Sarah photographed my daughter's wedding at Tavern on the Green on June 27. We hired her company 33 years ago to shoot my and my husband's wedding and always treasured our photos....
so we came back! So happy we did! Sarah was a dream to work with from start to finish, and she provided a great videography team. This was a complicated shoot with lots of moving pieces, and Sarah pulled it off beautifully. The rain forecast complicated an outdoor shoot, but Sarah found a gorgeous indoor space for formal photos that we would never have known about. She seems to put her whole self into her work with energy and positivity, and the resulting photos beautifully capture extraordinary moments and details of this day. Cannot recommend her highly enough.

capturing spectacular photos of everyone in front of the tree at Rockefeller, Radio City, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and (my personal favorite) blocking off traffic on Madison Ave while we lined up curb to curb. (Direct quote from Liel, "if you hear honking, it means they like you!")
It's now a year later, and we just finalized our album and video, and, boy, are they incredible. Lisa is awesome to work with and is so helpful in the photo selection/story-telling process. Angela designed an incredible album for us; it's stunning. Our video captures the day just as we remember it, and re-living it one year later is awesome. Video is a MUST have!

We received digital files of our photos within days of our wedding and we received our wedding album on our six month anniversary. ht everything, we didn't notice him the day of and the video turned out great. However, the photographer and the album-making process were terrible. The photographer was surly, missed a ton of shots, poorly arranged the shots we were able to get him to take (it was a tug of war with him) and generally did a truly awful job. They also appear to have only 1 album design person on staff and she is so overworked that (a) she has about 3.5 minutes to spend on each album, (b) takes forever to do everything and (c) doesnt even know what the original sales people contracted for nor does she care. The worst part is because they hold onto your negatives, etc for over a year (at the min) you can't even just take your terrible pictures and walk away, you have to keep dealing with them over and over and over again. My only advice is do NOT use Sarah Merians.

considered (Central Park Boat House). I wanted someone who could capture the emotion of the day, not make me look like I was in a magazine. (They could have accommodated me either way.) I went with Sheila after seeing some samples of her work, and she was fantastic! How good? My make up artist was 3 hours late, and I was not happy - it threw off the timing for our family photos, couple photos, start of the ceremony, etc., and my infant niece was a cranky one that day. Sheila still managed to get everyone's feathers unruffled and make everyone smile, so we got fabulous photos, which I love, and we got several hundred proofs to choose from for our album. It was definitely the right decision for us. I'd recommend them to other brides.
