About this vendor
Bonjour! My name is Sophie Cazottes and I'm a portrait and wedding photographer who adores her job.
I'm from Paris originally, but fell in love with a Chicago guy and decided to leave everything behind for my American love & dream.
I've worked as a photographer since 2013 doing different gigs in the photography industry until I discovered the wedding world in 2014. I found it to be the perfect balance between journalism, portrait, beauty and fashion. I immediately loved it and have never looked back. I started my own company in 2018 and I am so proud to have photographed many stunning weddings over the years.
I am now a French and American citizen. Culture and traditions are so important to me. I am very lucky to be evolving with the customs of two different countries and to raise my daughter as a dual citizen as well. Weddings are the best time and place to empower cultural traditions and to gather people that come from so many different backgrounds and countries.
My photography approach is to capture who you are and the raw emotion of your day: the tears, the nervousness, the giggles, the excitement. But to also take time during the portrait session to guide you to create beautiful and timeless images of you both. And the most important part - I want you to have fun and enjoy the day while taking photos because I'll be with you throughout it all :-)
If you like what you read, let's get in touch! I'd love to hear more about you and start chatting about wedding plans. Cheers!

d. She will take your vision and run with it, to make everything as perfect as possible. I truthfully wish I could give more than 5 stars.
What truly set Sophie apart for us was her work, I knew as soon as I saw the photos she had captured for previous weddings, I had to book her! She asked us where we were touring venues and shared examples of weddings she had shot at several places on our list, complete with galleries that matched. This familiarity not only showcased her expertise but also helped ease my decision-making process. Truthfully, after my initial conversation, I did not feel the need to keep evaluating photographers. My husband however, made my take 1 more call to compare and I knew within minutes Sophie was still going to be our girl!
Sophie was very timely in her follow-up after our venue tours, providing us with several different packages and thoughtful recommendations for our ideal timeline. She suggested great photo spots beforehand and made sure we had enough coverage time based on the start time of our ceremony. Her organization was exceptional, making the planning process smooth and stress-free.
She took the time to get to know us before the big day, making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. Her friendly demeanor helped ease any nerves, and we truly enjoyed every minute of not only our engagement shoot, but also our whole wedding day.
On our wedding day, Sophie was a calming presence, blending into the background while capturing the most beautiful candid moments. The photos are absolutely stunning—each one tells a story and perfectly reflects the joy and love we felt that day.
We received our photo gallery promptly, and we were blown away by the quality and creativity of her work.
We can’t recommend Sophie enough! Thank you, Sophie, for making our wedding day so special and for providing us with the most amazing photos to look back on forever

Not only was Sophie able to accommodate this change she also worked with us to make sure we got every aspect of our new wedding captured. She captured us & our day in the most genuine & natural way possible and her photos continue to give me chills. Not only is she an incredibly talented photographer, she is an extremely kind, patient and thoughtful person. We had numerous friends and family members remark on how wonderful and efficient Sophie was on our day. It would be a mistake not to book her for your day. We love you, Sophie!
5 stars is not enough to express how great Sophie is! From the beginning of the process, she was helpful, reasonable, affordable, and very communicative. She listened to what our v...
ision was and MADE IT HAPPEN. Her and her assistant Esther captured every detail of our day beautifully and were very good at balancing us between direction and candid moments. I also love the final natural and bright finish of the final photos. I can't say enough about how kind and fun she was to work with as well. She sent me a huge sneak peek days after the wedding, and the full (MASSIVE) gallery quickly as well. Cannot thank her enough. If you've made it this far, don't even question it -- EMAIL HER!

We will forever treasure the work that she did for our wedding day, and couldn't recommend her enough to other couples!

everything feel fun, easy, and stress free. Leading up to our wedding day, Sophie was very on top of things and listened to all our requests. It was just easy with Sophie around. My bridesmaids and groomsmen all raved about Sophie! Lastly, we received the most stunning photos of our day that captured it perfectly. Each picture is more beautiful then the next. Sophie is amazing. 10/10 recommend!

hen we had to postpone our Sept 2020 wedding to June 2021 she was incredibly gracious and accommodating and made a very difficult decision feel less stressful. She made us feel like she was in our corner and she really was!
Sophie was DELIGHTFUL on our wedding day. She was friendly, instructive, excited, organized, and everywhere! She captured our day perfectly. Our family is still talking about her kindness and great direction. She was amazing!
The wedding was a beautiful whirlwind and it does go by so fast (but in the best way). When we got our pictures from Sophie we were able to look back on that day and re-live those special moments. We have looked at them again and again, finding infiniteness in each capture. Sophie gave us that gift- the gift of memories that will last a lifetime. One of our favorite things about Sophie’s captures is we are able to see our wedding breathing on its own while we were busy doing bride and groom things- conversations between our friends, laughter shared with family, the flowers sitting delicately in their vases, the warm glow of the candles on the tables, different vantage points of our first dance, and just the overall energy of such a special day. She got it all.
We are so thankful for Sophie’s eye for detail, heart for what she does, and who she is as a person. Thank you, Sophie!
When I began my search for a wedding photographer and came across Sophie’s website, I was so taken with the beauty of her photos that she immediately became one of my top choices. ...
After I reached out to her I knew right away I wanted to hire her. She was very responsive, organized and personable and I could really sense her passion for her job. We quickly hired her to take our engagement and wedding photos. For our engagement photos we wanted pictures along the river walk. She picked all the best spots to provide beautiful backdrops for our photos. She also made us feel very at ease with getting professional photos done. The pictures turned out gorgeous and we were so happy with them! On our wedding day, Sophie did a fantastic job. She has a great eye and captured so many special moments from our big day. And even though it was raining, it did not stop her from taking gorgeous photos all around our venue. We now have so many beautiful photos to cherish. Sophie is so talented that our pictures are more than just photos - they are works of art. I would recommend Sophie to anyone who not only wants gorgeous photos but also wants a photographer who always prompt, responsive, organized and easy to work with!

ttentive and informative, and she took the time to listen to our story. We ended up doing the first part of our shoot at the local dive bar where my fiancé and I met, and Sophie's artistic and creative vision turned it into the most picturesque and intimate setting. She captured such genuine moments and made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. Our photos turned out absolutely stunning! We cannot thank Sophie enough!!

We found Sophie at a friend's wedding. Their photographs for the event were gorgeous and Sophie had stopped us during the cocktail hour for a couple's portrait that came out great....
So, she was a definite pick for us when it came to planning our wedding.
We booked with her in the fall of 2019, and through the entirety of Covid uncertainty she remained in touch and adaptive with us as we navigated all of the changes the pandemic brought around.
And she was incredible to work with on the day of. Organized, patient, creative, and just as excited as we were. She made us feel comfortable and made sure every detail in the pictures was thought of and attended to.
We honestly can't recommend Sophie highly enough. It's rare to find genuine, kind people who excel at what they do. But Sophie is one of them. She delivered fantastic photos and helped make the process of capturing those moments easy and fun. We loved having her around for the wedding day!

ngagement pictures and made us feel incredibly comfortable, even though we aren't exactly naturals in front of the camera ha. She made us laugh and had a great sense of humor! We postponed our wedding due to COVID and she was supportive and understanding throughout it all. On the wedding day she was so calm and came up with a terrific plan for pictures when the rain messed up our original plan. She took charge and made sure that we took pictures in multiple locations with many different ideas and poses. She was encouraging, asked us how we're doing, and had terrific tips. We also have a huge family that wasn't easy to get together, but she calmly organized it so we got all the shots we wanted. We really appreciate that Sophie sent the preview pictures, reel, and free video by noon the day after our wedding! We absolutely love the pictures in the preview and can't wait to see the rest! I would recommend her to everyone I know!

ng due to COVID Sophie was supportive and understanding, working with us seamlessly to finalize a new date. Sophie took time to outline what to expect, discuss timelines, and offered great ideas about locations. On the day of the wedding Sophie made the whole process fun and stress-free. The photos we took before the ceremony with our small group are some of our favorite memories from the entire day. Everyone in the bridal party commented on how relaxed and enjoyable everything was. The actual photos themselves are stunning and Sophie gave us so many to choose from. Overall we couldn’t be happier! Thank you so much Sophie!!

calm & organized demeanor in action and the beautiful end result was such a blessing! She not only stuck with us through postponing our original wedding due to Covid, but also switching locations and states. She was so supportive, caring, communicative, flexible, and fair. I couldn't appreciate her more leading up to the big day. The big day, FINALLY, came and Sophie was there from the start with all smiles and beautiful shots. Capturing everything in such a non-intrusive and natural way. She was so quick with the turnaround of the photos. All of which had me, my family, and friends in awe. Love you Sophie! Cannot wait for all of the vino and photos to come!

o took time to hop on the phone with me and walk me through how she does things, shared a TON of her work with me, and outlined what I would expect, etc. When the pandemic hit, she was patient with us to schedule our engagement shoot, and it was worth the wait! She was prepared, knew amazing locations, and made us feel so comfortable and confident in front of the camera. We just received our wedding sneak peek photos and I am in LOVE! She has such an eye to capture the big and little moments. Highly recommend Sophie!!

y due to Covid-19, our initially planned wedding was cancelled, and she was incredibly supportive and flexible with our needs, even offering to return our deposit (which many other vendors were not willing to do). Ultimately, we opted for a small intimate wedding via zoom, and Sophie took pictures for us before and during the ceremony. Not only did she take amazing photos (I can't stop looking at them!), but she also went above and beyond, and helped me lay out the room to set the stage for the zoom wedding, which was certainly not in her job description. She doubled as a mini-wedding planner! I highly recommend Sophie without any reservations, and I will certainly be using her again for future events.

ng about how easygoing she made everything. When we received our photos we could not stop looking at them! ible. She took time to meet us at our venue for the final walk through to familiarize herself with it, even though that wasn't in her contract and remained flexible when we had last minute timeline changes due to rain (and going so far as providing various ideas for rain contingency photo location ideas, herself). Then, on the wedding day, she was punctual, discrete and kind. She remained calm despite unpleasant weather and slight traffic delays and captured many stunning photos - both of the ceremony/reception space and of candid special moments shared between us and with our guests. Her second shooter was also great and worked well with the guys. We will treasure our photos forever!
I don't have enough good things to say about Sophie - we love her so much! There are honestly so many choices out there for photographers, and I cannot stress enough how glad I am...
that we chose her! When choosing wedding vendors, the photographer was the most important to me, so I did endless amounts of research. So far, she has done our engagement shoot, our wedding photos and even an adorable shoot for our new puppy - all in which she was so professional and amazing and we couldn't be happier with the photos. She is so passionate about her work and has such an artistic eye to capture the most beautiful moments. During all the shoots, I felt at complete ease with her and so comfortable. She really took control when we had a large wedding party of 18 including my husband and me. She was able to get everyone's attention and give such great direction to get all the best shots even though wedding days can be super hectic! Everyone in the wedding party loved her as well! I knew I could completely trust her, so I was able to just relax and trust her vision. She is such a sweetheart - if you are trying to find a photographer, look no further!

Now the challenging part will be narrowing down our photo selections to decide which ones to print! Thank you Sophie!

got married on one of the rainiest days on record here in Chicago and were unable to take the majority of photos we had outlined, but it didn't phase her at all; she captured the most beautiful moments throughout the day and into the night, and went above and beyond delivering a mix of candids, portraits, and details. It truly felt as if we had planned to be inside from the beginning. We are so grateful to Sophie for capturing the moments we will cherish for the rest of our lives!
