day. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had two beauty guests that were unable to arrive and we were able to sub them with other guests. And during this process, we were actually able to add another guest. Overall, everyone was satisfied with their looks. My friend even shared her look to her 2,000+ followers on Instagram.

hair, and my two bridesmaids. They looked so beautiful, and our hair was done in the morning (due to scheduling) and it stayed put all day. It was so great to come on short notice, I am very appreciative of her talents and effort.

was very glad to be in Melissa and Tiffany's hands. I wanted a very natural look in terms of makeup, and I am glad I went to do the trial because we were able to figure out what I didn't want (no lashes, no liner). And I thank Tiffany for being flexible on the day of as well, as we made a decision to not do the spray air-brush, and instead start again using a very light foundation. It was perfect and I felt beautiful. And thank you to Melissa who made my hair look fantastic half up and half down, with curls! And thank you for respecting my bridesmaid's request of no hair spray. My sister loved her full updo as well, and I was impressed how well the hairdos held even the days after. And the flower girls' hair was adorable and perfect. Thank you very much - you two are AMAZING at what you do.

so everyone had a fun, easy time getting ready for the wedding! They use Venmo and other electronic money transferring apps, so payment for all the girls was very easy as we all paid for ourselves.

lanning for the bridesmaids, to the big day, Tiffany was only a text or an email away. She eased all of my worries, worked within a tight schedule provided by the venue, and helped me and my girls feel beautiful. Our hair stayed in place the entire night and we all were so happy with Tiffany!

ur best!!! I changed up my look the day of the wedding for both hair and makeup and they both delivered exactly what I was looking for, as if they read my mind. They both were so sweet and talkative and it felt almost as if we had more friends joining us that morning! Thank you again Melissa and Tiffany!

talented makeup artist! They arrived on time and ready to jump in the day of my wedding! We were done way before our completion time, and they made sure everyone looked beautiful and everyone was touched up before they left! I would highly recommend them to anyone who hasn’t found their glam team yet!

them again in the future!!

y bridesmaids, mother and myself could not have felt more beautiful. Both ladies listened to each concern and request and went above and beyond to assure each member of my party as well as I were all content. I truly wish I lived closer to them to have Melissa as my full-time hair dresser but without a doubt will keep both of them #1 on my list for any special occasions and referrals.

first time I met her and had my hair trial I was thrilled-as if she’s worked with my hair forever. Not to mention she has the cutest chic little hair shed in her backyard where we had the trial. From trial to the “big day” she was readily available answering emails and any questions I had. Come the big day her and Marissa we’re there promptly and made all my girls hair gorgeous, especially mine! 😘They made sure down til the last minute that we were all ready to go. Thank you Melissa!☺️❤️

hed until my day was over. I would definitely recommend and hire her again. PS I’ll need a hair cut soon and I’ll be coming your way!

much as possible. Her and her team actually worked so fast that we were ahead of schedule for the most part! And the beauty of their work was not affected by how quick they went. Melissa made my day so easy and relaxing. It was great to have her there with me. From the moment I sat in her chair, she started to massage my head and for sure that calmed my nerves a little. I started getting upset about the weather and she turned that right around by telling me happy stories of weddings she was a part of. Her team was so nice and all did such an incredible job. I would absolutely recommend to book her if you are thinking about it! Prices are reasonable as well compared to other places.

ll of our questions efficiently and with great suggestions. I'm so happy they were there the morning of the wedding---it was like having more friends to celebrate with! I loved them so much I even told them to come to the wedding! My wife and I felt so beautiful on our wedding day and we couldn't have done it without Melissa for our hair and Tiffany for our makeup! We cannot recommend them enough!

specially thrilled because we weren't able to schedule a trial in advance, so it was a relief when Tiffany arrived and proved to be so professional and so immediately able to give us exactly what we wanted. She was also fun to have around - she managed a somewhat hectic environment in the last few hours before the ceremony began, and she didn't bat an eye! I would recommend her highly to anyone in the area.

found her by chance on The Knot and so glad I did!

styles together. My wedding day hair was better than i could’ve hoped for! Absolutely loved it. The rest of the wedding parties Hair was also so very beautiful. We also worked with Make up by Tiffany as they commonly work together. They are a fantastic duo. Definitely recommend them!!

th every girl that was in their chair. I’d highly recommend them for any event you have coming up!! Thank you again so much girls!

ly what I wanted. Melissa did a trial with me before hand and gave me specific instructions on how to cut and wash my hair before the day which made all the difference. My hair was beautiful and it held up through out the night.. even through the swing dance I did with my husband where he had to flip me over. Thank you Melissa! I definitely recommend her to anyone. She is the best!

truly amazing. She really knows what she's doing and though she'll do nearly whatever you ask her to do with your hair, she has a great eye for what will look good for you. I primarily chose this team because of Melissa and her ability to do a fantastic job on hair. Tiffany is fantastic at applying makeup and, when given direction, will do exactly what you tell her. She's great at making sure the makeup and all aspects of your face look even and smooth so please know everyone will look pretty. While she doesn't necessarily have the eye for makeup that Melissa has for hair, you truly won't be disappointed with Tiffany. She listens and will essentially do whatever she can to make sure you're happy with the look she gives you. I'm not a makeup connoisseur and am very indecisive so I had hoped for more guidance in figuring out what I wanted, but as I had a couple makeup trials before booking Dutchess County Hairstylist, I came to learn what styles looked good and was able to convey that to Tiffany, which ensured I was very happy with my wedding day makeup because Tiffany knows how to deliver. On my wedding day, Tiffany arrived early and Melissa was only a couple minutes late so we were able to start mostly on time and finished on schedule. Tiffany managed to efficiently and beautifully work ahead of schedule, but Melissa's final product was definitely worth the wait. I will say that if you don't hire them to stick around for reapplication (which I didn't, but they do offer these services for a reasonable fee), be sure to bring extra concealer or foundation. By the reception entrances, a good amount of my foundation had rubbed off my nose and I would've looked for rudolph if I didn't reapply. You won't be disappointed, though, if you book Melissa and Tiffany. They are a great and affordable team and I don't regret my decision at all!

new that she was going to be the best choice to do my hair. I was very set in my ways on what I wanted for my wedding hair and Melissa made my vision come to life. My entire bridal party including my mother were beyond thrilled with how their hair turned out. I can not forget about Tiffany who did an AMAZING job on all the girls makeup. Her and Melissa made my wedding morning stress free. If you are looking for hair and makeup, you can stop looking!! Thank you so much for everything!!!!

r a team that could handle my hair and makeup, and four bridesmaids the day of my wedding in Poughkeepsie. They arrived on time and ready to jump in. They both requested a photo of a hair style and look I was after. During the trial, I gave them both feedback so that we could go from the photos I brought and then adjust to my own preferences that deviated a bit from the photos. They were both very accommodating and patient. Between their talent and flexibility, and my feedback, they created the perfect princess look I was after. They were great with my girls, too! I had each girl bring a photo of their look, and they fashioned hair and makeup that both resembled the photo, but worked with the natural features of each girl. I’m so pleased to offer my praise and highest recommendation to them both. Melissa and Tiffany are both incredibly talented and professional.

y much at ease and worked very well with our other vendors. She went above and beyond and I would recommend her to everyone!

elissa’s work! Highly recommended!!

so that my hair would look even nicer than the trial and she was spot on. She met us at the hotel we stayed at the night before and started with our hair at 5am so we would all be ready and at the venue by 10:30am. All six of us had different hair types and she was able to whip everyone's hair into shape. Everyone was thrilled with the way their hair turned out, we all looked beautiful and it stayed looking beautiful all the way until the end of the night. In addition Melissa's assistant was great and was able to do one of my bridesmaids makeup on the spot. The vibe the morning of my wedding was exactly what i was hoping for, both ladies are highly personable and the playlist they used was fantastic. I couldn't have asked for a better vendor :)

lovely on my wedding day and it held up pretty well and was a decent value; however, the owner Melissa's lack of professionalism during and after my wedding left a very poor taste in my mouth that I had to share. Melissa insisted on having a photo of what we wanted so she could duplicate it, but she lacked that extra artistic instinct to create looks of her own or to expand on pictures and ideas. My trial went fine, a bit rushed, and nothing more than duplicating my photos. The day of my wedding, my maid of honor was less than pleased with the results of her hair, but was trying to give her more ideas to work with; she was met with rolling eyes, dismissive attitudes and scoffing. This was predominantly directed at me, the bride, on my wedding day, behind my sister's back and it was less than appreciated. It truly made me feel uncomfortable. All this aside, I was not going to write a bad review because I hate doing it; everyone has an off day and I don't want to hurt anyone's way to make a living. Then, following my wedding day, I was sent MULTIPLE text messages every couple days asking me to write a review. It became such an issue that I finally had to explain that I wouldn't give 5 stars and didn't want to write one if it wasn't good. To my surprise, after all the messages, instead of being asked where she could make improvements or what went wrong, I was simply dismissed. I then decided to try to explain to her what happened and why I felt unhappy, and never even got a response. Overall, I would personally not recommend this hairdresser, but I cannot speak to the quality of the makeup artists she works with because the only artist who had a portfolio, was unable to attend on my wedding date. This review is only for the hair. Thank you for your time and best of luck on your big day!

realized there was nothing to worry about. The girls were great; they came to our place and did our hair and makeup on time. I really enjoyed working with them! Thank you so much again for making my day special!
