Sound Explosion Djs

cocktail hour, and reception. Mike played the perfect mix of music for the crowd. Everyone from age 2 to 90+ was on the dancefloor the entire night. All of my guests are still talking about how it was the most fun wedding they've ever attended. Jeremy arranged one of the most memorable, hilarious garter tosses, it was incredible! The lights and video screen were awesome. Within a week of my wedding they sent me 200 photos they took throughout the night which were also shown on the screens. Everything was great and we had the time of our lives! Thank you Mike and Jeremy!!!

track transitions were amazing! The whole party seems like one legendary song! They really listened to our requests too, down to the last detail. We booked a percussionist and saxist with the team and I am so glad we did! Epic night. Eric was SO kind and supportive about our wedding reschedule (thanks Covid) so much so that when we finally met him on our wedding day it felt like greeting an old friend. So in love with our reception and am so thankful for Eric and his team for bringing our dreams to life. Highly recommend!!!

redible leading up to the event.

also honored our request to have a Spanish-speaking MC and even helped us organize our day-of timeline. Thank you, Mike, for everything and making sure our guests had a great time!

uests wanted to listen to and they also played traditional music for my family. The lighting was great and the energy was very positive! They turned my wedding into a great event! They even played some of my husband’s favourite songs. Thanks Steve and Guy!

much to Billy and the whole team for being such a huge part of one of the most important days of our lives! You guys did a phenomenal job and will surely be part of all future events we have!

ith felt right; that was until my first meeting with Mike DeMaio. I knew right away that he was perfect for my vision and that I had to book him and Sound Explosion for my wedding! Mike knew exactly what I was looking for, even when I didn't. He spent a lot of time going back and forth with me (emails, texts, phone calls), reviewing all of my wedding details, providing wonderful suggestions, and making the planning as simple as possible. The professionalism and overall kindness was beyond what I imagined. Day of my wedding, Sound Explosion arrived early to set up and discuss final details with myself and the venue. They worked wonderfully with all my other vendors and they made certain that I had nothing to worry about. Everything was handled beautifully on their part. My wedding was exactly as I had envisioned and a lot of that is due to the Sound Explosion team!! Mike DeMaio, Eric, and the guys from Sound Explosion were down-to-earth, a ton of fun, and overall, absolutely fantastic! They are 100% the only Event Group I plan on booking and recommending for all future events.

ons, I set up a meeting. Turns out, their business was 5 min from my house and that we all even had mutual friends. Small world. It broke the ice immediately, but even if it hadnt, Mike and Steven made everything super comfortable anyway. We met a couple times to discuss and it was always easy. They listened to what I wanted, dealt with my over organized personality with a smile, and understood us as a couple. Frankly, we were not conventional. The weirder or more unique something was, the better. From asking Steven to not wear black (which he didn't), playing uncommon ceremony songs to giving a sample playlist mainly consisting of reggae, Sound Explosions came through. They did exactly as we asked, and really allowed us to have a great party. Steven kept the party going, was lively, on time, and dressed to the nines. Several times I actually went to thank him for coming because he fit in as a guest so well. The mirror photo booth was a huge hit, and the staff even danced along all time. The next day when we went back to the venue, the staff told us we had the best wedding and that they were dancing to the music on the sidelines. In the end, Steven came through we exchanged hugs because well, we family now! Bottom Line: Great prices, great customer service, great music, and overall a great time! Book them now!

needed. Very easy going would recommend using again.

ouldn't even tell me what their favorite music was! On the contrary, I immediately felt comfortable with Mike. He was personable and professional and throughout the experience continued to provide us info without feeling pressured to make a decision. On the day of the wedding, Mike, Steve and the rest of the team were dedicated to making the day nothing short of spectacular. Their fairy lights were beautiful and something special I had not seen at other weddings before. They showed up early to get everything set up and organized. Throughout the reception, they felt the room and played all the crazy requests our families and friends brought up. The photobooth we booked with them was of course a hit, and they even gave us a beautiful book full of photobooth photos at the end of the night! Finally, they helped us hire a violinist, Arsenio, who was the perfect addition to our wedding ceremony. (He even played the Jurassic Park theme song for me to walk down the aisle to!) The team truly wants to bring your vision to life and will work with you in any direction you want to take it. Overall, you will not be disappointed with booking with Mike DeMaio and team!!

nd our guests are still talking about how great the music was! 100% would recommend!

t reviews was a task BUT luckily, we found Sound Explosion! You won't regret it. We worked with Mike DeMaio as our MC and Neil Beats as DJ. I can't deny that we were a bit specific with our music choices since we wanted a mix of Greek, polka, pop, Latin, and general hits for our family. THEY HIT IT RIGHT ON THE HEAD! Everyone was dancing and it was such a blast. Not only that, Mike was so fun, made everyone have a great time, and he did such a great job with our introductions/dances. He was very understanding and super easy to communicate with. Not only did Sound Explosion DJ and MC for us, they provided us with a photobooth, photobooth attendant, LOVE Marquee Sign AND ceremony musicians. They were very understanding and reasonable when working with our budget which we TRULY appreciated since we were not getting any help from anybody. Photobooth was a hit as usual. The ceremony musicians were even a last minute question but they were able to help us. We were considering just using a speaker but then my husband said he preferred musicians. We asked Sound Explosion if they knew anyone and they were able to set us up with 2 musicians for a violinist and cellist for 1.5 hours. We are eternally grateful for helping us throw such a magical wedding day from beginning to end!

so many compliments on how great our DJ was. The music is such a big part of a wedding and SE exceeded our expectations! The dance floor was packed all night long. I gave Eric little direction and he absolutely nailed it. I also gave Eric a list of requests from all different genres of music and he managed to play them all! We also hired a percussionist through SE. He was AMAZING and so much fun! He interacted with the guests. Such a great touch. I would 100% recommend SE!!

ed out of the DJ/MC on our wedding day. They highly exceeded our expectations. Eric kept the crowd engaged, the dance sets were timed perfectly. We are beyond happy with Sound Explosion DJ's.

us the photo booth, lighting, and love quartet were great. He did so much and all in one place!

d photobooth services, both were great. Highly recommend.

r than the last. They have such a knack for reading the crowd, which isn't an easy feat as a vendor. I had guests of all ages and each of them were on that dance floor at some point. I could not have been happier. Small piece of advice; add the live music!!! You will not regret it! The percussionist and saxist were not only amazingly talented, but also super sexy, and really had my crowd amped up. I wish I could relive that night over and over and over again. The entire team was professional and easy to work with. As a wedding planner myself, I certainly took a lot of time in carefully selecting my vendors, and I couldn't be happier with the DJ team I selected. I am proud to recommend them to all of my clients. I was not disappointed and you will not be either. Thank you Mike and Neil for helping to create the perfect start to our perfect love story. XOXO

playing the perfect song at the perfect times throughout the entire night. Mike, along with his whole team, was extremely attentive with the photo booth, taking requests, entrances, etc. We would 100% recommend Mike and his team at Sound Explosion for your event!! Can't say enough great things!

hat we were looking for (we live in NJ, my husband works in South West NJ and I work in NYC and our wedding was in NYC...so finding a face to face meeting place and time was actually a challenge while planning our wedding). Mike was great through the whole process. He really worked with us to create a good sense of the genres of music that would please us and our guests, he was respectful of our budget, and when we found room to add a lighting backdrop he worked with us on that as well. Sound Explosion also has a lot of other services and set ups that I would encourage would-be brides to look into that compliment the entertainment. Day of both DJ and MC (yes, there were two people working the event) were on point. We had so many compliments on the music, and there were a couple times where a specific request was already queued up to be played! The MC-ing was appropriate, and you could tell they were always monitoring the feel of the crowd, pivoting on a song if it wasn't going over well, and keeping the dance floor full. Mike and his team were cognizant of our specific needs: a much needed edit for our Father/ Daughter song, no bouquet/ garter toss, etc. And kept the party rolling. Though we have a very distinct style, after meeting several times (2-3 face to face), and communicating through e-mail I would confidently say Sound Explosion has the ability to match their style, set up, and offerings to a wide range of weddings and brides. I felt I could trust them to deliver a great service, which as someone reading reviews to find vendors, I assume you could appreciate that sense of security and one less thing to stress about. Bottom line: SE was respectful of our budget, responsive to communications, respectful of our quirky needs, arrived on time, prepared, and stepped in when needed. They have a wide range of offerings for entertainment, and we are still (almost 3 months later) getting compliments on our DJ and MC. Highly recommend.

he very beginning Mike helped me with everything i needed or didn't understand. The week prior he was in contact with me everyday making sure we had everything finalized and ready to go. On the big day, they brought more than i could have imagined. We used uplighting, photo booth, gobo, fog machine, and them as our DJ and it was spectacular. All of our guests could not stop talking about how great the entire team was, along with Mike keeping the crowd going. We had a slight problem with our photo booth because it was new, but Mike was so great it helping everyone out and getting me all of the photos to my guests just two days later! They added little things here and there that just added to our special moment. They really kept up with our personalities for music and our dance floor was never empty. Thank you all again for making our special day great!!

ectations. Their music, lighting, presentation, suggestions, decor, help, immediate responses, etc. made the most important day of my life SO much easier on me. DJ Neil helped me through the whole process. When I walked in I was clueless about exactly how everything went. He made me feel comfortable and at ease. He sat there for hours to help me with choosing songs, who to dance with, the reception entrance, the first dance song, the video montage- everything you can think of to the last detail. DJ Mike DeMaio was amazing! He was always there answering questions, following up, calling to confirm details and making sure every need was met and we were 100% satisfied. I never once had to worry about anything music or entertainment related going even slightly wrong with this team. They were on top of every detail. The day of my wedding they were both there, along with Ryan taking beautiful pictures, and everything went amazingly perfect. I would highly recommend this team to EVERYONE. They are such great people to work with and made what could be a complicated process SO smooth. I have never received so many compliments before and have never been more happy with an outcome before. By far the easiest process and most satisfied outcome of the best day of my life!!!

od with song or artist names, we kinda just hummed or terribly tried to sing a song as Neil pulled from his library song after song that he thought we were trying to recall. Amazingly enough he always got it. We were unsure what songs we wanted for the spotlight dances and looked to Neil for insite. He sat with us playing sample song after song until we decided on one, really he made the whole selection process so easy. I'm half Pakistani and half Italian and wanted some fun Pakistani music in the mix... I emailed Neil a few Pakistani songs I'm sure he never heard before and I can't even explain how amazing the mixes were. Every person was on the dance floor regardless of their ethnicity, because it was a perfect mixture of Paki and American beats. Neil mixed everything up and did an excellent job while Mike killed it MCing. It felt so personal and intimate. I truly felt like a guest at my own wedding. We laid out an outline of what we liked and let him plan the rest. And we got compliments on the music from every age group of guests at our wedding. We ended up giving sound explosions name to a bunch of guests who texted us the day after our wedding and even while we were on our honeymoon. The day of the wedding they were there early to set up, and stayed 12 hours later killing it up until the last moment of the after party. We ordered our photo booth from them and it was such a hit. It was one outside of the booth so everyone could fit inside, and you could watch your pose as the camera counted down. Also they provided a photographer who photographed our guests the whole day, and all photos were printed and provided to guests before the after party began. We had a great experience, Could not have gone better, we thoroughly recommend Neil and Mike from sound explosion!

verything work perfectly. Our reception went off without a hitch and our guests had an absolute blast. I would definitely recommend Mike!

h him, we were excited but not necessarily positive we were ready to book. However as soon as we arrived at the appointment, we knew we found our DJ! His energy is contagious and really gets you even more excited! He was flexible with making appointments and making decisions. We signed our contract and two years later went back to finalize everything. We met with him the Tuesday before the wedding, and again his energy and excitement were contagious! He made us that much more excited about our entrance and all our special songs! Billy really made our wedding more fun! He worked with our best man to put a "parental advisory" sign on the screens, made the Backstreet Boys fit into a set at the wedding, and played the best mix of music to keep all our guests (of all ages!) on the dance floor all night! He was truly an asset to making my wedding flow effortlessly and making it the best night of my life! It's been over about 2 weeks now, and my husband and I watch our Same Day Edit (recommended by Billy to do) and our Bridal Party Entrances videos everyday because we are just so in love with how everything came together, and we couldn't have done it without Billy and Sound Explosion's help! Married 10/15/16 at Gramercy

1 song to play or even let him know my style, but he sure did know exactly what to play to keep my guests mingling when they should have been and dancing their butts off when they should have been. My 80 year old nana even made her way to the dancefloor. If you are looking for a great DJ company, that not only knows their stuff and is very fairly priced, than look no further. PS: I came out of my bridal room for the first time that evening, overwhelmed by the amount of guests that I would have to begin my hellos to, but Mike was there with a glass of red wine to remind me that "I got this". I am forever grateful to Mike, Eric, and the team. xo

g the entire night. I trusted him completely and he came through ensuring our wedding was a night to remember. I cannot thank or recommend him enough- he is amazing!!!

reception, and he did not disappoint. He also delivered on all the special song requests we had. As the MC, he did an amazing job keeping the crowd engaged in the event and aware of what was coming up next. Numerous guests told us how much they loved the music, and nobody wanted to stop dancing at the end of the night. I would definitely use them again for any other event, and am so happy that they helped make my wedding day special!

e to come to our home to meet with us. That was so great! Music really matters to us, and Steve answered all our questions. We got to know him during the planning process, which made it really easy to have him there with us at the wedding. He also helped us with a sound system for our outdoor wedding, a violinist, and a photo booth. The planning was easy, but the wedding day was even better!! Our wedding was on a hot afternoon in July, and Steve kept everyone on the dance floor all afternoon. I have no idea how he was able to do that. It was an excellent party, and everyone had a great time. Thanks, Steve!

time.

, and my groom and I barely left the dance floor. His suggestions for lighting were spot-on and we received so many compliments on his performance from our guests. Everyone had a blast!

bridal party and I to walk down the aisle to but I wasn't sure what to pick aside from my own music so Eric picked it for me as well as some other songs during our reception (cake cutting, bouquet toss) What a relief it was to not have to go crazy over some of these songs and to be pleasantly surprised to not hear all the same songs you feel like you hear at every wedding. My husband and I heard all the songs that we special requested and left the rest to the DJ. Our guests danced the night away, there was a great mix of music for all ages. My husband and I couldn't be happier with our decision.

him and had answers for me with in 24 hours. We ordered something called a "Step and Repeat" which is the red carpet with a huge wedding backdrop (think like a celebrity awards show) i told him where, when, how and he made it all happen! My parents hired him for my bat mitzvah 15 years ago, mys SIL had him at her wedding and we were thrilled we hired him for ours!! We will hire him for our childrens events as well!! KEEP IT UP ERIC!!

you will have a party that all your guests will enjoy!! I am still getting compliments on the music!! The only restrictions I gave were no country no house(club) music and the only line dance allowed was the cha cha slide. If a song got alot of requests no matter what he should play it. Unfortunately the electric slide and the conga line were requested by my dad and MIL along with their friends so he had to cave and play them, but the guests wanted it so it was fine by me!! (he did announce "to the dismay of the bride here is the electric slide!! which made me laugh!) They were awesome in everyway and to me this is where quality counts and tehy have an abundance of it!

ne was dancing the whole night long. He played music for everyone and that sometimes is a hard feat.

oubting him. We danced the whole time as well as the majority of our guests. They were just awesome!!! Thanks guys!!
