I first met Dana at my best friend's wedding just two weeks before getting engaged myself. I knew immediately who my first call would be.
From the the very first, Dana was perfecti...
on. She is incredibly organized, knowledgeable, and kind. I was planning my wedding from the UK and I could not have imagined going through this process without her. There were several things I loved about working with Dana, but to name a few:
-Her calmness. At stressful moments of bridal anxiety, the only thing I had to think was - "I have Dana. It will be ok." She held my hand every step of the way with her groundedness and calm energy.
-Her experience with vendors. I was overwhelmed by the amount of options when it came to all the vendors for my wedding, but with Dana's experience, she provided a few options for each vendor after getting to know me and learning what my husband and I wanted for our wedding. We ended up with the the most perfect wedding team, with Dana at the helm, and our day felt so special.
-Her knowledge and organization. It's one of those old sayings - you don't know what you don't know - and it could not be more true for planning a wedding. There were so many tiny details that I didn't realize were part of the day (and I've been a bridesmaid 8 times)! Dana made sure that every detail was organized and planned without being pushy! I loved getting her opinion on how things should go but never felt like I was being told what to do.
-Her kindness. Along with being an expert planner, Dana exuded friendliness and warmth throughout the entire process. It is one thing to have a planner who has their act together when it comes to organization, but to have a planner who is also supportive and kind and a cheerleader for you? It's the trifecta.
If you want the wedding day of your dreams with the planner who makes it all happen, look no further than Dana and Southern Styled Events. She is the best decision (besides my husband) that I made for my wedding.
Dana came recommended to us by a close and trusted friend who had worked with her in the industry. My friend described her as "type a" which I feel like is the best trait to have i...
n a wedding planner! By the time I got engaged, my mom and I had a lot on our plates and knew we needed full service wedding planning. And WOW Dana and her team could not have been a better fit for us. She basically held our hand the entire way and made my dream wedding a reality. Dana has a very calm demeanor which is something I feel like all brides need during the wedding planning process. I was never nervous that something wasn't going to get done because I knew Dana had everything under control. When it came to wedding day I seriously did not worry about a SINGLE THING. All of my bridesmaids and even some vendors remarked on how chill the morning was while we got ready and I can finally reflect that that was because of DANA! I also had a fabulous bridal attendant Miranda who was there with me all day to make sure I had what I needed! There was not a single stresser on the big day. Booking a wedding planner was the smartest thing for me and my mom but booking Dana was a blessing from God! I will forever rave about her and recommend her to my friends and family! We love you Dana and are SO thankful for the energy and commitment it took to make our day so beautiful!
I had the absolute honor of working with Dana at a wedding last year, and she is truly incredible! As someone in the wedding industry myself, I was blown away by her eye for design...
and unmatched attention to detail. She created the most beautiful day for our couple- designing everything from scratch under a stunning tent in the bride’s parents’ backyard. It was nothing short of amazing.
Not only did she keep the day running seamlessly, but you could see how deeply she cared for the couple, their families, and even the vendors. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt supported and taken care of, which speaks volumes about who she is. Dana is truly a one of a kind planner, and her and Miranda make such an incredible team.
I could not recommend them enough and honestly wish I could work every single wedding with them. I can’t wait for the next time our paths cross!

g process!! She was always only a text or phone call away when needed and made sure that I stayed on track with everything each month! We had a hard time with the venue we chose and Dana really went to bat for us and made sure that we didn’t get screwed over. After 1 phone call with Dana I knew that she was the time that would ensure everything I wanted came to life! Highly recommend hiring Dana if you are a type A person because she makes sure that everything is done and thought of done to the smallest detail!!! Thank you for all of your hard work and making our day the best!

ghout the entire process! My fiancé (now husband) and I had to move across the country for work in December— leaving me trying to move, change jobs, AND plan a wedding! Miranda was seriously a guiding light for us from January until the day of! We would talk every week about coordination and what to do next with wedding planning. These talks very quickly became my favorite part of the week! She was so on top of all of the moving parts and pieces, and not afraid to call someone for me if needed! It was so reassuring to have someone advocating for me and exactly what I wanted. She did such a good job on the day of our wedding as well! Everything went so smoothly and everyone knew where they needed to be! My parents are even wanting to use her again for my 2 little sisters weddings! All in all, she helped us have the BEST day ever and for that we are SO thankful!

nning took all of the worry off of our shoulders. From communicating and organizing with vendors early in the process to even loading up our car for us after the reception, it was just a huge advantage for my daughter's wedding day. Miranda thought of our every need, and we are so grateful to her and Kelsea for making this a wonderful day. Highly recommend!
If 6 stars, actually if 20 stars was an option, Dana would get all 20. I knew she would be fantastic the moment I spoke to her on the phone. If I could give one piece of advice to ...
brides: GET A WEDDING PLANNER (but specifically Dana)! One of my best friends is using her for her wedding in 2026! She was everything I needed. She has the super power to be in 5 places at one time, while juggling 15 balls, and does it gracefully. I could go on forever about how wonderful she is, not just at her job, but as a person. I am so thankful she was with us during the whole wedding planning, but I am more thankful she is now my friend.
Hiring Dana was the best wedding decision I made (outside of marrying my husband). We chose to get married on our family farm and I knew there was no way I could create a venue out...
of nothing without some help. Being in a rural area, I didn't even know where to begin to find vendors who would service us. After attending a wedding close to our location that Dana planned and loving everything about it, I knew we had to hire her! Dana understood our vision and used her vast network of vendors to help us create the venue of our dreams while also helping us stay within our budget. She took all of the stress out of planning allowing me to really enjoy being engaged and this exciting new season of life. The team at Southern Styled Events is truly invaluable and I could not recommend them enough!
Do yourself a favor and hire Dana! Her hard work allowed me to actually enjoy the wedding planning process. I chose to have my wedding and reception at my parent's home and I knew ...
having this celebration at a private residence would require extra planning. That's where Dana stepped in. The moment I met her she just "got" my wedding vision. Dana was with me every step of the way, from vendor meetings to linen choices. I told her what was important to me and the aspects of wedding planning that I didn't care for, she just completely took off my plate. On the *rare* occasion that something went wrong, not only did she have a backup plan ready, but it was already in action by the time I even realized there was an issue. It's not possible to fully list all the ways Dana stepped up and stepped in, but I will say, my wedding day was the best day of my life! Dana was professional, punctual on every occasion, and has amazing vendor contacts in the wedding industry. I could not recommend her and her team highly enough.

clockwork. On the day of the wedding she took care of every detail and enabled me (MOB) to fully enjoy the day. Hiring a wedding planner was the wisest thing we did for our daughter's wedding. I cannot recommend Southern Styled Events enough. They truly are the BEST in the business!

rs. As someone who likes to plan early, she was so good at keeping me focused on the most important things first. She made for a very stress-free planning process. She is someone I look up to now and I know I always have a friend in her! Thank you, Dana! We love you.

ying to stick to a strict budget so the “month of” planning option was ideal. I used to think it was a luxury to have a wedding planner in any capacity, but I now know it is an absolute necessity if you are wanting to be present in your day and enjoy it, as I was able to do thanks to Dana. Truly, if I had to choose between Dana and one of the other necessary vendors, I would do without something else just to have her there.

ding venue, Renaissance Ross Bridge and a fun band. I had all the hopes that Between me, my mom, and my mother-in-love we could easily plan the wedding of my dreams. A week later, I remember texting my mom and telling her I could no longer plan the wedding and asked if we could hire a wedding planner. I found Southern Styled Events thanks to The Knot and immediately knew I needed to reach out for help! I chose the partial planning package since I had already locked in venue, etc and had the pleasure of getting to work with Dana Baswell! Dana is a true queen! She took all of my random ideas and desires and helped me to fill in the gaps/details that I had no idea I needed. Dana was always there for me when I had random questions or just wanted to share exciting updates with her during the months leading up to wedding day. She met us at our venue on on multiple occasions and each meeting made me even more thankful to have her on my team. She sent me checklists as we got closer to our wedding date and On wedding weekend, she handled everything for us from rehearsal, to vendor setups on wedding day, decorating for the ceremony and reception, the list goes on. Our wedding day was a dream. My family is still raving about how little stress there was on wedding day and how happy and thankful they are that I came to my senses and Insisted that we had to have SSE. Thank you again for everything!

She really is the best!! You will not regret your decision if you chose SSE for your wedding planning. They truly are great right from the beginning until the end. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else.

planner, however I was able to meet and work with several members of her team throughout the wedding weekend and would absolutely feel comfortable trusting my big day to any member of the SSE team. They were responsive, helpful, kind, and easy to work with.
I also chose month-of planning, and honestly wish now that I had done the full planning package once I saw how much stress it took off of me when Dana took things over.

na to know she was the right planner for us! She walked me throughout the entire process with regular check-ins & to do list, and she talked me down from the ledge anytime I was overwhelmed or having anxiety about the stresses that come with planning a wedding. She was also our biggest cheerleader when it came to all of the milestones that came along with the joys of this stage of life.
The best decision we made during our planning process was to hire Dana who is now a lifelong friend! If I had it to do over again, I would hire Dana every time!

she was super helpful & a delight to work with. She possesses a unique ability to be assertive and pay attention to every detail that is happening (which is ALOT) while being kind and super enjoyable to be around. Bridesmaids & family, who have all worked with various coordinators themselves even made comments about how awesome she was! 10/10 recommend!

for our small ceremony in March 2020 with only our parents there, and she was happy for us like it was the actual day we planned for! Her excitement was so appreciated during such uncertain times. And then she stuck with us through the highs and lows of rescheduling our reception MULTIPLE times during the pandemic. And then she celebrated us again and again and was present during our day not just as our wedding planner, but as our friend. She is very easy to communicate with, she answers emails and texts quickly, and she is very organized - everything you would hope for in a wedding planner.
