First of all my apologies for anything other than an ideal wedding experience. Sarah, her husband, their DJ and extended families are all very nice people. We enjoyed meeting with...
them on numerous occasions before the wedding.
A series of events and misunderstandings came up on their wedding day caught me by surprise. These events built on top of each other and resulted in frustrations for the couple and me. I was perplexed then and just now when I read their review, until I went back and found their contract. We had somehow given them an agreement that left off the final paragraph. The missing information explains what is allowed in the brides building, where supplies can be stored and several other procedures that every other couple was able to work with and agree to. On any non wedding day the building where brides prepare is a living area, we have many personal items and family treasures located there. Although it could be a very comfortable area for guests to hang out, we have provided other areas for family and visitors. Had Sarah received the full contract it would have been clear that we prefer to limit the building to 8-10 girls getting reading for the wedding, not larger groups of friends, relatives and children. We sincerely apologize for this oversight.
On the topic of the sound system. This is not listed as something we provide, when asked if we have a system we sometimes agree to let the let couples use it to help save money. The system is worth well over a thousand dollars and has worked every time before and after their wedding. They had a very nice young lady running sound, she had all the music for the service and reception saved on a computer, unfortunately every once in a while a very loud feedback boom blasted out on both sets of my speakers. We assumed it had something to do with my connections so I tried my best to help out but it continued and got worse throughout the reception. As time went on and the loud feedback sounds happened more frequently, I became more sure that the problem was not with my equipment but with the source and finally said that it needed to stop. I was sure that it would ruin my system that was needed for a wedding the next day. Since the sound system did work fine the next day with all the same hookups, I hope that the family understands and forgives my concerns of that evening.
I’m thankful that my wife, Audrey is always sweet and was appreciated for her help.
I am truly sorry for the experience that this family had but will be willing to give any couples considering our venue the names and numbers of 30 to 40 couples who would gladly give us a 5 star rating.
Ron
I have to give Ron's Pond one star but the place is very very beautiful. We recently had our wedding their in August and it wasn't the best experience. I will give credit to Audrey...
(owner) who was very nice to us but her Husband Ron (owner) was not so welcoming. As the Bride I didn't have to deal with all of the situations that happened the day of our wedding but my wedding coordinator and friends did. First off, there is no actual contract that the venue gives out. They gave us just a one piece of paper that had import information about what is provided and that we needed to have insurance if we are serving alcohol. There are NO details about what we are allowed to do on the premises or not. Respectfully this is a couples home and I am not saying we didn't respect their property but things were said to us from Ron that we weren't made aware of until the day of our wedding. We meet up with Ron and Audrey a week, week and half before our wedding to make final payment and discuss any last minute things. "Rules" were not discussed with us. The day of the wedding I had my brothers and nephews on my side of in the bridal area getting ready. Ron made it a point to come over and tell me that guys were not allowed in the bridal area. My brothers weren't getting ready but instead just visiting with me and discussing things since they were walking me down the isle. I am come from a very LARGE family and a lot of them were visiting out of town and it was the first time seeing them. Second, the venue does not have a stove but there was one in the bridal area. We were never told that we couldn't use it. We toured the bridal area/venue three times before our wedding and not once where we told that we couldn't use the stove. We needed to keep the food warm and we only had the oven on for a couple of hours on low, literally the lowest setting. Ron kept blaming our DJ that she had broken his surround system because it kept making a noise. At one point he yelled at her saying "what did you mess up now" when she wasn't even within 20 feet of it and didn't move/touch anything in the 10 minutes when Ron was trying to fix the on going issue. The issue was never fixed and the entire time during the reception the speakers would make a very loud noise. It didn't last more than a few seconds but it was constant. Ron ensured us that he had all the connections and we didn't need to worry about anything. I understand it is their property but they had a puppy that they let freely roam around the area during our reception. At one point the puppy was found under the table where the food lids were sleeping inside of a lid. Of course we have nothing against puppies! Ron made it a point throughout our ceremony/reception to present himself to our wedding coordinator that we were "breaking all the rules" when we had no rules in the first place laid out on the contract we were given. It was very upsetting to hear and experiences these things as a Bride. Especially since my wedding coordinator is already doing so much to make our day perfect but had to deal withe the constant interruption. For anyone who uses Ron's Pond please make sure you ask plenty of questions of what is allowed to happen and what isn't. I would make sure to have your contract on hand the day of the event so you can refer to it if need be.
We couldn't have picked a more beautiful perfect place for our wedding! Ron & Audrey were so helpful during the whole process!
I had my wedding there on July 21 and it was absolutely gorgeous. The owners are very friendly and accommodating there are tons of colorful outdoor flowers. There are small canoes ...
to take out in the pond. We used their gazebo for our
Ceremony. Very quiet and secluded located 15 minutes outside Monmouth Oregon. I loved the bride house they had available for getting ready in the morning. They supplied tables and chairs for 125 people and have plenty of room and some equipment to cook your own food. I am
Very happy with the venue.
