Hi beauty! We're so happy you're considering joining the St. James Salon family!
Because choosing the right bridal hair and makeup vendor for your big day is even more important than, dare we say, the dress! After all, when it comes to feeling like the most beautiful woman in the world, that confidence comes from within.
So you start researching artists and everyone wants to show off their glam styles, but how do you know that they’ll get you, and what you want? And what about making all your different bridesmaids, mothers and grandmothers happy too?
Beauty, worry no more! We aren’t a cookie-cutter shop that masks you up and has you looking like a different person on your wedding day.
We believe in revealing the beauty that is already within you, so your partner sees you walking down the aisle, and you feel like the most beautiful version of yourself, all day!
Now, if you’re looking for a hair and makeup team based exclusively on price, we probably aren’t for you. While our prices are competitive, we aren’t the cheapest in town, and that’s because of the value and experience we deliver from the day you sign up with us - all the way to your big day.
You’ll be absolutely radiant, exuding confidence and poise from the inside out so you can relish in your special day, and marvel at your photos for a lifetime to come.
And we’ll accomplish this for your entire bridal party as well! Because when it comes to your wedding day, time is the most precious commodity. You’ll never get those moments back.
Yet most brides forget to ensure that the vendor is masterfully experienced in serving large groups, without putting a strain on the day’s schedule. This often leads to painful and exhausting bridal party preparation, late ceremony start times, or a day where you become more concerned about everyone being ready on-time and happy, leaving you little time to actually enjoy your special day!
With St. James Salon, you get it all - stunning final results that will have you and your bridal party looking and feeling your absolute best, without the chaos or stress.

Lauren and her team were the absolute BEST! I had such an amazing experience with Lauren and Nicole at my trial, and my bridal party and I had the same experience on my wedding day...
! They truly made my hair and makeup visions come to life, while also making my wedding party feel comfortable and beautiful. Most of us have never had professional hair and makeup done, and the St. James team was absolutely stellar!!
Lauren and her team were so great and it felt like I was hanging out with friends. They were very professional and asked all the right questions when it came to how I wanted to loo...
k and feel on my wedding day. I never felt pressured to purchase any of the optional add ons which was lovely. My wedding was less than 2 weeks before Lauren's own wedding and you'd never have known it as she was so calm, kind and professional. I felt so confident and beautiful on my day thanks to the St. James team.
I couldn't recommend St. James Salon more. For our party of 11, they sent out 5 girls to complete hair and makeup for everyone. I loved having everyone at the wedding venue instead...
of traveling to a salon and they were able to get through everyone in a few hours. I loved working with Lauren in particular, who was extremely professional, made sure her team was on track and put me at ease. 10/10 would recommend to anyone having a wedding in the Napa area!
I had a negative trial experience with another salon and my planner helped me get connected with St. James about a month before my wedding. The level of professionalism and care is...
out of this world. The team really listened to my wants/needs and wanted to know what didn’t go well with the other salon. My preview session was amazing. For the day of the wedding they perfectly styled hair and makeup for all of my bridesmaids and myself. I highly recommend booking them!!

nt. You were on time, kind, and professional throughout the process of getting 11 of us ready for the wedding day. In addition, I think you captured what each of us wanted our look to portray. The three of you were also a joy to work with and we would be happy to serve as references for you at any time.
All the best to you, Stevie, and Nicole - Julie H

Any questions I had leading up to the day they would always respond within 24 hours and were always helpful!
The day of the wedding was amazing! They came to us and made all of my bridesmaids and I feel and look beautiful!
They are a must for your special day!
OH MY GOODNESS. I cannot say enough amazing things about the St. James Salon team. As a wedding planner in another state, I have seen my fair share of beauty teams, and St. James A...
BSOLUTELY exceeded my expectations. Lauren was communicative and honest throughout the booking process, and Cherice was so responsive during the wedding planning process. Lauren did my hair and makeup trial for our engagement photos, and it felt like I had known her for years when I was sitting in her beauty chair. She truly worked with me to develop a hair and makeup style that made me feel beautiful and confident. Fast forward to the wedding day: the St. James team (Lauren, Emilee, and Eliza) were the ULTIMATE hype women. They treated my getting-ready crew with respect and listened to each individual woman's hair and makeup preferences. My sisters do not wear makeup regularly, and Emilee and Eliza did an incredible job making them feel comfortable with the amount of makeup that was applied. My bridesmaids loved getting glammed up by the team. Lauren was a dream to work with and was so helpful suggesting hair styles that would fit our wedding day vision. My husband could not stop saying how stunning I looked, and was impressed with how much I still looked like myself--just the best version of myself! Having a hair and makeup team that you trust is absolutely essential on your wedding day, because you are spending your (likely stress-filled) morning with your beauty team. These ladies kept us calm, made us laugh, and got us excited for all of the events of the day. I cannot recommend St. James Salon enough to anyone looking for the BEST hair and makeup experience!!

TL;DR if you care about clear and prompt communication, COVID safety or vaccinations, look elsewhere.
I hate writing bad reviews, but given our experience with St. James, I feel ...
compelled to write this one. We signed a contract with St. James in February 2021, before COVID-19 vaccines were broadly available. Once vaccines became generally available, our venue introduced a policy of requiring them for all of their onsite employees and contractors. Given (1) the rise of the delta variant, (2) the fact that we have high-risk members of our group, and (3) there is no guarantee that our venue will not extend their policy to cover vendors onsite for events in the next 8 months (ie. Before our wedding), we felt it was necessary to get confirmation from all of our vendors of their vaccination statuses, especially the vendor whose job it is to touch our faces for several hours. We emailed all of our existing wedding vendors, and got near-immediate responses confirming positive vaccination statuses for all employees from every single one, except St. James Salon.
After eight days and several emails, we got a response from Lauren (the owner) and were told that (quotes copy/pasted directly) “We are more than happy to ensure that all team members for your event be either vaccinated or have negative COVID tests prior to your event, whichever would make you feel most comfortable in having a stress-free and relaxing day”. Unfortunately, after I asked to get this in writing, this stance was changed four days later to “We do not feel it to be in our integrity to require anyone to share vaccination status with anyone else, and in that will not be requiring any of our team members to be vaccinated to work with our team.” Given their seeming inability to provide a team of people who could comply with our/our venue’s possible requirements, she ended our contract on the spot. From our initial email inquiring about their vaccination status, it took two weeks to reach a conclusion, costing us valuable time in a wedding season that has seen vendors booked out months and years in advance.
Even beyond COVID-related concerns, our communication with St. James after signing our contract was flaky and off-putting. When I scheduled my “Dream Skin Consultation”, I received an email saying “Please honor my time by showing up to our session, on time, or notifying me at least 24 hours in advance should you need to reschedule.” Upon actually showing up for my appointment, I waited for Lauren for 30 minutes, until I ultimately determined that she would be a no-show. When we finally met, it seemed to be an opportunity for Lauren to recommend $356 worth of skincare products I probably didn’t need.

It was just truly perfect. Lauren 100% nailed my vision and I was nervous about it since it was a last minute change but it couldn't have come out looking better!
I tried to give St James Salon the benefit of the doubt, I really did because I really wanted to like them, but I don’t think I’ve ever been so disappointed by a vendor/customer se...
rvice before-
Initially, I had a great phone conversation with Lauren regarding what I was looking for for my trial and wedding day, she was very sweet. However, after the initial phone call I was getting super pushy vibes from St James and was a bit turned off, but still agreed to set up a trial for hair and makeup anyway. I scheduled the hair and makeup trial 2 months in advance, and made it for to the morning of our engagement party. After this everything got increasingly worse, honestly I felt like I was on an episode of punk’d (Ashton, I’m still waiting for you to come out from hiding)! About a month before, I reached out to the salon to confirm the appointment day and time and I didn’t hear back from someone for weeks (after many attempts from me). About 2 weeks before my appointment, I realized that no one had reached out to me in regards to what I would need to come prepared with (should I wash my hair before? Should I send pictures of looks I want…etc), so I emailed the salon, called them a handful of times in a span of a week and NO RESPONSE. By this time it was about 4 days before my appointment and I knew absolutely nothing. I reached out to Lauren directly and asked her if she could confirm details for me or I would be interested in knowing their cancellation policy, I got an email minutes later from someone at the salon confirming my appointment day, time, and details. You think that’s the end? No.. it just couldn’t be. THE NIGHT BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT I get a missed call and voicemail from Lauren telling me that my appointment had to be moved due to a wedding situation. Honestly, my jaw dropped. After weeks, and frankly a full month, of just radio silence after I patiently and kindly waited to hear back about my appointment, and after so much frustration this is what I end up with? Im not sure if you’ve ever tried finding someone to do hair/makeup for you 6pm on a Friday night, during wedding season, the night before an event, but it’s is nearly impossible and I was absolutely defeated and disappointed. St James made my experience stressful and frankly just terrible. I was left to fend for myself the morning of my engagement party, and let’s just say I was really sad about it. I won’t forget the terrible customer service I received from St James, there was not even basic respect offered to me. Im not sure how someone expects anyone to go through with a company after an experience like that- if you can’t even make it for my appointment that you yourself booked and said you were available for, how am I supposed to count on you for my wedding day?
My experience with Lauren and the entire crew at St James Salon was above and beyond what I could have hoped for!! I wasn’t able to have an in person consultation but they were sti...
ll able to perfectly understand the look I was going for. I felt totally supported by St James Salon the moment we began working together! They were completely flexible as I made last minute changes & added more guests (who ended up looking amazing as well!). I really can’t recommend them enough!

inty and hurdles we had to overcome to finally have our big day. Not only did they do an amazing job, but we felt safe the entire time. We provided ample amounts of room for social distancing in their own rooms or outside, and they wore their masks the entire time. Additionally, we felt comfortable and at ease with the entire team, as their are easy to talk to and helped with easing any anxiety we may be experiencing.
I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with St. James Salon. The team was attentive and answered emails and phone calls in a very timely manner – even with Covid-19 and ...
natural disasters happening all around us! Every person who had their hair and makeup done was absolutely thrilled with the results – including my mom and aunt who are a little harder to please. I had some notes for the team after my hair and makeup trial and every detail was addressed on the day of our wedding. The team arrived right on time, and even finished early! I was thrilled that 4 hair/makeup stylists were sent so that we did not have to start too early in the morning as well. This made for such a relaxed morning and afternoon with beautiful results when we were done! I cant wait to see more photos from our photographer.
St. James Salon went above and beyond, from my trial hair and make up to the day of! Having such an amazing team with me on my wedding day made being a bride so much more memorable...
. Lauren communicated with me along the way - she gave me advice on wedding day details that stretched beyond hair and make up to ensure I had the best day imaginable! Most importantly, St James Salon kept me calm and relaxed on my wedding day and reminded me the day was going to fly by so to enjoy every minute of it.

ke-up trial, to the big day, was seamless. Lauren and her team were also so friendly and a breeze to work with. She was one of the few vendors who actually checked in and remained extremely communicative and accommodating throughout the process. Not to mention, my hair and make-up looked amazing and it was exactly what I had hoped for and more! I would highly recommend booking the St. James Salon team to any friends and family who are planning a wedding in the Sonoma wine country area!

arrived early, which just made the whole day run smoothly and perfect, we all had a blast getting ready. The girls were amazing, so professional and did everything we asked. My entire bridal party was so impressed, and we all loved our hair & makeup. MUST BOOK!

ized throughout the lead-up and the big day! Wonderful team who really knew what they were doing, and the end result was absolutely stunning - I had priced a few stylists around Sonoma, and St. James was one of the more reasonable ones too, which was just an added bonus :) I'd recommend them, hands down, to anyone looking in the Sonoma area. Wish I lived closer, so I could use Lauren as my day-to-day hairdresser!
I had the best experience with Lauren and the St. James Salon! I really did my research when it came to makeup because I wanted to treat my bridesmaids and it can quickly get real...
ly expensive. St. James was very reasonably priced compared to other makeup artists and incredibly easy to work with. I did a bridal makeup trial about eight months before my wedding and loved working with Lauren. Then over the course of several months I sent her a ton of questions regarding logistics, pricing, etc. and she was always patient and super fast to get back to me. On the day of my wedding, I asked for a couple small changes to my makeup, and she absolutely nailed it. I am not someone who wears a lot of makeup so wearing bridal makeup can feel overwhelming but she managed to do exactly what I wanted and it looked SO natural - I felt absolutely beautiful. On top of all that, I cried THE ENTIRE NIGHT, and my makeup did not come off or smear at all - how is that possible? St. James is magic. Lauren is a sweetheart. You won't be disappointed.

y hair. And I was so nervous about the makeup because I am not a daily makeup wearer and I always feel overdone when I get my makeup professionally done, but Stevie J Martinez did an AMAZING JOB and I was so in love with my look from top to bottom. I definitely recommend this salon for your wedding day needs!

nd my mom. The team was very flexible and very kind. My wedding was in early July 2018 and it was HOT. Not only did everyone’s hair and make up last through the emotions of a wedding but also through the heat of the afternoon (and dancing into the night, of course). I had one small change I wanted after having my make up trial and they were able to apply that change perfectly on the big day. I got so many compliments on my hair and my make up was exactly what I was hoping for. I think the whole team did a really great job and I recommend them to anyone getting married in Sonoma County!

ictoria, Stephen, and Alicia were easy to work with and ensured each of us felt comfortable and happy with the end result. I am so glad we decided to do hair and makeup for the bridal party, MOG, and MOB! Everyone looked their very best on the day of and in the photos we will now cherish forever!

they were very responsive from the beginning and punctual in lining out the pricing/quote. The pricing is very reasonable as well. I mentioned I didn’t wear much makeup at all (if ever). I requested a “natural” look and they delivered! My hair and makeup trial went well, both Rachel and Lauren were responsive of my inspiration photos and did a wonderful job. For the wedding day they have a team vibe. They have multiple people to help get things done in a timely manner. Overall, I was just impressed with their artistry and professionalism. All my bridesmaids loved them as well! I’d definitely recommend them. I had a great experience.

esome and very easy to work with. I’m so happy I chose St. James Salon for my wedding! Thank you ladies :)
This team was incredible! They helped talk me down from some pre-wedding stress about the length of my hair and what styles were possible before I even went in for my trial. When I...
did go for my hair and makeup trial they listened to everything I asked for and I was thrilled with my look. What really made them incredible, though, was their organization and professionalism for accommodating the very large group that requested services the day of the wedding. Instead of a traditional, uniform crew of bridesmaids, my wedding party consisted of cousins, aunts, my mother and my grandmother, with a range of ages from 10-79 and a range of hair and makeup preferences to match. The team from St. James made sure everyone felt like the best version of themselves. Perhaps the best compliment is that my 21 year-old cousin initially told me she wanted to do her own makeup for the wedding because she had gotten her makeup done professionally for prom and hated it so much she didn’t trust anyone. However, when she saw the looks St. James was achieving for the other members of our group, she asked if there was any way they could fit her in for makeup too! They were able to fit her in to the already crunched schedule and it made her day.
I was lucky enough to be able to book Lauren with St. James salon for my wedding hair and make up. I’ve been going to her for hair cuts and highlights for a little over three years...
. I couldn’t imagine anyone else doing my hair and makeup for my big day! She made getting ready so easy and stress free! I didn’t know exactly how I wanted to have my hair and makeup done. But Lauren knew and it was exactly how I imagined. She made me look and feel like a princess. Lauren is very good at what she does I couldn’t imagine having anyone else do my hair and make up. She is very quick to respond and very professional! She doesn’t just rush you so she can move on to the next client she takes her time to make sure everything is perfect! She gets to know you and your hair and makes it right for you. Thank you Lauren!

g day and was in awe of Lauren's ability to take in my crazy pinterest page and narrow down what I really wanted in my hairstyle. I loved the trial and she offered a suggestion of adding a clip or comb above my updo, which really added to it after I took off my veil for the reception. On the day-of we had 7 bridesmaids and 2 moms get hair and makeup, as well as my grandma. They worked quickly, but with care to make sure each girl was liking how the style was coming along as they went. Every girl was so happy with their style (and all of them were so different!) Hair and makeup lasted all night with no issues, even through many tears. I would definitely use this team again, they are so talented and worked hard to ensure we were all happy and beautiful!
St. James Salon was an AMAZING choice for our wedding day. From the trial to the day-of, they were great with accepting my suggestions and scheduling. On the day, they got all 7 of...
us (me, three bridesmaids and two moms) done in just a few hours, and were incredibly punctual. They also took our varied requests in stride... two of my bridesmaids NEVER wear makeup, so they gave them a beautiful natural look, and one wanted a HUGE hairdo, and they went with it and it looked incredible. I loved every one of their ideas and they really came through in pictures. What’s more, their prices were competitive! Thank you so much to Lauren and her mom and their team!
Amazing! St. James Salon was so profession, timely and efficient. Not to mention they made us all look and feel beautiful. They were will to work anywhere and all the mothers loved...

refer/than I usually wear. The team was so open to my feedback, and when it came time for my wedding day, they had adjusted their plan to better fit my vision for my makeup. My makeup looked absolutely perfect on my wedding day and was exactly what I wanted. My hair was also exactly how I wanted. They also did my bridesmaid's hair just like the picture I showed them, and even helped out in small areas with the bridesmaids who hadn't even paid for their services. They went above and beyond. I couldn't recommend them enough!

was extremely professional, timely, and kind in all communication we had leading up to the wedding and I sincerely appreciated it. No matter how many emails I sent her with silly questions, she was always quick to respond and a joy to work with.
We all had a fabulous experience with the bridal team on my wedding day! They made the process of getting ready so much fun. Everyone was really nice and they did an incredible job on everyone's hair and makeup. Even both of the moms who never like it when they get their makeup done, loved their makeup and felt great that day. It was awesome having them come as a team for both the hair and makeup. It made things way less stressful! I personally have to give major props to Stephen and Koree for making me feel the prettiest I have ever felt. I felt like they both truly listened to what I wanted and made it come to life. They are both such lovely people with amazing talent. We were all beyond grateful for the hard work and dedication of everyone on the team and would highly recommend the team at St. James Salon!
Lauren and her her mother did an amazing job! They took care of everything and I didn't have to worry about a thing. They brought all of their supplies to my Air BnB, set up, made...
us beautiful, and cleaned up. It really contributed to the laid back feeling that I wanted to have while getting ready for my wedding.
One of the members of my wedding party had a medical emergency, and had to cancel her hair appointment at the last minute. Lauren was completely understanding and offered a full refund on her services and rearranged the timing of the rest of the appointments to better accommodate the number of people that were now going to be having services completed.
I would recommend St James Salon to anyone looking for a salon for hair and make up services. They are friendly, accommodating and left each one of us feeling beautiful and ready for the big day!
The ladies of St. James Salon were attentive, thoughtful and spot-on when it came to my bridal hair and makeup. The same goes for my bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law.

nned my wedding at Timber Cove from across the country in Atlanta, Georgia, and the St. James team reassured me that they could bring my ideas to life despite the fact that I wouldn't be able to have my consultation until a few days prior to the wedding.
I put my full trust in them, and it paid off! The consultation went smoothly, and the staff were patient and listened to my feedback. They proved to be extremely adaptable and nimble when the few changes I requested were made day-of.
The ladies of St. James were able to see and execute my vision, and they gave me great peace of mind as I enjoyed all the festivities associated with my wedding day. I highly recommend this team!

p and was worried about not looking like myself) they were very flexible and offered a complimentary redo. Michelle totally understood my concerns and gave me a perfect pretty and natural look that made me feel confident and comfortable in my skin, but that also photographed beautifully. On the day of the wedding, I had a last minute change in hairstyle due to jewelry that I had picked just days before (I wanted to show off a necklace that went down my back). Koree rolled with it and gave me exactly the look I was hoping for using just photos I showed her, no trial! I was a nervous wreck on my wedding day, but the St. James team was an incredibly calming presence. Genuinely nice people who are a pleasure to work with and are great at what they do!

They did a great job on all and work very efficiently, I was amazed at how quickly they can get everyone done! Everyone was very happy and looked great, very fresh and natural. One bridesmaid never likes it when someone else does her hair but thought she would give it a try and she was so happy with the result. It was such a wonderful experience, book with St. James you won't be disappointed!
Lauren and her team did an amazing job on not only my hair and makeup, but my bridesmaids and mother, as well.
I would highly recommend her - sweet, calm, and personable.

ill looked nearly perfect at the end of the night after photos and ceremony in the heat (it was about 98 degrees!) and an evening of dancing.
I was in communication with Lauren to set up details and book our team; she was easy to work with and very kind and professional when my first makeup trial did not go well. I especially enjoyed working with Koree (hair) and Michelle (makeup). They both checked in with me about the look throughout the process and did a great job making my vision a reality.
A team of four came to do on-site services and arrived on time and well prepared with everything they needed. They were all nice to work with and my bridal party was satisfied with their looks and thought the team did a good job making sure they were happy with the results.
