First, all of the staff were fantastic and professional. I have zero complaints about that. Otherwise, several aspects of the service were extremely lacking in quality and normal...

standards that I am embarrassed. I absolutely regret booking with Simply Fresh and cannot recommend them. If you do book with them or have already, please ensure your planner is keeping close tabs. Here is a rundown of what went wrong: The plates of beef tenderloin served to me and my husband were overcooked and tough, I literally spit mine out. Multiple family members received similar plates or complained that the option was extremely rare in the middle or overcooked and chewy. Every table including the head table was served burnt rolls to the point that most were hard as rocks, couldn’t be eaten and were completely charred black. Family members asked for new rolls only to be told there weren’t any left. They shouldnt have been placed on the tables at all. The bar also served multiple guests wine with ice in it. Both white and red wine. I am embarrassed by this and I have no idea how this could be justified by any professional bar service. Red wine with ice (and it wasn’t sangria)?!? This lowered the quality of my wedding and I am mortified. This was advertised as a dinner with stations, not a buffet. The timeline for meal service took so long I had to flag our planner to ask her to see if she could speed things up. Our last table ate 45 minutes after the head table. While service may have been on time based on Simply Fresh’s timeline, for a wedding with 60 guests, it’s unacceptable that people were hungry and waiting for food. Their experience was not great and again I’m so embarrassed. Another quality of service issue: Vendor meals were served to staff before members of my family were served. To be very clear I have no issue with staff taking a break to eat dinner or being provided dinner. I have zero issue with staff being seen eating. But it’s unacceptable that members of my family who were hungry saw staff being served and eating before they were. Again I am so embarrassed. Our late night snack of hotdogs and French fries was served cold without any condiments. No mustard, no ketchup. Tables also didn’t have salt and pepper shakers, or at least family members couldn’t find them. Again, all of this seriously lowered the quality of my wedding and I am trying not to freak out, but I am so upset and disappointed.

iver on the big day too. Buffy and her team made us feel special from the jump and Maya was our amazing coordinator throughout the entire process. From the food to all our needed and desired rentals, Simply Fresh had everything we needed and had all the options for us to bring our vision to life. Our guests had a variety of dietary preferences and restrictions, and Simply Fresh had a delectable menu option for everyone, from meat eaters to pescatarians, to gluten-free, to SUCH good vegan options. We recommend Simply Fresh without hesitation for your special day!

We cannot recommend Simply Fresh Events enough! From the very start, the planning process was seamless thanks to Jocelyn. She was professional, organized, and truly helped us craft...

the ideal menu for our vision. The level of service on the day of the wedding was also extraordinary. Lexi, our head server, led an incredibly attentive and professional team. We received numerous compliments from our guests about how quickly they were served and how proactive the staff was throughout the evening. And, of course, the food was amazing! The food exceeded our expectations and our guests are still raving about how delicious everything was. What truly sets Simply Fresh Events apart is that they are genuinely full-service, allowing us to choose our own unique menu items and drinks without being limited to a set list. This level of customization and care, combined with top-tier food and service, made them one of the best vendor choices we made. Thank you, Simply Fresh!

I want to start this review by saying that the food from Simply Fresh was great, and all of my guests enjoyed it. My concerns, however, lie with their poor communication, lack of t...

ransparency, and dismissive responses when issues arose. Simply Fresh is a preferred vendor at my venue, yet they failed to communicate key details between their proposal and my venue’s requirements. Less than two months before my wedding, they informed me that we would need to pay additional charges because their proposal covered only five hours of service instead of six. This was never clearly communicated upfront. To their credit, after discussion, they waived the charge and only required additional payment for labor. However, discovering an unexpected cost so close to my wedding added unnecessary stress. Another issue arose regarding tipping. A month before my wedding, I confirmed with Simply Fresh that their bartenders would not put out a tip jar, as I planned to leave a gratuity myself. I was assured this was against their policy. Despite this, on the day of my wedding, I saw a tip jar out during the reception and had to personally ask the bartenders to remove it. When I brought this concern to Simply Fresh afterward, my frustrations were dismissed rather than addressed professionally. The most serious issue, however, was their handling of food allergies. A member of my bridal party has a peanut allergy, and I expected Simply Fresh to communicate clearly about their ability—or inability—to accommodate this safely. Unfortunately, no such communication was provided in advance. It was only halfway through my reception that I was informed they could not guarantee a peanut-free meal without cross-contamination. Had I known this earlier, I would have made other arrangements to ensure my bridesmaid had something safe to eat. Their lack of proactive communication on such a serious matter was disappointing and unacceptable. While Simply Fresh delivers great food, their approach to customer service and communication leaves much to be desired. Couples considering them for their wedding should be prepared to double-check every detail, confirm policies multiple times, and seek alternative solutions if food allergies are a concern.

Simply Fresh was great to work with all the way through the process. They gave lots of helpful feedback when developing a buffet menu, specifically about which types of food would ...

be best for a buffet. They were also very honest about their pricing, even including when it would be more economical to use another company for certain items. Communication was usually prompt but always adequate from first contact to the end of the wedding. The food itself got lots of compliments from our guests.

: Simply Fresh made rentals easy, we were able to go to the warehouse to see different chairs, linens, table settings, etc. to see how they would all come together on the wedding day. We were able to spend as much time as we needed and never felt rushed while making decisions. Everything was perfect on the day of the wedding! Catering: Simply Fresh's food is amazing! The food at the tasting and day of the wedding was some of the best food I have ever eaten. They were very accommodating for allergies of individual guests. For our signature drink, I wanted guests to have the option of regular and spicy margaritas and Simply Fresh was able to make it happen! Wedding Planning: We could not have asked for a better wedding planner than Hillary Clagett! Hillary made wedding planning easy each step of the way. She was in constant communication with me and our other vendors. Whenever I had a question, big or small, she got back to me promptly. On the day of, she made sure everything went smoothly and looked amazing. We can't thank her enough for making our wedding perfect. We strongly recommend Simply Fresh!

lary, who was AMAZING! Hillary made the process painless, fun and efficient resulting in a well-executed beautiful memory for all. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The guidance we received was invaluable. We especially appreciated that Hillary coordinated all the vendors and set a well-executed time-line. We did not have to worry about a thing! Hillary ensured the bride and groom had time to eat, enjoy their guests, get pictures and enjoy moments alone in their venue and not miss a moment. When concerns arose in the planning stages, Hillary and her team creatively solved the problems and left us feeling confident and happy. The support staff was incredible to work with. Every member of the team we encountered was personable, polite, positive and helpful. We don’t have a single regret…how often can you say that?

Simply Fresh did an outstanding job hosting both our rehearsal dinner and wedding in North Bethesda. They were courteous, detailed, kind, and efficient. They went the extra mile to...

find multiple options for allergy and dietary needs, including an entire ice cream cart full of nut-free ice cream novelties. I loved the custom fajita bar for our rehearsal dinner, and the chipotle chicken quesadillas and watermelon pops were a hit. Everyone raved about the grazing table, custom cocktails, tiramisu shooters, and our main dish at the wedding. They even used a customized family recipe for the slaw on our sliders! Hillary was especially wonderful as our coordinator, who kept us right on track on the day and anticipated every problem. She maintained the balance of humor, order, and fun to make our day incredibly stress free.

helpful, communicative - the list goes on and on! We worked with Buffy at the start - and she was so helpful and patient with us trying to finalize our proposal/contract. Later for the day of, we worked with Hillary and she was spectacular! Both were so easy to work with and helped our wedding be stress-free. The food was INCREDIBLE! We got married 6 months ago and we still have people complimenting our food. The menu was completely customizable so you could have it be whatever you wanted. The portions were huge and left people feeling full and happy at the end of dinner. Plus we got to take all leftover food back to the hotel with us! All in all it was a 10000/10 experience! We could not recommend them enough to anyone looking for a caterer!

We used Simply Fresh Events for our wedding on 9/17/22 and they were AMAZING. We started with a tasting and met Geoff who is one of the owners. He was super nice and you could tell...

he is extremely experienced and the whole company is so organized from top to bottom. The food was awesome and they will customize your menu any way you want. They also cook everything on site which is amazing. They are pretty much a one stop shop and can handle an event pretty much anywhere. We had our wedding on our family farm and it was about 160 people. There is no water or electricity on site where we wanted to have the wedding. They not only provided the delicious food but also handled the tent, restroom trailer, generators, water, all rentals (tables, chair linens, etc.) and the full bar! Every staff member was super nice and the whole thing flowed so smoothly. They also give you the option to add wedding planning services and they assign you a planner who also is your day of coordinator. Christa was our planner/coordinator and she was incredible. She was beyond helpful and to get ready and she came out to the farm twice before the wedding and to the rehearsal to make sure everything was going to be perfect. The day of, she had everything under control and pretty much told me to not worry about anything and that she had it covered. It could not have been more true. She's also super nice and fun to work with and was a huge part of making our experience so great. We felt there was so much added value in their services because there are so many less people you have to coordinate with since handle pretty much everything. We highly recommend Simply Fresh to anyone!

Our wedding was at Glen Echo Park which offers a list of a dozen or so approved caterers. We started reviewing them as soon as we had our date locked in and Simply Fresh quickly be...

came the top pick. The process started very smoothly. The sales team worked with us to understand our vision for a fun, whimsical, summery menu, and one that would be cool and refreshing since our event was outdoors in August. After we signed the contract, we were transferred to our event contact, who led us through the tasting and helped us pick linens, tables and other rental items. She also went above and beyond to help us source a regional beer that wasn’t usually in the offering. Unfortunately, she left the company around the time of the walkthrough. One of the company’s execs led us through the walkthrough and offered great suggestions before transitioning to our new contact. That handoff was, unfortunately, not smooth. We’re not sure if the walkthrough notes weren’t reviewed or if something else happened, but our new contact didn’t seem to have a lot of the information we’d captured earlier in the process. She was also unresponsive to multiple requests for the same materials, which ended up creating a bit of a time crunch as the wedding approached. When we got the leadership team’s attention and got them on a call, the situation and communication improved, but it took a lot more time and effort than it needed to to get back on track. Day of, the team was awesome, as was the food, and I expect that most of the specific issues we encountered were related to the staff change rather than indicative of a larger problem at Simply Fresh; however, the experience did reveal that there are some gaps in their communications process, both in the contracting phase and between staff members. We’d still happily consider hiring them for a future event, but we’d ask different questions from the outset.

I cannot speak highly enough of Simply Fresh Events! We found them actually by accident when touring venues. After we chose our venue, we realized that Simply Fresh had also work...

ed at this venue. They were extremely accommodating since my daughter had to change their tasting a few times due to her husband's demanding and changing work schedule. Geoff made it happen though! Then we had Jocelyn as our day of coordinator. She is the epitome of CALM and helped us so much. My daughter knew exactly what she wanted and Jocelyn made it come true. Even on the day of when I presented Jocelyn with a computer with a slideshow I had created, she knew what to do within minutes! Simply Fresh also helped with our florals. It was so convenient dealing with just Jocelyn for most of our needs. When asked about the day of, I just couldn't have been happier. No nerves at all! Everyone did their job to perfection. I had no worries and could enjoy the day with my family and friends and my beautiful daughter and her new husband. Did I mention the food was to die for??!! I just could not recommend Geoff and Jocelyn and their entire team more highly.

imperative. We went to about five catering tastings, and Simply Fresh Events blew everyone else out of the water! Not only was the food by Chef Katie delicious, Buffy, Katie and Nicole, our event planner, were so welcoming and informative, answering any and all questions we had. They made the decision incredibly easy! When we made the decision to postpone our October 2020 wedding, Nicole was supportive every step of the way and talked us through the decision, offering any input and advice she could. Nicole and the Simply Fresh Events team worked quickly with us to secure a new date and made a seemingly daunting decision much less stressful. Throughout our wedding planning experience, Nicole was there for anything we needed. Her knowledge, advice, and calm reassurance was indispensable to us. I think we said, "I don't know what we'd do without Nicole," over 100 times in the months leading to our October 2021 wedding! Every step of the way, from months out through the reception, Nicole went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect. We also ended up using Simply Fresh Events for our wedding cake and receptions florals, both of which turned out amazing! Chef Katie's food at our wedding was just as delicious as I remembered from our tasting (over a year and a half before our postponed wedding). We received many compliments on the cocktail hour menu and the plated dinner! Overall, from our experience, Simply Fresh Events knows the wedding, event and catering industry inside and out, and are experts in their field. Just as importantly, the people that make up Simply Fresh Events are kind, fun, passionate, want the best for their clients, and will do whatever they can to make that happen. I am so grateful to Simply Fresh Events and their team, and can't recommend them more!

t wedding we were hoping for amidst the craziness! All wedding vendors are overwhelmed right probably twice or three times the amount of weddings this year they usually do but it always felt like Simply Fresh was there for every question and change I wanted to make. Our guests loved the food. Everything was so delicious. Jocelyn was our wedding coordinator and I cannot thank her enough. She is so knowledgeable and brings up great ideas that I would’ve never though about! Without her I would’ve been lost. Her and Simply Fresh made my wedding beautiful and exactly what I wanted with me just telling them simple things of how I viewed my wedding. It’s like they read my mind without even reading it! Any little inconvenience, Jocelyn was there with a solution. I would highly recommend using them for your wedding. They are a company who knows exactly what they are doing and they will give you and your guest the best day ever. I can’t say thank you enough to Jocelyn and Simply Fresh. I am so grateful for everything they did!

Simply Fresh Events and Catering was amazing to work with. With an October wedding, by fiancé and I wanted a seasonal menu that was tasteful and elegant. They developed just that! ...

During our tasting, they were very receptive to our notes on each part of the meal. The chef herself came out to hear our thoughts and take notes. The food was already incredible and we had really minor request to make for the wedding day. Day of, the catering staff was very polite, professional, and courteous. Lexi was absolutely amazing making sure everything was where it needed to be and food was ready on time. She even brought cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres out to the wedding party while they were waiting for pictures. It was clear Simply Fresh had taken our notes seriously and made those changes for the day of. The food and service were both phenomenal. I would definitely recommend them to anyone planning a wedding around the DMV.

at was one thing I did not want for our wedding. From the very beginning, they were awesome to work with and very responsive! Buffy and Katie understood exactly what we wanted for our wedding and made our vision come to life. We went with a stations style menu, and it worked out perfectly! Jocelyn, the event manager who helped with our wedding, was great! The food was DELICIOUS!! We had so many guests compliment the food, especially the scallops and tenderloin, everything was seriously to die for! On top of the amazing food, their staff was so attentive and all of our guests were so well taken care of. The bartenders were rockstars and no one was left without a drink in their hand throughout the whole night. Thank you Simply Fresh for helping make our big day so special and delicious!

or a June 2020 wedding. We were wowed by the Simply Fresh team during our initial tasting- not just by how incredible the food tasted, but also how friendly and personable the staff were. They made us feel welcome and at home at their office/kitchen, which made the decision to choose them so much easier. Like many couples, we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID not once, but twice. Simply Fresh was extremely flexible with us through both postponements, and made it easy for us to addend the contract for new dates due to the pandemic. Knowing that they had our best interests in mind assured us that we made the right choice in choosing their services for our wedding. On our wedding day, the Simply Fresh team went above and beyond in making sure our day was as perfect as we hoped it would be. Christa and Hillary, the two coordinators on site on the day of, were extremely attentive to us and our guests. The food was incredible. The signature cocktails turned out wonderful. We can’t thank the entire Simply Fresh team enough for being so flexible with us throughout the entire wedding planning saga and for delivering our dream wedding. We would definitely recommend their services!

m to us (hugely reassuring!). Then, when it came time for our tasting - wow. This was one of the favorite planning moments of the entire wedding planning process! The team went out of their way to take care of us and show us such warm hospitality. At our wedding, my bridal suite was above the reception hall and I had a view into the hall as it was being made ready by the SFE team for the evening. It is one of my favorite memories of the day - seeing the group come together (while singing and dancing!) to turn line items into reality. The presentation and quality of the food at our wedding was both elegant and delicious. We got so many compliments on our food and how fresh it was (always a concern with mass production!). Our one critique is that we selected boutique wine glasses for our guest tables and table side wine service for our guests, but table side service was missing and thus the wine glasses went unused.

le we didn't ultimately chose that venue for our wedding, we really liked Geoff for how straight-forward and honest he was during the tour. We scheduled our tasting and got to meet the rest of the team. The food was excellent and creative (we've gotten consistent feedback from our guests regarding flavor and the innovative menu), and we were introduced to Nicole who was our main POC for the next 10 months as our coordinator. Nicole was knowledgeable, honest, easy to get in touch with, and professional. As you can imagine, with the COVID pandemic throwing a curveball into our planning, this could have been a nightmare experience, but Simply Fresh was flexible and prepared to help guide us through the process while keeping our guests safety top of mind. They were prepared to present to us their suggestions for how to decrease touch points while still providing excellent food and service. For the day of the wedding, the staff was incredible and functioned like a well oiled machine with Nicole at the helm. I'm not sure how she could be in so many places at once, but Nicole always available throughout the night, and it was so nice to know that the timeline was being taken care of by such a capable team. We were truly able to enjoy our night without having to make sure the other vendors remained on schedule as Nicole and team took care of everything according to the timeline we had agreed to. While so many little things can go wrong during a wedding, I can honestly say that the night essentially went off without a hitch thanks to the Nicole's management and coordination with the other vendors and the venue. We are 100% planning on using Simply Fresh again for any of our catering needs in the future, and couldn't be more pleased with our experience.

It felt like their big focus was making our wedding day as easy for us as possible, and that attention and dedication was evident. Highly recommend.

When one of our guests indicated some dietary restrictions, the team followed up with her directly to make sure that she got to enjoy a great meal as well. The catering staff were polite, courteous and professional, and all of our guests were raving about how great the food was! Simply Fresh played a major role in making our wedding a perfect day, and if you're looking for a great one-stop shop for food and event management, they're a great choice! If I ever plan another event as complex as a wedding, I'd definitely contact them again!

The food was absolutely delicious and unlike most brides & grooms, we were actually able to eat as Nicole made sure to have our meals plated and served to us while the rest of the guests were in the buffet line. If you are looking for a caterer that will go above and beyond to make your wildest wedding dreams come true, Simply Fresh Events is the one for you.
