We loved Julian! He was so kind and matched out style/vibe perfectly! It was also super east to fill out the "music planner" packet they give you when curating your wedding music and plans. We also loved that we could get a photo booth through the same company/contract, and we also added a string quartet from Second Song too! Everything was a major hit with our guests! Everyone loved the string quartet, the photo booth was utilized all night, and DJ Julian really kept the party going! Our DJ also took any request (even Slayer hahaha) and really made sure everyone was having fun. Highly recommend Second Song!

After meeting his wife, Rob was hired as an intern at a small DJ company where he first started DJing weddings and other events. In 7 years, Rob had managed to grow it into the largest DJ service in the country. In 2019, Rob decided to start his own company with the goal of pushing event entertainment to the next level, with a focus on design, music, and technology.

Although we did not get to hear too much of Olga’s playing (she mostly played ahead of the ceremony and during cocktail hour), our guests raved about her. We were paired with Jay (DJ Vento), and he was the perfect fit for our wedding. As a Brazilian living in Southern California, he understood exactly what we were going for: a mix of Brazilian party music, classic US wedding hits, and California favorites, including Bay Area hyphy. Communication was easy throughout the process, he picked up our direction immediately, and he ran with the sample playlists we shared to create something that felt uniquely us.
The result was an incredible dance floor all night long. Jay blended Brazilian and American hits seamlessly, kept the energy up from start to finish, hit all of our must-plays, and absolutely nailed the timing of our special dance and final song. The Fusion musicians were fantastic as well and added another dimension to the experience that made the whole night even more memorable.
If you're planning a wedding that brings together different cultures, musical tastes, or generations of guests, we can't recommend Second Song enough. They made the music one of the highlights of our wedding, and we would book them again in a heartbeat!

I was a bit concerned that the DJ wouldn't be familiar with Persian music, which I wanted a little of for my Persian guests. By the time I had to select a DJ, I was so overwhelmed with decision fatigue, I was happy to accept the coordinator's recommendation. That was DJ Luis O.
You guys--it was amazing. During our introductory call, he was so cheerful and calm, I figured if nothing else, he'd have a positive presence and not make cheesy jokes (IYKYK). He listened to our rambling ideas, reassured us and said we'd meet at the wedding. EVERYBODY loved the music, his professionalism, and humor. Not only did he have a fun mix of music for everyone, but he transitioned Persian music seamlessly with pop music. My parents' friends were out there dancing! Toddlers spinned and wiggled their butts! There were 4 people left and the music was still going strong!

The music and curation were amazing. Ace was so good at reading the room and adjusting to the energy throughout the night, and once the dancing started, it genuinely felt like hit after hit. The dance floor was packed all night, and we had so many guests come up to us during and after the wedding to tell us how amazing the DJ was.
We also added live saxophone and percussion through Second Song, which took the energy to another level. They integrated seamlessly with Ace and made the dance floor even more fun and memorable.

with our chosen DJ (Ceasare). We really liked the DJ profiles that Second Song has; with the video interview as well as sample sets to listen to. This made it easy to pick a DJ that we thought meshed well with our style. Ceasare was AMAZING. We had such fun on our intro call with him; he is such an interesting and engaging guy. He was open to all of our suggestions/requests and what resulted was the wedding dance floor experience we were hoping for! A few of our suggestions were based on music we liked and how he could mash songs together. He mashed up Eminem (Lose Yourself) with Hamilton (Not throwing away my Shot) and that was just awesome to hear! He also did a bunch of Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift mashups and remixes which was really fun to hear. One of the ideas we had was how we wanted to play the first dance songs of our guest during the dinner and Ceasare truly delivered with this. This was probably one of the most talked about things with our wedding and he had such a smooth way of introducing this to our guest; he said something along the lines of “the newlyweds have curated a special playlist for you all while you eat, and once you ear what is playing, you will know what to do.” So while we had our dinner, we got to see the reactions to our married guest as they heard their first dance songs and as they danced in front of our whole party. In addition, Ceasare worked with our day of coordinator to play Sh-Boom when the bistro lights were turned on similar to how they do it at Cars Land at Disneyland. It was a full dance floor the entire night, and it was truly perfect. One of our guest is a semi-professional DJ in Minnesota and he shared with us that Ceasare was an amazing DJ and definitely knew how to throw a party. We loved his energy as well, you can tell he is enjoying himself and feeling the music while he is working. 3 weeks after the wedding we are still talking about how great Ceasare was!

We loved how Second Song had interview videos of the DJ’s, so we could get a sense of their personalities — as well as actual mixes, so we could get a sense of their musical style. We were immediately drawn to Dorion, because he had the exact energy we were looking for, and his mixes were FIRE. The process of booking with second song was smooth and professional.
Dorion was really responsive throughout the planning process. I had a couple of unique requests, including a surprise song for my husband. Additionally, the day of we had several last minute changes on our end with our timeline. When it came to open dance, Dorion delivered BANGER after BANGER. Every song was a hit, and uniquely catered to our own music preference requests we had discussed. He integrated live mixing in addition to smooth transitions. We had a BLAST, and our guests were raving nonstop that the DJ was 11/10. If we ever needed a DJ for an event in the future, we’d book Dorion again in a heartbeat — do yourself a favor and do the same!

working with Rob G was an absolute dream, and we were able to incorporate so many different styles of music into our night that everyone was able to have an amazing time. He seamlessly blended from our favorite hardcore bands like Every Time I Die all the way to Bad Bunny, and was even able to throw in a song created by one of our guests. He incorporated so many genres of music and was such an insanely positive energy of the evening. We also elected to add the special lighting package, and it was worth every penny. It added the perfect atmosphere to the venue and elevated the entire night. We keep hearing nothing but rave reviews from all of our guests about how amazing the music was and how fantastic the overall vibe felt.

Our DJ — DJ Ace — was absolutely FANTASTIC. He brought such an energy, and was so fun to work with. He kept our dance floor very busy, despite having a very wide range of music preferences among our guests. We are so impressed with his skills to keep the night moving along, and his execution was flawless. The Photo Booth was SO FUN! Our guests loved it. Many websites tell you that photo booths are ‘out’, and I can assure you, this one is not. Our printable picture template was completely customizable and everyone raved about how fun it was and how nice the pictures came out.
I HIGHLY recommend second song for your next party or wedding. I can’t imagine a more flawless, streamlined approach than what they showed us.

, responses were delayed, often confusing, and at times contradicted information that had already been clearly established directly with vendors. There was also a complete lack of flexibility, which made planning significantly more difficult rather than easier.
In practice, I found myself bypassing Second Song and coordinating directly with vendors just to ensure accuracy and avoid ongoing miscommunication. This completely undermined the purpose of paying for a third-party service, as I ultimately handled the majority of the planning myself.
My interactions with leadership were equally concerning. Communication from the CEO came across as dismissive, unprofessional, and at times condescending, which only added to the frustration rather than helping resolve issues.
Execution on the day of the event also fell well below expectations. The DJ missed key announcements, played incorrect songs, and did not follow clear direction from the coordinator. One of the most important moments, our first dance, was rushed without any announcement, despite explicit prior instruction.
Given the total cost of approximately $6,000, the value provided was not remotely aligned with the price. The overall experience felt disorganized, unsupported, and ultimately not worth the investment.
I cannot recommend this service based on my experience.

At our end, we are humbled, extremely bummed out, and looking internally to ensure that we address your concerns. As you can see from the near-perfect other reviews we have, we pride ourselves not only on our performance, but the customer service and care we provide all our couples in the run up to their wedding. The music, entertainment, and DJ services are meant to be fun, and our goal is only to make it an enjoyable process from booking through to the wedding day.
It sounds like I personally let our team down on this occasion, too, and did not set the right tone for your experience overall. For that, I apologize and take full responsibility. I did search through all our email correspondance, and couldn't pinpoint any cases where there had been any conflict or that stood out. So I assume it was perhaps a phone call, and I might have been rushed and not given you the time you deserved. My cell phone is linked to the business and sometimes I am running around with family and my kids and take calls when perhaps I shouldn't. My lesson is to let it go to voicemail and get it later. That is better than answering to get people the answers they need, but not providing the right kind of tone and positive service.

In terms of the DJ/MC service, we did have one of our most experienced DJs at the Wedding, and someone who has only received positive reviews throughout his entire career. So I was a little shocked it didn't meet expectations. I know sometimes people can have an off day, where they are not hitting 100%, and sometimes there can be circumstances outside of our control that we don't adapt to quickly enough. The DJ mentioned to me that the amazing Helicopter Grand Entrance caused a bit of confusion between the planner and some fo the vendors, and he did his best to navigate the situation. With it being a somewhat unique situation, it sounds like there was some maneuvering and last-minute adjustments that the DJ rolled with and tried to follow direction, but caused some of the confusion to open the wedding and head into the first dance.
All of us at Second Song do this because we love what we do, and our intentions are only to provide the best possible experience to our couples and leave them with positive memories. We didn't make that happen this time around, and we are truly sorry. No matter the circumstances, we will be making the adjustments to ensure this never happens again.
