The Lodge at Seven Oaks was a wonderful venue! The atmosphere is wonderful and fit well with our nature / hiking / National Park theme we had going on and many guests complimented ...
the look of the venue. Alcohol prices are very affordable (we were able to do an open bar!), and the drinks are very good! We also appreciated the use of outdoor space and ability to start a campfire and s'more station for out guests. Heidi and the others helping coordinate the event did a great job relaying information to our vendors and were a big help on getting everything organized during the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. My husband and I thank Seven Oaks for helping make our day so special!

Seven Oaks was the perfect place for us to have our wedding reception and rehearsal dinner. There is absolutely nothing we would have changed about the weekend! We received so many...
compliments about how nice the venue was and we especially liked having both the indoor space and outdoor patio space. It was also so convenient to be completely set up for our reception in the conference center the day before and still host our rehearsal dinner in the main lodge space the night before. We appreciated having multiple package options that allowed us to choose the package/pricing that provided the best value and fit for our event.
Sara and Heidi were so nice, helpful and responsive throughout the planning process; and Sara, Heidi and Shelby all went above and beyond in the days leading up to and the day of the wedding to make sure everything went as planned - including coordinating with our vendors and helping plan and execute our timeline. Seven Oaks made our wedding day a dream come true! Despite having multiple employee changeovers, our day ended up being more than we had envisioned. The staff helped us throughout ...
our entire planning process with any questions we had and helped us finalize some of the smaller details that are often forgotten. All of the big things were set up when we arrived the day before and they even went above and beyond by making sure our napkins were folded as we had discussed at our final meeting. They were there to cue for timing of things for the ceremony as well as make sure we kept on top of our timeline throughout the reception. They additionally helped pack everything up at the end of the night making it substantially easier on us and our family to ensure we could truly enjoy the day. They’ve done a great job renovating spaces in order to ensure you have a comfortable space from rehearsal dinner to getting ready and getting married! Sara and her team are so great and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone getting married in the area!

and as perfectly as possible. She made sure it was possible for me to get to come out and practice walking multiple times ahead of the wedding, as I’m in a wheelchair & walking down the aisle was a big goal of mine. She and Shelby were so laid-back and let us have our day, but stepped in when needed to get specific details arranged exactly the way my husband and I wanted them to be. We are forever grateful to Sara, Shelby, and the staff at Seven Oaks for making our wedding day truly unforgettable. ❤️

tly what we envisioned. We ultimately booked with Seven Oaks because of the amazing staff and the beautiful grounds was the cherry on top. The patio was a huge hit with our guest, there was plenty of space to spread out. We have nothing but great things to say and HIGHLY recommend the venue to anyone looking for a quite secluded setting.

a delight. COVID postponed our wedding multiple times, and she made it stress-free and easy as can be to change dates and plans. The space was perfect for our family, with basically three spaces for guests to roam; the beautiful outdoor patio, the bar area, and larger space with the dance floor. If I could do it over again, I would choose this venue again in a heartbeat.

I from the start to the finish. She helped set up my wedding the day before and helped take it all down. She ironed out my dress for me and men's clothes along with making sure vendors were there on time and that all guest we're headed outside around ceremony time. Anything I needed Emma would have an answer to or find out an answer. Her staff was amazing too. I can't recommend Seven Oaks enough 💙

Myhusband and I had our wedding reception at Seven Oaks this past August. We loved that Seven Oaks had lots of indoor space as well as outdoor space to accommodate all the guests....
There outdoor patio was a big hit for our wedding. It has plenty of tables for seating and is lit up with stylish lights. Inside, the bar was large enough for guests to hang out at bar top tables and beside the bar was a lighted sheet backdrop which many guests loved taking pictures in front of with props. The BEST part about Seven Oaks is the wedding planner that comes with it! EMMA PETERSON is AWESOME! We adored her. Anything we needed she was right there to help us. Planning our wedding with her was a Godsend. Even though COVID-19 and the Derecho in Iowa occurred during our wedding planning, Emma always had our back with it all. She even helped me find a photographer when mine dropped out a couple weeks before the wedding. I cannot say enough good things about Seven Oaks and Emma Peterson. They truly made our day the BEST DAY EVER!

Planner, is simply AMAZING and helped with every aspect we needed. The venue is simply gorgeous the way it is, but added the outside seating area and breath taking view of the ski hills in the summer, it was a wonderful backdrop for family photos. While setting up, the owner even came out and visited with us, and was super friendly and welcoming. Truly, you can NOT go wrong wit this venue--
We were very happy with Seven Oaks Recreation as a wedding venue. It met our needs in regards to providing both a ceremony space as well as an area for the reception and dance....
We wanted to be married near Ames and Seven Oaks was a logical choice with its location near Boone off of Highway 30.
The planning process was very smooth and the timing for the meetings was logical as we worked toward the actual wedding date. The coordinator (Emma) was kind enough to allow additional viewings so family members could see the site prior to the big day.
I was happy the venue had a good relationship with a solid caterer (Lidderdale Country Store) and I did not have to worry a bit about the meal and the company's ability to work with the wedding venue's set-up.
The weather cooperated and we were able to have guests outside as well with social time and the use of the fire pit. Very pleased with the outdoor picture options too as the area around Seven Oaks is very scenic.
The package we picked was fantastic as it provided a busser to clear tables as well as bartenders for the evening. We are also pleased to have cloth table clothes and napkins and it really helped to make the location classy with the wood decor provided by the venue.
Emma is a fantastic coordinator and I was pleased with her questioning process along the way and all of the "what if" situations she was prepared for---we did forget some minor things (e.g. dessert plates) and she was ready with a solution.
Highly recommend Seven Oaks Recreation for a wedding!

eally cut down on the stress on my wedding day. The best part of Seven Oaks is you get Emma. If I could dream it up, Emma could make it happen. She thought of things we hadn’t and could take my vague ideas and impractical timelines and form them into something ridiculously beautiful. I was so thankful to place my wedding day in her extremely knowledgeable hands so I could fully enjoy the day it took us over a year to plan.

Emma and Larissa were wonderful to work with. Every detail that needed taken care of from the very beginning of the planning stage right up to the big day was taken care of. Emma was always a phone call or email away with any questions that needed answered. The wedding day was beautiful and perfect. There was a glitch that occurred and we are so thankful for Larissa to be able to step up and help the ceremony to continue on. A big thank you Emma and Larissa and the rest of the staff at Seven Oaks...you are all awesome!

and made sure my day ran as smoothly as possible. They made my dream wedding come true and they went above and beyond all of my expectations. To anyone looking for a beautiful venue, look no further because there is no better venue or better staff than this one right here. My hubby and I looked at a TON of other venues in the area ad none of them even come close to what this one had to offer. From the extremely helpful staff, to the affordable costs, to the beautiful venue, to a gorgeous outdoor space, and the overall experience, this place has it all and I would recommend this to anyone who s looking for a fantastic place to get married.

erson, responded to texts within minutes, and was very resourceful/has good advice on every step of the operation overall! She really took the reigns when I needed her to! What an asset to Seven Oaks!
The visual presentation of Seven Oaks has warmth with the knotty pine/cabin feel along with plenty of space to accommodate any size group with high 16' cielings to boot (Not to mention they provided a very tall ladder to hang my cieling decorations). Never did we feel cramped with our 200+ group! We had our ceremony out on the lush/manicured lawn right by the ski lift which was so fitting for us since we're ski/snowboard lovers but would suit any type of couple that desire an outdoor wedding. The Kitchen was very user friendly and easy to navigate for our caterer. Their bar had so many options for drink choice that it made our decisions easy and effortless and was located perfectly in between a quiet entrance and the reception area - a perfect social transition in our party!
All of our guests were so impressed on the venue they can't wait to come back to see it in the winter time for ski season! We couldn't have asked for a better place to host our special day!

nator, Emma Peterson, was wonderful to work with! She was so helpful, especially since we were planning the wedding from out of state. She would do about anything to make your day as special and run as smooth as she could! The packages and prices are definitely compatible with any other venue you would look at. There are two rooms to choose from, or you can rent both. My husband and I rented both. We had cocktail hour in one and dinner/dancing in the bigger room. It worked out perfect! Seven Oaks is a must see venue for any occasion! Thanks so much Seven Oaks for giving us such a beautiful Labor Day wedding! :)

above and beyond by helping us with many details big and small. The property was beautiful and very clean. They are very open to your choice of vendors. The ultimate wedding package was the best deal that we found around. We had 293 people invited, which ended up being close to 200. It was the perfect sized venue for our guest list. It was the perfect day, and I couldn't have asked for a better venue and crew to help me. If I could choose again knowing what I know now, I would choose Seven Oaks again.
