About this vendor
Rocket Science Events is a design-forward event planning company specializing in out-of-this-world weddings, corporate, and milestone events. We focus equally on the Left Brain side of planning (think: sexy spreadsheets and timelines) as we do on the Right side of design (think: lighting and linens).
Inspired by our client's unique personalities and ideas, we act as the architect, interior designer, and general contractor for every event we produce - each always different from the last.
Our clients aren’t basic, and neither are our events.

I couldn't possibly express how much we loved working with Gretchen and her team. We had such an amazing experience, every planning and design meeting was a blast and felt like we...
were just out chatting with one of our best friends instead of making huge decisions that would significantly impact our wedding.
The design Gretchen meticulously put together was unimaginably gorgeous and so perfectly captured the aesthetic we both dreamt of for a winter wedding. We wanted to lean into our love of the season without dragging out anything reminiscent of the holiday season. Gretchen did miss a single detail along the way, everything was thought of, communicated, planned-for, handled, and executed perfectly.
Gretchen brought with her so much knowledge of the wedding landscape in the Twin Cities and expertly guided us through every decision, from venue to caterer down to glassware and flatware. We had specific desires, especially regarding arguably minute details. We ended up with exactly what we wanted, every single time.
Beyond all of that amazing work, having Gretchen there on the day of our wedding was priceless. Everything was exactly where it needed to be, exactly when it needed to be there. It was important to us that our wedding be well-executed and that our guests be wowed by the event. It's been over three months and it's still the first thing everyone brings up when we talk.
I wish it was possible to communicate how thrilled we are that we chose to work with Gretchen and the Rocket Science team. They are truly one of the biggest reasons our wedding was the single best day we've ever had.
The Rocket Science team was amazing to work with for our wedding! They made everything easy and manageable for us.

tand your vision for the day and then bringing it to life better than anything you could have imagined. Specifically she does wonderful work with flowers. The flowers and centerpieces at our wedding were out this world and commented on by nearly everyone who attended the wedding. That being said, Rocket Science Wedding & Events will work with you on your budget and really go out of their way to stretch your dollars. Finally, I cannot speak more highly of our wedding coordinator Shorey Tuetken. Shorey did a great job of keeping everyone on task and sticking to the agreed upon timeline. All I had to do was sit back and relax as she worked through all of the details and kept everyone on track. I am a bit of a control freak, so that says a lot! Overall, you can't go wrong with Rocket Science Weddings & Events and you will be so happy that they are a part of your wedding day.

y schedules we knew that a planner was necessary to pull off the wedding we were hoping for. From day one Gretchen was very candid about what she would bring to the table and throughout the 15 months of planning was always accessible to listen, provide input and just have fun! We started with an unwieldy vision of a medieval-chic feast covered in antlers and gold and Gretchen took it from look-book to reality beyond what we could have imagined. A million times, thank you Gretchen and Rocket Science Weddings and Events!
Of all the wedding decisions we faced throughout the planning process, hiring Rocket Science Weddings and Events was without question the best decision we made. Gretchen and her am...
azing team pulled together a concept that was so uniquely us and executed perfectly within our modest budget. While we sought out Gretchen mostly for her pre-wedding services, we were blown away at how valuable she was on the day itself. She's a logistical mastermind and her minute-to-minute planning ensured we had nothing to do but enjoy. Wedding planning by nature is stressful, but Gretchen made it feel fun and easy. Additionally, we used Gretchen as our florist and could not have been more thrilled with the result. I'd urge anyone considering hiring a planner to check out Rocket Science.
My love and I found each other in midlife. We imagined a small but meaningful ceremony, and I was determined to also have an amazing dance party for my ever-faithful friends. Sinc...
e my husband and I are both physician-scientists with busy and unpredictable work (and then I broke my leg in 2 places 7 months before our wedding), we quickly realized that we needed practical help with planning our wedding - but only if we could find someone creative and real, not just someone organized and connected. Through a very lucky series of clicks, I found the Rocket Science Weddings and Events website. Gretchen Culver and her team were amazing from start to finish. First, Gretchen listened and helped us clarify our priorities, then referred us to trusted and equally cool and talented vendors. Every pick was perfect: the gorgeous flowers by Pearls and Lace, the amazing photos by Becca Dilley, the sassy and artistic makeup artist Wendy Zarate, the very fun and insightful DJ Jason Hanson, the kind and eloquent officiant Susan Lee-Wright. Gretchen's help and guidance gave me the space to make silly embossed heart-cupcake flags with friends, spend non-frantic time with my fiancee, think about music and vows - and most importantly, be present on my wedding day to experience the miracle of finding my love and the fun of celebrating our marriage with our closest family and friends. Do not hesitate to hire this woman, she is fantastic.
Gretchen with Rocket Science is a genius!! She is so amazing to work with and has brilliant ideas! She has great communication skills and kept me calm all day. I will DEFINITELY...
be recommending Rocket Science to all of my friends!
Such a great wedding planner, don't even know where to start. We had no idea where to even start, it is so overwhelming. From the time we met she had ideas and was taking us thro...
ugh the process. Very receptive to feedback and coming up with the wedding that was "us". She was always in contact with us and guiding us to the next step. Right up to the wedding day when I was able to relax and enjoy the day knowing it was well planned. She was well worth the money spent.
Gretchen Culver of Rocket Science Weddings and Events made our day special in so many ways. From our very first meeting, she showed keen ability to grasp who we are, what we're abo...
ut, and our quirky creative aesthetic. She respected that we came to the table with our own ideas and design concepts, and she worked to enhance and complement them rather than asserting some other agenda. The ideaboard she created really got us excited about the possibilities for our event design, and it was so fun to creatively play off her ideas. She thinks outside the box while respecting our wishes and traditions. She has all the characteristics of a great coordinator: Artistry, patience, flexibility, assertiveness, tact, resourcefulness, good humor, and showed these qualities throughout our planning process. We hired her for day-of services, but she was with us every step of the way during our planning, which was essential to the success of our wedding day.
Our day went very smoothly with very few wrinkles that we were ever aware of. I appreciated their on-the-fly creative problem solving. For example, it was too hot of a day to light the fireplace in our reception hall. Instead, they placed our illuminated glassware on the hearth for a decorative twist. She and her assistant Laura worked hard behind the scenes without ever trying to take credit for their own hard work - they just tried to make sure we looked and felt good all day!
If you want your wedding day to go smoothly and for it to be a unique reflection of you as a couple, book with Rocket Science Weddings and Events!
Many people resist investing in a planner because of the cost. I just need to tell everyone out there: I guarantee hiring Gretchen will be the best money you will spend in terms of...
wedding expenses! Not only is she amazingly creative with both planning the details and her floral arrangements, but she also understands how to work with what you have. Josh and I made the 2nd most important decision of our wedding by hiring her! (The most important decision, of course, was saying 'I do!')
I cannot express how truly amazing the services at Rocket Science Weddings and Events are. Gretchen has a genuine passion for weddings and is a superior event planner. What start...
ed as a stressful experience on my own, planning my wedding, turned into an exciting and enjoyable time when I started working with RSWE. She helped me create the wedding of my dreams and I would not have been able to do it without her. By the time my wedding came around, I no longer felt like I just had a great wedding coordinator, I had a true friend who was just as excited for my wedding as I was. I can’t wait to plan my next event with Rocket Science Weddings and Events.
From the very beginning, Gretchen was with us every step of the way. I had a clear vision for what I wanted, but Gretchen brought more to that vision that I could’ve ever imagined....
The details that Gretchen helped coordinate, couches for the cocktail hour, Sweet Martha’s cookies butler passed in Sweet Martha’s cookie containers, using a DJ and a band, floral decoration on the patio, an amenities basket in the bathroom, etc. all ended up being what our guests remembered and loved about our wedding. Her recommendations for other vendors were spot on and they all commented to us how much they loved working with Gretchen, too. Gretchen’s dedication to our wedding and making us feel like we were her only clients resulted in such a beautiful wedding for not only us, but our guests, too. We love hearing how much our guests enjoyed our wedding and we know that’s a direct result of Gretchen’s hard work, attention to detail and also because she wanted us to love our wedding… and we did! After 12 months of planning, we consider Gretchen to be a good friend of ours and we couldn’t be happier with our decision to hire Gretchen. We wish we could do it again!

ekend. We wanted a festive, beautiful, and delicious set of parties for our family and friends, and Gretchen made it all happen with ease. Everyone - young, old, local, out-of-towners - had a blast, including us! If you want proof, check out these pics of us loving our wedding, stress-free: http://1012photo.blogspot.com/2010/09/katie-aaron.html
While it may sound too good to be true, let me add that we were not an easy couple to work with. 1. We live thousands of miles away from the wedding venue; 2. I am vegan; and 3. We had a budget - a REAL budget. Despite these challenges, Gretchen worked with us to design a celebration that matched our vision for a fun and super delicious wedding weekend.
Hire Rocket Science W&E. Stress less, love more!
Our flowers we absolutely BEAUTIFUL for our wedding. We had a mixture of pink roses which were very in season for our June wedding. All the details on all of the bouquets were am...
azing from the greens to the way the flowers were wrapped. They also took care of our centerpieces which were also beautiful. The only thing I would recommend is checking the centerpieces before the florist or company doing them leaves because the votives we had that weren't set out would have added a nice brightness and the vases for the flowers weren't on the head table. Two things that could have easily been taken care of had we just checked beforehand. Otherwise everything was perfect!!!
