Sara Wight Photography

that: Not hinted. Not implied. Told directly and confidently. So I carried that with me. For years. Into every photoshoot. Into every camera moment. Into every insecurity I had about being photographed — especially around my own wedding. And then Sara happened. From the very beginning, she turned every negative belief I had completely on its head. I told her all my fears — that I felt stiff and compressed in photos, that I never looked like myself, that I dreaded being in front of a camera because I always ended up looking like someone dropped a compactor on me. She listened with compassion and confidence like I had never experienced before. But the moment everything shifted was during our Central Park engagement session. Picture it: the most classic NYC spot, packed with couples doing stiff, awkward poses with photographers who barely moved. And then there was Sara — moving, adjusting, shifting, reading light, reading us, giving direction that felt natural and easy. I could tell instantly: She’s different. She’s an actual artist. And for the first time in my life, I didn’t feel awkward. I felt taken care of. When the photos came back, I was shook. Truly. Audibly gasped. They were editorial. They were classic. They were alive. She caught a candid moment of me laughing at my fiancé — completely unposed — that I loved so much we framed it at the wedding. People were obsessed. Then came the wedding day. And somehow… she caught everything: ✨ Me popping champagne before the first look (chaotic perfection) ✨ The cheeky, intimate, can’t-fake-it moments during portraits ✨ The quiet moments where we thought no one was watching ✨ The joy exploding off the dance floor ✨ The reactions, the emotion, the details, the heartbeat of the whole day And she did it while being everywhere and nowhere at the same time — present without intruding, directing without forcing, observing without missing a single beat. Her assistant Jordan (a former swimmer like me — obvious soulmate) was equally brilliant. I am not sentimental. I am not a crier. I am not the “photo nostalgia” person. But the sneak peek alone? I want to cry EVERY time I look at them. They are the most tangible part of the wedding — the part you get to keep for decades, the part that becomes memory, the part that brings you back. And here’s the biggest thing: **Sara didn’t just take beautiful photos. She shattered the idea that I “don’t photograph well.” She proved — with artistry, with talent, with truth — that I had been misjudged. And that meant more to me than I can ever explain.** Which is why this is absolutely true: **Sara will be at every major life event I ever have. Every milestone. Every family moment. Every child. She is the ONLY photographer I trust with our memories.** She didn’t just document our wedding. She changed how I see myself. She gave us a legacy of joy and truth and beauty. If you are thinking about hiring her — stop thinking. Book her. She is the photographer you’ll want for every moment that matters.
