I booked Simply Serene for wedding hair and makeup. I went for my trial and found that the artist was contracted out, not an employee of the salon. Molly rushed my trial, I had ask...
ed to change a few things with my hair but she said “we’ll just do that day of”. The makeup aged me, it was not the look I asked for. The hair style was very basic and something I could have easily done at home, it was not bridal, not formal at all. Because I had so few options in Boerne where I was getting married I kept the vendor booked. I reached out to the salon to confirm my wedding date and had no response. I tried to call and email but the receptionist kept saying the owner would call me back but she never did. 60 days before the wedding, I didn’t hear anything so I cancelled via phone and email. After that, the owner finally called me to ask why and said she doesn’t confirm dates until 30 days out. With trying to coordinate between so many vendors, I didn’t appreciate the lack of communication and attitude from the owner and was much more satisfied with the other HAMU team I hired Kendra Kay Beauty.
I could not have asked for a better glam squad for our wedding day. From the makeup artist giving all the girls under eye masks, to the touch ups to ensure everyone was happy with ...
their hair and makeup, I loved every second of sitting in the chair and knew wholeheartedly that these girls would make sure every single bridesmaid, mom, and I were taken care of. They were all so sweet and so helpful!!
I had a trial run and wedding day hair (half up/down) done by Kayla. The style turned out great and her fake eyelash application was perfect. I really appreciated that the salon ...
would take me in on a Saturday for bride's hair only (I did not bring any bridesmaids.) Everyone at Simply Serene was really nice, and it was a relaxing experience.
The ladies at Simply Serene were wonderful! They did hair for my bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law, as well as my hair and makeup. The team was very professional, and tried th...
eir hardest to make our visions come to life.
Would definitely recommend this salon if you are getting married in the hill country area!
I was recently in a wedding in Boerne and the bride booked Simply Serene to do the wedding party's hair and makeup. The hair stylist, Kayla, was clearly uncomfortable with my short...
hair and the style I wanted. Rather than telling me this, she gave me an awful updo. My hair looked frizzy and untamed.
The day after, I contacted the salon to let them know about the issue. I believe in supporting small businesses and allowing them to correct an error that occurs. Two days later, the manager, Brenda, talked to me and told me this was all my fault. She said I should have jumped in front of the other seven people and had the other stylist do my hair. She was unwilling to accept the photos that I wanted to send her of the style I wanted versus what I got. She told me that Boerne is the highest end beauty market it Texas, even more exclusive than Dallas and Houston. She was condescending and rude--cutting me off multiple times in our conversation.
As someone who relies heavily on reviews for service providers I would say buyer beware! When I attempted to post this review to Simply Serene's Facebook page, I was blocked (photo below). I didn't know that that could happen. In addition to posting this here, I'll also contact several of the wedding sites, the chamber of commerce and the Better Business Bureau to let them know what a crooked business this is.
I never mind paying a lot for a great service, but this salon is simply not worth it.
I can't say enough about how great Breanna was! She did my trial run hair and makeup and everything for the big day. To say I was having a stressful wedding day is the understateme...
nt of the century. She helped calm me down, made me eat, and managed to give me beautiful hair and makeup, all while I was shaking like a leaf! Thank you SO MUCH to the ladies of Simply Serene. I highly recommend this salon for your big day!
Simply Serene was fabulous! My initial hair stylist cancelled with 1 month until the wedding and simply serene came to the rescue. They had girls come out to do both hair and makeu...
p and it looked amazing! The makeup was very natural but highlighted our best features and lasted ALL night. Same thing with the hair styles. We did updoes because of the humidity and they held all night long, even with a lot of dancing. Even though the salon is in Boerne, this might be my new salon. I was so happy with the service and the result. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I felt so beautiful on my wedding day. The first time I got married I did my own hair and make-up. This time I decided to have someone do it for me. I looked around and found th...
