We had our ceremony and reception on November 5, 2011 at the Buccaneer at the Sailfish Marina. The Buccaneer used to be a restaurant the Sailfish Marina used strictly for private ...
parties.
The ceremony was outside on the grass area on the water and the palm trees made a natural alter area that our florist decorated with flowers and tulle. White chairs were provided and set up by the banquet staff.
Our DJ was on the outdoor covered patio area and when the sun went down the lights from the marina and the Singer Island Bridge made a beautiful backdrop for dancing.
Dinner was served buffet style and it was phenomenal!!! I was somewhat nervous about a buffet but all of the dishes were delicious. There was plenty of food for our guests to get second and third helpings and I did not hear one complaint about the food, everyone raved about it.
The banquet manager and staff are the best. They were on top of every detail of that day and I did not have to worry about anything as the bride.
It is an older venue that is starting to show its age, but for the price, quality and service it can't be beat. The decorating is only limited by your budget and imagination so the space is like a blank canvas for you to transform into your dream day.
We had about 55 guests and there was comfortable space for people to walk around.
We had a great wedding at the Sailfish, they went above and beyond what my expectations were for the cost of the wedding there compared to some other waterfront venues we looked at.
Our reception venue had the perfect combination of casual elegance. The setting on the water was incredible, especially at sunset. The staff was amazing, particularly our primar...
y contact, Jen. I do not know what we would have done without her kindness and flexibility. We had so many issues with almost all of our other venues leading up to this, and Jen almost made us forget how bad everything/everyone else had been. The best feature of the Harbor View is the incredible bar. Our guests are big drinkers. One of the best features is the enormous, beautiful old wood bar inside and a fun tiki bar outside near the water.;It was a little tight for 165 guests, the dance floor is a tad small, and it got a bit warm, even for March in Florida, due to having the entire venue open (as our reception was indoor/ outdoor). Otherwise, it was perfect.
