We reached out to Paul in September of 2025 to book videography services for our August 2026 wedding. We were fans of his prior work and eagerly placed a deposit as a date retainer...
without a contract signed. Paul told us we could sign a contract with him once we decided what package we wanted.
I reached out to Paul on October 31st with the details to finalize our package and get under contract and received no response.
I again reached out to Paul on January 18th requesting to get under contract and received no response.
On February 10th, we made a final attempt to contact Paul with no response and it became clear to us that we were not going to be hearing from him. We respectfully informed him we’d be moving forward with another videographer. We understood that this meant we may lose our deposit but at that point, it was more important to us to hire someone we could actually reach to ensure we would have a videographer on the day of our wedding. Again, no response from Paul or any attempt to reconcile with us.
After our wedding I reached out to Paul again asking if he would consider refunding our deposit as we were never able to reach him after providing him our initial payment. Much to my surprise, he responded almost immediately saying he would have loved to fulfill the agreement and would not be refunding us since we “terminated the agreement.” He also mentioned that he turned down “three projects” for people who had inquired about services on our date. I reiterated that our singular reason for not moving forward was because we could not reach him (why would I hire, pay, and repeatedly try to get under contract with someone I didn’t want or intend to work with?) I asked for some clarity as to why we never heard from Paul over those many months despite multiple attempts to contact him. Again, no response.
I will simply say that I find it odd that a vendor would actively decline projects while simultaneously neglecting to respond to the paying clients he is declining those projects for.
I understand we will not be getting our deposit back, and that is fine. However, I’d like to make very clear that we worked with many vendors throughout this process and never had an issue contacting anyone but ShoFilms. In my opinion, the total lack of communication (for us, nearly 6 months) is unacceptable, especially after having placed a large deposit for that service. In my opinion, there are far too many talented, responsive, and reputable videographers in Pittsburgh to even consider taking a risk with this company.
Everything was lovely and friendly and exciting until I sent ShoFilms the final deposit (totaling ~$6,000) and it all went down hill from there
Leading up to our wedding-
I emaile...
d and called Paul multiple times to confirm the wedding day timeline with no response. I informed my photographer who then posted on the Elizabeth Forward Facebook page asking if anyone knew of the wellbeing of Paul because she was shooting a wedding with him but hadn’t heard from him. He of course immediately responded to me and asked photographer to remove the post. I assumed he was busy, no hard feelings, and moved on.
Wedding day-
Paul and his second shooter arrived on time and stayed the duration of the wedding. However, there were many, many times throughout the night where we found ourselves looking around thinking “wow I hope this moment was caught on film” only for the videographers to be nowhere in sight. I understand we’re all human and need breaks and no one can video for a straight 12 hours, but it got to a point where we didn’t even know if the videographers were still at the venue. Turns out that they spent a lot of time relaxing in the bridal lounge with their feet up on the table. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, assumed I caught them in the middle of a break, and didn’t let it ruin our very perfect wedding day :)
Post wedding -
When booking, Paul told me that I would get a teaser video the day after our wedding, a highlight video 3 months after our wedding, and the rest of the videos 6 months after our wedding. As months passed by without receiving any videos, I began calling, emailing, and texting countless times without any replies. On the rare occurrences I did get a response, it was “2 more weeks” and then months would pass without me receiving a damn thing (note the dates in the texts). These screenshots speak for themselves. As we are celebrating our ONE YEAR anniversary, I decided to try one last time with Paul. He FINALLY responded with videos. However, our reception video seemed to have cut off around 6:00PM, even though we had paid for coverage until 9:30PM. I questioned this and he replied that my package was for “up to 12 hours”, (even though it clearly says 12 hours on ShoFilms website, in screenshot photo). I asked him to send me the raw footage because at this point, I would rather have an unedited video than nothing at all. He replied that the raw footage would cost $700. Admittedly I am unfamiliar with what work goes into compiling raw footage, but naive me assumed that after making me not only wait an entire year but also completely ignoring me through the process, he would’ve given them to me for free🤷🏼♀️
Paul and his assistant Chris from ShoFilms were exactly what we were looking for in a wedding videographer. They knew exactly how to interact with us, our bridal party, and our gue...
sts to get a great mix of shots throughout the night. Plus, they were fun to hangout with. They got us a great teaser reel less than a week after our event and, if it's anything to go by, our full wedding video will be incredible. Their editing is top notch and displays a thoughtfulness and creativity-both in video and audio-that was beyond our expectations. We would absolutely recommend working with ShoFilms for your wedding.
Really beautiful work and memories captured on our highlight/teaser video, the 10 min feature, the ceremony, toasts and reception edits. I loved reliving it all while watching thes...
e, and it's so nice to have clips from each part of the day like this. Paul and Chris were really chill and great to work with!

tures can’t. Paul and his team are EXTREMELY talented and also extremely passionate about videography. He is very busy, so it may take him a little while to get back to you, but on your wedding day and when he is making your video, he gives you his undivided attention and creates incredible work. If you want a cinematic masterpiece, book shofilms! Highly recommend!

h future friends and family that captures every part of the day. I watched my wedding highlight film more than a million times the day it was delivered to my email - Paul captured every emotion that filled my heart that day. If you plan on booking Paul, email is the best way to communicate with him! I am so happy with my decision to book Sho Films and look forward to viewing any videos they produce of other weddings.

t video, I knew that if I ever got engaged I would book ShoFilms for my wedding! Fast forward a few years, and sure enough, after the proposal and securing dates with the church/reception venue, ShoFilms was the first vendor I called. I was thrilled to hear that they were available on my date, and after I booked them I recall saying something like, "I don't care who any of our other vendors are - I got ShoFilms!" They certainly didn't disappoint. I was a little nervous because we did not meet with them prior to the wedding day and only had to fill out a short survey, but when the day arrived they were perfectly organized and knew EXACTLY what they were doing. Paul and his team were clear professionals and were a joy to work with. They made us feel very comfortable and natural, and they coordinated well with our photographer, which led to some amazing shots. They delivered the 'teaser' video very quickly after the wedding, and it turned out beautifully. I am so glad that I hired them. Many wedding videos can be cringe-worthy, but that is absolutely not the case with videos by ShoFilms. They make everything look so natural and edit the videos beautifully. I really cannot say enough good things about ShoFilms. THANK YOU!!!

f our beloved Pit bull - he stole the show! They even brought the drone that my husband was so excited about and flew it around us and over the golf course making our Teaser video (which is absolutely amazing) that much better! We cannot wait to get the whole video!! Thank you, ShoFilms for capturing our memories on our perfect day!
Paul and Casey with ShoFilms were AMAZING!! The entire process was a blast and we are beyond thrilled with our videos. You HAVE to book ShoFilms for your wedding!!

LY recommend a package that includes a next day teaser. It was SO fun to wake up the day after our wedding to such an awesome recap of our love story.
I am a creative by trade and a bit of a micromanager. I don't think I could hand the reigns over to anyone else BUT Paul and his team.
Shofilms were both professional and FUN on our wedding day and made us feel super comfortable.
We are SO in love with our wedding feature and we will cherish these memories forever.
Future brides, secure ShoFilms FAST, you won't regret it!
There are no words for Shofilms other than PERFECT. The team is professional but also casual enough that we never felt staged or uncomfortable. They befriended our bridal party and...
family and really felt like part of the party by the end of the night. Our videos are incredible and tell our love story- and wedding story- perfectly. I would highly recommend reserving Shofilms for your wedding, but do so quickly because they book up fast!
VERY disappointed in ShoFilms. I was so excited to use their slo mo video booth services for my upcoming wedding. I spoke to Paul on the phone and via email a few times, and he was...
supposed to send me a contract to sign. Well after a week of not hearing from him, I started to wonder what was going on. My fiancé and I called and emailed repeatedly to no avail. Our wedding is in less than a month and we were so looking forward to having this special feature at our wedding. Now we're scrambling to come up with something last minute. Extremely disappointing.
We loved having ShoFilms there for our special day. We did not receive our video back yet but we know their work is quality. They also let us a use a GoPro camera on our honeymoon!...
Shofilms was AMAZING! there are not enough words in the English language to express how happy we were to work with them. They went above and beyond!!! my husband and I would highly...

dding you would barely even know they were there! We cannot wait to see our video... turn around time is 3 months, which is pretty amazing considering all the editing that they do. When we first started looking at videographers.... no other vendor could compare to the quality of videos produced by Shofilms. I suggest booking this vendor VERY EARLY as I have heard they are in high demand. Thanks again Shofilms! We love you guys and gals!
Why not make the most important day of your life into a movie?! ShoFilms is truly genius and they are beyond talented. They will make your wedding day last for years to come!
ShoFilms does not just provide videography. ShoFilms makes your wedding day into the movie you always dreamed it would be. Our cinematographers were attentive, flexible, and on poi...
nt all day long to capture moments that would mean the most to us. They were professional and made everyone feel comfortable.
Our wedding day was a big day for our family and ShoFilms was a big part of it. I cannot imagine not having them there for our event. When our highlight clip was revealed we received phone calls, emails, and comments about the professional quality. The personal edits make watching it such an emotional and magical event.
If you are getting married, you need to get ShoFilms. You can get a regular videographer and watch your friends and family roll their eyes and wince in pain at the thought of watching your wedding video or you can get ShoFilms and have a real movie experience you will love and cherish for years to come.
I don't even know where to begin...ShoFilms is by far the most talented and professional team of videographers I have ever encountered (and I work in the wedding industry). My husb...
and and I are blown away every time we watch our video. ShoFilms captured every moment of our wedding perfectly- down to every last detail, the music, people, dances- everything, perfect.
If you are lucky enough to have a wedding date that shoFilms has available, book them- they are worth every penny. It was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. I get to relive my wedding day all over again every time I watch the video- and it couldn't be more close to the real thing. They are the best of the best and deserve to be filming movies in Hollywood!
Beautiful footage!
I'm not one for all caps, but these guys will make all your wildest dreams come true. I searched high and low (for about an hour) before coming across these guys on theknot, I watc...
hed a few of their highlight videos and immediately called my mom to beg her to hire them for our May 12 wedding. She reluctantly complied given that they seem a little pricey but let me tell you this was possibly the best investment we made in the wedding. These guys are artists. They capture things you don't even know are happening even if you are standing right there. You could hire these guys and not need a photographer they are truly that good. It was such a pleasure working with them. They make you feel so at ease and nothing like you are being video taped (not that I'm camera shy...) but my husband sort of rolled his eyes like "are we really doing an interview with these guys" and once we got thought a few shots he was so excited for the video and was totally into it. We did whatever they asked us to do because we could see how amazing this video was going to turn out and it really did. This is only based on the highlight video, we haven't gotten our blurays yet, but the wedding was may 12 and our highlight was posted and we got to watch it in the Hong Kong airport on our way to our honeymoon in Thailand on May 16. I can't say enough good things about these guys. Go to their website and see for yourself! Our highlight video is "Jamie + Josh". We loved every minute of our rehearsal dinner and wedding day and we get to relive it for years to come with this incredible video. Thank you so much Paul!
ShoFilms did a wonderful job filming our wedding. Not only were they friendly and professional, but they captured the spirit of our day perfectly. Their theatrical style helped to...
show our wedding day from our point of view, which is exactly how I wanted it to be remembered. I loved working with the ShoFilms team and how comfortable they made us feel. I am so glad that they were the ones filming our wedding day; I don't think we would have received such high quality work otherwise. Our favorite way to relive our wedding day magic is most definitely by watching our film. I don't think I can say "thank you" enough. Thank you ShoFilms crew!
