Hi, I'm Nathan, the founder of Shake & Gather. I've spent more than a decade in hospitality, from fine-dining floors to private events and banquets. Along the way I learned that the drinks matter, but the way people feel matters more. The best nights I've worked were never about the fanciest cocktail. They were about the moment a room relaxed, the conversation picked up and a group of people turned into a celebration. In 2025, my husband and I packed up our life in Denver and moved to Chicago. I didn't know what to expect, but this city welcomed us in a way that still surprises me. The neighborhoods, the people and the way Chicago shows up for each other made it feel like home almost right away. Shake & Gather is my way of giving something back to the community that made room for us. None of this would be possible without my husband. He has been my biggest supporter through every late night, every leap of faith and every "what if we actually did this?" His belief in me is poured into every event we do. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I know how much it means to walk into a space and feel fully welcome. That's the feeling I want every guest to have at a Shake & Gather bar, whether it's your wedding, your company's holiday party or a few friends in the backyard.
