Poor service, cold food with zero flavor and dry as powder.
Shawn's Smokehouse BBQ was extremely accommodating for our wedding, and we couldn't recommend them enough. We had initially signed a contract with them multiple months before COVID...
was even on the horizon, and as we continued through the planning process they were very understanding of the situation. We've been working our way through eating some of the leftovers (that we froze), and many of the guests had only good things to say about the food. Enormous thanks to Stephanie and team!
Shawn’s Smokehouse BBQ did a FANTASTIC job for our wedding!! The food was delicious - and the service was top notch!! The butlers were friendly and professional - everything was ...
perfect!!
Shawn's BBQ did a phenomenal job on our wedding day at The Ospreys. The food was all very tasty and the service all of our guests received was wonderful. Not to mention they were a...
lso the most reasonably priced vendor out there without sacrificing on quality. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a great caterer!
The first time we came down to VA to look at venues for our wedding- all 3 separate spots told us we needed to check out Shawn's and they were right! We were in luck getting such a...
n AWESOME place to feed our guests. We LOVED working with Shawn's from start to finish. We got more compliments on our wedding food than almost anything else! They went above and beyond to set up and make the most wonderful spread I've ever seen at wedding. The customized every last little detail to make it delicious and perfect for our day. I would HIGHLY suggest the brisket, mashed potatoes and their chicken pieces if you something delicious and we promise- their brisket is some of the best you will ever taste!
Stephanie worked with us to make sure our menu was perfect, followed up with emails and sample menus. She made sure we were getting everything we wanted. They were professional, supportive and went above and beyond to make sure everything was wonderful.
From the mac & cheese bar to their mini desserts (cheesecakes, tiramisu, key lime, brownies, cookies etc) we were in heaven! The service was awesome that evening and we couldn't have been more grateful for making the evening so perfect. We've already talked about making another trip down to VA for another round of Shawn's because it was THAT good.
They were terrific and we may be biased but definitely some of the best BBQ and by far, best wedding food we've ever had!!!
Although the food was delicious, there were major problems with serving it. My daughter had a family style meal for just over 100 guests. None of the food was served with serving s...
poons or forks. When guests asked for utensils, huge buffet style spoons were brought out. This scenario was repeated over and over again. My table never received the salmon. Fortunately I knew to ask for it. Asked two different servers, telling them our table did not receive ANY and after some time they brought over a small plate with a few pieces on it. Sauces were on the table when guests arrived along with the salads, so they thought they were all salad dressings since they were not brought out with the brisket or salmon nor did the server inform the guests. Later when clearing tables, if you did not hold onto your drink, it was gone.
I also used Shawn’s to cater a breakfast the following day. They sent one person to set up and a 2nd arrived much later. Guests were arriving before food was set up and they forgot to deliver a huge fruit tray for 35 guests. Again the food that was there was delicious but they have a long way to go on service.
Shawn’s was great to deal with during the planning. They just could not execute the event. Although the food was great, it was unacceptable to not be able to serve it. Their response was apologetic. Gave a credit for the fruit and are sending a gift card but truly the service was a debacle.
The food was amazing. Great service for a great price!
The recommendation for Shawn's catering came from our venue, The Osprey's at Belmont Bay. After reviewing their options and attending a tasting...we were sold! The food was amazing...
, especially the brisket. The catering coordinators were very helpful, responsive to my questions and requests, and easy to work with. I would highly recommend using Shawn's for your next event. You won't be dissapoointed.
Shawn’s was a great vendor! They were professional, flexible with our budget, and the food was absolutely delicious!
Shawns was recommended through my venue coordinator; and I see why. The food was amazing and I was getting compliments all day about how good it all was!
