We held our wedding reception at Royal Scot in early October of 2019. The event space was awesome! It was big enough for our larger wedding (about 230 guests) and the price was nic...
e! We worked with Joanie throughout our planning process, and she was excellent. She even made recommendations for other venders that they had worked with in the past. She was even great to bounce décor ideas off, and she went above and beyond! The food was great, and our guests had an excellent time. Because they didn’t have any other events that weekend, we were able to set up TWO days before our event, which was so amazing. The staff was so accommodating throughout the process and the day of. We ended up having some hiccups on the big day, but they were quick to fix anything that went wrong to ensure that our day was awesome! Great space, great price, and great experience overall.
I am a local event planner/designer. We just did the decor for the St. Johns High Prom at Royal Scot, and I am taking the time to give them a 5 star review for one specific reason ...
- Joanie, their banquet manager, was absolutely fabulous to work with, very accessible and responsive, and made the whole planning so much easier.
Celebrated my wedding reception at The Royal Scot and I wouldn't have changed anything! We worked with Rich and he definitely knows his stuff! He's been in the reception business f...
or years so be sure to listen to his recommendations. Him and his staff worked endlessly to ensure that everything was perfect - from the food, to the set up, to coordinating with our other vendors. The icing on the cake? You will not find a better price for a large wedding reception venue in Lansing! Plus they worked with Quality Suites for a free shuttle bus for our friends and family.
We reserved both banquet halls upstairs (North and South rooms) for my wedding day. Overall it went well, food was delicious and served on time. The venue had a great dance floor. ...
However we were promised set up time of 8am on the day of the wedding, but clean up staff didnt show up until hours later. When we arrived at 8am, we found rooms had not been vacuumed from the wedding the night before, and chairs and tables were not setup. So we had to do it ourselves. Later on, we were scolded by staff for doing it ourselves. We also never found the runner for the ceremomy aisle. We also had to remind staff several times to change the marquee sign to our names. We found out that staff were delayed in setting up our rooms because they were meeting with a prospective client (bride and groom) at that same time instead of setting up for our wedding. This was unprofessional and very bad timing. There was a lack of communication between the Event Coordinator and his staff. But everything worked out well in the end!
We had our reception at Royal Scot. The food was fantastic (London broil and sage stuffed chicken) and the full bar was professionally staffed. The walls are a bit drab, but with t...
he lights down, it really was beautiful! We added a bit more to the centerpieces to make them prettier. Overall, I was pleased with Rich and his staff.
Royal Scot was wonderful to work with and made our wedding wonderful!! We had a lot of complements on the food and the whole experience itself! They let us change things at the la...
st minute and I just can't say enough good things about them!! I would highly recommend them to anyone!!
This place was a lot cheaper than it was going to be at Eagle Eye but still quite nice! Sure, it's connected to a bowling alley but it was still very elegant! There were chandeli...
ers in the ballroom, a nice, separate dance floor, and a nice outdoor patio that the guests enjoyed as well. Rich who is in charge of the banquets was awesome to work with and very helpful - our guests absolutely loved the food he recomemended to us!

Loved everything about this place. the guy that helped us out was awesome and worked with us alot!
Two months before our wedding, our previous vendor decided not to honor our contract. Multiple items that were in our SIGNED contract, they decides to not do (like our decorations...
, menu choices, and price per head). We searched for a new location and came up with Royal Scot. Surprisingly, they were not booked for our date. They were VERY helpful in making sure we had everything taken care of and in the end, the location was much better than what we had before. We had a balcony for people to spend some time outside and they let us take some of our pictures out on the golf course. All of there food prices already had the service tax includes, so we actually spent less on this venue than we would have at our other location.
Rich did things right. The room was beautiful. Things flowed smooth. Quality of food was wonderful. Good space. The Bar tender was great! Overall, wonderful.
A balcony to get fresh air but still be a part of the reception
