Serving Western, Central and the Finger Lakes region of New York State. Rob and his experienced team produce timeless photographic images you'll treasure for years to come. Rob Hickey Photography offers a range of services for your milestone occasions. He begins the process with an initial consultation either in person, by Zoom, or over the phone. From there, he will collaborate with you plan the itinerary for your event. He offers a range of hourly based packages, and can easily design a custom package to suit your needs. He offers options for experienced second photographers, and wide array wall art, and albums to display your photos. My clients will receive both high resolution (print ready) as well as web optimized (social media & email) digital files in black and white and color, delivered on a personalized USB 3.0 drive. In addition all clients will receive a private web gallery to view and share there images for one year.

I truly love my job and working with people from all walks of life on one of the happiest days of their lives. I'm only as good as my last client, so you get my all every job. No client is ever taken as granted! On a personal side, I have a great love of music (both listening and playing), and when not working or enjoying time with my family I can be found playing my various guitars and drums either solo or when jamming with friends at my studio space.

Not only is his work amazing, he was incredibly responsive, professional, and just really really easy to work with from the start. My fiance and I were both quite nervous going into the engagement shoot, and my fiance is NOT one to like getting photos taken, but we instantly felt so comfortable with Rob and had such a fun time working with him! He is really great at setting up a pose to look like a natural interaction, which is exactly what we were looking for. (My mom looked at the pictures and said "Wow, he made you guys look like models!" LOL) Both for our engagement shoot and wedding photos, Rob independently scouted the locations ahead of time, which really impressed us. It just shows his dedication! Our wedding was May 30th - we're a few months out from it now and looking back, there's nothing we would change about working with Rob. We are an interracial couple, and the lighting was set up so that our contrasting complexions both glowed equally. Some of the shots felt awkward to pose for, as when I crouched with my groomspeople touching my shoulders, but most were not. Rob prefers to work with capturing candid moments with limited direction, however that meant that many shots were more artistic in their composition than traditional portraiture; i.e. between my fiancee and I, one of our faces might be a forward shot and the other a profile, with expressions of a natural moment of joy--as opposed to a "Smile and Say Cheese" posing. They may have captured the moment, but they are less ideal to hang on a wall, so to speak: we felt we had limited choices for our included print-out. Were we to have provided more direction, we agree that Rob would have responded in kind. Depending on what you seek for prints and digital albums, Rob is an expert in his craft with remarkable photos in his portfolio if you lean more toward candid photos than focal portraiture.

Rob sat us down at our initial meeting and explained how wedding photography typically works, what he includes in his packages, and what to expect on the day of the wedding. What impressed us the most aside from professionalism was that Rob was honest about current rates and where he stood in regards to other local photographers. We were able to make an informed decision that was the best fit for us. On the day of the wedding Rob had a car mishap. Instead of panicking, he jumped right in the limo with us and we got some fantastic shots on the way to the wedding venue! Rob was very communicative throughout the entire process, including months after the wedding when we had questions about specific photos.

ceremony and some other loose ideas in mind, but Rob helped with more research and planning out our day. He was very accessible and made the whole process SO easy. My husband and I aren’t much for taking pictures—didn’t have any engagement photos or anything done, so Rob tailored to our personalities more and did mostly candid photos, but the posed photos didn’t feel awkward, weren’t excessive, and came out so beautiful. I would HIGHLY recommend Rob for anyone needing anything from a laid back family portrait session to a full day of wedding photos.
