He didn’t just play music, he helped create an experience that had everyone laughing, dancing, and involved all night long. We wanted our reception to be unique and full of things our guests hadn’t experienced at every other wedding, and Jim absolutely delivered. From the bridal party entrance contest and fun auctions for the first table to eat, there was never a dull moment! He kept the energy high, got everyone involved, and made each part of the night feel personal to us. One of the most special moments was getting to make our pregnancy announcement during the reception. Having Jim help us share such an important and exciting surprise with all of our family and friends made the moment even more memorable. It was something we will never forget! Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had and how different and entertaining our reception was. Jim listened to everything we wanted, helped bring our ideas to life, and added his own creativity to make the night even better than we imagined. I felt like I could relax and not stress about music or what was happening next. They always announced to guests what was happening and it made everyone feel like they knew what was going on.   All the songs were correctly played at the right time, and the ceremony/reception felt like it flowed nicely. nder control throughout our wedding day. Ian was amazing with communication and constantly checked in with me before and during the reception. I was worried about fitting everything into our tight timeline, and he suggested a simple way to shorten our first dance and parent dances while still allowing us to enjoy them. It worked perfectly! He paid close attention throughout the evening and even came to my table during dinner to let me know we had fit everything in with two minutes to spare. He also always checked with me before accommodating guest requests and went above and beyond when I was worried about our photographers leaving before the dancing. He offered to take photos on his own phone so I wouldn't miss those moments. Freddy did a great job as our MC and kept everything flowing smoothly. He was also incredibly accommodating with my last-minute changes and took the time to write everything down and double-check the details with me. After our photographers and videographer left, both Ian and Freddy went above and beyond by taking photos and videos throughout the rest of the night. They captured so many wonderful moments and sent them to me afterward, giving me memories I otherwise wouldn't have had. They truly made my reception one less thing to worry about, and I am so grateful for everything they did for us!

ing the details of our reception planned out. Caleb was our DJ for the wedding and he was fantastic! He was so laidback and made us feel comfortable from the start. He listened to our wants and guided planning of our day with his knowledge and expertise. We had so much fun! He kept the energy up, transitioned flawlessly between songs and parts of our reception, and he checked in with us throughout the night to make sure we hit everything we  wanted. Family and friends kept saying how great the music and vibe was! Those who loved to dance were on the dance floor, and those who weren’t were enjoying and bobbing along from their seats. We also booked a Photo Booth through them, and we are loving checking out the pictures. Our guests had fun with the props and enjoyed their photo strips that they got to take home.  Definitely would recommend!!

We were beyond thrilled with how our special day played out, and SoundWaves Event Group played an immense part in making our wedding evening an absolute blast. We were very particular about what songs we wished to include for cocktail hour, dinner, and the dance portion of the evening, and Jim worked very closely with us to ensure that we could pick all our songs and sequence them in a particular order for all three portions of the evening. Not all deejays are willing to do that, but Jim was more than happy to accommodate our requests. More importantly, Jim adapted very quickly when highway construction delayed our arrival at the hotel for the reception. He kept us organized and on schedule for introductions, and even with an abridged playlist for the dance portion of the evening, Jim knew exactly what songs to play on our list to keep the dance floor full and fun throughout the evening. He honored every must-play request and used his expertise to sequence them perfectly. Best of all, he played Van Morrison’s “Into The Mystic” late in the evening and asked all our family and friends to surround us on the dance floor with their flashlights shining on their phones as Rachel and I danced to one of our most cherished songs, alone on the dance floor. We were blown away with Jim’s creativity and absolute commitment to making that moment so special for us. Jim and Stacy’s impeccable professionalism, kindness, and commitment to answering any questions we had in a prompt and attentive manner went above and beyond anything we could ask for. The SoundWaves Event Group online portal is very easy to navigate and helped keep us organized during hectic wedding planning. Finally, Jim and Stacy’s pricing schedule is an absolute bargain for the fantastic services they provided to us throughout the process and would surely provide anybody else with future weddings or events requiring deejay services. Unfortunately, things started to go downhill about a month before the wedding. I had to reach out multiple times just to find out who our DJ would be. We finally had our planning call less than a week before the wedding with Chip. During the call, he complimented the playlist I had spent months creating, so I left feeling confident. Then, just four days before our wedding, Stacy called to review final details and informed me we'd owe over $200 in additional fees for pre-ceremony music and a third setup because our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were in different spaces. My issue wasn't the fees themselves, it was that none of these details had changed since we booked over a year earlier. Everything had already been discussed, entered into our planning portal, and paid in full weeks before. Finding out about extra charges four days before the wedding was frustrating and avoidable. On the wedding day, Chip seemed unorganized during our introductions. He announced part of our bridal party entrances incorrectly despite reviewing them beforehand. He then unexpectedly handed my husband and me a microphone to pick a winner for the entrances which was something we had never discussed. You can actually see me shaking my head "no" in our wedding video because we had no idea what was happening. After dinner, they played only a couple songs from our playlist before going completely off script. They played several songs we never requested that honestly felt inappropriate for a wedding, and the dance floor emptied. Guests even asked if I had picked the music because it seemed so out of place. My husband asked Chip to stick to our playlist, but they continued with their own choices. After I asked a second time, Chip seemed annoyed but finally told his DJ to follow our playlist. As soon as they did, the dance floor filled up and stayed full the rest of the night. We just shouldn't have had to ask multiple times for them to play the music we had already planned. After the wedding, Stacy called to follow up. I appreciated the call, and she apologized, saying this wasn't how they train their staff. She also said they'd be "sending us something in the mail" to make up for our experience. Over a month later, we've received nothing. Chip also texted my husband afterward saying he "had to work a little to get everyone on the dance floor," which wasn't accurate. The dance floor only emptied while they were playing songs we never requested. He also offered to send us videos he had taken that night, but over a month later we still haven't received those either. What surprises me most is that Soundwaves has hundreds of five-star reviews, which is exactly why we booked them. Maybe our experience was the exception, but it was disappointing enough that I felt it was worth sharing. We only booked DJ services and I can't help but wonder if that affected the level of attention our wedding received. This isn't a one-star review because there were positives. I just wish we hadn't had to spend part of our wedding night asking them to do what we'd already planned together.

I danced the whole night away with my family and would absolutely recommend working with them again! We got many compliments from our guests about Soundwaves and how great their selection was for ALL aged guests at our event (from 2 to 92), not to mention that we were an LGBT couple and felt completely comfortable with them too! 10/10 recommend.
